I would recommend this for either a local or a visitor to the area looking to save money on some over-priced, over-extravagant meal. This is a no-frills spot most-certainly worthy of my time.
It's tucked away unassumingly next to a laundromat and Post Office in Carnelian Bay across from the docks and out of sight (and mind) of Gar Woods. There's no unnecessary decoration, sans a huge big-screen television off in the corner of the room (more-than-likely showing a sporting event). They also have a few tables out front with a good-enough view of the Lake (it's across the road), but they were all filled up outside when we went.
The menu is fantastic. It covers traditional pub fare (fried appetizers and burgers and fries - no crinkle fries, either WOO!), as well as an assortment of salads and pizzas. There is also a sandwich section, though I have to take away a star for being a little less-than vegetarian friendly. (Most of the salads and every single sandwich had meat in them. There was, however, a Garden Burger option on the menu. If you are vegan, the salads could be de-cheesed.) They also have wine and beer, and at a very reasonable price. The microbrew pints were under $4, which is UNHEARD OF in Tahoe. Pitchers ranged in price from $11-14 (also, UNHEARD OF in Tahoe).
My boyfriend is born-and-raised in Tahoe and said that he went here a lot with his family while growing up, and I have to assume it's mainly for the extensive menu and fantastic prices (when compared to other eateries in the neighborhood). It's NOT because the food is anything special. It was bar-food, but it wasn't bad by any means.
I had the Greek Salad with Italian Dressing (they didn't have a balsamic dressing!) and the boy had the Chicken Parmesan sub with fries. His fries were fresh and crispy, but a little under-salted (there's salt at the table - who cares). The sub seemed to hit the spot, but it wasn't gourmet or anything. My salad perplexed me when it came out, and it bothered me that they didn't bother to toss it themselves. They just piled all of the ingredients on a TINY plate and expected me to work with that. They also served the dressing in a capped to-go container, which seemed pretty wasteful, considering I was dining-in. I had to spoon half of my salad onto another plate and toss that together, eat that, and then do the other half because the plates were so small. The salad was wonderful, though....the right amount of every ingredient and everything was fresh. It was one of the better Greek Salads I've had.
Another bonus: they brought us frosty mugs for our bottled beer, which was an uber-nice touch.
I see us coming here a lot in the future. They had a special advertised that seemed appealing: a Tecate and a slice of pizza for $5.25. Prices like that will keep me coming back again and again....and it helps that the food doesn't suck!
CB's is well-hidden at the back of a strip mall, but it is worth finding. It is surprisingly swank on the inside despite its casual menu and atmosphere. We were there with a local regular, which might explain the great service we received, but great service it was! I had a small pizza and the rest of my party had sandwiches. While not the most incredible pizza I've ever had, the food was solid and worth recommending. A nice place for a good meal if you find yourself hungry in Carnelian Bay.
We used to like this place for having good pizza and being cheap, until the following experience:
Called ahead for a take out order. Got there a few minutes before it was supposed to be ready, paid, and got some quarters for pinball. (One of the two stars is for having pinball.) The hostess (?) then comes over and says, "They made your pizza backwards" - it was supposed to be 2/3 something and 1/3 something else - "and it'll be another 25 minutes."
No "sorry", no "here's a free backwards pizza for your trouble" - what the heck did they do with the extra pizza anyway? And the final product was kind of cold, too. We won't be back.
I really enjoyed my Chicken Parmesan sandwich (a local favorite!) and the place is really nice. We sat outside to enjoy the cool air (being from The Oven of Hell....errr, I mean, Reno). The salad dressing left a little to be desired, but overall, I was very happy with my meal.
After an arduous drive from the Bay Area, stopping only for fun and relaxation along the way, we were all pretty tired and hungry by the time we planted our feet in the "cabin" we rented. Tradition called for pizza, but rather than suffer through awful, horrible pizza from an unnamed place (don't worry, I will remember later...), we went with CB's.
I went to pick it up, and the place is pretty cool: although there is not enough parking, the eccentric metal lunchbox collection around the ceiling makes for fine viewing while you wait.
We schlepped 3 larges, some salads, and some appetizers back to feed the massive group. The salads were OK, but the ingredients were a bit too soggy. The mozzarella sticks were great (have not had that in forever), and the not-on-my-diet-thanks-a-lot slice that I had (combo) was definitely pizza, and OK.
While expensive, not terrific, and not offering delivery, this was an A-OK pizza place for a random Friday night with no internet connection to find a better place on Yelp.
Very easy and straight forward dinner which is what we were looking for after a disappointing and expensive dinner the previous night. You will not be blown away by you get good pizza in a causal pizza shop setting with a beer and fountain drinks.
The small pizza will work for 2 people if you have the (over-sized) salad to start or any other apps. We went with mediums and had plenty of extras. The wings were a good way to start the meal...tasty with a little kick.
Service was friendly and attentive. Solid beer selection. I'd go back again.
Only issue we had was finding the place since the address here on Yelp listed the wrong city...turned out to be another 15mintues away...which was a pain in the ass.
I love CB's! BBQ chicken pizza tonight with side salad. Beautiful summer evening with light breeze. Lynnie is my favorite server.

Drama free dinner. Casual pizza place. You get what you expect to get at this casual, prototypical pizza joint. Beer and wine. Video games including Centipede.
Decent pizzas. Big... plenty of left overs. A small pizza will be more than enough for 2 hearty appetites. A medium can handle 3 - 4 people. Good chicken wings with a little bit of a kick. Solid veggie salad with mushrooms, sprouts, broc, carrots, and mixed greens. Burgers are also on the menu.
Service was friendly and attentive. Decent selection of beers on tap or in bottles.

tasty enough pizza - (we had lasagna pizza - not bad) fast service. Easy to park if you go around the back.
I won't even lie...I only came here because we were in tahoe for the weekend and they advertised free wi-fi.
On the wi-fi end they give you a code and you only get it for an hour, after-which you're booted off.
The food was pretty killer. I had the baja burger one day and it was damn tasty. Went back the next day with a bunch of friends and they apparently liked it as well.
My burger was about $8 and my pizza was $6, so it was definitely affordable.
The waitress was very friendly with me and was good about refilling our water.
Nice folks, decent food. They put up with our large party carrying tons of camera equipment and laptops, trailing power cords everywhere...
Free WiFi for an hour; $5.00 charge for the day.
The food was... ok... I chose the crispy chicken caesar salad special - which turned out to be fried chicken strips draped over romaine greens that did have a nice, garlicky dressing. The individual-sized portions are served in a small metal colander which made it a bit messy to eat -- greens were constantly spilling over the side.
They have space outside to sit with your pup, and a water bowl which they happily refill.
Good pizza & nice employees. Try the fried zucchini & salad with dijon-vinaigrette.
If you are looking for an inexpensive, casual, bar restuarant. This is a good place to go. Its in Carnelian Bay next to the 7-11. The service is friendly, some cute waistresses :-), and the food was pretty good.
Good place for a pie. I've had their pizza, and sandwiches with no complaints. Service can be a bit spotty, and locals seem to "rule the roost". For a more than good pizza, or hearty meal, this place is very decent.
We were visiting our good friends in Reno and spent the 4th of July at Lake Tahoe. First stop -- CB's Pizza & Grill, where I had a yummylicious burger that I added provolone cheese and mushrooms to. I woulda gone for the pizza since it was recommeded but anytime I can build a burger and get provolone and sauteed mushrooms, I am sold. This is the only thing I eat when I'm at Red Robin by the way. Anyways, the restaurant itself is cute with all the lunchboxes. They had old school Centipede in the arcade area! Yumm.
Considering there aren't too many pizza options on a snowy night in north shore, this is great pizza. I expected we'd have to settle for whatever we could get, but it's good enough that I'd go here even if I had lots of other options. The thin crust is a little better than the thick, but both are good. They lose a star for their tendency to mess up orders, so make sure they read it back to you and check it before you take it home.
This pizza kind of scared me. I'm not a huge pizza snob, but on the other hand I'm kind of scared of bad pizza. This pizza tasted fine, but was quite scary. It was oily and flat and looked a bit undercooked. But they were busy. And I guess maybe I am a bit of a pizza snob considering I won't do pizza by the slice.
This place makes one of the BEST thin crust pizzas I've ever tried. Ever. As has been noted, there can be a bit of a wait and the service is spotty. But hey, grab a beer, go play some pinball and nosh on their wonderfully fried appetizers. Then, tuck in to their phenomenal BBQ chicken pizza or even their vegetarian combo. YUM.
After a long day of skiing, CBs was a great stop for dinner. Be prepared for a wait if you go right at dinner time...you're going to have lots of company. It was worth the wait though because the pizza was top notch and the beer was ice cold. I highly recommend the Mad River Pale Ale. Enjoy.
This pizza was not the best for me. The pizza was ready in 20 minutes for pickup. I was not a fan of the texture of the crust and there was too much cheese compared to the sauce. The pizza tasted better the day after which in my book is not a good thing.
stumbled into this place starving, and were very glad we did! very unassuming friendly place (they were playing dave matthews and fleetwood mac during our dinner) that still delivers really solid food. fish tacos were good, pizza was very good -- not greasy at all! nice selection of beers and wine, and friendly service. would definitely be back!
