Review from Lily S.
The decor of this restaurant is kind of exotic, reminds me of The Elephant Bar. It's surprisingly spacious inside!
We started out with the app Burger Sliders with Tater Chips, it was not bad, the buns were especially good. But it'd be better if there was a slice of cheese!
A major disappointment was their shakes. On the menu it said "thick & creamy", hardly so! We ordered the Hazelnut shake, but it was just like any vanilla shake even though the waitress insisted she put hazelnut in it. Strangely the color was white! And we thought it was too pricy at almost $5 for some runny shake! Should've saved room and money for dessert instead!
The Grown Up Mac and Chese was seriously the best I've ever had! So flavorful and creamy and cheesy! I added grilled chicken and replaced sun dried tomatoes with fresh ones. Love it love it love it! Would come back just to have that!Comment from CHAD H. of Chad's Grill 9/30/2011

After my review, Chad contacted me and invited me to try his restaurant again. I took him up on it and tried the tequila lime chicken. I substituted the black beans for the plantains. The meal was much better. Tonight, I tried the buffalo wings with a side of plantains. It was quite good. I got the chance to meet Chad in person when I picked up my order tonight. He was very friendly and just as nice as could be. I suggest that if you are not satisfied with your visit, reach out and let him know. He cares and he wants to make it right. If for nothing else, I'll be back for the plantains!

Review from Elena C.
Denver, CO
First time here - the menu is dated. They have burgers, pizzas, chicken dishes, but nothing seemed new or innovative. It's like I've seen the same menu since 1998.
The hostess was great - I asked if we could have a table facing a TV (one of the bowl games was on), and she really seemed to try to find a perfect table for us.
After that, the service went downhill. Our waitress was awful. Took forever to get us 2 beers - but didn't even think to bring us water. I looked around, and other people with different servers were getting served much faster.
Normally, I wouldn't have minded the dated menu, but the food was not the greatest.
Ordered nachos, pizza, and beer. All were OK - not the best, not the worst. The nachos would have been way better had they not been sitting under a heat lamp. Again, server problem.
I don't think I would go here again, especially with all of the other options available in this area. -

The Grown-up Mac and Cheese is my favorite. While it's not a fancy restaurant it's a neighborhood favorite.

We've been to Chad's for dinner 5 times now and always have a great meal. Even when they are busy...food comes out fast, which is very important when you have young children.
Speaking of children, they have the best crayons and stickers to keep them busy while they are waiting. REAL CRAYONS people.
Love, love, love the Grown Up Mac and Cheese. -

Arvada, CO
Hmmmm, yeah. Nothing to it at all. It's a sports bar, it's a grill, it's a mexican food joint, it's a pizza place, it's a seafood haven! It's a giant identity crisis that does not have anything that makes it stand out. Although, that could be an asset for a family looking to have dinner at a place that will cater to different cravings.
$2.50 margaritas. Hmmmm, yeah. No, that's just because there's no alcohol in them. I thought the food was overpriced for the quality of it. Waitress was good. Checked in often and everything seemed pretty speedy.
Totally agree with Matt O. - even if you're stuck in Lakewood, there are definitely better places to eat. -

I'm not sure I have had a place implode such as this one.
Firstly, why go to dinner in Lakewood if you live in Denver? Well, I went out with my girl and her mom, who lives in Lakewood, and she wanted to go here.
We get a few strawberry margs and they are fruity and tasty, but I am not sure how much alcohol is in them. We also order the their famous spinach artichoke dip. Its probably as famous as Clint Howard but it was pretty tasty. At this point, I also got a cup of soup (literally in a coffee cup) that was decent, I am feeling that dinner could be ok. Wrong.
My girl ordered a chicken dish, her mom ordered the halibut, and I ordered the jambalaya. My dish was warm...almost room temperature. I didn't say anything cause it isn't that big of a deal for me. However, my girls chicken was kind of cold and her moms halibut with mashed potatoes were kind of cold as well. We tell the waitress, she apologizes and takes the food back. When she returns, the chicken in hot but the halibut still not so. Then the waitress avoided us.
She might have been embarassed or something, but to flat out ignore us is wrong. She did just that. Overall, the experience was lackluster. My dish, besides being tepid, was kind of uninteresting. Somewhat bland even.
If you are in Lakewood, you could probably hit up something else...like Red Lobster.

I like to come here and sit at the bar. They have always had good bartenders and the food is pretty yummy for a bar!
At night is better for me than than during the day... to many biz people.
We used to go here in big groups and take over!!
Good late night crowd! I like to come here from time to time. -

OK, I'm upping the rating to four stars. Just ate the most delicious burger and it was only $5! You'll probably find me here every Sunday sometime between 5-8 p.m. for this special, very budget-wise!

This is that nice-looking place on the west side of Union Blvd. in Lakewood, with that awesome eight-foot torch flaring away in the breeze out front. Somehow, I'd always notice the place because of that when passing along that strip of road between 6th Avenue and Alameda. And after visiting Chad's a few times, I can say that it's a decent and relaxing place to go if you're sick of everything else or simply want somewhere new.
Chad's offers a kind of generally American menu, but with some Italian, Cajun, and Mexican thrown in for good measure. Soup, salad, steak, pasta, pizza and burgers are the main choices here, and I was reasonably pleased with what I've had here. It's nothing extraordinary, but it's still somewhat opulent and competently tasty food.
My introduction to the place was their Cajun jambalaya. It's robust and dazzling in that tropical, Cajun sort of way, and the brown rice, crawfish, veggies, and chicken are all distributed with even and distinct flavor. The Cajun Monica is also good, being a mild but wholesome creamy Cajun-flared pasta with those fun three-colored rotini noodles. The 'Grown-Up Mac 'n Cheese' is an interesting twist on this ubiquitous American simplicity, and the 'Hills of Rome' pizza is a nice authentically-Italian inspired pizza creation. There are also some festive salads and good American-styled appetizer choices, though nothing that really stands out from the rest. Then there's the bar, which I guess is good simply because it contains the usual oh-so winning trifecta of a shiny bar-top, plenty of variety and good-looking girls bartending all the while. Psh, probably fancy stools too, at this point. Take their word on it though, as I'm only nineteen, so I have no idea how it feels to sit there and throw 'em back at Chad's.
Prices are going to be in the $7-$12 dollar range for your appetizer(s), and entrees are in the teens, though nothing is over $20, if I recall correctly. So yeah, this place is certainly holding its own, it seems, and the generally satisfying flavors here are unquestioned by me. I give this a mere three, just because the dishes are good, but not addictingly good. Three stars isn't necessarily a bad rating in my book anyway, so check out Chad's sometime when it's a close and convenient choice for the dining patrons. -

This place is okay. Not really great or exciting about it. I came here on while on a business trip. Would not go out of my way to come here again.

Chad's will be easily forgotten for me. Mediocre service, food, and atmosphere. The only reason for a return visit is if I were working in one of the office buildings surrounding 6th ave and Simms and only had an hour for a business lunch. The happy hour is from 3 to 6, they should consider making 4 to 7 or 5 to 7, That way some people might have more of a reason to go there and get the food.

I was really disappointed with almost every aspect of this place. The food was expensive and not very tasty. I had Buffalo Meatloaf and the gravy was horrible and not only was meat bland it was also very dry. The service was slow and not very cheery. The place was packed and noisy. I had high hopes due to the fact that every time you drive by they seem to have a large number of cars in the parking lot. I went wife my wife and her parents and everyone came away with the same felling....not bad but very disappointing.

Denver, CO
Our server was at the end of a 12 hour shift so we were pretty rushed to order, eat and pay our bill. The food was mediocre. One of those menus where it all seems fairly eh so it's hard to decide on what to order. My buffalo meatloaf was so so. Probably wouldn't return.

Chad's has a limited menu but tasty. They are a little on the pricey side for their portion sizes. Great bar atmosphere after the Denver West Business crowd leaves. If you want a night out on the town, take 6th Ave into Denver or Golden.
