Do you ever wish you could dial it back a few years? I don't mean to the 1950's or the Summer of Love or Disco Fever, but just a little bit. Maybe far enough to sell short on webvan-dot-com or not get that one haircut right before the reunion.
Or at least far enough back to get your drugs and personal care stuff from someplace that hadn't been swallowed up by the RiteAid & Walgreens monsters? Well you won't be going to Long's or Thrifty again but if you want sincerely great service and an array of quality products, you can't do better than Central Drug. Prescriptions are filled quickly & competently and everything from first aid kits to souvenirs can be found in a pleasant and sane environment.
The only thing the place is lacking is a soda fountain but you can duck around the corner to Blueplate to satisfy that particular jones. -

When you walk inside, you escape the buzz of the Pioneer Square area, and are transported to what feels like a close-knit neighborhood pharmacy. The pharmacists have the right mix of friendliness and professionalism. They go out of their way to help you and have you in-and-out in usually less than 15 minutes. They even have popcorn for while you wait. This place is great! I wouldn't want to go anywhere else.

Central Drug is the best. When I had to go out of town and refill a prescription at Walgreen's, I felt like I was cheating on someone. First of all, it's local and you should always shop local, especially awesome local stores. This place is so superlative, I don't even care that they are not open on weekends.
The pharmacists are friendly and knowledgeable. They are located on kind of a skeevy corner, but they don't take any shit from the people who blow in from the street to be assholes. The entire staff is kind to the old, the crazy and the office ladies with hangovers (me).
Speaking of office ladies, they offer a 10% discount to people who work downtown. They carry generics to name brands, hippie pills, teas, soaps, deodorant, tampons (thank god), ankle braces and energy drinks.
The pharmacists and the dudes behind the counter remember the regulars and make your drug buying experience just as easy as it was in college! -

I love this drug store. They carry both alternative and regular pharmaceuticals. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I come in here to get Airborne, that awesome fizzy tablet that helps to keep colds away, and natural cough syrup and Ibuprofen, because, well, I don't know of any natural remedy that works like Ibuprofen. Anyway, I think this drug store is everything a drug store should be. And, the location is very convenient, right on the bus mall.
