About the Business
Chardonnay Golf Club & Vineyards is a 18-hole semi-private golf facility located Southeast of the city of Napa in Jamieson Canyon at the gateway to the world renown Napa Valley wine district. Unlike virtually all courses today, Chardonnay’s golfers are not asked to play amidst any private residences. Our 18-holes of semi-private championship golf offer a variety of challenges for players of all skill levels. The 18-hole layout features a unique blend of golf holes consisting of six par fives, six par fours and six par threes that meander through over 150 acres of Chardonnay, Merlot & Pinot Noir vineyards and feature numerous lakes and creek crossing, five sets of tees (Professional – Black, Tournament – Burgundy, Mens – Green, Seniors – Ivory, and Ladies – Gold) to choose from and a wide variety of native trees, shrubs and wildlife. Several areas of the property are designed as wildlife preserves and are dedicated to maintaining wildlife habitat among the vineyards and fairways. Sharing the property with the golfers are several species of birds including hawks, kites, kestrels, hummingbirds, and an occasional golden eagle. In the early morning or late evening hours rabbits, squirrels, foxes, our bobcat family on #16 and many other “critters” stroll through the fairways.

Really fun course! The tee boxes are in ok shape, the fairways are pretty good and the greens are not bad. Driving range was grass which is a huge plus! Lots of par 3s with beautiful views and many reachable in 2 par 5s. The layout was pretty fun and pretty open for the most part. For a reasonable price this is a great place to practice your game.

Thanks for your feedback Nico! We hear you on the cart path only situation. We're evaluating course conditions after this historic rainstorm and look forward to opening up the course again to carts soon. We appreciate your insights and hope to make your next visit even more enjoyable. See you on the greens!

This course is nice, usually wind heavy. If you aren't accustomed to slow play, you need to avoid Chardonnay Golf Club. I played with a group of 4, playing behind the same number of players. On average - we waited 5-15 minutes per hole in order to safely hit our shots. Course management is my biggest complaint, otherwise I'd drive the 80 minutes weekly to play well maintained greens. Unfortunately - I don't have faith in their ability to regulate the speed of play, thus you will struggle to find a good pace in your round. Beautiful course, weak policy.

At onetime the Chardonnay golf club was a premiere venue. My 4-sum played on Sunday, August 6 and we were terribly disappointed with the facilities. The cart paths are falling apart. The golf carts are dirty and unwashed.
The T-boxes, fairways, and greens were "ok"... not great.
Hope that the superintendent gets it together.
To end on a positive note, the restaurant was excellent.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 2 - Brandee F.CA, CA0122Jun 12, 2023
At this point Chardonnay has stolen money from me and I would give them 0 stars if I could. I'm writing this review in hopes it will get someone to respond.
On Tuesday, 5/30 I purchased a gift certificate worth $100 for a gift, per the website they do pdf gift certificates for fast delivery. I received email confirmation that my order went through and would be processed soon.
On Friday, 6/2 I still hadn't received the pdf of the gift certificate so I emailed bbecker@chardonnaygolfclub.com (the email address provided in the confirmation I received) to see when I should be receiving it. I never heard anything back.
On Thursday 6/8, I tried calling Chardonnay and selected the option for "golf" to speak to someone about it. No one answered and the message I got said a voicemail box had not been set up. So then I called again and chose the option for "administration" and also got a voicemail. It appeared to be the voicemail box for the same person whose name was on the email confirmation I received and who I had already emailed about the problem. It's now Monday, 6/12, so about 2 full weeks since I bought the gift certificate and I have no gift and no response.Helpful 4Thanks 2Love this 1Oh no 3 - Nov 16, 2022
I've golf here many times and the course is great, carts are reliable and the staff very helpful. Do note the public range is on the far right with the members only range on the left. The course is surrounded by vineyards with the holes named after all things wine. Carts are not allowed in the parking so use the bag drop off. Range fees are on par with other courses. See what I did there. :)

Came back after four months from last time....of the estimated 45-50 bunkers on the course only three were playable....rest of the course was in great shape....customer service in the restaurant/bar afterwards was outstanding!
When asking(why) about the poor condition of the bunkers in the pro shoppe and afterwards I received nothing but attitude....too expensive to fix....disappointedHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Apr 4, 2023Previous reviewGreat golf course...in good shape EXCEPT for the green side bunkers which are completely unplayable....c'mon for the green fees players should be able to have sand in the bunkers.....disappointing

When I played 10 days ago it was underwater and they charged me $85 for rental clubs that were worth $10. They need to hook up with the sales rep and get better rental clothes in there as well as letting me know it's cartpath only.

Hi Dc,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your recent visit during these historic rainstorms we've been experiencing. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have encountered due to some flooding on the course, but rest assured the course will dry quickly as soon as the sun comes back out.
We appreciate your concerns regarding the rental clubs. We are in the process of evaluating our rental equipment to ensure that our guests receive the best value for their investment.
We look forward to welcoming you back and exceeding your expectations in the future. - Mark M.Roseville, CA02Oct 25, 2023
Driving range is all weeds. Cheap public courses where I live are better.
Lunch at turn, given the wrong food. Called from 11th hole tee and was told to get refund after round. Restaurant manager (big heavy set guy) came out to address the issue. It was a male who took call from the course and I don't know if that was the person who took the call, but the manger that came out really had a bad attitude. He told me I should be happy with what I got. Then he talked to cook and verified it was the wrong food. Then finally gave me some cash back. Badly handled. Never offered apology!!
My friend and I both had $100 gift certificates, paid for by my wife that we used. We where told we could use the rest after our round in the pro shop, which was open till 5pm. We finished at 4pm and the pro shop was closed. spent 20 minutes gong to admin office and all over the facility and there was no one at all to address the issue.
We drove back the 1 1/2 hours to home. The course sent us a "How was your experience" email from the GM Bob Becker, to which i replied with the problems and that we would like to get the credit card that paid for the two certificates to be credited the 2X $25 = $50 for the inability to use our balances on the certificates. That was 5 days ago now and still no reply back.
We will not go back to Chardonnay again. Eagle Vines is a nicer facility and much more cordial and appreciative staff and management. We will see if we ever get the refund for the unused balance of the gift certificates. Pretty bad business practices.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

HI Mark, thank you for sharing your experience with us. First and foremost, we'd like to offer an apology for your experience that day. Clearly, no apology can replace the experience and the bad taste we have left you and your group with. I am sending a DM regarding a resolution. Hope to connect soon, Alex.

After a long drive from the South Bay, I was looking forward to a nice round of golf enjoying the company of a good friend. He had made a reservation on golfnow.com for 1:48 pm which was pretty late. Unfortunately I had to leave by 6 pm to meet up with some other friends for dinner.
Parking was easy with a large lot which was quite full when I arrived. I was already checked-in but I wanted to get a cart for myself as I might have to leave before 6 pm. The guy at the golf shop told me that there weren't enough carts so I had to share with my friend. I was OK with that except for the fact that at the end of the round, I noticed at least half dozen carts sitting idle ready for use.
Anyways the weather was nice (not too hot) but the wind was pretty brisk probably gusting at about 15 mph at times. From previous visits I know that this course can be windy. Fortunately, a foursome did not show up and we were able to tee off at 1:30 pm instead. When we started off everything was great at the first hole though we had to wait a couple of minutes for the green to clear. Unfortunately this got progressively worse, forcing my threesome to wait about 10 minutes on the tee box and 5 minutes on the fairways. It was clear that a foursome two groups in front of us was taking its sweet time at each hole. Anyways the front nine took an excruciating 3 hours to complete and the marshall did not seem to do anything to speed up pace of play. My friend and I decided to leave after completing 12 holes because I had a tight schedule to keep.
Bottom line, I was disappointed at the pace of play and the course itself was in very good condition for the most part. I would have liked to have given this review four stars but the issues I encountered just made it a little less fun. I will strongly consider coming back again but will definitely reserve an earlier tee time.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
