If your a$$ is tired of the same boring tastes at the main stream coffee shops like Starbucks come down to Casa De Luna! The ice vanilla chai latte is perfect for those hot summer nights. And if you got an exam coming up get a iced mocha or iced americano and youll be on a good one!

Review from Julius G.
Long Beach, CA
This is one of those reviews which may turn out to be a work in progress. Why three stars? While there's nothing necessarily wrong with Casa De Luna on my first visit this morning, there was also nothing about the place that jumped out and made me want to yell "Yay! I'm a fan" much less "Woohoo!".
After our breakfast conversation stretched beyond the usual and customary limits which would have allowed us to maintain our claim on our table at Johnny Reb's, we wondered over to Metropolis Comics, picked up a few additions to the collection, and then started looking for a place to have a cup of coffee, and continue or conversation while waiting for a friend.... Was that sentence too long? I think it was too long. The coffee shop next door to the comic book store has never struck me as being very welcoming, and the next nearest place was closed, so I told my personal assistant (AKA Siri) that I wanted coffee, and she directed me to Casa De Luna on Belmont (About a 10th of a mile off Bellflower).
Our decrepit little band wandered on over, and were greeted by a soft spoken barista who took our order with grace in the face of four befuddled middle aged men. Jars containing teas were lined up on shelves opposite a large painting of Ché. I did wonder what the old revolutionary would think of five dollar cups of coffee, but I let it go without comfort. Despite the attention that was obviously paid to the decor, I couldn't shake the feeling that something felt unfinished about the area behind the counter. The shop was clean, and, despite the presence of several customers, eerily quiet. Good place to read or study, but a light soundtrack might have added a touch of warmth.
There are two seating areas, separated by glass, at Casa De Luna. The area we sat in contained to well stocked book shelves. I'm beginning to wonder if that may not have been a designated "quiet area". If so, I apologize to the two young ladies who moved to the other room shortly after our animated arrival. I'll have to find out on my next visit. Overall, the place was clean, the coffee was good, and I'll probably be paying them another visit soon. -

Was looking for a local coffee shop where I can read my awesome 900 page Van Gogh book and was fortunate to find this spot. The woman behind the counter was nice and the yummy coffee kept me going for hours!
Definitely a fan. -

This is actually a nice spot with an amazing variety of both teas and coffee drinks, with a Mexican flavor (anyone who knows me knows that that's how I like it), but the fact that the one employee there didn't bother to clean ANYTHING the entire time we were there (several hours) freaked me out, and the baños as well as the tables could have used some help. It also took a LONG ASS TIME to bring out my friend's sandwich, and it's not because they were swamped.
I would knock it up to a four if they improved the cleanliness factor. -

Nice atmosphere, genuinely friendly staff, and the most DELICIOUS roast beef sandwich I think I've ever had. The Mexican hot cocoa hit the spot and I always leave with the feeling that my food and drink have been made with love.

**FYI, this review was written from my phone app and I wasn't able to post it for awhile so things might have changed (like the teas)
I gotta say I am very disappointed overall. I used to love this place and would have given it a five star rating a long time ago but the disappointments kept on rolling every time I went back. Where do I begin?
They never have any of the teas stocked! First time I was at Casa de Luna was in last October and the last time I was there was in early August so as far as I know they didn't restock for almost over a year. They always say that they are stocking soon but I guess soon means never in this store's case.
The last time I stopped by early in the morning and no one was there! Yelp hours say 8AM but the front door say 9AM.. But it doesn't matter because I was there by 10:30AM on a Tuesday! No signs on the door or anything like that.. One other time, they were just closed. I saw the owners in there but they just locked their doors and called it their day I guess. LOL. Must be great to have your own business.
My last straw was when I was there by myself trying to get some studying done. After about 10 minutes into my studying, their friends come swarming in and sits at the table next to me. Don't mind a lot of people next to me and the noise at all since I have my earphones on. But when I went to go use the restroom for literally about two minutes, they took the chair that I was using..with all my stuff on the table still. The girl who took my chair looked at me and started giggling and talking in Spanish and the owner was standing right next to me carrying on their conversation. Sorry I'm a paying customer and not one of your friends I guess. I packed my sh!t and got the hell outta there!
Honestly I am more disappointed than upset because I used to come here at least once a week and brought all my friends to try it. This is what I get for trying to support local businesses. BTW, you may throw away my frequent user card since I don't plan on ever returning :D!! -

I'm ticked! I scheduled a coffee meet for my ladies group here based on the yelp reviews...they aren't even open!!!! Posted hours say 930... It's 949 and the place is dark!
We waited around until 10:15 then headed down the street to Eclipse Cafe which was great.
On the way back to my car, Casa De Luna was open so I went in. I asked the lady what time they open,....she said "Around 10:30" I let her know that the sign says 9:30 to which she replied "The sign is wrong, it even says we are closed on Sunday but we are open" I let her know that I had scheduled a group coffee meeting for 10:00 based on that sign....All she could say was "Sorry" and basically shrugged me off.
You should be sorry because you lost business. I was planning on making this a regular Saturday morning coffee for my group. It was embarrassing to schedule a group meeting and have the location CLOSED. Very upsetting. I'm only giving one star because you have to give something. -

This is the only place I can really get some work done. Starbucks & the bean are just too noisy and I always get distracted at home too. They have a quiet room w/comfy sofa chairs & pillows (I dozed off the other day lol) & a good amount of oulets.
Their mocha azteca (hot) is like whatevs. Now that chai latte (hot) is cup-lickin' gooooood! Smooth and sweet, just perfect! Can't go wrong w/their smoothies either.
Their sandwiches are very yummy and healthy. I've ordered the roast beef ($4.50) cos for some reason, they're always out of turkey when I go. It comes w/lettuce, bell peppers, avocado, tomatoes, mushrooms, cheese, on your choice of ciabatta bread or a croissant & your choice of the regular or spicy avocado sauce, plus a side salad w/a tangy vinaigrette & crumbled feta cheese on top :-) Good portions for the price! Just skip the muffins. -

Hurray for Casa de Luna! I tried their roast beef sandwich once and I've had the need to get one every time I visit. It's delicious! Speaking of delicious, another must-try is their chai latte! It's sweet & tasty. I prefer their approach to the chai latte as opposed to other cafes because those can be spicy or bitter. Or if you have great luck, spicy AND bitter! haha Aside from their food, this place has a nice welcoming environment. Lot's of comfortable seating, books, board games, FREE wifi. And unlike other greedy locations they have outlets available for you. Expect a crowd on weekends they have friends come over and play live music.

I chose this spot for my meet up with Mrs R. for the following reasons
Aztec Mocha
Open late (Friday night)
Yelp deal (10% off)
Free WiFi
The places was quite desolate on the later end of a Friday night yet the space was still inviting. We ordered our drinks and got cozy in a little corner seating area with three plush chairs and a mini table. Our drinks were delivered quickly in cute Casa mugs with a simple leaf like flower for foam art.
One sip of my Aztec Mocha and I was in heaven. Delicious rich spiced mocha warmed me up quickly. Thank goodness I ordered a large as if I ordered anything smaller I would have had to go back for seconds.
They have a small menu of sandwiches but I really had a hankering for a pastry of some sort. They didn't have any so I would suggest maybe some cookies at least during the late evening.
The joint is way out of my way but I can see myself returning here. The mocha was fab and they've got the WiFis so a new fan they've got in me.Listed in: WiFi Related, Cup O Cup O Joe, Ay Papi

For my fellow artists,
Inspiration: The power of moving intellect or emotions. The act of drawing in. A divine influence or action on a person believed to qualify him or her to receive and communicate sacred revelation.
What inspires you? Are you searching for inspiration? You inspire me. A songwriter by trade, I am forever searching for inspiration.
The room is flooded with natural light come twilight like the violet flame from a campfire burning. Boardgames are waiting for friends to make winners out of each other via knights and pawns. Books to be read leave their lessons learned behind for those yet to learn them.
No music is playing in the cafe which laves the hush of steaming milk. The soft murmur of distant traffic like a television from a block away.
I order a triple espresso on ice and a large glass bottle of spring water from the pretty brunette girl behind the counter . The espresso maker whines like the siren sound of urgency.
On the way to take my seat and wait for my drinks, I stumble across the current of fate. (It was meant to be.) In the left corner of this thoughtful cafe sits an amazing sight to still my beating heart. I make my introduction. By jumping up and down. (I was never one to play shy) The sighting? Ebony and ivory together in perfect harmony. No friends, this is no ordinary piano. She is over 100 years old.
Heart racing like a school girl crushing, I pull up one of the cafe chairs where a piano bench should be and played the first song I ever wrote. What stories she has to tell those that would listen. So I listened.
I drank my espresso. I drank my water. I wrote a song in the distance of my mind. I took a picture with my eyes to share with you.
Painters, playwrights, authors and artists, I submit to you this cafe as the back drop to your grandest ideas. The radio station to will the last page of your most epic novel.
The landing place for the final draft. The table to lay out the first sketches of your break through equations for nuclear fusion. I suggest to you dear readers that this cafe sells coffee. And gives away divine inspiration for free.
I returned home to my own 100 year old piano and translated the stories told me at Casa De Luna. I wish I could post a song to this review.:-)Listed in: Espresso mi cultura. Coffee,…

It's amazing how I can study non stop here then the library. Oh the irony! I first went to this place I think about 2 years ago. The area is so calm. The front it looks ehh but once you see the back, omg..I can just picture a 1920s scenery.
Anyway! I love how there are two rooms to this place. The back is more of a kickback area where there are couches and you can't hear the coffee grinders and such. My friends and I use to always take the back corner of that room and just have our fun while studying. But when you are by yourself, I prefer the front where the tables are. The arrangement of the seats will help you focus on your work. Well at least for me.
Okay now on for the drinks. I pretty much tried everything & they are all so delicious! Well the coffee and mocha drinks that is. There are many choices of tea to choose from. I love their peach green tea smoothie, so refreshing!
The sandwiches are AMAZING. I think it is worth the $5. Really filling as well. The desserts looks tempting as well but I try to stay away from it. I did try the tiramisu and it was definitely delicious. Not sure if they made these desserts themselves.
The artworks that are placed along the walls are enjoyable. When I first went there, there was a tree on the main wall. Probably my favorite artwork there.
The owner is so friendly and chill. He knows my face but we have yet introduced ourselves.
The reason why I keep coming here is for the artwork of their drinks. Sometimes they dont do it but it depends on the worker. Either way, the atmosphere makes up for it. -

It's a shame- it's a shame that I don't live in this city where I can keep coming back here.
Indeed, I'm meticulous about my (dirty)chai's. Usually, I prefer a hot chai, but it was a nice and breezy day, thought I'd shell out for an iced one.
I enjoy nice laid back, non-corporate service every now and then. They brought my drink over to me, while I admired the art decked around the walls. High ceilings and high windows equals great sunlight.
I did NOT mention Yelp as it announces to receive a discount- to see how far the great customer service would stretch out too. And it did stretch to the very last step out.
I brought my empty glass back and they asked how I liked it. I like how they assess in closure. Turns out they put 3 shots of espresso in the dirty chai for a good price of under $5.
In the end, I felt the warm welcome.Listed in: sit & sip

VEGAN | COFFEE
CUUUUTE coffee shop! The menu had a lot of very special items, like Fresa Latte and Apple Berry Latte.
Casa De Luna is tucked away in a historic district in Bellflower next to an old theater and restaurants. The interior of the coffee shop is modern yet cozy (industrial looking with small tables, cozy chairs, an old piano, games) with huge and vibrant murals of amazing people (Rosa Parks, MLK Jr.) It's the kind of place you barely step into and are already planning your next visit.
The person behind the counter (who I gather is the owner from other reviews) was very nice and friendly. She took awhile with our drinks, which made me think she put a lot of care into it!
Pro's:
- All around awesome indie. coffee shop
- Special drink items
Con's:
- Armchairs were a little flat
Tried:
- Atole (strawberry with soy milk): the first time I had this cornmeal based drink, which was like a latte with a hint of strawberry. Pretty good!
- Mocha Azteca (not exactly sure if it was this exact one, but it was a chocolate drink made with soy milk): MMM, I loved this! It was very chocolaty, but not disgustingly sweet.
Verdict:
- Great place to hang out, study, etc. I'll be back to try more of their drinks and play Scrabble! -
Review from Tiffany D.

Even though this little coffee joint is a little far from my house, its by far one of my favorite places to go study. Not only do they offer free wifi, they are also open late in case you need last minute cramming to do!
The ambiance is nice, friendly service, and the drinks here are by far my FAVORITE! I tried their banana nut latte, super BOMB. Usually when I order my lattes I like it hot, foamy and non fat milk. Other coffee shops usually make it too bitter, too strong or no foam at all. Casa de Luna had it just right :]
On certain nights they have musicians play outside at night. If your strictly there for studying, no worries you cant hear them from inside :) dont forget to mention yelp for 10% off! -

Was looking for a cafe or coffee house that was unique and not too far from home, but far enough to escape for a while. Case De Luna is definitely the place to find that escape. The aroma of coffee swirls around you as you walk through the front door. I studied the menu for a moment and then ordered a Banana Nut Latte, which had rave reviews from another "Yelper". When asked (by the guy behind the counter) what I'd like to drink I said, "I've hear that the Banana Nut Latte is really good" He responded quickly, "Where did you hear that at?" "Why on Yelp of course" I got cozy in a chair near the piano and set up my laptop. A girl brought my coffee with a frothy heart, floating atop my latte. It smelled, looked and tasted De-licious! She also asked if I'd like the password for the Wi-Fi, which I graciously accepted. Nice ambiance, jazzy music, semi-cushy chair and just very relaxing. I'll definitely come back AND spread the word to friends.Casa De Luna may just become MY second Casa!
***I only gave them 4 stars because I didn't try any food there. Maybe next time! -
Review from Mirae C.
Yorba Linda, CA
I met with a friend here to study and do homework. Parking was easy - side streets or the parking lot behind the cafe. Apparently, even though there's a 2 hour limit, regulation is pretty lax and isn't usually checked except on Fridays (according to the girl that works here). Even on a Saturday afternoon it was quiet; the music was soft and people were courteous enough to talk in low voices. Seats and outlets are plentiful.
There was only one girl working there so it took a while to get our orders out, but she brought them to us when they were ready.
The vanilla latte was surprisingly delicious; prominent flavor and just the right amount of sweetness. The foam had a pretty flower design on it, too :D
Red velvet cake slice - a bit pricey ($3.80) and not quite as moist as I like my cakes, but still tasty. It went well with the vanilla latte.
I definitely wouldn't mind coming back to be productive. Next time I'll try some tea. -
Review from Reza R.
Fountain Valley, CA
I liked the extensive tea options. I had papaya mango yerba matte; that's a tasty, refreshing, smooth, and energizing beverage.
Sandwiches are amazing. The chicken crossiant was packed with flavor and the side salad that comes with it is better and more fresh than what most restaurants offer as a "side salad".
The service is outstanding. The lady behind the counter was so very sweet, accommodating, and helpful. I think she was the actual owner or one of the owners.
Ambiance here is welcoming. Great for studying or meeting with friends. Only thing I didn't like was the mosquitoes in the partial outdoor area. Sadly, I wasn't here for any art displays, but it seems from the pictures and some conversation I overheard that they usually have new art all over their walls.
Prices are very reasonable
Free Wifi
Open late on weekends
This is my perfect cafe, now if only it were closer to my area -
Review from Anamaria B.
Bellflower, CA
It took me a while to actually try this little coffee shop/cafe, and my boyfriend and I were a little surprised to walk in and find out we were the only customers on a Friday afternoon. But, once we ordered and got our drinks, a crowd of people slowly started to fill up the place.
I had the Mexican chocolate coffee (iced) and my boyfriend had the white chocolate mocha (iced. They were both so good! I also had a ham and cheese croissant and he had a chicken croissant sandwich with spinach salad. The jalapeno and avocado dressing they put on our sandwiches hit the spot!
Straight to the point: the service is great for an up and coming place, the food is very satisfying, the drinks are exceptional, and the ambiance is great for study groups and quaint lunches. I hear there is also free music nights now and then, too. Great place to get your music out to the public! -
Review from Jacob J.
Carson, CA
I came here to tutor one of my clients and even though it was well out of my way, I'm a huge fan of the place. Great quality, service, ambiance, and nice study atmosphere. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because there's only one person working. I mean, I sympathize with the need to keep costs down in an independent little shop like that but it does impact service in the end. Just keeping it real, but aside from that they do deserve 5 stars...
Sweet ambiance, awesomely clean bathrooms, and they have a separate lounge type area divided from the main restaurant by a cool glass barrier. The decorations are... interesting. The Mexican chocolate with espresso was delish and had quite a kick. I'll definitely return if I'm in the area.
Oh, and to get on the WiFi you just ask the barista and she'll give you the code... Gotta have that WiFi -
Review from Notso H.
Long Beach, CA
Just got back from my first visit to this coffee house. It was pretty empty, but I would imagine that this place gets pretty crowded on the weekends. Loved the vibe here. Laid back, and serene (except for the few little darling children that came in and insisted on banging on the piano...while their pregnant mothers looked on obliviously ).
It was too early for any pastries (their delivery had not gotten there yet) so I had the Ham & Cheese Breakfast croissant and a large White Chocolate Mocha. YUM. Both were VERY good. I even ordered a second cup ("Jim NEVER has a second cup") of the coffee...in which the Barista (owner?) customized more to my liking by adding an extra half ounce of chocolate.
I now have a "frequent drinkers" card on file, and will apparently get credit for every coffee i buy until I get a free one...nice touch!
While it is about 25 minutes from my home...and I probably pass 8 Starbucks locations to get here... there was something uplifting about coming in, and actually getting a seat; unlike at Starbucks where the unwashed come to sit their asses at a table while they nurse a cup of FREE ice water for an hour...sucking up the free WIFI bandwidth while others (like me) stand around holding their $5.50 cup of coffee wondering why we can sit down.
I plan on coming back here often. Maybe I'll even serenade the crowd with some piano playing. -
Review from Hyerim L.
This is it. This was what I was looking for.
Coming from LA where there's a cafe on nearly every corner to Cerritos where there's nary open past 10, this place is a godsend. It has the urban/industrial feel that I love, yet it's cozy and intimate with armchairs, full bookshelves, and a sparkly Christmas tree. There's a piano for the musically inclined, and occasionally they have local bands come in and perform too. You get a wide range of customers here including dates, businesspeople working a pitch, artists, students, even cutesy old grannies in full Christmas getup. I parked myself along one of the tables along the wall, hooked up to the free wifi, and proceeded to study for the next six hours along to some soft Norah Jones and Michael Buble in the background. Oh, and it's open till MIDNIGHT on Fridays and Saturdays. Perfect.
The barista was a darling. I usually don't order caffeinated drinks, but she recommended the chai latte so persuasively that I had to get it. And oh lordy, am I glad I did. I wanna drink that thing forever. And as a huge tea drinker, I went gaga over their huge 50+ tea menu. Tried their golden grapefruit green tea which was yummy and soothing, planning on trying their sandwiches next time.
Sidenote: I love how they keep their customer's pointcards in a basket. To someone like me who's prone to misplacing those things, it really shows how much they care about their customers by keeping it safe AND providing an incentive to come back. Whether you're looking for a place to study, relax, or grab a cuppa, this place is perfect. Bookmark it NOW and get on it.Listed in: Study spots in north OC / LA…

This hole-in-the-wall place is excellent for a short stop for coffee! The decoration is cute, the area is quite quiet so studying can be done, and the ambience is relaxing. There are some great artwork on the walls. Most of the drinks are less than $5 with a choice between small or large. If you choose the "for here" option, the barista will bring you your drink in cute Casa de Luna customized coffee cups. And not to mention the coffee artwork - that's always a plus. Try the banana caramel latte if you're into bananas - the hint of bananas is just perfect! The barista was very nice and easy-going. I will definitely come here again.

yum yum yummy coffee and great service!
my friend and i were looking for a great place to study and this place impressed us! its not just a study spot where you can get some quiet and relaxation, it also has great coffee. i ordered the coconut mocha and it was "glorious!", just enough coconut and not overpowering. my friend ordered the mocha azteca. i had a little taste of her coffee and it was a nice mocha taste with a hint of spice.
we ordered some sandwiches and they were delish! i ordered the veggie and my friend has the turkey. we had the option to pick pitta bread, croissant or baguette. the sandwiches both came with a nice spinach side salad. very filling meal!
the gentleman at the bar was great. he was friendly (great conversation) and took his time with preparing our coffees to perfection! -

Just call me Cafetero.
THE FOOD (DRINKS):
You must try the Mocha Azteca. I wish they offered this thing by the gallon. It has the sharp lash of well-brewed coffee, the right nibble of cinnamon, and the sweet, flirty splash of Mexican chocolate. It's served on a hefty, hold-up-a-bank-with-this-coffee-mug type of coffee mug. My wife had the hot, vanilla-flavored Maizena and that too was great.
THE SERVICE:
Only one young lady was watching the counter when we showed up and she took care of business; in fact, she even brings the drinks out to you. How about that, Starbucks?
THE PLACE:
Just like other fellow Yelpers rave and claim, this place is very, very comfortable. It's surprisingly quiet. Some young folks were studying, others were playing a board game, and a large group of 8 was comfortably seated in a lounge-like room at the back of the coffee shop. The Spanish rock plays at such a comfortable volume you almost believe you've heard all of the songs before. You hear some loud laughter here and there, but you're so relaxed you're going to wish you'd heard the joke too. Yeah, I live 3 blocks from this place......love it. Plenty of free, well-lit, city parking. Open until midnight on Saturdays!!
THE RATING:
Five stars because this place just feels right. The color, the artwork, the music, the I'm-taking-this-couch-home couches, and of course, the awesome cup of coffee you are served. -JAC! -

I'm so torn on Casa De Luna. While my first visit was a 5 star experience, my second visit was 2 stars. Thus, my current review is 3 stars. Hopefully, when I return I can push this up to a 5 star.
My first visit was in the evening, I met CG for some much needed girl talk and super-yummy-alicious beverages. CG ordered the Mocha Azteca (Mexican hot chocolate with a shot of espresso). I ordered the Chai Latte. Both drinks had a perfect froth with a flower blooming atop. The drinks were served in a beautiful Casa bowl type mug and set the perfect mood for our conversation. The seats are a little hard, but it's not an experience-ruining factor.
The second time I visited, MC and I came on a Sunday Morning to launch our girl day. I ordered the Chai, while MC ordered the Mocha Azteca. The drinks were served in narrow generic cups, with no froth and no flower. =(
RIGHT? Such a bummer.
Well, I hope that this second visit was a fluke...the flower, froth and cups are necessary. Please Casa....don't forget the froth, flower and beautiful cup....without that you are a low key Starbucks. -

I liked watching this aquarium with a fish swimming around. There was an outside area where you can sit and watch kids playing outside. The music was relaxing. And they have wi-fi!!!
Bring your laptop, order your drink and sit wherever you like. I forgot what I ordered..I think it's some kind of tea. Probably black tea or white tea. My tea wasn't sweet enough so I asked the guy to add some honey. Yes, they care about customer service. They will fix your drink the way you like it.
I didn't feel rushed at all. I didn't realize I was yelping there for hours. I heard the hot chocolate was good there. Maybe I will get that next time.

I bought the Living Social deal and went for the first time today! I was looking for a new coffee shop where I could study and found it! Omar is awesome! Inquire about the Frequent Shopper deal card. Turkey sandwich was delicious! The only thing I wasn't a fan of was parking...2 hour parking in the lots and on the streets, although I'm not sure if it's enforced, but PLENTY of parking is available.

****Tasty Tea Heaven.. You Will Be Dancing on Clouds****
Hail Tea, full of grace. Taste is with you. Blessed are thou amongst all teas. Blessed is the fruit of your flavor.
~The Pearly Gates
Comfy n Cozy with the warmth of delicious tea leaves. Be romanced by the debonair fish who does no less than flirt his gills off. Art work abound and plush living room furniture will have you relaxed the moment you set foot inside. Soft music playing and wide open windows and doors lead you to an outside area covered by trees with a pleasant park view. Add the flavor and aroma of their vast tea selection and you will be dancing on clouds.
~The Fruit of Paradise
Japonese and Chinese Green Tea mix with a touch of caramel had my fingers wrapped around the cup. I could not put it down.
This is the place to come for hours. Come and sip on various teas, coffees and..oh yes.. The best cup of hot chocolate I have had in years! Bring your laptop and enjoy the wifi. You can bring a book or a friend to chat with and you will find yourself enjoying a wonderful evening.
Casa De Luna.. you are just about as good as it can get. -

One cold winter evening this year, my home's Internet connection went awry. Fixing it would take a couple of days. Sucking it up at a Starbuck's and utilizing its "free" wi-fi, I hopped onto Yelp to assist me in locating a hole-in-the-wall establishment that offers free wi-fi.
That's when my love connection with Casa De Luna commenced.
Now, it was enough to read initially that this coffeehouse was tucked away into a quiet street and was NOT a chain. Upon further reading, however, I found out that they served OVER 56 TYPES OF TEA!
I am not a coffee drinker. Never have been, never will be. All those generic chain coffee shops try to offer tea, but usually fail me. I cannot find even ONE that'll satisfy my craving (unsweetened, Asian teas). Here, I have several favorites, and have never gone wrong with any of them! My frequent buyer card is filled to the brim with tea orders (hehe).
Usually here any given day/evening on my laptop with my friend, eating one of their delicious sandwiches (with a side of spinach sprinkled with feta cheese) and a fruity pastry along with our teas. Wish I could be more descriptive than this, yet words have escaped me.
Aside from its friendly ambiance of an atmosphere, talk to the owners. They're just as outgoing and gregarious, more so than the average baristas slaving away at your local Starbucks. I have felt more at home here than any other coffee establishment.
I don't review every single place I go to, even if they were spectacular (food, drink, or otherwise). A place I review will be one I'm a regular at AND supersedes my expectations. Many places just don't cut it. :) -

Omar and Angelia (the owners) and staff are very hospitable and make the BEST Americano. Tried the Mexican Americano today, delish.
I really appreciate the commitment Casa shows to our community here in Bellflower. They generously donate their coffee to non-profits in the area and foster a deeper sense of community in by way of their periodic concerts and art exhibits. -

OH MY! Luna you have captured my heart!
Located off the main street of Bellflower Blvd. and tucked away so you might not even notice it, is Casa De Luna Coffee House. A quaint and friendly place where you can enjoy live music, fresh coffee, and over 57 different fresh leaf teas to pick from.
We stopped in here because I have been noticing the reviews on Yelp and because of some of the nice pictures that were displayed online. Not a single thing about this location failed me at all.
One of the owners was working that day and so I was able to have a little chat about their establishment, coffee, and all the things that happen here each month. She was so kind, friendly, and made us a couple of amazing drinks.
They feature live music at certain times during the month, very clean and up-to-date bathrooms, a private room that you can rent for a small group event, outdoor seating and an environment that is just perfect for coffee and a chat or your favorite book.
Goodbye Starbucks, goodbye over crowded and loud coffee houses, goodbye mass produced coffee and tea...and HELLLLLO Casa De Luna!
VERY RECOMMENDED! -

I love this place! Free wifi, lots of tables indoor, an outdoor area that looks out to a little park area... and there seems to be a room with couches than can be used for meetings. The food is good and so is the service!! $4.50 for a delicious chicken sandwich with a salad. And it's a REAL sandwich. With fresh ingredients. Everything is organic. I was told the espresso drinks are strong too. I think I was served by the owner and he greeted me right when I entered. I was there for a few hours and he didn't seem to mind. He even offered to refill my hot water for my tea.
There are a few outlets and I think there may be one outside as well. I'm not sure if the wifi connection is very strong outside and there was only one small table. But that's ok. There were cute wooden benches and chairs outside too. No covering for the rain, but still nice. My sister met me here with our two dogs and they loved it! They're not allowed inside but at least there's an outdoor area.
I'm definitely gonna make this one of my spots! -

Woooooweee~ Definitely a precious hole in a wall.
De Luna offers such a wide variety of organic teas, just the thought makes me want to go back and try them all! I ordered (if I'm not mistaken) the no sugar added ice blended vanilla. mm mm mmmm :) There are rare no sugar added drinks that have a satisfying sweetness to it, but this one definitely does quench it. Also, there is a bookshelf in the back which offers an eclectic reader's choice. (Note: Dictionary of Dreams is a fun read. Trust.)
Personally, this place deserves a 5 not only because I was served by the beautiful owner, but just all this place it has to offer.
-You know it won't get those EXTREMELY long lines like coffeeBean and starbucks.
-wood and plush seatings. with tables if you're looking for a place to study. lounge plush seatings if you just want to get away from it all and relax.
-savory drinks.
-amazing looking pastries.
-beautifully decorated.
-nice bathroom. (4/5).
Oh! And I noticed the beautiful photographies on the wall. Some of them just transfers you right inside! The whole experience I had there was awesome. DELIGHTFUL! -

Does this place truly deserve 5 whole stars? I would rate it 10 stars if I could, I found this place thanks to my peeps from Yelp, you never let me down. The place is easy to find, drive down Bellflower Blvd, make a turn on Belmont and park on the side streets. It's the coffee house next to the old skool theatre.
We got a chance to meet one of the owners of the coffee house, part of the husband and wife team that run the place. He was very nice and accomodating, we ordered a strawberry tart, hot vanilla latte & hot coconut mocha, both drinks very good by the way. I'm not much of a coffee drinker and even less a tea drinker, but the vanilla latte was delicious and my friend's coconut mocha made her smile big time. As for the strawberry tart, I only got 1 bite of it because my buddy couldn't stop eating it, I would have lost a finger if I tried to get another piece, it was fantastic.
All the furniture is from Ikea I believe and the place had a real nice flow to it. You can sit inside the store with the cool A/C blowing or chill outside in the back by the courtyard with the water fountain. It was very relaxing, we were reading the Astrology book they had there along with a hundred other selections in the book case. They also have free wifi and nobody bothers you, you can chill as long as you like. They have a frequent visitor card, buy 10 drinks and the 11th is free! Also, if you refer a friend they give you $0.50 credit towards your next purchase and your friend gets 20% off their bill, what a deal!
They've only been open for a year but they seem to know exactly what they're doing, I've got a new coffee spot, see ya there! -

Was lucky enough to try Casa De Luna Part Deux. This place is ridiculously fab and if you're in the area, you've got to stop in! This time the adorable barista suggested the Mexican Chocolate Latte and served it up to me in her "favorite mug". (How cute is she? I think her name is Lucy.)
Of course, the Mexican Chocolate Latte was awesome. But on this visit, the place was packed with such cool patrons! Some girls studying, a guy working on some music on his guitar strumming quietly to respect the others...a small group outside planning their trip to Europe. It was just the perfect coffee shop vibe... all with tunes like Ray LaMontagne playing in the background. It doesn't get any better!1 Previous Review: Show all »

First time here, came in out of the rain. Perfect coffee. Clean, clear, smooth, thick taste. Arguably the best I've ever had. And my wife's coffee tasted equally fantastic. Gorgeous. I never expected coffee to taste so luxurious. Sincerely, it was *that* good. --I'm not connected to these folks in any way. In fact, I'm a food snob who finds most stuff to be utter crap. That's why I want to support places like this, so that more people demand food and drink of this caliber. Stop settling for mediocre!
Also, they have a well-stocked reading selection. So, there's that.
