I only stopped in for margariteas and a beer. It seemed jsut fine. I dod get to check out the end of the 3rd round of the Masters on the bar tv, so I guess that is good. Lots of locals popped in for drinks, another good sign.
I didnt eat, so I can't, in good faith, give it more than average.
I came here to kill some time before a party. The carne asada tacos were good and it came with avacado on them. The margaritas where great too. The place was slow and from what I read they are not usually busy but I think it is because of it's location in a strip mall and it is hard to find. They are doing some crazy parking lot work which makes it even more difficult.
I overheard that they are going to have to cut staff because it is too slow so go help them out Yelpers. Oh yeah the decor is pretty cool too.
I love the authentic Mexican Food served here. It's not the ordinary selection found at most Mexican restaurants.
This family owned business still has that feeling of being owned by a Family. Take a look at all the Family photos on the walls on your way to the restrooms.
They take pride in the food, the service is still good in spite of being in Malibu, which normally translates in my opinion, to slow or just plain bad.
Their Mango Margaritas are worth the trip alone.
I also love the Taco salad, almost too much to eat.
There was a fire in the shopping Center a while back so Malibu had to wait for them to re-open. It was definately worth the wait. The interior is as lovely as the first one.
Enjoy this place

We were driving up the PCH, escaping from L.A. The traffic congealed, of course, because it was a sunny Sunday afternoon. My travel companion suddenly said, "I want nachos."
I'd never looked for nachos in Malibu before. There were several sushi places on view, but no, she wanted nachos. And a margarita.
Finally, in a little shopping center, Casa Escobar. Lots of curlycued iron chairs, Spanish name, hmmm maybe they have nachos.
Turned out they do indeed have nachos. Nachos are hard to mess up, and in and of themselves no big deal. However, the margarita was another matter: tart, sweet, just the right amount of everything. A margarita worth the trip.
I had iced tea -- it was good, too, some kind of raspberry thing -- but that sip of margarita will lure me back up the coast again sometime. Yum. When I go, I'll have dinner, and I'll Yelp some more.
