Love this place for breakfast. I've never been for lunch or dinner, only breakfast. There was a time when me and my boyfriend went every morning. It's cheap and the pancakes are the best. The Melios bros are super sweet.
the only take cash. They have plenty of parking. They can get pretty busy on the weekends, but they turn the tables over quickly. Your food will be quick. It's wonderful! A full stack cost about $3!

Great breakfast place. This runs along the greasy spoon kinda place, but instead of greasy it's charry. Had breakfast there because John's doesn't open until 7 a.m., silly John. I had to meet a friend at 6:30 a.m. and Char Bar is the next closest place that is open. I went there. It was as good if not a little better than John's.
I had two of the biggest brownest fluffiest pancakes known to man. They were humongous, but yes I finished them. I had a side of ham which was thick and salty. It tasted amazing all charred up. The hash browns were just okay. I will go back and try the pork chop and pancake meal, then the steak and pancake meal, then the steak and pork chop and pancake meal. Then I'm sure I will have hospital food for a bit.
FYI, super cheap. Their special of 2 eggs any style, meat, potatoes and a short stack o'cakes was only $6.60. They have always been known for cheap tasty steaks, not a steak house mind you, but a steak joint.

The previous reviewer's review of this establishment is a fantasy. The Char Bar is a hamburger joint and diner, run by the Melios brothers. It is not a gay bar! The food is just average.
