I come here every so often for their happy hour and to watch the games. This place is less crowded than 37 degrees and you're more likely to get better service.
Price for food and drinks is very reasonable. The happy hour drink menu changes frequently but you'll usually find a mojito on there which is what I usually get. During happy hour its like $4 and generous for what you get. Beer selection is pretty standard and you get $1 off during happy hour.
Food...oh where to start? The tacos and quesadillas with their pork is amazing. You also choose what kind of salsa you get- all three (mild, medium, hot) are very tasty. Potato balls are good as well. I had the hot wings and fries last time- hot wings were pretty spicy, the fries are pretty standard.
Good: service, price, food
Bad: not all seats in this place give a good view of the tv, smaller drink selection
Bottomline: I like this place because it doesn't get too crowded and the price is right for both food and liquor. -

The place is really nice and modern, everything looks extremely new. Very classy bar. Large projection TV that covers an entire wall and is great for watching games. Seating is easy and comfortable.
Music is too loud to have a conversation really. Drinks are pricy, even during happy hour, but you pay for the environment. -

Diamond Bar, CA
Nice interior, music is average top-40 stuff, good, diverse crowd, drinks are pretty affordable. Newcastle for 5 bucks, mixed drinks were cheap too. Not much for bar food but the mini cheeseburgers were excellent. Cheesy with a slice of jalapeno inside.
I was looking at the drink specials board and noticed a drink called the "Jesse Shot".
Me: "Excuse me, whats in a Jesse shot?"
Bartender (presumably Jesse): "You don't want to know."
Me: "No, I'd like to know as to avoid getting a raging headache tomorrow"
Bartender: "You don't want a headache but you ordered a Red Bull and Goose?"
Me: "Well I ordered a sugar free Red Bull which you did not have, but your probably right, I don't want to try a Jesse shot".
He felt bad? ....and gave us a free Jesse shot. It tasted like Malibu and coconut milk and was poured out of a giant pre-mixed pitcher.
In summary, the food was the best part, second was the interior decor, other than that it was average. -

Ultra lounge look, dive bar prices.
Complete surprise, especially since it is in Alhambra.
My bartender Gio recommended that I have a Fin du Monde beer.
One of the tastiest beers I have ever drank.
Well drinks are a shockingly affordable $4 each. Yes people, even on weekends, this gorgeous bar charges literally nothing for their libations.
Nice assortment of beer and a full shelf of premium liquors. -

Great chill spot for drinking .. 4/5 why? The bartenders pour on the alcohol! Yes i watch bartenders pour! I see who's stingy, and who wants a good tip! This place gives u the alcohol and i love it!
Saturdays is karaoke night so come out, get drunk, and sing a song! -

Cheap drinks vs. BAD music with drunk older people =/
5 stars: for being in the area and good drinks
-2 stars: for the old drunk folks dancing on each other.... we just look the other way and enjoy our beers. haha -

My friends took me here for my 21st birthday as my first bar, and I can say that I had a pleasant experience. At the time, it was just opened for a few weeks; a tiny bar settling into the neighborhood.
I returned to this bar last weekend as a second option because we expecting it to be fairly empty. Lo and behold, it was crackin'! We were there on a Friday night, and they serve delicious bar food until midnight. Pretty wonderful service; our waitress was attentive despite the busy night, and the bartenders were cute. Drinks and food were affordable ($1.25 sliders and tacos!), they offer draft beers (save the bottled beers for a great time at home)! I like how tasty the AMFs from this bar :)
Might I add that parking is FREE if you park in the structure behind the mass of buildings on the block.
If you fancy a lounge-like atmosphere without the lounge-like prices, this place is probably your best bet around the area. -

It's a nice lounge spot to pre-party before hitting the clubs on main street. If your a fan of microbrews as I am, I would highly recommend this place. Prices here are decent being that the bartenders have good pours. They have a DJ on Friday nights that plays a mix of old school and top 40, but don't expect a dance floor. It's just a bunch of head bobbin and dancing in seats.

Alhambra, CA
I've driven by quite a few times since this place opened a few months ago and had been wanting to stop by for a while. I don't usually hang out in this part of Alhambra since I out grew the need for a loud party atmosphere every single night. I noticed there was a 24 minute parking spot free right up front and decided to stop just long enough to have a beer. I figured 24 minutes is all I would need to figure out whether I would come back or not.
I went in and the place was pretty empty at the time, which is what attracted me in the first place. I wasn't looking for a crowd. I met Jacob the bartender and Michelle the owner. My buddy and I finished our very COLD beers which definitely was a plus. We decided to stick around for another round and another and another. We took turns checking up on the meter maids and were there 2 hours and didn't get a ticket which was another bonus.
This was nearly 2 weeks ago and since then I've been back 4 times. I love the place, great prices on beer and drinks. I haven't tried the food yet but I hear it's delicious. Service by the staff ( Elizabeth, Jacob & Michelle) has been outstanding every time. I read alot of the complaints from other yelpers on here and just think it's a bunch of people who didn't get the personal attention they want from the bartenders. What is it you expect really??? These people are here to serve you a cold drink in a timely fassion, not pick up on you and respond to your advances.
If you're looking for a chill place to relax any night of the week and unwind and have a drink with friends or alone, this is the place to be. Most other patrons I've met have been very friendly as well and I've made some new acquaintances already. 5 Star place.....all the way!!!! -

The main attraction for me and my friend was that it was friggin TACO TUESDAY! We dropped by for the first time after work and came in time for the beginning of happy hour. The happy hour discounts was pretty limited -- it was listed on a chalkboard with your typical mojitos, long islands, margaritas, and beer. I'm a big fan of beer but the selection was anything but impressive.
The dealbreaker: the male tattoo-sleeved bartender. I believe his name is Jacob. He's a good lookin' guy and he looked like a less bulky version of Tom Hardy (mmm..). This comparison didn't save his attitude though. He had this aura about him that screamed "Ya, I know I'm hot so I don't have to be nice to you." He was less than helpful and spouted his answers like they were glaringly obvious. After asking him two questions, I felt pretty uncomfortable asking him anything else. He gave my friend even more of a snooty attitude by rudely answering her question about the taco meats. "Umm, cheyeah, there's only pork and fish. so whatdaya want??" I mean, he wasn't outrageously rude but it was like talking to a teenager -- subtle rudeness.
I was really looking forward to carne asada tacos but they only serve pork and fish (cod) tacos. They were only a dollar so what the hay? I had the cod tacos and they were decent. The toppings were stacked with cabbage, onions, tomatoes, green chile, and of course, the fish.
Next, I tried the naan pizza. Amazing! Underneath the parmesan cheese were mushrooms, grilled onions, and spinach. Delicious. I would definitely come here again just for the pizza.
As for the drinks -- meh. I got a long island and a ginfizz. Meh, meh, and MEH.

I know some of the workers read these reviews so please, put that bartender in check, yeah? Or hire someone else who actually has customer service skills.
I'm not looking to be brown-nosed by the bartener but just show some courtesy, please. -

Love their Happy Hour Specials on drinks and food. Their Taco's are the best!!
Friendly servers (Except the Bartender Jacob, he was an ass!, attitude and I would have to yell to get his attention to place an order!) other than that, a nice small quaint atmosphere, love the couches and the big screen wall projection.
UPDATE APRIL 2011: THEY ARE CLOSED! Note sure if for renovation or due to scaring off their customers from horrible service! Too bad they had potential! -
Review from Andre N.
So went here the day of my bday, and was quite impressed by this little place. I quite honestly thought it was going to be dead, because alot of the time I walk past here, it seems no one is here and it makes my cry, but on a Saturday night its gets really happening, with alot of people of various ages coming in and such.
On this Saturday night, when I went, it was karaoke night, which if you know me can be a problem, since I tend to be a karaoke whore and worse yet I lack any musical talent whatsoever. Anyways the DJ running the karaoke thing was a really cool guy, he had alot of great songs to choose from and was always willing to let you and very encouraging for you to sing. So thus he let me do a couple of songs which my friends and the crowd go to suffer through. Later on the real singers came on and they did some really good versions as well.
Drinks are also good here and its a pretty laid back atmosphere here overall, even have a jukebox for you to play as well. -

No a bad spot to have a drink before going to the clubs next door. Drinks are cheap, music isn't bad and the bar food is actually tasty! Nothing spectacular, just a good local hang out with plenty of seating with a good vibe.

Came here on a Saturday night and was at first intrigued that it was karaoke night, but quickly horrified as the place got busier.
I enjoyed the decor of the lounge and the DJ in charge of the karaoke seemed quite friendly and competent. However, the people doing karaoke really killed it for me. The entire night went like this: someone singing a five-minute slow buzzkill song, followed by the DJ playing one minute of Lady Gaga, followed by another obscure slow song, or worse, Cher.
The bartender appeared a bit grumpy and it's hard to enjoy the lounge vibe when you can't escape the big screens playing Joe Dirt.
Featured drinks run $7-$9 during non-happy hour. -

I celebrated my bday here in January and had a great time. It isn't that big, but its a really nice spot to hang out, drink, and listen to music. I was there on a friday night and they had a DJ there all night playing really good music. Our drinks were strong thanx to the bartender Jacob who was hooking it up all night. I recommend this place if you wana grab a quick drink or if you are in a large group and need to place to hang out. If you don't like this spot you can walk down the street to Azul (BARF!!).
Overall very nice spot, cool crowd, great drinks and awesome service. -

First time in downtown Alhambra, my friends and I decided to walk down the street in search of a bar on a Saturday night. We spotted the free karaoke sign from across the street and decided to stop by since we were in a singing mood as well.
This place is small, yet very simple and modern. There are couches as well as several tables, and seats at the bar. Coming on a Saturday night, this place wasn't super crowded as we were able to snag a table as soon as we came in. The karaoke night had already started as we ordered some drinks. The only drinks I can attest to are the raspberry mojito and the margarita. Both were reasonably price, in my opinion, at $7 and $5 respectively. Unfortunately we had just missed the happy hour.
The people here were very friendly and made you feel very welcome as you tried to shake off the nerves and get on "stage" to sing in front of strangers. It did help that everyone had a couple drinks in their system. haha. The DJ was very nice as well! They had a whole book with lists of songs to choose from. Since the place wasn't that big, the wait for your turn in front of the mic didn't take long. My friends and I were able to squeeze in 4 songs during the 2.5 hours we were there.
I would definitely come back here, especially during karaoke nights!
*EDIT* 9/5/10
My friends and I came back here again this Saturday and since it was early in the night (9:30pm) it wasn't as crowded and the karaoke night hadn't started yet. Admittedly, my friends and I look pretty young; we could pass for 15-17 year olds. lol But the staff insisted on checking our IDs 3 times!! We were pretty annoyed by that and agreed that if they asked for our IDs one more time, we would leave. They checked it the first time at the door, and then twice more by two different people, once we sat down.
The first time we came here, it was more crowded and they only checked our IDs once, without being so suspicious of us. Maybe they had nothing else to do early in the night, but my friends and I were surely annoyed. Good thing they didn't ask a fourth time or cause any other problems for us.
One other thing I'd like to note is that the karaoke DJ, Reggie, is a pretty nice guy! He accepted all my karaoke requests happily and even sings a couple times when no one else is in line to sing next!Comment from Michelle P. of CB After Dark 9/7/2010

Not bad...not bad. Went here for a friend's birthday bash. It's a nice, cozy little lounge with all the amenities of a glitzy westside scene, but without any of the pretentiousness in the SGV! Street parking is average. Music is decent and you can expect a relatively mixed crowd. Overall, not a bad place to spend an evening if you live on the eastside and don't feel like driving out westward.
Good, relaxing environment to unwind and kick back with some chill friends. They have a full bar, friendly staff and decent food. There's also free karaoke and friendly DJs, so pick up a mic and start regaling your friends and complete strangers with your best rendition of "
Lots of terrific eating options open late nearby as well. Of course...it's the SGV! -

Came here with the wifey a few weeks ago while going on a little walk, you know to come down from a long day at work and decided to go in since we've driven by it so many times and it always looks lay back from the outside. There was only one bartender working that night (yes that one dude with all the tatts that looks like he just came off an Ed Hardy convention with the Jersey Shore guys).
The place actually looks cool, it's clean, it's modern, the jukebox is good and the food was decent, yes better tasting than the average bar food. This is a cool place if you want to hook up with a few friends and grab a drink on your way home or even have a lay back evening. The service was good and, besides his indifferent demeanor, the bartender actually kept our glasses filled, which made up for his lack of social skills. -

My friends and I decided to check this place out one random Thursday night. The place looked like it was not open. It's a small spot right across from Boiling Crab #2 in Alhambra.
The place was not so busy but still had about dozen people inside. Seating areas are available by the bar, tables near the bar, and few comfy chairs with coffee tables. Music in this place could have been better since it's a jukebox but then again, it might have been the crowd choice..kind of emo.
The pluses on this place: had enough room to sit, drank specials written on a tall ass chalkboard by the bar, cute bartender, and cheap draaaanks!! I ordered straight henny and 2 raspberry vodkas with lemonade (which was made fresh by mr. bartender) for $22 with TIP! yes with TIP! Also, they have TVs everywhere to watch your fav sports game.
Ball buster and buzz killer, however, has nothing to do with the place but the area. This part of the city was infested with cops. They were driving around waiting to some drunk person to get caught with a DUI! so be careful on acting a fool around this area! -

Alhambra is trying really hard to become Old Town Pas. Well, they just kicked it up half a notch by having this bar on Main Street. Happy hour is from 7-9PM, which is great since you can come here afterward while other places are finishing up.
They offer specialty mixed drinks, a decent selection of draft beer (about 8), and limited wine. The place is clean and modern with cushy couches and several large screen TVs.
We tried the naan pizza, it was better than expected. They really loaded up on the toppings. The sliders were surprisingly spicy and delicious. -

I really liked the chic decor and chill ambiance... I liked that it wasn't too loud, so my friends and I could hold a conversation without having to scream at one another. For the area, probably the nicest bar.
Still, it's not like "OMG have to go there again!" and the bartender really just had no presence and was kind of cold/ignored us so.... yeah. It was just meh. Drinks were all right, but nothing special. -

Came in on a Friday night and it was pretty quiet.. This place has some potential though.. esp because I like how they serve top shelf drinks for $7 bucks like Mccallan 12 and Walker Black.
However, I really need a killer happy hour like $1 dollar tacos to come in during the week.
I know this joint is brand new, so I'll reserve to change my rating after 3 months. -

Just went there tonight with 2 other friends. Since I'm not an expert in drinks, I think my Mojito Martini is ok, especially with Happy Hour price. The tattooed bartender looks cool, but he's definitely not the friendliest person, which is fine with me since I don't have anything to talk to him. It was pretty empty on Sunday night so I felt kinda awkward at first but then I felt comfortable because we can talk to each other without all the loud noise. Seems like everyone here praises the food a lot so I'll make sure to try it next time. Overall it was a nice night with friends.

The food is really good. The tacos are great.
If you haven't been to this place, you have to check out the late night happy hour from 7-9.
If your in the area it is a must! If not the tacos are worth the drive. Classy place, Great food, good drinks.
P.S. They also have cans of PBR and Tacate for $2.50. -

CB After Dark is a good place to chill and grab some drinks with friends in the Alhambra area. Being a resident of Alhambra its nice to have a decent place close to home to grab some drinks. Parking is really easy in downtown Alhambra. They have a parking structure located near city hall. They drinks here aren't too pricey and they have several TV's where you can catch sporting events. Its a nice chill place to watch the Lakers while grabbing a few drinks. If you are local to Alhambra and don't feel like driving too far, you should check this place out.

I'll start off by apologizing, because I'm not the typical youngling, and I was looking for a lounge where I could enjoy good drinks and chat with friends. So my ratings are poor based on these two factors.
We could not chat due to the loud music, at a place where there is no space to dance.
Even though we took our own wine, we were told there was no corking fee and that they had good wine. The waitress, young and inexperienced, and whose job is to tell us the wine is good is not to blame for the poor wine that was told at $7 a glass. I would have gladly paid to open my own, but then again, it is not the place for that.
We did order food, but that never arrived, so I find it hard to increase the ratings.
I can say good things, its a nice clean place, with a great TV, wish I had been there to watch the game, not that I would hear it. -

Stopped by here last Friday night to grab a beer while I waited for my hour waiting period at 38 degrees down the street. The name of this place definitely made me think it was more of a club/lounge than a cool bar. I wasn't here long but I definitely liked that it wasn't crowded not to mention they had Anchor Steam!

The naan pizza is the shit and the prices are verrrrryyyy reasonable!! I don't ever really recall how much I actually drink at this place but my bill with food, drinks and tip is usually around $22-25...i generally tend to have at least 3 beers when I come to this place and two orders off their little menu...wonderful find in Alhambra and would def recc to anyone who just wants to grab a drink after work.

It is nice to have another choice in Alhambra for those of us who do not go to Azul or anywhere where that has that troubled night life. This is a kick back scene, very clean! Atmosphere is hip, good drink specials, and the tacos, wow!!!!! Design is very clean and the Dodger game was on and I am a fan, so that was OK for me. A must go back and see what its like when there is music, and more people to take in the vibe.

Came here with my best buddy on a Saturday night just to relax, chat, and grab a few drinks. Please note, this is a LOUNGE, a welcome change from the many dance clubs on Main St. right now. It's small, but cozy, there are couches, and tables, and a projector TV (with TVs above the bar too) that was on ESPN. There is a jukebox with some awesome CDs available, Radiohead, Killers, Earth, Wind & Fire, Pink Floyd, among others, but we didn't try it. Don't know how much it costs, but it accepts only dollars- probably 2 songs to the buck, but don't quote me on that! There's still music playing, even if no one picks something out of the juke, and the variety is great. I didn't try the food but it smelled good, and the prices are decent. Our bartender was sweet, and made some good martinis for us when were feeling adventurous and wanting something new.
Awesome place to go and hang out. Definitely coming back! -

Me and a few freinds came here on a saturday night. We had a good time. The bar is very nice and clean. Its more of a bar to lounge and talk with friends and have drinks. They have nice sofas to sit on but they were all taken so we had a table to the side. They have a small food menu, didn't try anything but it looked good. Good crowd, no dance floor or DJ but we still had fun.

It is with great honor that I announce that C.B. After Dark is now my new drinking spot. Been to A.D. several times now. At first I thought this place would be really overpriced, considering it has an upscale vibe, but it's not. The drinks and beer are priced very fairly and are made very well with just the right amount of alcohol as to not over power the flavor of the drink itself. Credit good bartending skills to that. Speaking of bartenders, I met Jacob and Elizabeth, both excellent top notch servers, experts in mixology and customer service. I read some other reviews bashing the customer service. Can't figure out why though, these guys are great. My experience is getting treated like a V.I.P. everytime at A.D.
I think After Dark blends in perfectly with the young vibrant nightlife the rest of Downtown Alhambra has to offer. Although not as club like as Havana House or Azul (which are both located across the street), A.D. still ranks amongst one of the best places in Alhambra to hangout at on any night. Another thing I really liked is that the owner Michelle actually took the time to respond to the concerns of a Yelp reviewer. Try getting your concerns replied to by Tony Romas or Applebee's which are both also within walking distance from After Dark. Classy upscale bar with a hip fun party atmosphere, great bartenders and great management/ownership. I definitely recommend After Dark to everyone. -

Well, the first trip to the CB was ok Jacob was really nice the first time I went with a small group on a Wednesday for a Laker game. The next few times we have gone back (I believe it's one of the owners and Jacob) really kill the vibe they are rude and not friendly at all... It's a shame because the place can be a good spot but maybe the owner should stay home and they should get a new bartender that wants to be nice to the customers and have fun while working.... The food is good but we won't go back too many other options just cross the street and go to CT's(Lynn is the best) or 38 degrees(Mike & Ko are super friendly) the bartenders will remember your name and what you like and the food at both locations is great too!
