This is probably the best place to work on your game. For the money, this is the best place in OC to golf.
I understand you can't hit driver on every hole; and the place isn't in country club condition. But for $11-17, this is the best deal in golf.
- get the discount and reservation from http://GolfNow.com or http://Click4TeeTimes.com
- go on a weekday between 11am-1pm. It's the cheapest price ($11), it's just after the seniors play, and it's just before the high schoolers practice.
- best part is, there's almost no one on the course at this time. I've played single several times.
Where else can you go hit 18holes, work on your irons, use your driver 4 times, work on your short game, get in a healthy walk, and get out in less than 3 hours????
Misc. notes:
- they do not have a driving range. It's literally "ready golf".
- Bring your own pull cart.
- Food is reasonably priced and not bad
This is a FUN executive course tucked away in the hills of Mission Viejo! Got a few co-workers together for a 5pm tee time after work and we were still able to get through 12 holes before the sun went down.
Par 3s are challenging and most of the par 4s are around 300 yds. My co-worker was actually putting for eagle on #10, which he eventually birdied.
We had a beginner in our 4some but the course ambassadors were pretty understanding and friendly and kept us moving along as fast as we could. $17 for twilight ain't bad in my book. I think I'm gonna try get out here 1x a month, at least till daylight saving ends.
I was really impressed with this golf course. It has pretty good length for an executive, and there is a lot of variety between holes. Some of the fairways were a little junky, but the greens were all in good shape. I gave it four stars mainly for its value, because I played on the weekend for $25 including the cart, which is huge for OC. The only issue I had was with the starter who was a dick. I definitely recommend this course overall though, and am planning on playing here again.
a pretty cool executive course.
a great place to brush up on you short game.
the layout is pretty creative.
the greens are subtle and even deceiving. so, respect it.
drivers aren't necessary, but there are a few long par 4's that you can drive off of if you are really itching to do so.
i don't recommend people who have a nasty slice of the tee not to use your driver, because your ball will land on an opposing fairway or possibly 2 over. i was finding balls laying on fairways that i was playing, as well as next to greens i was putting from. what the hell?
the fairways and roughs aren't kept that well, so i found quiet a few balls buried in some deep roughs.
all in all, pretty cool.
maybe that's one of the reasons the course fees are so low.
