This hospital and all the staff we encountered (mostly in the ICU and CICU) are incredible!  J, not getting off work until 5pm and then us making the trek down to CRMC, we thought the first night we wouldn't make visiting hours.  The ICU's visiting hours end at 6pm.  That was never an issue.

J and I usually arrived around 6pm and no one ever gave us a hard time with getting back and visiting Dad.  We usually stayed until 8pm or so.  So a BIG THANK YOU TO THE ICU staff!!!

Im telling ya, if I happen to be down in that neck of the woods and, God Forbid, I need to go to the hospital - I want to go to Chandler Regional!

The nurses and staff are very attentive during delivery and labor and then it stops.  No visits during the night with a newborn child and 2 new parents, only a slight apology and statement that they were very busy during the night.  That's no excuse for not coming in at least once during the night to check on everyone.

The Lactation Specialist never made it in to help with nursing instructions, again 2 new parents could have used some direction.

And then we were asked if we'd like to leave early because they were over booked.  This shouldn't have happened and although we could have stayed, felt bad for the other people and left early, much to our later regret.

That was the worst hospital experience I have ever had! (This review is for the ER Department.)

I had a very serious chest pain and it was so painful that my whole body cramped and couldn't breathe. I felt like I would probably die on my way to the hospital and was crying because of my pain, but when my hubby carried me inside the Emergency Room, nobody seemed to care. We were waiting for quite a while and a male medical practitioner helped to have a basic check-up on me. He was nice and gentle, but he said we have to wait for a room to have a doctor to further check on me.

Then we waited and waited, and it was over 30 minutes already, I cried very loud because of my pain but the staff there just passed by me, looking at me and having a lukewarm look on their faces. Not even a word of comfort or encouragement. Nobody offered any help despite the fact that I had an extremely hard time breathing to a point that I actually couldn't speak! I had never have that experience before and no one even gave me oxygen. Some lady did come to me and asked me for some legal stuff I guess but I just couldn't speak or so painful that I couldn't read the documents. My hubby helped me to take care of her.

And I guess someone looked like a doctor finally came and he said from the readings took when I first entered the hospital, my oxygen level seemed okay and it should be psychological factors that make it seem so painful. Okay, even if psychological factors affect the painfulness, part of it is due to the lack of caring from the staff and you doctor! When you can't breathe and in a great pain, how can you stay calm!? After the 1-minute talk, the doctor left us saying I needed some other scans before they can diagnose me. I can understand this, but not until another 30 minutes or so did another scan happen.

Later, I was brought to a bed and a really nice nurse gave me some oxygen to breathe. I felt much better just breathing the oxygen! Thanks nurse! After awhile, I was able to speak again. Later on I needed a CAT scan, and the nurse asked some male medical staff whether it's okay if I have seafood allergy. He told the nurse that seafood allergy is no longer a factor, and sent me to have a CAT scan with iodine injected in me. After I came out from the scan machine, the staff in the room asked me if I was okay, and on their faces I could see a sense of fear. At first I didn't think I have a problem, but after a few minutes, I started to feel itchiness on my head, and on my body! One of the staff brought me back to my bed quickly, and the nurse, my hubby and people around were all scared because I had serious rashes all over!! The nurse was right!!!

Then they injected me with 2 or 3 stuff quickly to make my rashes go away, but when the male medical staff injected me with the first thing (I don't remember if that's the one who said I'm okay to have CAT scan), I almost fainted! The nurse told him he shouldn't use the whole dose because I'm small; he should have given me a dose for a girl...the doctor finally came to see me again after all the scans and stuff, and what he said was something like, "Oh, you look much better! You can speak now! When you got in, you couldn't even speak!" I was speechless...you knew I couldn't speak because I had an extremely hard time breathing and you did nothing to help. In the end he couldn't find the cause of my chest pain.

And it didn't end there. The medication the doctor prescribed me damaged my nerve system and liver. Thank God I read the prescription sheet and stopped the medication myself after the second day. Although these effects are mostly rare according to the prescription sheet, they all happened on me. And did I mention a mere few hours service cost $20,000+? (I had EKG, X-ray and CAT scan, some two bags of potassium, saline water and oxygen.) Thank God again I have medical insurance, or else I might probably need to file bankruptcy.

In short, if it hadn't been the really nice nurse who took care of me and comforted me beside my bed, and the nice nurse at the x-ray room who gave me a warm blanket to keep me warm when she saw me freezing, I would have given them one star.

This was the worst visit to an urgent care I have ever been to. I waited over three hours for a doctor to see me. Nothing urgent about this place. The doctor finally saw me she said she would write a prescription for me. Again I waited about 20 minutes. Finally I left my "room" and went to the nurses station to get my prescription that was just sitting there. At this point in time after waiting so long all the pharmacies were closed and it was too late ti be filled.
Then I got a bill from them for the amount my insurance didn't cover and it was $200. They billed it as an emergency room visit. After arguing with my insurance and then calling Chandler regional  they said all their visits are charged that way. Never mind the bill , the fact that I had to wait to see someone, then when I was finally graced with the presence of some doctor for a mere five minutes only to be given a prescription that I couldn't fill, I called the facility and they were unapologetic. It was ridiculous. They are awful and do not provide quality care and then charge you for their crappy service.

The most intense experience of my life:  serving as Coach #1b for my best friend as she went through labor this week.  The three of us (1st-time mom, husband and me) bonded like NO OTHER experience could ever bond us as we got through all sorts of crazy and war-like things that happened through 30 hours of labor ending in a C section.

That said:  this hospital is incredible.  Those labor and delivery nurses must be born with a special kind of saint/angel/superhero genetic makeup.  Without their help, hubby and I would not have been able to get her through that process.  The knowledge, care and humanity of each individual working there was unbelievable.  They saw us at our worst:  scared, overwhelmed, completely clueless, and in an out-of-control situation.  Their ability to manage that kind of chaos and intensity simply blows my mind.

I tried to thank the staff with tears and hugs at the end of the process, but there's truly no way I can ever express my gratitude.
