My review is for the small restaurant within this grocery store. I've been here a handful of times, getting carnitas tacos and lomo tacos. The carnitas are my favorite. And if you really like them, go to the meat counter within the grocery store. They have different cuts of carnitas, as well as chicharron (mmm..). The lomo tacos are steak cooked with onions, which are really good as well.
This is a very popular spot for Mexican families and folks from the neighborhood. It can get crowded on weekends, filling up the few tables available. They offer tortas, burritos, and weekend specials. They also have a breakfast tortas in the mornings, so if you're walking to the Blue Line stop for work/school, grab a breakfast torta to go.

What a cool place. Lomo is fantastic on tortas. I love tortas.
A buddy of mine suggested grabbing some burritos there. I was a little reluctant, but I was starving.
It is a Mexican grocery with a small kitchen kickin' out real Mexican flavor. The burrito was huge and excellent. Be ready to speak Spanish or do a lot of pointing. They are very helpful and understanding with the language barrier.

No one speaks English here and you will find your pointer finger as well as some scattered Spanish that you picked up in 8th grade Spanish class to come in handy. It is so worth it though. I come here for authentic tacos and eye watering salsa.
Receipt:
4 - Steak Tacos
1 - 34oz Guanabana Juice
Total: $8.42
*I would do a picnic with this food!

This brief review is of the taqueria component, not the grocery store component, which I haven't really used except once when I had a craving for Mexican Coke.
Their tacos are decent. The meat tends toward the salty side, but it's also pretty fresh and flavorful, whereas at some of these other carncerias the quality can really vary depending on the time of day you go. Everything is very, very, very cheap.
The problem I have is that on my most recent visit the seating area was just flat-out dirty, like it hadn't been cleaned in hours. Now, there's a big difference between the seating area being dirty and the cooking area being unsanitary, and this is a case of the former rather than the latter. Still, it's not something that whets one's appetite.

Maybe I'm nuts, but I don't think I've had a better "casual" burrito anywhere else in Chicago. And this is from a guy who eats at least one a week (usually follows heavy beer drinking).
It's a less salty, less expensive, and bigger version of La Pasadita's burritos. I would give this place five stars except they close the grill at freaking 7:30pm. And I kind of agree with the 'messiness' of the eating area. It's not that it's dirty, it's just untidy. They do need to use the broom more often.
If you like steak burritos, this is the place to go. Flavorful flank steak sprinkled with a touch of cilantro. Not the ground beef that some places claim as steak. Go - you'll thank me.
