Great place to stay. Just a few blocks away from lots of fun stuff. Great things about this place:

* rooftop lounge area with pool and great views!
* nice toiletries - yummy grapefruit smell.
* excellent service - my sliding glass door got jammed off the track and the front desk staff came up right away (at 11pm!!) and fixed it up :)
* amazing location - in a residential feeling area that's only 1/4 mile from fun stuff!

Didn't try the food and the drinks were pricey but that's too be expected.

Minus one star because they closed the pool/lounge area on Saturday afternoon without warning us (not even signs at the elevator). Boo for that.

(Visited the hotel October 2009)

The location of the hotel was good - but I wouldnt say it was walking distance like other people here have mentioned.

The room was nice, bed comfortable.

I had heard about this hotel through some friends who often stay here when in West Hollywood, so i decided to check this place out this past weekend.

Booked the place through http://Hotels.com. got a 200/night deal, which wasn't  bad, considering that booking on their own website, the rooms start at 280/night. We got there, parking is only valet, you pay $30 bucks for overnight parking, which again isn't bad considering that if you want to go to Weho and hang out, unless you are planning on making rounds for hours(and risking frustration ruin your outfit ) you will end up paying 10 bucks for just a few hours.

What we got? massive room, with 3 separate areas, bedroom, living room desk, bathroom with vanity room and closet. not bad. Ipod/Iphone speakers (basic so your drunk friends can sing along to why he didn't get any attention from the go go dancer)

what else is good here?.. well as everybody else mentioned, the pool, which is the selling point for this joint. Nice roof top pool area with beds you can nap on  overlooking downtown, while you wait for your waiter to bring you the 4th mojito ( and trying to ignore the brazilian couple having tantric sex 5 feet away from you)Good times...

room/pool food service is very good too, expensive but its quality food, i ordered a burger next morning since i was trying to forget a massive hungover,  and they brought me a huge kobe beef burguer with prosciutto topped with caramelized onions...i didnt order all that fancy on my burger but quality beef cant never be too much right?

Good times..

Just when you think you've seen every nook and cranny in beautiful and interesting Los Angeles, you get invited to the Chamberlain for drinks and wonder, "Where is this place??"

Located under Sunset and next to the West Hollywood circle drive, it was barely noticeable.  Arriving inside, it immediately had that hip, clean and well manicured look.  But nothing prepared me for the rooftop at sunset:  magnificent would just start my disbelief with the 360 views.  Unbelievable.  Perfect.

We had free reign of the cabana and the outlying areas near the pool, which was not only fun, but sooo impressive.  Our drinks were great, the spread that was laid out was fantastic -- if only my darn I Phone had a flash as after dark was equally breathtaking as sunset was.

One little note:  There is a wall of glass near the elevator doors and I watched not one, not two but three people was smack dab face first into the glass!  Hilarious -- but seriously, take note.

There are some simple rules of life that everyone should be familiar with.  #1, you don't wear a t-shirt to the opera.  #2, you don't leave your best friend at a nightclub just because you've found tonight's booty call (ahem, Jonathan).  #3, you never charge a gay men $30/day to park his car.

The Chamberlain's valet told me that it would be $30 for each day of my week-long stay in West Hollywood to park my car, I became so stressed out that I grew hair on my back.  hEllO, I spend way too much on my car to have 'any' money left over for ridiculous things like valet.  That $30/day could go to something more useless, like, a more expensive car.  Or actually paying for insurance.

Upon being insulted, I drove out, made a right onto Santa Monica blvd, and within half a mile found a garage that charged under $10 per day.  A whopping difference, right on the blvd.  Don't park here.

As you can imagine, I was flustered from having to walk half a mile with all my Louis bags, but the Chamberlain's front desk greeted me with the warmth and love that I deserved.  The studly counter boy even told me his name and that I could call the front desk at anytime during my stay if I had a problem.  Of course he was hitting on me.

The rooms are adorable, and perfectly West Hollywood.  They lack the cold hotel feel, and the complimentary products would make any Hyatt bathroom shrivel up and die.  The first thing I did (after watching TV, un-packing, making phone calls, sleeping, going out to lunch, and shopping) was spread lotion all over my smooth Latin body and 27 waist and skip up to the rooftop pool.  Ever since I saw those bougies on Real Housewives of Atlanta drink cocktails at the Chamberlain, I've wanted to try this pool out.  My thoughts?

Sheer perfection.  I sprawled out with my People magazine and cell phone and just glistened in the sun.  The only annoying part of my wonderful afternoon was that I thought this guy was constantly hitting on me, but really he was asking if I wanted anything to eat or drink.  Eat at a pool?  Every pool-service-person should know not to ask that of anyone looking as fierce as I did.

I ordered a fruit smoothie, followed by a portabello burger and yuca fries, which I hid under my chair so that no one could see that I was eating.  I have yuca all the time in Dania Beach and Miami, but the yuca at the Chamberlain blew my world apart.  I forgot what time it was.  I forgot to look at myself in the mirror in 15-minute intervals.

My only complaint aside from $30 valet is that the gym was too small and inadequate for someone like me who works out every day even when on vacation.  hEllO, if you're going to make a hotel in West Hollywood then create a bigger gym space.  Gays need to constantly work on their bodies in order to stay competitive.  Three treadmills and some free weights will not counterbalance yuca fries.

I know - All the other reviews are great...But for being 4 stars...I'm not to impressed.  The room has bubbles in the Wall Paper, A/C doesn't really cool down the room, dank hall ways...Just kinda over it.

A plus was the pool, if not for that it would be one star for me.

Anyways - I probably wouldn't stay here again.

Fantastic location - actually within walking distance to great restaurants and bars, which is a rarity in LA.  The hotel staff are all knowledgeable and helpful, and don't have that "cooler than thou" vibe which tends to run rampant in the area.

Rooms have a modern feel, and I loved the separate sunken living area, complete with fireplace.

The Chamberlain is a wonderful place to stay. The WeHo location is central, a number of places are within walking distance and it's pretty central for many of the major tourist locations.

The service was great, the front desk was super-friendly, the restaurant's happy hour is a great deal on some fancy and tasty drinks.

We didn't get a chance to hang out at the pool at all but we went to check it out and it is a beautiful little rooftop patio, it had a real peaceful feeling. Not sure that it would be super friendly for kids as everyone seemed more intent on sunning than on swimming.

Our room had a nice sitting area that really improved our stay at the hotel since we weren't confined to only sitting on our beds and it made it easy to invite a friend over for a drink.

I'd totally stay at the Chamberlain again.

This converted apartment building is a little bit expensive, but has a great location, a boutiquey decor, a good restaurant with great sliders and an awesome cheese plate, and a small rooftop pool area with a nice view of the Hollywood hills.

Sunset, Robertson, Melrose, and La Cienega are all easily walkable.  For the first time while staying in LA I didn't use my car for an entire day!  It felt odd.

Parking is a painful $30, and street parking around there is a joke, so don't even bother.

what an odd odd hotel.  boutiquey?  sure - but odd.

how so, Barney?

well, the hallways are reminiscent of old school apartment building (which it likely once was) mixed with old school asylum (which it might be - doors were tucked away from the hallway and I never saw a soul).

the room was bi-level, in that there was a step down from bed to couch/desk area.  and in order to prevent some klutzy (drunk) ass from failing down into the 'recessed' living area, there was a railing alongside the bed.  safety first, tacky a close second.

the pool was uber loungey (cool) and very quiet last weekend (awesome) and had the hints of bevy and food service, if by hint I mean I saw one guy bring one thing once to one person, and then disappear.  A sign clearly stated 'no outside food allowed - please see your server' - the other side of the sign should have said 'psych! no service available'

the bar was odd in smell and freezing in temperature and prompted something I have done only a scant few times in my life....I left a bar without buying a drink.

So why 4 stars?

location was awesome - quiet neighborhood wedged between Sunset and Santa Monica Blvd, walking distance to bars, coffee shops, and the Hustler superstore.  staff at front desk and valets (as well as housekeeping) were all very friendly and the place was reasonably priced, all things considered.

and it's not full of business travelers.

Given I thrashed The Viceroy and the two hotels are owned by the same people, it's a little surprising that I liked the place. Part of it is I think most of the elite riff raft in Hollywood heads to the Hotel Roosevelt instead of the Chamberlain. The interior design is almost exactly the same as The Viceroy in Santa Monica, though I believe my room was a lot bigger. The pool rocks the proverbial casbah, as it's on the rooftop and you can see for miles (two Rock 'n Roll Refernces for the price of one) on that one day every couple of years when the L.A. smog is blown out to the Mountains by the wind (I got lucky that was the day I stayed there).

I'd definitely stay there again, if my company were putting me up in West Hollywood and price wasn't an option.

One of a few conclusions about Los Angeles:

1.  Hotties in LA bars who claim they run actually do not.  They just eat less to stay thin.

2.  Aforementioned group does run, but only does so on treadmills indoors.

3.  People say they run and they do and do so outdoors, but less than two miles.

4.  The Sunset and Cienega crowds are more bridge and tunnel than I thought.

Why?  When asking the "beautiful people" in the trendier places on La Cienega and Sunset Blvd where to run, I got the answer that basically you can't find a nicer place to run than a hilly, crowded, trafficky, diesel-fumey street, at least not near the Chamberlain in West Hollywood.  I would normally attribute such responses to poor game but, um, other conversation was more interesting.

Anyway I was about to give up and not run at all but then I asked the Chamberlain concierge where to run.  All of the front desk staff here act as concierges... they seem to know what they are talking about.  "Jog west down Santa Monica a little less than a mile, then when you get to Doheny, you'll see a path on the north side of the street with trees and shade and a softer surface to run on. The path is about a mile long."

Holy crap, he was right!  In Los effing Angeles, right where Beverly Hills starts, there is indeed a nice, shaded, park-like path to run on, with only minimal interruptions to allow rich people access to their driveways.

That tidbit alone was probably worth a bit of the markup at this hotel.

As for "actually relevant" points:
- Yes, the front desk and concierge were excellent with lots of local knowledge.
- There is no self parking and valet is $30 a day which is painful but your only option given the crazy street parking restrictions anywhere near this place.
- The location is awesome awesome awesome... you can walk to Robertson, Melrose, or the Sunset strip from here.  And if you're the taxi type it is only like $7 to these places.
- This place was clearly an apartment building before it was a boutique hotel, but the furnishings, flooring, etc are beautifully done.  Some things were still a little ghetto like our not-quite-functional sliding patio door, which never seemed to be on its rail.
- The restaurant had some especially awesome "sliders" and a great cheese plate.
- Don't light the candle or partake in the snacks they have in your room's basket!  You will be nickel and dimed, I mean ten'd and twenty'd, to death.

If they didn't want you to *swim* in the heated, roof top pool with amazing views of the city at 2am, they would turn the lights out, turn the music off and lock the door to the roof when it closes at 11pm.  But they don't, so you should.

Side note:  I'm thinking they probably don't turn the security cameras off either, so don't plan on running for public office after a debaucherous dip.

I just can't figure out if I like LA or not. When driving along the beach on sunny smog-free days, I think it's spectacular. Then, one hour later, when stuck on the 10 and running late for a meeting, I want to punch the lights out of someone. Actually, everyone.

The Chamberlain tempered my love-hate relationship for a full 24 hours, giving me an I-love-LA visit start to finish. This is a miracle.

Hidden in a quiet residential neighborhood by the intersection of Santa Monica Blvd and La Cienaga, the Chamberlain is also located within easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants on Sunset Blvd.

When you stay here for the first time, it's smart to map out your driving directions. I pride myself as a navigational genius, and drove by here three times trying to find the parking garage. This is a good problem, though - this hotel really blends into the neighborhood. And because the Chamberlain is actually a renovated apartment building, the rooms are spacious, have private balconies, and are so quiet and comfortable you can almost pretend you live here and hired Kelly Wearstler to decorate your apartment. Delusional fun!

The staff was professional and friendly without being stiff. Room service was excellent and fast, and after reading all the reviews here, I was sure to make a mad dash to see the rooftop pool after my last meeting of the day. It's worth the hype - the views were amazing, and I still managed to get a slight tan at 6pm.

Me? Actually tanning on purpose? Now you know how fast the Chamberlain makes you feel like a local.

It's my second night here and I'm pleasantly surprised by how much I like this hotel! A client booked it for me so I have to admit I was skeptical, but the Chamberlain is super cute, clean, very comfortable, conveniently located, and the level of service is unlike any I've received in a long time (and not just at hotels). Kudos to their awesome staff for really nailing it and making my stay incredibly easy and comfortable so far!

The rooftop pool, while small, is awesome, and the room-service food is great. They have wi-fi at the pool so you can work poolside (something I've been doing daily!).

My only complaints are that it is REALLY hard to find if you don't know LA and are driving, and the service is maybe a little too accommodating - sometimes you don't want people calling and knocking to see how everything is 10x/day!

Oh - I should mention that a lovely "la cucaracha" did scamper across my floor the first night, but my stay has been bug-free since then. They also immediately sent two burly men to my room to take care of the offender - which didn't involve stomping on the thing in the middle of the room (this was another pleasant surprise).

All-in-all, I totally recommend this place!

Overall I think this place rocks. Beds are comfy, rooms are clean and well appointed... couldn't get a better location when you're 2 only blocks behind the bars of Santa Monica Blvd.

The staff was very helpful, and answered to our requests very promptly. Fewer and fewer hotels have 24 hour room service... I must say we have the Hotel Chamberlain overnight cook a busy couple of days (and he was very good!).

Here's a few nuggets of truth... The pool, which many have raved about, is about the size of a bird bath (obviously a wonderful photographer to do their website photos). Agree on the view, comfy lounges/ cabanas and fab cocktails... but its really not a pool for swimming - name of the game here is to lounge.

A few things didn't work in our room - the ipod alarm clock for one, and the DVD player wasn't functioning 100% of the time.

But overall, the staff is very efficient without being cheesy... and we had an awesome, awesome trip.

Thanks guys, will be back!!

Can you say....FABULOUS?

This Hotel was awesome! My boyfriend got a suite for my surprise birthday. It was very spacious and trendy but simple decor. We had about 30 of our friends and we all fit comfortably. I was very nervous we'd get complaints for the loud noise, but we didn't the entire night. The walls must be sound proof. Later a group of us went night swimming on the rooftop, that was so cool. The pool was heated, they had great music with really pretty cabanas and the view of the city was breathtaking.
I didn't give it 5 stars because the parking situation... 27 dollars for valet. That's a bit steep. But other then that, our stay was perfect! Nice staff too. I would stay again in a heartbeat!

This is a great hotel with big comfy beds, large rooms and Kelly Wearstler's signature Hollywood Regency style. The pool on top has a magnificent view of the city... when I was there Heidi Klum was doing a photo shoot, like 2 months after her last baby. I wanted to run inside and put on a snowsuit.

The only complaint I have (and this may have changed) was only hotel guests could use the restaurant and pool. I understand for the pool, but for the restaurant? I was there on business and the restaurant was DEAD. The food was good though.

I would come back here for the ROOFTOP POOL alone:

* comfy lounge chairs - the ones with the amazing padding
* cool cabanas with you need to get out of the sun
* big n' fluffy towels waiting at the pool for you
* food & beverage service
* wireless internet (so if you're here on a business trip you are stuck in your room)
* the view!

The rooms are great as well - the beds are comfort city and the rooms are well stocked with everything you need. My room had a flat screen TV, DVD player, iPod player, extra pillows and blankets (not that I needed it), iron, etc. And it was a really big room with a huge closet & bathroom. Everything was very clean.

As other people have mentioned the food is overpriced and not all that great. I ordered in one night & got a cobb salad which was okay but way too much $$$. Now, I understand that room service can be on the pricier end because it's a service and I didn't have to take my lazy ass outside. But my salad went from $14 to $26 very quickly. They add on a 20% gratuity, a $4 room service charge then when it's delivered there is a place to tip when you sign. I didn't want the guy who delivered it to be screwed so I tipped on top of all of it.

Next time I'll grab something from Trader Joe's down the street or go out to one of the great places in the neighborhood! But can't wait to go back and spend quality time at the pool.

I love that the Chamberlain is walking distance from plenty of West Hollywood goods, yet tucked into a quiet residential cul-de-sac.  The lobby is tiny, but the rooms are spacious - most have full sitting areas and balconies.

I had a small business meeting catered by the hotel restaurant, which was great.  The food was top-notch (a big mix of appetizers) and it was easy to make arrangements by phone.  The only downside to this is that their board room isn't obvious or easily accessible from the lobby - it was as if we were ushering our guests to the bowels of the hotel.  Still, it opens into the courtyard shared with the restaurant, so in warm weather it can be nice.

The rooftop pool is beautiful!  Overall, I didn't love the slightly dated appearance in the rooms (not in furnishings, but actual construction) but this is a lovely place I'd return to for sure.

Another great option for where to stay if you're visiting Los Angeles. This places used to be an apartment building but has been drastically revamped and stylized into a chic boutique hotel, complete with roofdeck pool.

All of the staff I encountered were pleasant and accomodating, and breakfast on the outdoor patio is a nice way to start any day.

My only complaint - no hotel bar and thus no nightlife - to me a requisite of an urban hotel. Still, I'm erring on the high side with four stars, but probably would really go with three and a half, just for this one slight. What can I say, I love a good hotel bar!

This hotel really added something fancy and fun to my 'jaunt down to LA for a gallery opening' experience.

It is just off of Sunset on a little green residential street, within walking distance of some interesting looking restaurants and bars (unfortunately I didn't get to check them out).

The lobby is very pretty and feels a bit art deco to me, with green and white marble inset floors, a low ceiling and just a bit of the gilded 'over-the-top' LA goodness.

The rooms are spacious with a plush, lowered sitting room and super comfy 'never want to get out of bed' beds.

And there is a rooftop pool with great views!

I highly recommend a morning swim followed up by breakfast by the pool.  So relaxing and so LA!

Nobody seems to know about this great hotel in West Hollywood.

Location:
Admittedly the location is a little weird, it's surrounded by residential condos in a quiet block off the main drag.

Room:
For about $330 we got a roomy suite with bedroom, living room, and spacious bar area. The furnishings weren't over the top Ian Schrager-style, but were quite stylish.

Services:
They have a pool on the roof but I didn't get a chance to check it out unfortunately. The restaurant looked cool, but the breakfast was mediocre so I can't recommend it.

Definitely an excellent choice for a hotel in West Hollywood, I'd take a room here over the Roosevelt any day.

The decor here is very masculine and not in a hunter green navy blue and plaid kind of way, but more in a tonal blue with gray accents and an obsession with straight lines kind of way.

If that description makes no sense to you don't worry it's not going to matter to you either way. If it does make sense to you then you should seriously think about whether that will bother you.

Besides being a bit hidden and a slow response time from the valet* everything else here was quite nice if not a little affected. The location is fantastic, the beds were comfortable, the room was huge, the staff was nice, and it was relatively quiet when I stayed.

Overall I would stay again, but only if the price was right.

*Honestly, I'm not the sort of person to complain about "the valet" however when a hotel does not allow you to self park and you must rely on the valet it's kind of irritating when it would just be faster to do it yourself.

I had a great experience, the rooms are super fancy and the staff was really nice. I plan on staying there again soon.

I would have given the Chamberlain 5 Stars, *however*
They offered us the "special" at the restruant and since it was a special occasion I didnt mind spending $200 on lobster...however im pretty sure it was battered in some cheap budwiser kind of beer and was about as big as an infants hand. We ordered room service when we got back and were much more satisfied with the cold sandwhiches.

the staff is extremely helpful and the location is amazing.

My only gripe is that it's not one of the best Kor Hotel properties in terms of attention to detail.

The restaurant is below average with unreasonable pricing. My guest had the chicken and I had the sea bass. The fish was not fully cooked and my guests chicken was not flavored as described on the menu. The service was amazing though.

Our waiter was on top of our drinks, and was very attentive to our needs.

My parents stayed at the Chamberlain this weekend while visiting their wonderful and perfect daughter and really liked it.  But since hearsay is not admissable (thank you Law and Order SVU), I'll just mention the stuff I observed...

Their room was very large and had a whole little den-like area with a couch and coffee table in addition to the standard desk.  But... no drawers anywhere in the room!  I never really unpack into drawers but I'm sure a lot of people do, so that was weird.  But it was spacious with a nice little balcony with no view.  Views are overrated anyway.

The rooftop heated pool had a lovely view (views are totally underrated!), very nice comfy loungers, shady cabanas, and helpful staff.  Complimentary frozen fruit was served in little chinese take out containers.  The grill menu and lunch menu have some nice offerings and everything was very tasty.  And complimentary fiji water bottles.  I never turn down free bottled water in LA.  Oh and it's a nice quiet non-sceney pool atmosphere unlike that Hollywood hotel that shares its name with 2 US presidents (and I'm not talking about Hotel Bush).

Location is very central... walkable to some shops and cafes but in a nice quiet neighborhood between Sunset and Santa Monica Blvd.

I think they get a lot of businessy types but no one would really be out of place.  I saw families and a pretty diverse range of people in the small boutique hotel.  I'd stay here if I didn't... well... LIVE here already.  But if I ever feel the need to fumigate, I'll consider it.

My mom and I decided to go "WeHo" chic and stay at the Chamberlain on a recent LA vacation. Except we knew we weren't cool and didn't want this delicate fact rubbed in our faces. The Chamberlain not only came through ... it impressed us with its funkiness-sans-pretentiousness vibe. Great rooms, reasonable prices, cozy neighborhood and a friendly staff made our three night stay awesome. Strong coffee and the NYT-- both complimentary- greet you in the morning, and friendly employees customize recommendations and accommodate with a smile ("An extra night at a lower rate? It'll be hard but let me see what I can do"). Quite the way to vacation!

What's not to like?  The pool could be bigger, but the service was great all the way around.  I especially liked their valet service -- those guys were on top of things.

Despite some drama with my booking thanks to a poorly-trained executive assistant, the front desk staff were incredibly nice and helpful. I had a really spacious and very clean bathroom (puts all those NYC hotels to absolute shame) and the bed was very 'princess and the pea,' which was great after a longish flight.

Because you're surrounded by apartment complexes, and this used to be an apartment building, it feels less transient than most hotels, which is quite comforting. Noise was at a bare minimum, too, and you're a walk from Sunset. No ATM in the lobby though, which is a bit of a pain but take a left out of the hotel and head down to Santa Monica Blvd. for a range of coffee places and convenience stores.

The bar/restaurant downstairs will look much bigger in most pictures but it had a nice little (and I mean little) patio dotted with heat lamps and again, the waiter was adorable.

Stay here for the killer rooftop pool/deck. Lots of fetching gay men all around, if that's your thing. You can actually walk to a lot of cafes, restaurants and stores from this hotel, which is nice if you're sharing a rental car with your friend and want some time by yourself. Trader Joe's is right across the street. Modern, spacious, clean rooms with nice sheets and fluffy duvets.

Four stars instead of five because it's no bargain.

I love LA. I'm one of those rare "sanfrancicans" who actually holds a place in his heart for the city of angels. I have stayed in many of the cities hotels both upscale and down, but this one keeps me coming back everytime. I'm a regular at this place, dating all the way back to pre-makeover days when the sign above the door read 'Wyndham Suites' of which to it I still occasionally refer. The staff here are fabulous, there's an element of sincerity from behind the reception desk which can be a rare thing in the hotel industry (don't even ask about my customer service experiences at The Standard! btw what exactly does "you're 86-ed" mean?) The rooms are HUGE, no matter how many beds you choose to buy for the night all the rooms are almost exactly the same size. The Chamberlain used to be 'suites' rather than a straight up hotel which explains the nice open spaces in each room. Love that fact! The product line they choose is exceptional too, I absolutely love the eucalyptus scented... well, everything. Love eucalyptus!

The hotel is peacefully situated right off Santa Monica Blvd away from traffic noise and partygoers, has an amazing rooftop sundeck and swimming pool and the most comfortable sunloungers you will ever experience. To find this unique hotel head for The Ramada on Santa Monica in West Hollywood (you all know it, it's virtually a gay club) and it is literally situated right behind that.

You'll like!

What a gem!  Chic and Modern Decor.   The large room had a Thomas O'Brian Vintage-Modern vibe. Close to everything-- no cab or car needed here to dine or drink. Since this is off the strip, after a night of revelry, stumble here and sink your head into one of the many fluffy pillows--  you can sleep without hearing road noise and the sound of the perpetual party at the strip.  The rooftop pool and view of the twinkly city lights can not be beat.  I felt like a 40's Hollywood star, drink in hand, waiting for my dramatic close-up.  My room, with a step down to the living area, only enhanced my mini-trip into glamor.  I hope they renovated the bathroom vanity area which had a little bit of the feel of the old apartment from which this hotel was converted (a coat of glossy white paint does not equal renovation).   I can't wait to come back!

Man, this is THE place to stay in WeHo. Walking distance from the strip and all the major boy-bars, the Chamberlain offers amazing service and nice, large rooms. Converted from an apartment building into an exceptionally hip boutique hotel, this place never ceases to please. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

The staff is very inexperienced about hospitality business. I had to ask a hair dryer and it never came. How come do they forget to put a hairdryer in a $350 room? Any way they made a mistake obviously but they should correct the mistake professionally. later on, they send a bottle of wine to the room but it didn't really made me happy. because I had to call the room service more than 4 times and every body blamed each other. I was not looking for a complain obviously I wanted my hair dryer before I go to the dinner. The last person I talked to, tried to make me guilty by asking arrogantly "are you sure you checked your room well?" What's happening with the new generation?
I like the pool area. The room service was pretty fast to that area. We were happy with it. The pool and the cabanas are nice and relaxing enough.
The decor is nice. Clean and chic but I didn't like the quality of the decoration in every where in the hotel. It looks like a stage. They used extremely cheap materials. The rooms are not cheap so I thought it's not cool to fool people.
Over all it's not the best place I've ever stayed for the price. recommended? I don't know.. I think if you pay $350 and up you can stay in a better place.

Let me say that this place rocks! We stayed over Labor Day weekend and felt like rock stars! The service was impeccable, and the roof top pool deck is key. We had a kick ass brunch (get the panckaes with strawberry butter) poolsside, which eventually became the daytime activity. The girl who served the entire deck made the atmosphere. The room was huge, the bed was elevated, and the living room was big enough to host a small party. Walking distance to WeHo and Sunset, you can't beat the location.

This place is awesome.  Worth the coin for sure.  Every time I'm in town to catch a show this is my home base.
