Review from Nio S.
This was our Thanksgiving weekend get away even though we live about 30 minutes from home. My wife surprised me with this place and mentioned that it was considered one of the best hotels in the world......really in the world? in SeaTac? Her words became a reality when we arrived. Just the registration lobby alone was amazing, even on a wet ugly gloomy night this place made all of that go away. The place was super clean and well placed interior design. The next day when the weather was a tiny bit sunny I got up and walked around....seriously if I could do my wedding over again, this place would have been one of my choices for the northwest. Aside from our beautiful room and comfortable bed....all guest get free bottled water, yogurt, chips, chocolate malt balls, and Haggen Daz Ice Cream......yes, ice cream!! All available in 2 lobbys of the hotel.......I gotta stop calling this place a hotel, it felt more like a resort to me! Oh I forgot to mention that majority of the stuff used in this hotel is "green" friendly which was another thumbs up in my book.
So for those who wanna get away but not to far or just landing in Seattle for a few days, I recommend this place 110%. Worth every dollar! This will be our local get away from here on out! -

The hubby and I chose to stay here for the weekend since we planned on going to the Museum of Glass in Tacoma. We thought it would be a closer drive than staying in Seattle.
I highly recommend this hotel if you have a rental car and are planning on visiting different cities in the area. If you plan on spending most of your time in Seattle, it is a bit of a drive into Seattle (about 20 minutes), and you might want to find some place to stay in Seattle and avoid a car rental all together. Seattle is a fairly walkable city.
That being said, we would definitely stay at Cedarbrook Lodge again. The entire staff was pleasant and responded promptly to our needs. The rooms were cozy, and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was also nicely sized. If you are staying here as a part of a business trip, there is a nice sized desk for working, and plenty of storage space for clothing if you're here for an extended work trip.
There is also a communal living room area for each lodge with a refrigerator to store any leftovers you might have from eating out. There is also a microwave in the communal living area for rewarming said leftovers. The hotel also stocks the area with snacks (chips, fruit, candies, yogurt, cheese, ice cream, and water) for you to enjoy as a part of the room rate. I will say though that there seemed to be a chip bandit the weekend we stayed, as every time they filled the basket up with chips, it seemed to be quickly emptied.
In addition to the snacks provided, there is a daily continental breakfast provided as a part of the room rate as well. They provided a nice variety of breads, pastries, and fruit. There was also cereals, salmon, and hard boiled eggs provided as a part of the breakfast. Also, I wanted peanut butter for my toast instead of butter, and the wait staff was more than willing to accommodate my request for peanut butter.
This hotel is also a nice place to stay if you are local and just looking to get away from home and relax for the weekend. The grounds are pleasantly landscaped, and I would have loved to wander around them more if it weren't cold the weekend we stayed.
All in all, we had a pleasant stay at the Cedarbrook Lodge. -

I found this place right after it opened. I guess it used to be a corporate training center/retreat for WaMu but when they went away it was sold. It is very close to the airport but you would never know it - it's more like a resort than a hotel and is surrounded by trees and hidden from view.
The rooms are not huge but nicely furnished and CLEAN. Each building has a "family room" with tables and chairs (see the photos), a fridge stuffed with goodies (such as Haagen Daz!, water, malt balls), and TV. I have held impromptu short meetings in these rooms and it was very comfy and quiet.
The gym is clean and has treadmills, steppers, bikes, free weights and 6 different machines.
The restaurant is AMAZING (see other review for Copper Leaf), and the free breakfast and free wifi just make it even better.
Even when I have work in Tacoma or downtown Seattle I stay here. This is one of my favorite hotels anywhere. Love it. -

What a hidden gem! I've stayed here multiple times for business, and it is one of the nicest hotels in Seattle. If you need to be close to SeaTac Airport, the Cedarbrook has no competition. Even if you have business downtown, the Cedarbrook would still be high on my list. Their restaurant is world-class, and the rooms are beautiful.

Oh my goodness this place is GREAT! Very friendly service both at the front desk and bar, extremely comfortable room, and FREE TREATS in the common room. I did not get much of a chance to walk tohe grounds, but I am told they are very nice.
My only small issue was that most of the food on the bar menu was very heavy- it would have been nice to have a ouple of lighter options t choose from for those of us just having a casual quick bite by ourselves. -

At 8-months pregnant, I was looking for a relaxing retreat that wouldn't break the bank. I found Cedarbrook Lodge online and was impressed with their website and all the great reviews on Yelp, so I decided to book a room for my solo getaway last weekend. It was everything I had wanted, and MORE! The rate was very reasonable (got a AAA discount of $109/night), and it made it even better that breakfast was complimentary as well as the 24-hour snacks. And I took full advantage of the Haagen Daz ice cream late at night!! The staff was very friendly and helpful, everything was clean and beautifully decorated for Christmas, and the grounds outside were a treat to stroll around.
Don't be put off by the location.... I was skeptical at first with it being in SeaTac, but it really felt far away and secluded. I could see the airport in the far distance but the noise from the airplanes was barely noticeable. It was nice to be able to get away to a lodge but not have to drive too far and spend a lot of money as I would have for other options. I would highly recommend Cedarbrook Lodge (and the lounge....yummy dinner at a great price!) to anyone who wants to sneak away. Great for a solo retreat, girls weekend, or romantic couple getaway. I think my husband and I are going to try to escape there once baby #2 arrives and life is a little more predictable! -

This place is great to say at but it has some pros and cons.
Pro: Free Snack, water, ice cream, internet, parking, and breakfast. Place is very clean and the bathroom soap bar is better than most. Free pool table in the bar and gym is amazing.
Cons: No refrigerator, room was small for what you pay. The bed is only a queen bed and the curtains don't keep all the light out in the morning. When people close their doors it is very loud and kept me up at night. No jacuzzi.
I had a issue with the suite next to us had a connecting door but was supposed to be locked. At midnight someone opened the door and started to enter our room. This woke us up from our sleep and I yelled out to who that was and they shut the door. This was very creepy and as I said before the doors were very loud all night and every time I heard one I kept thinking someone was entering our room.
I tried to extend my stay for a few more days from the weekend to the week and the price was almost double from what my holiday weekend price was. -

My husband and I wanted a quiet retreat from our crazy lives for our 1 year anniversary. When we booked into Cedarbrook Lodge we were expecting a nice getaway.
I honestly can say we got WAY more than "nice."
The room we got was spacious, the bathrooms clean and beautiful and that soaker tub heavenly. Not to mention they had lovely toiletries.
The staff here really do go above and beyond, and it is reflected in the stunning landscaping, the peaceful atmosphere and the very happy smiling guests you see milling about!
The lounge rooms are well stocked with books, a TV, free water, yogurt, fruit, icecream, chips, string cheese, and candy, which was a lovely touch. You could also use the big comunal fridge if you had any leftovers.
In addition, the hotel is close to public transport and seattle is very close.
If I could I would give this place more than 5 stars because they truly do deserve it. I have been to places way more expensive and "exclusive" and haven't received this kind of courtesy and consideration...
We will be back -
Review from Holly K.
I can safely say, I have stayed at hotels all over the world and this one is in the top best five, easily. The place is spotless inside and out. We arrived at noon on a Thursday and even though check in is supposed to be at 4pm, they gave us the key. The front desk was very friendly and gave us maps for downtown Seattle.
Heading to our room, which was not in the main building, we saw flowering trees and walking trails through the wetlands area. Once to our room, it was a good size. There were 2 queen beds and a long desk along the wall with two desk chairs and a very comfy oversized chair next to the wall of window overlooking the wetlands area.
Each floor has a 'living room' with fireplace and couch to sit and do work and in the same area is the free Haagen Dazs ice cream, the freezer crammed full of various flavors, that alone should get any hotel a five star rating. Hello Ice cream coma. The fridge was full of yogurt and cheese sticks, plus the mini fridges along the wall had bottled water, which was always stocked full. The counters had fresh fruit and a self serve candy station, where you could scoop it out and put it on a plate to take to your room, once again, hello candy coma.
The bathroom is very spacious and tub is really oversized, like they say on the website, it is a big ole soaker tub.
The complimentary breakfast was worth dragging out of bed for, too, smoked salmon, bagels, muffins and, can't believe I am saying this, the oatmeal was really good, with a bunch of mix ins next to it. I am not an oatmeal person, but this was pretty good.
This hotel strives to be green and it shows in a lot of little ways. The distance to downtown Seattle is not bad, we did it in under ten minutes. We will definitely be going back.Listed in: Hotels

Couldn't imagine a more perfect place and great value to spend a few days in Seattle. Everything was exceptional and incredibly clean. The continental breakfast was also decent enough to make us miss trying some other local spots!

Hands down best hotel I've ever been to. Went last summer for a birthday trip and couldn't believe how nice and new the place was. Not sure if the prices have changed since then, but it was rather cheap and they offered a great discount for "going green" and not having room service come in each day to tidy up. Grounds are absolutely beautiful, well-maintained and surprisingly quiet and secluded for being so proximal to the airport. One of our favorite spots on site was the bar, which was well stocked and inviting. Food was great too. Nothing but excellent things to say about every aspect of this place... first on my list if/when I find myself in Seattle again.

Seattle, WA
Let me start off by saying I absolutely love the common area with free candies, yogurt, cheese, water, and Haagen Dazs ICE CREAM.
Anyway, this place is a hidden gem in SeaTac. Who woulda thunk such a beautiful lodge existed right by the airport? There's beautiful artwork here and there done by local artists, big rooms, quiet location, wonderful service, awesome gym, and really good complimentary breakfast (croissants, danish, smoked salmon and capers, bagels, oatmeal with lots of toppings to choose from....) Some things that my mom complained about: the bath tub was dirty, they do not have rollaway beds, and there's only one entrance to each building which was a little inconvenient. But these were things that didn't particularly bother me. I'd definitely come back again! -

This review is for the Cooperleaf Restaurant at Cedarbrook. Our family has never dined out for Thanksgiving dinner and went to Cedarbrook this year for a change of pace. Our party ranged in age from 4 to 91 and everything in between.
Everything from the amuse bouche to the amazing chestnut soup to the main courses was beyond delicious. People had chosen everything from a traditional turkey dinner to cod to shortribs, and there were raves from every single person at the table.
The staff was amazing, and particularly our main contact Peter. He explained everything in detail, answered a bevvy of questions, and was always available and nearby (without hovering ;) And he was as gracious to our 4 year old daughter's unending questions as he was to Grandma.
So kudos and beyond to Copperleaf, Cedarbrook, and Peter :) We were definitely thankful to be there on such a special day. -

Woohoo! As good as it gets!
Cedarbrook Lodge was such a welcome and unexpected breath of fresh air. The grounds are quaint and well-maintained. It is a hidden oasis just minutes from the airport, but unlike any hotel near the airport I've ever stayed at. It is tucked away behind some wetlands, and other than the air traffic tower you can see from a distance, you would never know that you were right by the airport.
The rooms were clean and spacious. We got the suite, and it was nearly as big as our apartment at home. There was a desk, fireplace, separate seating area, and tons of storage space. We really like the "living room" that was in each building that provided free snacks around the clock. There was a full-size fridge stocked with bottled water, Yoplait yogurt, and Hagen Daaz ice cream. Free! There was also a basket of Tim's potato chips and a candy bar for you to help yourself to. I almost felt guilty taking advantage of this amenity.
We were able to connect to wi-fi from our room, but there is also a business center if you need to use a computer. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to try the restaurant, but it looked good.
The only criticism I have of the hotel is that the wood construction doesn't insulate sound very well. If there are guests above you, you will hear them walking around. I was lucky in that there was no one above us, but my parents had a family with kids above her and she had trouble sleeping because of all the noise.
Overall, though, a great hotel and a fantastic value. We will definitely be staying here again on future trips to Seattle! -
Review from Jim W.
I had the good (mis)fortune of a week long (very long) corporate retreat here at the Cedarbrook Center, formerly owned and operated by WAMU. If I was traveling with family in tow, this would not be the place to stay. For corporate events, retreats, conferences and general business travel, Cedarbrook is outstanding.
The staff is top notch. Service varied from very good to tremendous. Seriously. I've stayed at a few places known for service (see my review of the Waldorf Astoria) and the staff at Cedarbrook measures up just fine.
Take a few minutes to chat with Abdul, the bellhop. He'll give you some nice insights on world travel destinations, sports or whatever your interest is.
As we were practically sequestered, we took most meals here. The dinners outshone the other meals...they were pretty good. Breakfast was a buffet style affair and somewhat better than average.
A few things you should be aware of:
-none of the staff accept tips. Period. (this may change with ownership/mgmt changes)
-there is currently no wifi in the rooms, just a cat 5 hookup (they will provide a cable)
-each building has an open area with a fireplace, TV and seating area as well as free refreshments and snacks.
-each buildings above mentioned seating area is stocked at night with a variety of 1/2 sandwiches, milk, cereals, yogurt, etc. In other words a perfect late night snack on the house.
-Cedarbrook is back in a neighborhood so there is little to walk to and the neighborhood, while perfectly safe, is a bit blah.
-all accessories for meetings are at the ready and top-notch...projectors, conference rooms, etc. -

Perhaps I am in a unique position to review Cedarbrook.... We had our wedding at Cedarbrook and have been dealing with them in detail for over a year.
Now granted I have only had one wedding, but the people and staff at Cedarbrook were extremely accommodating to making our day exactly how we wanted. We were assigned a specific person to help us along the way and she was available via email and by phone whenever we needed.
The food and chef's here are amazing. At our wedding we had them make up a few custom dishes, one was a macaroni and cheese type dish with cheeses made from Beecher's cheeses (which is a local cheese company here in Seattle), also a smoked applewood chicken, and a steak dish. All came with sides, and all of the dishes were extremely good. When we had our tasting there the chef personally came out and asked us if we wanted anything different, any modifications to the dishes, etc.
The atmosphere here was exactly what we were looking for. It sort of has a modern/rustic fusion with lots of wood and a very nice landscaped grounds. The hotel rooms are very nice as well, top notch. They have a common area with a loaded refrigerator stocked with waters, juices, various ice creams, yogurt, as well as various kinds of malt balls/yogurt covered pretzels.... all complementary! you cant beat that.
The staff at Cedarbrook goes out of their way to make everything top notch. We had dozens of people staying there for our wedding and many of our wedding guests commented how nice the staff was and how they made the stay very pleasant, above and beyond.
So... if you are considering Cedarbrook for a special occasion like a wedding, or if you are considering them for any event I would highly recommend. The staff and services they provide are top notch. Even just to stay at a hotel near the airport..... 100% recommended. If I could give Cedarbrook 6 stars, I would. -

I booked a suite at Cedarbrook to stay the night before the wedding, as well as to have a central location for all of my bridesmaids and family to come to have their hair and makeup done before the wedding. Cedarbrook is a SeaTac hotel that doesn't look or feel like an airport hotel! The grounds are relaxing, and the suite was perfect! They even have a lounge in every building with complimentary fruit, snacks, ice cream and water - what a treat!! A couple of my bridesmaids had problems with their room (3 adults in a room with 1 queen bed and a chair?) that resulted in a bit of stress, but it was rectified after escalation. I'll be recommending Cedarbrook going forward, as a reasonably priced central airport.

After reading the glowing reviews on http://TripAdvisor.com and that they earned the #1 spot for domestic hotels, I wanted to check out Cedarbrook Lodge. I booked a room for the Saturday before Valentine's Day. Given the holiday weekend, and the recent press, my expectations were somewhat lowered. My wife and I were in for a very nice surprise.
Members of the staff, to a person, were very welcoming and helpful. The communal "living rooms" were always well stocked with everything we needed/wanted, while the rooms were cozy, and well appointed. Knowing that this was a former corporate retreat helped us understand the size of the guest rooms. Our only dissappointment came when we went to the bar to play pool. The billiards table is setup in the center of the rather small bar area with no room for the cue while you're taking a shot. The close proximity to other patron's, who are enjoying their meals/drinks, made us give up and return to our room before we even entered the bar. This is literally the only complaint we had.
The continental breakfast was spectacular. The bed was comfortable, the property laid out well, and the overall ambiance calming. Exactly what we needed for a relaxing retreat. -

Close to the Airport, but tucked away from the really busy area. They have a great shuttle service and very friendly employees. The atmosphere in the lodge is great and relaxing. It's a preferred place to stay in the SEATAC area.

My wife and I attended a couples "retreat" at the Cedarbrook last weekend. We had heard that this place was very nice, etc. but did not really know what to expect.
Upon arrival, we were amazed at how spectacularly designed the grounds and buildings are! This place is simply amazing! Especially since it is hidden in the Sea Tac area. Not an area where you would expect to find a high end resort like this! It has a Scandinavian design feel to it, with light colored wood, beam-work in the ceilings, rock fireplaces and airy open spaces with alot of windows.
Everything about our stay was 5 star. The food was exceptional. Well prepared with natural ingredients, amazing deserts and plenty of it with the buffet. The service was friendly and accommodating and exceptional overall. As one other reviewer noted; There is a lounge area in each of the lodging buildings that is stocked with ice cream bars, candies, chips, drinks, etc. that is part of your stay and on the house. I was very surprised at that level of convenience and accommodation. You won't go away hungry!
The views are outstanding, the grounds are extremely well kept and our room was very quiet, comfortable and relaxing.
I simply cannot say enough about how wonderful our stay was here!!
I definitely recommend coming here for a weekend getaway or for a group. You won't be disappointed!! -
