I feel lucky to have found Ara and Castle Automotive.
When we moved to the Valley, I was pretty nervous about finding a competent, honest mechanic. I don't remember how we came across Castle, but I'm really happy we did.
He's done excellent work on our Jeep Cherokee and my previous car, a Mazda. Everything from routine oil changes to a heater core replacement and more. His work has been great and the prices are very reasonable. A couple of times we've had to go back for quick follow-up fixes and he usually doesn't charge for this type of thing. That's called standing behind your work!
He (or his dad) even gives my wife a ride home and picks her up when the work is done. Seriously, so cool. -

I sent my neighbor here, after Firestone in Reseda quoted her over 300.00! She went here this morning and it was 53.00 total! She was so happy, and said they have great customer service skills also. This will be her new place. Thanks guys for treating her right. :)

I thought I needed my brakes repaired but they told me that it wasn't necessary yet. they could have easily told me the opposite, since I know nothing about cars. I appreciate that honesty, and will totally be back again.

I have had two major repairs here. A complete brake unit replacement and now my clutch. Ara is a straight shooter and is a good person. He asks what's going on with your schedule and offers to work around it to benefit you. And he has always met my short deadlines (due to needed my car for work). One of his primary mechanics Steve is equally helpful and both talk to you like a human being, and not down to you like so many local mechanics do. When I moved to LA my biggest fear was finding a mechanic I could trust... that's no longer a concern!

I went to Ara at Castle Automotive for five years, and all I can say is hands down, he is the best. You're not going to find a better mechanic.
When I first moved from the Midwest to LA several years ago, it was a period of economic and professional struggles, as my husband and I were attempting to establish ourselves. Needless to say, it was imperative at the time to keep my older car running, as I could not handle a car payment. I initially took my Pontiac to Rydell, as, well they were the GM dealer, but they were skyrocket expensive, and had a bad habit of making fun of my car and telling me how terrible it was. (Let me reiterate that as the dealer it was their product to begin with.)
A friend referred me to Ara. It was night and day. Not only is he hardworking, professional, friendly and courteous, he is very reasonably priced and HONEST.
Over the course of five years, I went to him quarterly for either oil changes, maintenance issues or both. He kept my car running very smoothly, despite its age. He had no problem telling me some things weren't worth fixing (the AC), didn't need fixing yet (my brake noises were only due to brake dust and didn't need to be replaced yet) or cheaper alternatives. He never upsells, or quotes you one price then inflates it when you come to pick it up.
Not only that but he will go out of his way for you. I can't tell you how many times he would go above and beyond- such as offering to have his father come in earlier than his normal business hours the next morning to accommodate my work schedule for pickup and payment; or personally driving my car to a nearby place to get my smog checked when I was running late for the registration (at the time he was no longer doing smog checks himself but he made sure I got it done in time!). There are more examples than this, but you get the idea.
In the end, for 5 years, he made it economically viable for me to keep my car in repair without having to buy a new one. If you are wondering if it would have been cheaper to have had a car payment, I have the receipts and let me tell you I saved so much money, and I avoided having to get a second job. WELL worth it. My car was 14 years old before I retired it and got a new one. Thanks Ara for everything! -

Castle Automotive is friendly, honest shop with expert mechanics and reasonable prices.
I took my girlfriend's Saturn there a couple months ago for new brakes. After a thorough inspection it was deemed necessary to replace the brake pads and calipers. Ara showed me the parts and explained how the whole system worked.
I waited to write the review here on Yelp to make sure nothing was wrong with the repairs and that they held up to daily driving. The replaced brake system have been working perfectly for the last couple months since the repairs. I'm confident these are people you can trust and that the quality is above average.
I recommend Castle Automotive for your auto repairs. I will definitely be a return customer. -

I recently moved to the area and finding a good mechanic was obviously at top priority. One & done with Ara @ Castle Automotive. I needed service maintenance and had called around. Received quotes for services I didn't need. Ara told me he'd check the car over and only do the necessary work. Very rare to find such honesty & integrity. So glad to have found Castle. Where have you guys been all my life? Highly recommended!

Castle is the best. They'll tell it to me straight. If I need something done right away they'll let me know how serious it really is. I've been going here for 3 years and I believe my car drives better now than it did when I first bought it. My co-workers were the first to recommend this place to me and I'm glad they did because I wouldn't know where else to take my car for repairs otherwise.
For the longest time I was doing the Jiffy Lube and Pep Boys run around. My mistake. Those places really messed up my car. It's a good thing Ara knew exactly what my car needed and fixed her up really well.
I know I can trust him to take care of my car without any funny business. He's really cool and doesn't do any kind of sales pressuring. He's never tried to push me to do any unnecessary repairs. The best part is he treats my car like it's his own sisters car.
He's never made me feel inferior because I'm a lady. From what I've seen he treats everyone the same.

Castle is the best. It is a relief considering how corrupt the auto industry is in Los Angeles. You never have to worry when you go to Castle. Ara takes care of the situation for a low, fair price everytime and only informs you of a problem if it is necessary. I recommend Castle to anyone who doesn't want to continuously spend money on auto repairs that are not needed. Ara and his crew are legit.

Had two concerns about my car. They were clear on the phone offering good rates, letting me know the possible issues. Got in, said the first problem wasn't urgent if I didn't want to do anything about it. The second problem ended up costing almost half what he said it would..... yes... can you imagine the price dropping? I could tell this guy was a straight shooter and ethical business man.
