Liked the food, not crazy about the portion size - tiny!

I really liked almost every entree we ordered- Crispy Spicy Catfish is a must try.  I would not under normal circumstance eat catfish, but this is so good!  Not very spicy, but the oyster sauce with basil and pepper is amazing.  Chicken Panang was very good, nothing special, but solid dish.  Spicy Eggplant was very good too, again, not really spicy, but the eggplant was cooked perfectly, not overcooked and soggy like some Chinese restaurants.  Bf also got a beef dish, forgot which one, it was ok, not bad but nothing to rave about.

Now the portion size is not big.  They charge $11 or something like that for the eggplant, and you get very small portion for a veggie dish.  I have had bigger lunch portions at some Thai places.

I would go back for the catfish, and the decent wine selection with many bottles less than $30.  It's not a restaurant for the value seeker, but it does have good tasting food.

PROS: staff was very friendly and helpful.  the decor is nice. very busy restaurant.

CONS: pricey. but with the word 'Fine' in their name.. i expected that. the only reason I went here is because I had a $25 gift certificate from http://Restaurant.com that I bought for $1. My dish was good.. my girlfriend's dish was so plain and terrible.. it was ONE porkchop on a plate.. unflavored/seasoned.. and the other half of the plate was a huge piece of lettuce. there was some sauce to dip the porkchop into.. but it was so plain/bland. def not worth the $12 for that dish.

i wouldn' go back

I went here for dinner Saturday night.

They had a woman singing and playing the keyboard- it made it a lot fancier and gave it a bit of a lounge vibe. It was a bit loud, but she tok breaks, so it was tolerable. I felt as if I was definitely under dressed- I mean, I was in a nice pair of jeans, heels, and a simple (but decent) shirt... but I was definitely not dressed as nicely as everyone else was. Most times I've come here- even for dinner- it hasn't been like this. Next time I go back I will have to ask if that goes on every Saturday...

Shared the appetizer sampler- everything was good, although I had to eat the dried beef with sauces- I couldn't take it by itself. The pad se ew was lovely, again. I introduced my friend to Chinese broccoli- they had always had eaten in restaurants that had served it with American broccoli.

Also tried a dessert- the sweet sticky rice with egg custard. The rice was great- sweet, nice and sticky, with just a hint of saltiness to contrast with the sweet egg custard.

This has quickly become one of my staples for dependable, moderately priced Thai food in Fairfax.

This place is a hidden gem on Route 50.   Don't be fooled by the outside appearance.  Inside, it has a nice decor and the food is amazing.   I had the Tom Khar Ghai, mini rolls & the Pad Thai.   As a fan of Pad Thai, I've had it all over the area.  At Cee Fine, the portions are generous and the taste is spot on.   Definitely recommend this restaurant.

Why do I keep listening to the #$%$^ Washington Post?

Laziest service I've ever seen. FLAVORLESS mini rolls, fried veg spring rolls, tom yum soup, sizzling seafood and salmon curry. Zero flavor, way overcooked and sugary.

We should have gone to Bangkok Bistro but I thought going to the suburbs = authentic. Gag.

I've been meaning to write this update for a dew weeks, but you know how busy life can get sometimes.  I've gone to 3 parties at CEE recently.  My friend had a party for her husband and she reserved the back room, the food was great and so was the service, it is nice to have a gathering place where you don't feel rushed and the food and beverages are good on top of it.  Since that party 2 other friends have had parties there, I'll be having one soon myself!

After picking up my just arrived lamps from the Lamps and Lighting Gallery at Fairfax Circle, I was headed home. It was getting late and I was hungry enough that I did not want to wait to get home to Haymarket and then cook up something.

So I stopped in at Cee Fine Thai Dining.  Recalling that it received good reviews on Yelp - I was all about some fine Thai dining!

There was only one other table eating when I arrived. I quickly ordered the Tom Yum with shrimp, the Papaya salad, and the Kee Mao Gai.

The salad and soup were brought out together. The papaya and carrots were fresh and crunchy, although the dressing was just a tad on the to sweet side - it could have been a little heavier on the lime/citrus flavor. The soup was outstanding. It did have a few small chunks of inedible Lemongrass stalks in it - but it was soooooo good, I could have drank a gallon of the broth and been happy.

Last but not least - the Kee Mao Gai was brought out. It was topped with a healthy sprig of fresh Thai Basil. I picked the leaves off and threw them into the mix.

This dish was succulent. The noodles were almost melting in my mouth. There was this slight taste of char to it, like something you'd get on a Charcoal grill. The chicken was excellent in this dish, It could have been spicier, but I forgot to order extra spicy.

In spite of the three things I mentioned, it was a great meal!

Got some takeout from Cee today and I was pleasantly surprised.  Ever since moving to Fairfax I had been a huge fan of Courtside Thai and never wanted to try any other thai restaurant.  But today I decided to try Cee because parking at Courtside can be a pain in the ass.
Got tom yum mushroom soup and chicken red curry (extra hot).  The soup was spicy and tangy, just the way I like it and the curry was sweet, tangy and incredibly spicy.  Overall the food was great.
The only problem is the price.  The decor inside makes it look like a very nice restaurant but the food isn't any better than Courtside and Courtside is also cheaper.  They did have a thai appetizer and wine pairing night coming up on May 5th which sounds intriguing.

Overall: 4

What a pleasant surprise from a place that is not too far away from a Harley Davidson dealership. I was anticipating a typical Thai lunch, but had a remarkable meal instead.

Inside, instead of decorating in bright gem tones, the decor is instead comprised of muted colors like a dark green and brick red. The dark furniture adds to a stylish space.

I was tempted to order the Pad Thai. It was listed on the menu as one of the most popular entree, but isn't that the case at every Thai restaurant? Instead I ordered the chicken satay. It was moist and juicy, and there was a ton of it. Oh, and I received two sauces with it:--the typical peanut and also a sweet cucumber sauce.

I split the satay with my lunch-mate, and ate part of her chicken with green curry and noodles. It was nicely spiced without being too overwhelming. This month, Cee is hosting Thai food and wine pairing events every Friday and Saturday night. I will just have to go back for that

this joint is avg at best.  don't quite understand their "fine dining" concept.  the food was just ok... service was fine.  the prices were just about the same as other thai places like tara or neisha.

someone recommended the spicy catfish.  i ordered it desiring something similar to what thai pilin in tysons serves, but it was more like sweet & sour catfish, deeply battered

The food is great, and they are one of the few places who are not afraid to make something "Thai hot" if you ask for it. It is pricey, and the service is meh.

This place would have been a 5 star if it wasn't for the price.  It was close to $10 for lunch!  I thought that it was a little expensive, although very tasty!  I always get the same thing the first time i go to thai restaurants (Pad See Ew) and it was really good.  There was the perfect amount of sauce on it and i was pleasantly surprised that there was not really any left on the plate when i was done.   I was slightly disapointed that the default was chinese broccoli, while i prefer American broccoli, i'm not opposed to chinese.

They do have pretty good lunch specials.  I think it was like $8 for a dish and appetizer, however none of the dishes appealed to me at all!    Maybe if I liked seafood it would have been better :)

This is what it's come to...my wife is recommending we try a new restaurant for dinner, adding in the qualifier, "Besides, you need a new place to review on Yelp!"

Well this wasn't a bad one. Cee Fine Thai Dining offered a very positive initial dining experience. Can't say anything bad about this place.

We started with an appetizer, a little treat called "Golden Sacks". These consisted of minced pork, shrimp, carrots, and baby corn wrapped in some fried wonton type coating, each of which was tied off like a little sack, and served with a sweet and sour type sauce. Creative and tasty.

The entrees were good, and the portions generous. I wasn't feeling very adventurous on a culinary level, so I stuck to my Thai standby, Pad Thai. I was not disappointed. My wife was happy with her shrimp curry...which one she got specifically I don't recall.

We even kept ourselves amused while we waited for our food. Seems that every Friday and Saturday night, they have wine tastings of several wines. If you'd like to buy any of the wines you taste, you can fill out a little form to give your server, and they add it to your check.

Lastly, I've gotta give props for the service, which was outstanding. All of the staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. And the atmosphere was also nice. They've done a very nice job inside a building that looks like it might have been a Hardee's in a past life.

NOTE: I guess I'm not going to get any funny votes for this review either. Man, writing funny reviews is hard work.

Papaya salad is subpar, but their soft shell crab chef special is alright.  Although I've asked for extra spicy it doesn't work for me.
I will go back for some curry.  Hopefully it will change my mind.  It's hard to find a good Thai restaurant in this area.

I was craving Thai food and I have driven by this place a few times.  I decided to get some takeout.  But tonight was one of the few times the Hulk made its appearance.  Yes, I am a mild mannered nerdy guy who turns into a big green guy when pissed off.

What I usually do is order a couple of things and then split it up into a couple of meals.  I ordered the Cee crispy rolls, Paper's Moon, Spicy Crispy Catfish, and Drunken noodles.  The Cee crispy rolls were good but it was 6 dollars for about 5 mini eggrolls.  Come on.  Getting slightly annoyed.   The Paper's Moon were not a very good attempt at crab rangoons/cheese wontons.  They weren't very big and didn't taste all that great.  Annoyance level rising.  The Spicy Crispy Catfish consisted of a few pieces of breaded catfish stir-fried with basil leaves and peppercorn.  This dish suffered from a lack of substance and a lack of flavor.  It had a medium spice level, but spicy does not equal flavor.  This dish was 15 dollars for what would feed maybe 1/2 a person.  Getting mad.  And to finish off the meal, I washed it all down with the drunken noodles.  The noodles had no flavor and tasted as if they had been stir fried in no sauce at all.  There was some heat to it, but again, spicy does not equal flavorful.  11 dollars.  Hulk angry.

The place looked very clean and provided outdoor seating.  The restaurant was decorated very nicely.  However, I did not eat here.

To recap, I basically spent 40 dollars on a meal that I ate in one seating.  Hulk Pissed Off, Hulk Smash table.  Hulk tear up takeout menu.  Not a very good value for what you pay.

Cee is a very nice relaxing and tastefully decorated Thai restaurant readily accessible to folks around Fairfax Circle. It is next to Fairfax High School and Esposito's Italian restaurant. (also nice) They recently have begun some Thai cooking classes, which I was fortunate enough to enjoy on Sunday with my husband and 4 other friends. They set us up outside as it was a beautiful morning, each with a gas burner, pots, utensils, rubber gloves and printed recipes. Despite the language difficulties, we were able to make 2 yummy dishes, sit down all together at a nice table, and eat our meal with the basmati rice they fixed in the kitchen. The chef and his sister the owner did the instruction, and even sent us home with some of the rarer ingredients for us to practice cooking at home. It was loads of fun and very educational. They have a website if you are interested in looking up the schedule and which recipes they teach and when. (http://www.ceefinethai...) I would also recommend you go just for dinner as the food is fabulous, and they have a cute patio for outdoor dining in nice weather. The wine list is also surprisingly  extensive. The only fallback might be the wait staff. As nice and accommodating as our last waitress was, she didn't seem to know much about any wines at all and even brought us the wrong one the first time. All in all, a fun and yummy place to eat and even learn how to cook the stuff you like best.

Me and my wife went there for our anniversary dinner. One of the best papaya salad we have ever had. The red curry was kinda bland but the drunken noodles were awesome. Great seating and ambiance. Wish we could sit outside but it was raining. Recommended! I like the location and they have ample parking.

Had the pad thai and pad see yu.  Both had good flavor and ingredients.  Pad see yu was authentic with chinese broccoli.  I would give the place 5 stars if it weren't for the price.  I think its pricey for noodles ($12).  I would expect to pay around $7.  My favorite place is still Rod dees in Brookline, MA... yes.. cheap and good!  about $6 for a plate of pad thai or pad see yu.  Of course this review is about Cee... :)  There's about 3 things that are important to me: taste, price, and cleanliness.  Of course I only tried 2 dishes but I would have to give them 5 stars for taste.  For price, I would give them 2 stars as I feel that they are on the high side.  For cleanliness, I'd give them 4 stars.

I went here for the first time the other day because my fiance and I had a coupon for a free entree.  The place is really nicely decorated.  It was too cool and rainy to sit outside, but the outdoor seating area looked like it would be nice on a warmer day.  The food was good and served in pretty large portions, but it did seem a little on the pricey side.  The service was great!

went here yesterday with my parents (since they were visiting from out out town and we'd been wanting an excuse to try this place) and my husband.  i got larb which i get a lot at thai places.  unfortunately it seemed to be loaded with salt?  i also got satay since i remembered other yelpers raving about it and it was good! i liked the 2 sauces that came with it.  my husband got a red curry dish that he really liked.  my mom got a sweet and sour chicken dish that she loved.  the balance of sweet and sour seemed to be perfect.  not sickeningly sweet and just the right amount of tang.  my dad got a chicken dish that i'm not remembering right now but he ate every last bit.  i sampled everyone's dishes and everything was very good.  the service was great too.  very friendly staff.  we'd definitely come here again, i just wouldn't get the larb next time.

OK - So my girlfriend and I went here tonight.  At first I walked in and was impressed, I like an Asian restaurant that tries.  It was much nicer than most hole in the walls I have become accustomed to.  They had a live one-woman show playing piano, and she was louder than the Blue Oyster Cult.  We had to move because of the noise.  We moved and ordered the Paper's Moon.  They were not that great of crab rangoons.  I ordered Green Curry and my gf ordered panang.  When the green curry came out, it looked very appealing and when I tasted it is was very spicy.  AWESOME!...  The Panang was also very good.  OK, so why am I giving this a bad review?  Because mid way through eating, I found a dead GRASSHOPPER cooked in my food.  I almost puked.  I could not believe it.  I showed my girlfriend and she confirmed.  We called over the manager, he looked at it, poked it and took the food back to the kitchen.  He came back, comped the entire meal and apologized profusely.  He handled it pretty well.  I actually felt bad.  He said the buy huge amounts of basil, and it probably made its way into the food that way.  Regardless, I am heartbroken.
