Category: Dry Cleaning & Laundry [Edit]
Neighborhood: LakeviewThey're actually okay when you take into account that you're only paying $2.99 per garment. I don't bring my fancy frocks here, but sure, they can have at my pilly sweaters and standard dress shirts.
Free Starbuck's, too. Be prepared with check or cash only, as upfront payment is required. They're open on Sundays now as well.
Come early, or not at all... otherwise face the plight of a steamed dumpling in a crowded pot. It gets freakishly muggy in here and the fewer customers around the better. Well, slightly :)

Been going here for a year and love them. Honestly, you get what you pay for, so don't bring in your expensive shiz with impossible stains and expect it to come out perfect. I don't own expensive clothes, so fine with me.
They have great hours and extended hours during the summer. Really appreciate the positive attitudes and great customer service, too. It's nice to talk to people who really enjoy their job.
Line gets long at peak hours, but moves fairly quickly. Free Starbucks coffee while you wait.
I know cleaners aren't good for the environment, but they recycle hangers, which is a step in the right direction.
The price is really cheap and you get what you pay for. Used to take all my boyfriends dress shirts here. About one of every 10 shirts would come back with a rip. The money you save here is negated by the money you lose in ruined clothes. This was just my experience.

I live in the Gold Coast and therefore have used their services only a few times since its a bit of a trip for dry cleaning but every time I've been there its been a great experience! Their customer service is excellent! All the employees are friendly and quick. My clothes came back fine and will definitely use them again!
Came here for the first time because I needed to have The Count's tux dry-cleaned and pressed for the Yelp Prom and I needed at least next-day service. Well CD One Price Cleaners (aka Cleaners Depot) to the rescue! I was told that if we have the items in by ten am, we could pick them up after five. I didn't need them that fast, but that is a good thing to know! I was just glad to be able to pick up his tux the next day and they did a very good job with cleaning and pressing both the jacket and pants. The crease in the pants was sharp and perfect! I was very pleased that the courteous and helpful staff member even put the clothing in a double bag on the hanger as it was raining the day I came in to pick it up.
Another cool perk is the free coffee, I didn't partake of any because I was in a hurry but another thing good to know.
The price for the service was outstanding. For a wool blend tuxedo jacket and matching pants our cleaning bill was less than four dollars - that is about half the price of having it cleaned at our regular neighborhood cleaner! HOWEVER...they only take cash or checks, no credit cards AND payment is required up front before the clothes go in. I have never been to a cleaners where the money was due up front, but then I don't dry-clean very often. Anyway that was a wee bit annoying as I didn't have any cash on me so I had to go down the street to the Jewel to get money from the ATM rather than be charged an arm and a leg to use theirs.
Will definitely use again for suits and such. Don't know about delicates, as I have read the other reviews and am leery about bringing my precious delicate items here.

I've been coming here since they opened 6 years ago, and never had any problems. The music is always bumpin, the coffee is always flowin, and the shirts are always steamin'. Ignore the long lines, they move quickly.
Same day service? CHECK
Open early? (6:45am!) CHECK
Friendly service? CHECK
Cheap cheap cheap? CHECK CHECK CHECK

This is the place where I bring all of my thrift store purchases. I will never again give them anything that cost more than $50.
They have ruined numerous clothes of mine. The belt on a cute little dress my best friend bought me in California, DISCOLORED. It doesn't even look like it matches the dress anymore. I will not give them accompanying belts again.
CD stained one of my shirts with their chemicals. Sent it in for "testing". They ended up giving me 6 free dry cleans for my shirt. Thank goodness it came from the Salvation Army.
Winter coats and sweaters all cost the same price. Take them all in at the beginning of the season for a fresh start.

Just to reaffirm what everyone else has said, this is a great no-frills place. This is the Southwest Airlines of dry cleaners.
I have never had a problem, but take note that I would probably not bring my heirloom sweater here or my $5000 D&G suit (..that is, if I had one..). But great deal for what it is and a great, convenient location.

I've had only good experiences here. The price to get a shirt dry cleaned is very affordable. There is always a wait, but they keep the line moving quick and offer free beverages. My clothes are always ready the next day and they haven't lost/damaged an article of clothing since I've been going there (knock on wood).
On one occasion I left a tie in my suit pocket on accident. When I went to pick it up I noticed they had dry cleaned the tie at no additional cost. The only issue I've ever had with them is that they are constantly out of those little pieces that you put in your shirt collar to make it straight.

If you have recently lost weight or by accident bought a size too large then drop it at this cleaner - they automatically shrink everything that is wool, has a lining, is cotton or silk ! They are very affordable for anything you do not value too much.
Way, B.Yond.

I would recommend this place for men's dress shirts or something basic, but don't take anything expensive here. Out of the 10 items I took in, 2 came back with strange stains that weren't there before. My white cropped pants had a huge yellow spot on the leg and a suit jacket ended up with a yellow waterline across the back.
I would take them back and ask for a re-cleaning, but I'm afraid they'll end up worse.
UPDATE: I decided to try to fix the jacket and pants myself. After thoroughly spraying the stain with Shout, I put them in my washer on gentle. BAM! Stains removed. Now why couldn't they manage to do that at the cleaners??

Count your change!
(This is my first review... kind of nervous)
As I'm relatively new to the "real world" and corporate threads, I had never done bulk dry cleaning before and decided to give CD One Price a shot.
First time, they met my expectations- you get what you pay for.
Second time which was today, I was pretty happy, everything came out clean and pressed. I went back one hour after picking up my last batch to drop off another, and they tried to short change me $1.00!...but I politely called them out.
It's not the amount of $ that matters, it's the principal of dishonesty that bothers me. This has been happening quite a bit to me lately in NYC and Chi-town, start counting your change and see how often it happens to you. Usually it's at places where people are working for low wages and could use the extra cash, but I'd rather tip than get ripped.
So 3 stars for quality, and 1 for ethics.

Meh.
They're cheap, but they rush through the clothes so fast that I have yet to ever get the clothes back and NOT make them redo a few shirts.
They do a good job, but it's a hassle always checking my clothes before taking them home.
I wish everything in my life were this simple. I drop off clothing on my way to work in the morning, hand over $2 per item to a friendly person behind the counter. On my way home from work that evening, I give my ticket to a friendly person behind the counter and get my clean clothes. What's not to like?
By the way, it's cash or check only.

Beyond the total bargain this place is, I love it b/c the employees and managers are SOOOOO nice and they have good music playing most of the time. Like someone mentioned, I wouldn't take my very best stuff here, but for the standard cleaning, it's great!

Wicked cheap! It's not going to be perfect, but for real, after you wear a shirt for about 15 minutes, it's going to have a little wrinkle to it anyway. If you can get over the need for absolute perfectionism in dry cleaning, you can save a lot of cash here. I like to go on Saturday mornings and get some free Starbucks while I'm in there.
Unbelievably cheap! But, you get what you pay for! My clothes still smelled like the weekend before nightclub smoke!!! ARGH!!!!!!!

This place gets the job done. Can't beat $2 per item. They're not great with stains but for $2, you can't really be too picky. I've moved from the neighborhood, but still go to this place because it's so cheap and efficient. Oh, and because the manager there is hot! Too bad he's married.
My mom cried for joy when she saw the low prices at this place. Then she tried to convice me to go into the dry cleaning business and open a CD One Price Cleaner outside of her retirement community in Florida. I declined her offer.

You can't beat the price, the location in Lakeview does a much better job than the Uptown location. My only issue is that they never do the cuffs on shirts well, they rush through and they always look wrinkled.
They ripped TWO of my boyfriend's best dress shirts in the same place (elbows) and then refused to pay for it. The manager went through this whole spiel about how he was sure that the shirts' tears were caused by a "manufacturers defect" and therefore could not have been the dry cleaners because their machine wouldn't be able to tear the shirt in that spot. All I know is that those tears were not there when I dropped those shirts off. Thankfully, the shirts were almost brand new and I still had the receipts so I was able to go back to Banana Republic and get a full refund. All I wanted was them to cop to making a mistake and they didn't. What pissed me off most was their denial of responsibility.
I have been using them for about a year now and am generally happy with the quality of dry cleaning. The prices are great! $1.99 for any item. They are great for dress shirts and suits. Expect a line, because any time you go, they're busy. The staff is always friendly and the line moves fairly quick.
Good cleaning at a cheap practice. I only bring everyday items here. There is usually a line and a wait if you go right after work, so try to pop in there at an off time if possible to spare your sellf from teh dizzying racks of clothes!

For $1.99 per item, you can't beat it. Free Starbuck's coffee when you come in. I brought my winter coat in here twice to get it cleaned. They did a great job, especially since it's a white coat!
If you have clothes that simply need to be dry-cleaned, this is the place to go. If you are in by 10 am, you can have your clothes back after 5 pm. It's also one of the CHEAPEST cleaners you'll ever find. I've always found it more worthwhile to take my clothes here than to spend time ironing them at home.
However, if you are trying to get rid of a stain, don't go here. They are pretty much worthless at spot-removal.

i've been going here for some time. the price has gone up a little, but still, $1.99 for any item can't be beat. sweater? $1.99 coats? $1.99. bridesmaids dress? $1.99. if i were a man, i could get my shirts done for a little over a dollar each. i hate to iron, so that sure would be nice. i've never had any problems with quality, although a really stubborn stain is probably not going to get sorted out here.
the staff is very nice, and as someone else mentioned, they've mostly been there a long time, and they seem to like their jobs - helping people out, and doing it zip-zap-quick. in by 10am, out by 5pm holds true most days, barring equipment problems.
final notes:
cash or check only. they have free coffee. you can bring the wire hangers back if you don't use them. it's best to go early in the week or first thing in the morning, in my experience. weekends, as everywhere, tend to be really busy.
Quick, inexpensive and generally the most dependable large dry clean operation in the city.
Better than almost all that might be in your building. They do not have a perfect record, but who does.
Highly recommended.

They do a pretty good job for the cheap price that I pay - I can get all my dress shirts laundered for only 99 cents and they usually send out coupons for each article for only $1.50 - also if you have the Entertainment Book - you can get coupons for each month for 50% - they also do great one day service - in by 10am and you can have it by the end of the day!
I used to live a few blocks away from CD One Price Cleaners, but just moved a mile away. In a city where there is practically a drycleaner on every block, I still take my clothes to CD. The prices are great, but the main reason I go back is for their outstanding customer service. They are always polite, always smiling, and your clothes are always cleaned on time (if not early).
Who can argue with the price. Consistent dry cleaning for everyday items.

Cleaners Depot, CD One Price Cleaners is the cheapest cleaners in the Lakeview neighborhood. Twice a month I walk ten blocks, pass five cleaners to pay the low price of $1.99 per garment at CD (the price increased from $1.50 since the CD first opened).
CD cleans clothes only and no leather. I had my floor length winter wool coat cleaned for $1.99. A hat cleaned for $1.99. A silk blouse cleaned for $1.99. I can have 10 items cleaned for less than $20 compared to only five at the cleaners around the corner from my residence. The cheap price is why the line to Cleaners Depot is always out the door.
