Dr. Chaput (rhymes with slap-you) is great. She's been my "female stuff" doctor for about eight years now, ever since she joined the Lakeshore Clinic staff.
She's bright and friendly and keeps up on the latest trends. She's very matter-of-fact, not afraid to discuss delicate subjects, and wonderful in a crisis. I had a breast cancer scare in 2000, and she couldn't have been better to me. She made lots of phone calls to get me into a diagnostic lab quickly, unhappy with the two- and three-week waits that were being offered at the radiology labs they usually refer to. She said it wasn't fair to worry so long, and eventually managed to get me seen in two days. She called me the day of my appointment to check on me, and then called me three days later as soon as she got the results. The next time she saw me, we went over all the information together (there was more to it than just "not cancer") and she gave me a hug and told me how glad she was that it wasn't cancer. It was genuine, and I appreciated it very much. We then went on to discuss my surgical options and I got it taken care of, INCLUDING the surgery, within three weeks. What a relief!
She's taken a few breaks from the office to have her babies, but I will be glad to continue to see her as long as she stays with the practice. In fact, I may switch to her as my primary doctor when Dr. Sandstrom finally retires. I trust her to make good decisions on my behalf and to involve me completely in those decisions.
Being part of the Lakeshore Clinic means excellent doctor backup when she's out of the office, extended hours, great diagnostic and lab facilities, and coordinated insurance billing.
Dr. Chaput is extremely helpful and friendly. Lakeshore Clinic is a busy clinic and I have felt rushed with others, but not with Dr. Chaput. She saw my teenage daughter for a few different things and I have always been impressed with her thoroughness, her questioning of symptoms and available options, as well as her willingness to answer our questions. She is great.
