Seems like there are a good variety of trails. If I had more time in AZ I would have wanted to see more.
We took the loop trail - a easy/moderate 2 mile or so loop. Probably depending on the time of year you will have to cross the stream a few times like we did, so be careful...it does take a bit of balancing and trial and errors...unless you want to just forget it all and get your shoes wet. Funny, when my friend said, welcome to the desert I imagined dusty plains not running rivers. But I love the sound of natural running water so I had a great time.
And those cacti! So huge! A great sight to see.

This is a beautiful park. The trails are good and having all this rain has produced enough water for the wash to run. I immediately got my shoes soaked through and so I squished all the way along the trail. Along the loop trail, you come across the water and rocks ravine with the cottonwoods and there I saw my first coatimundi, actually 13 of them, all running around with their big ringed tails held high. If you have horses you can bring them too, as there is lots of areas to ride and when the wash is dry its great on their hoofs. $6 per car

What a great place for a desert hike on a cool morning!
Their were people there walking their dogs. One woman told us that if you are there real early in the morning, then you may see a coyote or deer.
There were quite a few bird watchers there. I'm not one but I saw a pair of cardinals.
Well kept up.
A good place for a picnic.
Great Park. We go every time we visit. i often see hikers and bikers here. Go for the morning, drive to the end of the road, hike the trails and bring a picnic lunch to enjoy afterwards. It can get pretty hot so I recommend either going early in the morning or during the winter. Bring your leashed dog too, but please remember to pick up after them.
This is a really nice desert park near my parents' place just North of Tucson. We hiked the 2.3 mile "loop", which had enough ups and downs to make it interesting, but not hard at all. Great desert scenery, including hundreds of very cool saguaros. There were about 5 other trails available, including ones up to 5 miles (one way?), which we may try at some other time....
