Great place to have your affair and by "affair" I am not talking about your 35th birthday party.. capisce? wink wink
GREAT bar and bartenders downstairs. The upstairs is set up as a lounge with small cozy rooms. The downstairs room is small and dark and very cozy too. The building itself looks like an old ski chalet and is on a side street next to the LIRR tracks in Rosyln. There is also a small parking lot.
It is open WAY late.
I greatly regret that I lived in the vicinity of this bar for years and only recently checked it out for the first time. The atmosphere was a great improvement over the typical Long Island bar, and all the bar staff that I have interacted with have been friendly and make the drinks a bit strong, just as I like it. I prefer to go on weekdays, because it gets overcrowded on weekends. The food, though decent, is nothing to write home about (or online for that matter).

On Long Island, bar-hopping can be a scary endeavor. Herds of men with spiked haircuts, bad accents, and gold jewelry are a major deterrent. Thankfully we discovered that the pretty but obscure structure next to the remotely located 7-11 was not a private chalet, but a really hot bar! There are lots of little rooms, nooks and crannies, and the deco is almost goth-fab; velvet curtains, leopard print fur, antique lamps, loungey couches. There's even an outdoor area for the smokers and fresh air fiends. The food is nothing noteworthy- typical pub grub. A sweet escape from the LI guido meat market, the Chalet has a great atmosphere to just kick it with some buddies and throw back a few drinks when the trek to Manhattan just seems like too much effort.

It's definitely different with it's downstairs bar and upstairs lounge. Very dark and kind of romantic with all of it's different cozy couches. They have fondue which is always good, can't really go wrong with that. Other than that, went for drinks a few times. Cute place to go in the winter.

One of the "Best Places to Kiss" in New York, this gem has gone through a few changes over the years. But it is always fun and welcoming (unless you are a jerk). The bartenders are great - say hi to Charlie and Brian. And try a Chicken Club Sandwich from the bar menu
