I had birthday parties here & now my kids have them here. We like to party in the back because there are always about 3,000 people at the front of the park. The back fills up too but not as quickly as the front. Either way get there early (seriously like 4am) & don't leave. The only things that I don't like is that you can't reserve AND the city of San Jose says only 1 jumper per park even though Cataldi is HUGE. On any given weekend you will see a ton of jumpers but only 1 will have a permit & with my luck the day of my party will be the day that the enforcers are out. So get your permit EARLY.

Cataldi Park is my favorite place to play tennis that's close to my house. The courts are in good shape but don't have lights. I'm definitely a beginner but am still always looking for someone to play with. If you're interested, let me know!
I haven't really explored much of the park but it looks nice and well kept. It also has easy parking. The website says Cataldi Park is 33.5 acres, has 2 restrooms, 20 picnic tables,
3 BBQs, 5 playgrounds, 7 tennis courts, one soccer field,
a fitness cluster and an exercise course. Maybe I'll spend more time looking around next time I go!
It's located on Morrill and Cataldi, off Hostetter Rd, east of Capitol.
See ya there! :)

Saturday morning, if you're a guy and you're bored: then come by the back field and play football with us @ 10 am.

I love this park, only because it holds a lot of my precious childhood memories.
The park has a lot of grassy places to run around and hang out. Saturdays there are usually soccer games happening, but the BBQ area is really nice. (Be sure to "reserve" your spot early!) You can bring in a jumper, for those hyper kiddoes, also. Just put it in the grass area next to the BBQ pits. The playground areas are clean and, well, fun to play on.

AWESOME!
Like Lianna B. this place holds a lot of my precious childhood memories and will hold my older age memories too.
For the past millenia (I seriously can't remember) I've had my birthday party here, and even though it's gotten more congested it's super fun having my birthday here. It's just tradition to do so, if you want to join my birthday party than PM me (you...sicko...) because we need bodies for sports. Otherwise in the future as my friend Chris has said I should have parties here every single year (which has happened). Boy I can't wait until I have kids, so I can wait for them to grow up and do all the planning and work for me.
I expect my friends and I to play football here until we're in our 100's and then go to Morrill afterwards every single year. You'd think it would be monotonous, but as we grow and age each year it's always exciting. We'll bet money on who'll break their hip and stuff, and it'll be super awesome! The only downside is that they have only one actual basketball hoop here so that does force my friends and I to move to Morrill for the basketball portion.
Great!
Don't worry this extra part is only here because this review was looking a little short compared to some of my other reviews:

I love the fact there are swings, restroom area, and picnic area all in one park.
I recently went to a BBQ/picnic celebration here and fell in love with it.
I'm definitely planning to have my next birthday bash picnic here.
