Carriage House B&B
2 reviews for Carriage House B&B
This place is very cozy, and extremely reasonably priced. At $60-80/night, this beats some of the motels in town, which in my opinion are grossly overpriced.
The atmosphere is rich and complex, somewhat eccentric, but very cozy. Instead of the usual bagged plastic cups of most hotel chains, you get nice ornate glasses. The bathrooms are very nice and modern. The wireless internet (which is encrypted) works seamlessly and is very fast.
The breakfast is outstanding--a multi-course meal that is nutritionally balanced and not too heavy. I've stayed here twice and I loved it both times. I will always stay here if there are rooms available when I visit Grinnell.
this bed and breakfast was reminiscent of lovejoy's in
sf (read: it kind of feels like you're in a dollhouse.) the owner was
courteous (though not very warm), and the rooms are a steal at roughly $60-80. the real shining point here is their amazing breakfast spread - egg dishes, fruit, oatmeal, baked peaches, and then some! carriage house provides the closest accommodations to grinnell's campus, so that's a big plus as well.
