After a long time of debating/stressing out about changing our kitchen floors, housemates and I decided to change our floors with Carpet Contractors... and we were FLOORED (haha) by their amazing job and price.
The price was definitely cheaper than anywhere else we could find.
2 guys arrived right on time, and were very courteous. We scheduled the job with Dimitri, I believe he may be the owner... He was really knowledgeable and polite. His recommendations for our floors were spot on, hands down...to the flo! They installed brand new floors and removed all traces of the old icky floor in less than 3 hours.
If you're even considering getting new floors, I recommend Carpet Contractors, no doubt.
With their affordable price and efficiency, they made it sooo easy for us to dance on our brand spankin new beautiful kitchen floors. -

I was initially impressed with Carpet Contractors. They installed the carpet on schedule, worked professionally and all seemed well.
However, the carpet started unravelling almost immediately at the seam. During my subsequent attempts to get the problem fixed I was very dissatisfied with both the work and customer service of Carpet Contractors. Until now I never wrote any kind of reviews but after finding Carpet Contractors on yelp I wanted to share the great experience I had with them. I needed carpet for my rental unit, (landlord didn't want to swap it out and it was nasty) I didn't know where to start so I yelped carpet installers and found them. I went to their show room on Geary and told them what I was looking for and what my budget was. They knew what exactly I was looking for and they even offered to come out and do estimate that same day and have the carpet installed the following day. I was impressed, not only that they carried inexpensive carpets in stock not like other carpet companies that say they don't carry low end and will take 3 weeks to get it ordered. Prices were very good and service was excellent! Sales staff was not pushy and trying to up-sell you on stuff.
When the installers came the following day once again I was impressed how speedy and efficient that they were. They removed the old carpet, installed the new carpet, cleaned up and even vacuumed the carpet when they were complete. Pretty spacious 2 bed room apartment got new carpet in less than 3 hours ;) Totally impressed and the quality of carpet wasn't that bad, same kind you will get in regular household. I went with Green material and price point was about the same as regular carpet. -

We've used them twice in the past 10 years. Their price is really good and offers good service. On the second time, we did look around and compared the prices, but they still had a better deal than other places that we looked at.
We're very happy with them that we're about to replace a carpet with them again :) -

I have been using Carpet Contractors for years, literally since 2004. They have carpeted complete houses for me 4 times and smaller apartments a number of times on top of that. Up until this most recent installation, they were great. This latest installation was not as good as previous installations. Their prices are good, the service is good, and the communication was good. They were flexible when I had to reschedule the installation, and they arrived on time and completed the work on the same day for a large 4 bedroom house.
However, the installation on the stairs needed a re-do, and other areas just look a bit off. They say it's because of the cheap carpet I chose for this installation and that it will look better as the carpet relaxes and gets some use, but still, it could have been done better. I guess it depends on the installation crew you get.
As for in-store service, you do sometimes have to make a point of finding a sales person to talk to. Jaleh is friendly and professional. Ask for her if she's available. (She also does the measurements.) She has helped me on the last few jobs -- and helped me get the stairs redone on this most recent job.
They also were willing to cut up sections of the old carpet to be taken away and have edges sewn on them so I can use them as rugs in my new apartment. They charged a nominal extra fee for the binding and delivery. Nice to re-use what had been an expensive carpet, rather then sending it to the landfill or recycler.
If my only experience with them had been this one recent job, I would have given one or two stars, but I'll give them 3 because I know they usually do better. -

I strolled in here on a Saturday afternoon with one thing in mind and ended up leaving with a few different samples for my bedroom. Demetri was so easy to work with, no pressure and made some really good suggestions. I returned on Monday with my Greek speaking Godmother (cuz she feels the need to be protective) and she was quite surprised at the great quality of the carpet that I chose. I did spend a little more than I planned, however, the carpet IS a nice grade and was approx 50% off of retail. 2 days later Demetri was at my house to measure and schedule my install (Very Niiice)
The installers came out the following week (per my request) and did a beautiful job. I was SUPER sick with a bad flu when they came but they were in and out of here before it was time for my 2nd dose of meds :)
Do yourself a favor, check these guys out! They will not disappoint.

We had a minor disaster - a housemate moved out and left the carpet in her room damaged by pet urine. We tried everything we could to get rid of the horrible smell but ended up needing to replace the carpet in the room.
(By the way - if you ever have this problem - just go straight to ripping up the carpet and padding, and paint the floor with Kilz or some other good quality sealant - nothing else will remove the smell - not enzymes, not Oxyclean, not vinegar and baking soday - once it's dried on it might as well be stinky Super-glue.)
I met with Nick, who didn't bat an eyelash at the small job - he helped me pick out a carpet - very quickly, I might add, considering the huge selection - that was close to the original in color and quality, gave me a fair price, and did the job less than a week after our communication.
Everyone I worked with - Nick, Guidio (who came out and did the measurements and gave us the estimate) and the gentlemen who actually did the work - was professional, kind, courteous and friendly. The new carpet looks beautiful - they did a great job!
By the way - Nick has an *amazing* memory - his company did the original carpeting for the complex we live in probably 20 years ago, and he described the layout of our apartment *to a T*! :O Just brilliant. :) -

Dimitri is the rep from Carpet Contractors that i've been working with for several years now and he's never let me down once. I've had them install linoleum and carpet for many of my vacancies and their finished jobs are always 100%. i would highly recommend Carpet Contractors for their outstanding level of costomer service and fine installations. -

Last year when there's a big storm, 2 apartments in our building were water damaged and the carpets needed to be replaced. My husband checked several carpet companies and Carpet Contractors finally got his business.
First of all, their price was at least 30% cheaper than the others in the area. Secondly, Jaleh was very nice and prompt to come to make the measurement. Some other companies could not come until the following week. Thirdly, she really gave professional advice on choice of carpets. She recommended the commercial grade which was thick enough to keep the apartment warm.
Jaleh ended up won the business and the installers did a great job, fast and decent. Also, they cleaned up after their work, including removal of the soaky old carpets out of the building. Yes, they did show up a bit late but they have called ahead informing that they would be late.
Jaleh's "neighbor" worker Nick is also a very nice and humorous guy. We really enjoy working with them and would have no doubt to refer any business to them. -

Very helpful. Great sales help. A great, nice, efficient installer who did a fantastic job. They were great in working with my schedule and my budget. I honestly feel like a got a good (if not great) deal. I don't say that very often.

I needed a rush-job, two rooms, carpeted QUICK. And Carpet Contractors performed very well. A reasonable quote, very professional, available for installation the next day. They did a good job, fast work, and cleaned up after themselves too (a pet peeve of mine).

I am very surprised that so many people seemed to have had a pleasant experience with Demitri. At the end of my dealings with him I am shocked that he still has a job, he was beyond rude even though I was buying a very expensive carpet. The guys who did the install were very professional and did a great job which was a wonderful change to dealing with Demitri so they get five stars.

I have been using Demetri at Carpet Contractors for many years and he is the BEST! I am a Realtor and whenever one of my clients needs carpet, this is the place I ALWAYS recommend. No need to "shop around" --- Demetri will give you hands-down the best service and the best price. His mantra is "When do you need it?" and whatever the answer, it 's never a problem. Plus, he is an exceptionally nice person, always going out of this way to accomodate your needs. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Expect to be ignored when you walk in. Make sure you know all the right questions to ask before going here, because they won't volunteer any information. If you have a small job, don't expect them to care. If your on a tight budget, don't expect much of a selection. If they tell you they can install the next day, well, they won't. They'll make you wait 3 days. They get 1 star for customer service and 3 stars for a quick (once they were there) and satisfactory installation, for an average of 2 star service.

Very friendly service! Had a very nice conversation wtih Nick prior to my visit. I knew what to expect and he kept his promise to me! When I arrived I was greeted and welcomed. I was able to find something I liked very much within my budget. There were no surprises in the final cost of the flooring install. I was told a later date but Nick was able to push my date sooner. It would have only been a 3 day wait to begin with. Not bad at all considering I had to order the flooring. I loved Carpet Contractors and had a great experience. I would recommend them and use them again!

We have used Carpet Contractors for over 20 years. They have carpeted our 3 bedroom Mission District victorian flat and our tenant's units several times over, including hallways, stairs and bedrooms. We installed everything from inexpensive industrial strength nylon hall carpet to the most expensive wool carpet. Dimitri,, his dad and their crew are unfailingly professional. They are responsive, show up on time, work nonstop at all hours, and do a terrific job. My experience has been that their prices beat any chain store. But if you select from their existing inventory, you can get an absolute bargain. I have always found them to be very customer service focused, and after my first visit, in 1990, they always remembered my name, address and the carpet they installed most recently. Highly recommended.

We recently contacted Carpet Contractors to install carpet in our office.
We received a prompt reply to our e-mail that was sent from their website.
The response was professional and with much knowledge from Jaleh.
My employer visited their showroom and picked out two possible carpet samples for the office.
Jaleh came to the office, took measurements and we asked her recommendations of the two samples that was picked. Our impression is that she great style and good taste and would make a right recommendation.
The carpet persons came to the office and installed the carpet and cleaned up and left the place clean. They were friendly and professional.
The office looks great!
I would recommend Carpet Contractors to others. -

Price over the phone sounds great, until they arrive for "measurements." Then the price becomes greatly inflated.
Can't say I know much about their service because I canceled the job when they changed the quote then lied about what was quoted over the phone. One star because they are just thoroughly dishonest. -

I've been using Carpet Contractors for about 3 years now. I help my client renovate homes and sell them. I always need to get three estimates and they always win! I use them for both linoleum and carpet and they do a fantastic job. Nick or Dimitri is always available and they are very responsive.

I wanted to surprise my wife while she was away by recarpeting our entire upstairs. I spoke with Nick, and the next day Guidio came out to my house and measured my rooms. He also had with him a bunch of samples for me to choose from. We arranged to have the install done the day after my wife left so that I would have time to move some furniture around. Since I wasn't able to free up all three bedrooms at the same time, they arranged to do two bedrooms, the hallway, and the stairway, and then return the following day so that I could move the furniture back into the completed rooms and allow them to finish. The installers were prompt and professional. They did an excellent job and vacuumed up afterwards. My wife was very surprised and extremely pleased that I was able to do this while she was away. THANK YOU Nick, Guidio, and the install team for doing such a wonderful job!

Wow, pick out carpets one day and they are installed the next! It was almost too fast for me to handle. I called on Friday to see how long it would take to get someone out with samples--Monday. Ok. I talked with Dmitri over the phone on Friday about the unit and rooms the new carpeting was for (tenants), my expectations (wash and wear, durable, and neutral colored). He said he'd bring samples on Monday when he came to measure. Well, the sample I picked matched the wall and molding colors exactly as if Dmitri already knew what was needed. Installers came on Tuesday and the carpet was in before sunset. They look so nice. The installers did an ace job (I found one guy down on his knees with a carpet scissors clipping loose ends where the edges met). Padding is higher quality then the last carpet had. It looks great! Thank you. I will call them first when I need other carpeting replaced and well recommend them to friends too.

I visited them on Monday, and had a nice conversation with a lady named Jaleh. She came to my apartment on Wednesday and took the measurements. Then Friday the carpeters came (they were supposed to come between 12 and 1, and they showed up at 1:20). They finished the job within 2 hours, and they did an absolutely incredible job. I love the carpet. I'd give 5 stars if I didn't have to wait an hour an half during lunch at work for them on install day. Also, the price was extremely reasonable! They basically have 12 types of carpets ready to go, and none of them are very exotic, and all are affordable. They do, however, have a large showroom of more exotic carpet fabrics that you can choose from, which requires a separate order, that takes 2 weeks to arrive in their showroom. So if you want a quick job, you choose from the samples they have in front. I am totally satisfed and happy and encourage others to use them.

This is a great company- honest prices with attention to quality and craftmanship. Dmitri and his father, the owners, are good people that believe in treating the customer like king. The office staff is absolutely wonderfuul, the installers professional and skilled. My family has been using this company for years and we have yet to be disappointed in any way.
