Like so many others have said, this place is the epitome of relaxation. I only got to stay one night, but I would have loved to have stayed for a week or more.

The cottages are perfect. The grounds are beautiful. The hilltop pool and view are gorgeous. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. And, of course, the outdoor shower is amazing.

Now I just need $300K so I can buy one of the cottages in the Orchard and come here whenever I want.

My one gripe, that I can't really blame the inn for, was the loud, outdoor sex that our neighbors decided to have in the afternoon. I understand it's a romantic place, but PLEASE--there are other guests at the inn, this is not your house, please keep it indoors. I was sitting outside on the patio with my mom when the incident occurred, and I am now traumatized.

This is the fourth time I've stayed here, and I wish I could live here. The cottages are fantastic, I love the grounds, the privacy, the patios, the outdoor showers...the list goes on and on. The beds are the best I've slept on in my life.

I also had the luxury of getting the mellow mama prenatal massage this past weekend, and I can't say enough good things about the massage therapists there, MY GOD. I got to lay on my tummy for the first time in SIX MONTHS because they have some cool little contraption to support me and my growing belly.

Definitely pricey, but this last visit was a gift for us, so it wasn't out of our pocket *phew*.  All I kept telling my husband was "I want to live here forever".

If I had the money I'd buy a timeshare here.  It was so relaxing.  The outdoor shower, the beautiful Restoration Catalog rooms, the wonderful bloodorange smelling soaps..all of it was so private and peaceful.  My wife rekindled our marriage and sat quietly under the stars in the hilltop sauna literally soaking it all in at 1am.  It was just perfect.

Follow that up the next morning with home made donuts and a cup of joe at Boon Fly and I was so ready to just move in for good.

Yes it's pricey, but it is so unique.  We took advantage of the mi-week getaway special and hardly anyone was there.

What can I say, other than the somewhat out-of-the-way location this resort has it all.  From the individual cottages with your own wood-burning fireplace, private deck and OUTDOOR SHOWER (If you have showered outside under blue skies or a sea of stars you don't know what you are missing.

The setting is incredible and the view from the main pool looks like something out of a movie.  Both restaurants are great as is the open air bar at the Farm.

Yes, the rooms are over $700 per night but worth it!

Stayed here for 3 days / 2 nights.  This place is really really nice.  Super expensive (thank god for free trip!) though.  Totally worth going for a romantic weekend.

The outdoor shower is awesome.

**The most amazing place** to stay in the Napa Valley- great location as well. From here Sonoma and Napa are both easily accessible.  Bike rides and running loops have the best starts here too- endless loops await!

This place is definitely heaven. My sister rented a home here for her 40th birthday and the service from everyone was amazing.

If you have a special event to celebrate? Carneros Inn is your place!

Yowsa.  This place is so relaxing, luxe, and romantic - definitely worth the moola to book a cottage here for a couple nights.

We spent two nights here to celebrate our anniversary and we are already planning our next trip back here.  Carneros Inn is almost like a luxury summer camp for adults - you get your own private cottage and patio area, cute bikes to tool around the acres of well-manicured "orchards," pools to get your swim on, and you can even feed apples to the horses on the grounds.  We loved the outdoor shower, chilling at the spa, rolling out of bed and walking down to the Boon Fly for breakfast, hanging by the pool, and relaxing in the bench swings in the evening.

We had a few minor gripes:  lots of wasps but an "engineer" can stop by your cottage to remove any nests and spray the pests away.  Also, every woman sunning at the pool appears to be in insane shape (can't say the same about their portly hubbies/boyfriends).  If you are self-conscious about your bikini bod (or lack thereof), avoid the pools.  Also, there are no black-out curtains so be prepared to wake up when the sun rises.

All in all, a great romantic getaway located a leisurely drive from our house.

I think i found my new spot to hang out in Napa Valley.
What a great place! You could sit around the magnificent fire pit and relax.
I have to admit it was a little pricey but overall i had a great day. I'll go back for sure.

For our late anniversary celebration and little weekend getaway, we stayed again.  I guess with this being our 3rd stay at the Carneros Inn, we should consider this one of our favorites, if not THE place for us to stay.  Although the weather was unusually cool and windy for a June, it was still a relaxing pleasant place to stay. http://www.yelp.com/bi...

When we arrived to check it, valets were ready to open our car door and greet us.  They immediately offered us a glass of wine, or something different this time, a bottle of soda.  Not just Coke or Sprite, but bottles of Stewart's, Thomas Kemper, Crush, or Vernor's.  Old-time sodas for those who don't want wine.  As usual, the person who checked us in was very warm and friendly, yet took care of our check in quickly.

Soon we followed the valet in his golf cart to our cottage.  Previous visits, we stayed in a Garden Cottage and a Vineyard View Cottage.  This time around we reserved a Harvest Cottage, which was similar to a Garden Cottage, but had added amenities, namely an outdoor gas fireplace and an outdoor two-person soaking tub.
http://www.yelp.com/bi...
http://www.yelp.com/bi...
http://www.yelp.com/bi...
http://www.yelp.com/bi...

The usual room features such as the outdoor shower and spacious bathroom with heated floors, a coffee machine AND an espresso machine were there as well.  http://www.yelp.com/bi...

As always, the service at this inn was very attentive, yet unobtrusive.  Whether up at the Hilltop bar and pool, at the fitness center, or anywhere on site, the staff is always friendly and very helpful and willing to make our stay pleasant.

After a lovely dinner at La Toque, we took advantage of the outdoor bathtub, and relaxed in the hot bath under a starry night, with the outdoor fireplace crackling away.

So peaceful, so relaxing......

Will we be back again?  Most likely.

This is my heaven.

I want to live in this little utopia. The energy, the atmosphere, the serenity - it's all so good, it's sometimes hard to believe it's all for real. From the immaculate grounds and gardens, to the luxurious pool and spa, to the attentive staff, to the rooms that feel like a home (if you had incredible, clean and crisp taste, an appreciation and budget for marble and organic sheets, room service, and an outdoor shower.)

It's one of those places that welcomes you home after a day of wine tasting or that allows you to, guilt-free, enjoy and basque in the fact that you really don't have to leave the property to enjoy wine country.

The pool area has views that will take your breath away - possibly where they coined the term "the good life". It's gorgeous, without feeling pretentious. The spa treatments are awesome - I highly recommend a chardonnay facial or a nice long message. It's completely relaxing.

A few of my other favorites here:
- The clothing market, PlumpJack Sport. Cutest, stylin' clothes ever. It's worth it to go just for this little boutique - best shopping ever.
- Farm. Amazing food and how cool is the outdoor lounge area with huge glassed-in fire area?
- The food market - hello sandwiches with brie and turkey.
- Boonfly. Breakfast. Donuts. Eggs benedict with jalepeno hollandaise - hellllloooooo!

Have fun and cheers.

Weekends at The Carneros are my favorite. It's luxury camping with indoor and outdoor plumbing. I have always found the drive to be very convenient and once I am there that's it for the car. Hours of lounging at the hilltop pool are the best. Bring a book or the Sunday times and just take in the air, sunrise, sunset. The Hilltop pool is heated and 24hrs. I like the size of the cottages and their outdoor shower. It's a must in the morning. Check out what Esquire magazine said about the Carneros Inn and it's outdoor showers. ;)
Like Samantha W. says " this place NEVER disappoints".  For more check out my review for the Orchard and check out the pics. You know what they're worth.

Our initial reaction when we pulled into Carneros Inn was that we had driven into the DHARMA compound from "Lost" -- small cottages, cute gardens, and staff swarming efficiently in tan jumpsuits. However, we got past our initial surprise quickly and wound up having a great visit.

We stayed in the Crane group of cottages, which aren't the largest or fanciest on site. Still, we were really impressed with the nice touches throughout the cottage and resort. Inside the cottages, our favorite features were the heated tile floors in the bathroom, the fantastic beds and linens, the complementary beverages and bottle of wine waiting for us when we checked in, the spacious patio and totally private outdoor shower...so much to like. Our favorite aspect of the resort grounds was the infinity pool up on the hill near the spa, which had a great view of the countryside. The resort's restaurant, FARM, is also worth visiting (reviewed separately).

One other positive aspect of Carneros Inn that doesn't get mentioned enough is LOCATION. The resort is strategically located on Rt 12 right between Napa and Sonoma. If you want to visit both valleys in the same visit, Carneros Inn is a really convenient place to stay.

# 200 Baby!!

I had one of the best weekends of my life here at the Carneros Inn. This is a well-oiled, top notch, luxurious resort. It's extremely unique with it's little community full of, "Cottages, Suites and homes," They're so full of amenities and perks that it makes my tiny apt in San Francisco seem like a slum.

The service here was a force to be reckoned with. We ordered lots (and I mean LOTS) of room service and they were always speedy and organized. Everything was above and beyond.

The spa is a must!! I had a luxurious bath outside and I also had a massage that I swear, was the closest thing to heaven I've ever felt.

Come here...come here often. That is, if you can afford it.

I know I'm reviewing this place almost a year later, however, after a particular incident there I wasn't sure how to even rate or review this place. So after having some time to reflect, I've decided it was time to give a review of our experience at Carneros Inn.

My husband and I went here last July, as a middle of the week escape for the couples package. Upon checking in we were also offered a complimentary room to stay in during the day. The rooms were absolutely beautiful as was the scenery.

The spa offered some good massages, salt baths and nice pools in an open out door setting.

We both enjoyed the service as the employees were always professional, accommodating and nice. However, the reason I had to knock down two stars was for the way we were treated by the manager.

We called to complain about a tripple charge on our card and explained how they never made mention that not ONLY do they charge you a pending fee for the partial cost of the service (which is understandble to see if funds are available) however,  they also proceeded to charge us the FULL amount for the services upon checking out. Basically there was a pending charge on our account for the partial cost to check available funds AND two charges in the same amount at the end of our services. Since when do you have a "second" pending transaction of the entire of service amount in addition to being charged the "actual" amount that same day?

Upon our calling several times and having a difficult time getting our calls returned over the course of several days, we finally got a call back from the manager. After I began explaining the situation to him and asking why we were charged three separate fee's, he tried to say that they do a pending charge to see available funds, however, I explained we recieved that charge upon booking, and did not understand why we got a second pending charge, only this time in the full amount, the very day of our service, in addition to being charged the amount for the services once we checked out. It didn't make sense if they had already checked our funds the first time.

So to make a long story short, we were both clearly upset, I felt the manager did not want to deal with our claim, especially after expressing how upset I was (without swearing or being rude BTW) and instead kept hanging up on me twice. Whenever I tried calling back to let him know how extremely unprofessional what he did was, he went on ignoring the rest of our calls.

Not only was he not understanding but also did not offer a future discount to use next time or even so much as an apology for hanging up and being unaccommodating, especially after what the large sum we paid. He was simply rude, unprofessional and did not reflect the high class of the establishment he was running.

Overall, our experience prior to finding out the charges was good, and the staff was very welcoming and services and accommodations were very relaxing. However, we're still unsure of whether we will be returning here as we don't exactly want to have to deal with the same manager in the future. And to be honest, it pretty much ruined our mini vacation and left us with a not so good impression of the management here.

I would have awarded five stars for the staff, services and accommodations but have to minus two for how poorly we were treated by the manager. And who knows, maybe someday "if" we do happen to give them a second chance, I'll reconsider my review. Until then, this one still stands.

I've come here on 3 occasions...

Wedding
Weekend getaway
Dinner

Carneros Inn is a gorgeous property in a perfect location (not far from the Silverado trail and the gateway to Napa).

They spared no expense whether it be in the design or the amenities... whether it be Frette bed and bath linens, complimentary M&C White Star champagne (hey, that's not local!) in your room, or a concierge that can get you a table at a restaurant that normally requires a 60 day advance reservation.

The grounds are gorgeous and meticulously manicured and, due to my amazing driving skills, I even recently stumbled upon the location of their private bungalows which are separated from the main property via a nifty private electric gate.

The food is definitely better than typical high-end hotel food and the entire experience is a great venue to getaway from SF, whether it be for a wedding or a weekend splurge.

I've been here more times than I can remember.  There used to be a gate on the main road when it first opened -- and all the roads were covered with quarter minus.  It was pretty cool back then.  Really empty, too, though -- with really, really, really bad service.

Then PlumpJack took over.  They brought in a GM from Hawaii who did a great job of raising the level of service.  The architecture is still pretty cheesy, though.  The galvanized troughs for landscaping needed to go years ago.  And the rooms are looking a little nicked up here and there because the interior designer looks like they didn't have enough hospitality industry experience.  Fabric headboards?  Oops.

On the other hand, it's very cool when the horses stop by outside the fence by The Hilltop.  I was feeding them some horse snacks when a cow wondered by, too.  It was so sweet I felt guilty for eating beef.  The fireplaces on the outside of The Hilltop are pretty nice as well.  You can build a fire in  the middle of the night and nobody will bug you.  Farm is a nice place to sit outside and hang as well.  The Spa?  Consistently excellent.

One thing that has really gone downhill over the years is the type of person that stays here.  It used to be regular folks who came to relax and enjoy themselves amongst the peace and quiet.  Now?  Just seems loaded with creepy, snotty San Franciscans escaping from their termite-infested flats for a weekend -- yet still feel the need to outcool each other with their leased cars, overpriced sunglasses and loud cell phone conversations.

Frankly, they all need a hard kick in the crotch.

My wife took me there for my birthday and it was wonderful.  In a place like this, the most important aspect is service.  The service here was amazing.  From our time checking in, when they gave us an amazing glass of hot apple cider to the bottle of champagne they left in our room.  Staying here was worth every penny and I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Go there!  Even though we live only about 25 minutes away, it is like you are a continent away from troubles.

Definitely not cheap but the most relaxing hotel I've ever been to.  The bathtub is super deep and great for relaxing if you don't want to trek your way over to the real hot tub in the cold winter.

The Farm restaurant is excellent and the Hilltop Restaurant is beautiful.   The water and other non-alcoholic drinks in the minibar are complementary which is nice but the alcohol on the rest of the property will run you at least $12 a glass (I'm just talking about mixed drinks not wine) which is a bit high.  The bloody mary's at the hilltop restaurant are super delish by the way (very spicy!).

The service is superb and the feeling is very private.  Also there are a few horses around and an infinity pool (at least I think that's what those kind of pools are called).

The rate we got was $435 + tax for one night including breakfast for two.  The most expensive place I've ever stayed but also the most unique and worth it for a special occasion.

Oh, where to begin ... there are so many reasons why I'm still daydreaming about our time at Carneros Inn ... sigh.  *sigh*

the spa:
I tried to take full advantage of the spa during our stay, but really I could have spent even more time in there than I did.  We had a 30-minute hot bath, full body massage, pulse point massage with exfoliation and scalp/hair treatment and a haircut.  Also, I was battling a MEAN cold, so I spent prolonged periods in the steam room (even on the day that I didn't have any other treatments - so nice that overnight guests can use the locker room whenever they like).  I had both male and female therapists and was impressed by everyone's friendliness and professionalism.  Each person was super competent and really responsive to my feedback.  All the products they used smelled and felt fantastic ... lavender and mustard seed and blood orange, oh my!  I had to buy some lotion from the spa shop to take home a little bit of my spa experience with me.

the food:
room service - yay
restaurants - yay
food from the market - yay
The kitchens at Carneros can do no wrong!  Room service was fast and fresh and delicious.  We had breakfast in our room every day - had great quiche, flatbread, pancakes, fruit bowl, donuts, french toast, sausages ... you get the idea.  They also delivered a great cheese plate with chocolates and sparkling wine for us when we arrived.  So ... we put our "fatty" hats on right away.
FARM restaurant was a very enjoyable dining experience.  Had some good cocktails in the outdoor lounge area (and wine with dinner, of course!) and ate little fried fish bites, beet salad, flatbread with tapenade, pork chop with polenta, duck with beans, and peanut butter mousse cake (!!!  a lot like if Michel Richard's "kit kat bar" dessert made a dessert baby with a flan)
Sandwiches and snacks from the market were reasonably priced and super tasty (tuna melt panini with avocado! eat it!)

the service:
I was so happy to find that everyone was really laid-back at the same time that they were totally competent and helpful.  The concierge and front desk answered our endless questions with unwavering smiles, housekeeping was thorough and unintrusive, all the waitstaff was on point ... and I already mentioned my love affair with the spa.

the room:
bells and whistles!  Our cottage was tricked out but super homey at the same time.  I loved the light system (instead of hangtags) for "do not disturb" and "housekeeping, please" ... the heated floors in the bathrooms ... the outdoor showers ... the flat screen tv ... the fireplace (restocked with a firestarter log thing every day) ... the deep soaking tub ... the little garden patio ... the minibar with complimentary (!) beverages ... the comfy bed with pillows and blankies galore ...

the landscaping:
I couldn't get enough of the beautiful flowers and trees everywhere ... my allergies were going bananas, but it was totally worth it!

the pool:
To be fair, there are 2 pools at Carneros.  I visited the "family" pool only very briefly - mostly in order to walk by the gym and wonder how/why people exercise while they're on vacation ... but the hilltop pool/hot tub is money, baby!  There are plenty of umbrellas and lounge chairs (covered with fitted towels).  I was also really happy to find bottles of SPF 30 by the pool for everyone to use.  It's quiet and relaxing up on the hilltop, and you can get food and drinks delivered poolside ... and a great view to boot.

the quiet:
I was amazed by how few people we saw during our stay.  Granted we were there during the week, but I think there were plenty of people on the property - one day I think we saw maybe 5 other guests.  It felt like our own private getaway.  yay.  At the same time, when we wanted some human interaction, we could get it - our fellow guests were really friendly at the lounge and the restaurants.

the weather:
Now, I know the staff at the Inn doesn't have control over the weather (or DO they?) but it was incredibly gorgeous all 4 days that we were there.  Zero clouds, warm temp, gentle breeze ... thanks, Nature.

Celebrated my daughter's graduation from college with a girls weekend at the Carneros Inn. All I can say is.. 'FABULOUS'.  It wasn't cheap but definitely worth the expense.  We loved everything about the cottage -  the private patios from the bedroom, to the heated floors in the bathroom, to the comfortable beds.  We got pampered with massages and then relaxed in the sauna. Had a wonderful lunch @ the Hilltop Restaurant while enjoying the beautiful scenery and topped it off with an even more fantastic dinner at the Farm Restaurant.  Would definitely like to go again...but would want to spend at least 2 nights there the next time.

Four days of perfection was not enough. I can't wait to go back for more.

The pools were fantastic ... and I loved the kid's pool with all the kid's toys and amenities. My daughter never wanted to leave ... we had to bribe her with Ciao Bella mango sorbet from the market and pizza at Farm.

Our room was beautiful and we enjoyed every inch of the property. The people working there are delightful and attentive to every detail. The Carneros Inn was a great destination for a very special birthday weekend!

This is a very attractive venue, both inside and out, and has a nice open feel to it that let's all parts of your event breathe.

Ceremony location is beatutiful and secluded, and allows for wonderful photo opportunities and scenery all around.

The courtyard is perfect for cocktail hour, mingling, recieving lines, etc.

The hall I have dj'd in (can't remember the name of the room), is spacious and open with the dance floor smack-dab in the center, exactly the way a layout should be.

The only thing that holds back the 5th star for this one in my book was the speed of the dinner service (4 courses yes, but still...).  Might have been an off-night there, so giving the benefit of the doubt, and all other things considered, this one is definitely a winner.

BE WARNED!!!  You won't want to leave.

Beautiful location...check.
Great amenities...check.
Friendly, helpful staff...check.
Good food...check
Romantic, and private cottages...check & check.

This is a place that is elegant, modern, rustic and down to earth, all at the same time. It's  beautifully landscaped with various fruit trees and herbs that are used when preparing your meals at The Farm. The rooms are very nice, and comfortable but not overly done, and it has a nice home feeling to it so you can relax. It's kind of like stepping into a West Elm catalog but it's not too in your face.

It's ideal for a romantic getaway because all the cottages are ultra private with your own patio and an outdoor shower...come on, it's too good to pass up!

The only problem...checking out and driving away.

Absolutely spectacular. The cottages are contemporary with all the details one needs for a resort getaway. Private outside patio with outdoor shower that connects to the indoor shower is a unique and fabulous touch. The Hilltop pool has a beautiful view of the vineyards, makes you feel like you're a million miles away from the city.

We ate at the Hilltop Restaurant and The Farm.. I'll add reviews for both. There is no need to leave the Carneros Inn. The food here is amazing!

I highly recommend this resort if you're looking for a place to unwind, looking for a special getaway, or want top notch service..

I give this place 10 LARGE stars!!

Every couple, especially those with kids, should do this:
1. take a vacation day off of work (M-Th)
2. book a destination day spa package at Carneros Inn
3. leave your kid(s) in day care
4. escape for the day to the Carneros Inn

My husband and I had a perfect day here.
We purchased the Destination Day spa package, which means that if they have the space available, they check you into one of their fantastic guest cottages for the day.  It was beautiful, luxurious, romantic, private - we enjoyed a fantastic couples' massage at the spa and spent the rest of the day lazing by the infinity pool on the hilltop.  we had a delicious meal at the cafe.  I can tell you right now that we'll be coming back again, and not soon enough!  This place has it all: the best in service, amenities, location, food, you name it.  I would love to go back and spend more than just the day.

Stayed there for two nights... it was wonderful. It is one of the best places I have stayed in I wish we had more time there. The views of rolling vineyards- priceless, a place to hide when you need quiet and serenity. The cottages are lovely though not spacious enough- not sufficient room to unpack our suitcases. Heated floors in the bathroom were great although the shower let in cold air from the outside so our showers were not that great!  and oh.. We did get complimentary champagne(for reasons that are beyond yelp) that worked perfect  since we stayed in and ordered room service.

The service-superb!

Unfortunately we were there in first of week of January so the weather was not very cooperative- rainy and fogy so we did not enjoy the great outdoors to the fullest.

we had breakfast at Hilltop- and got to walk up from our cottage and take in the surrounding view which is just amazing.

We had dinner at Farm the food was good and our table was by the fireplace=warm needed especially when you are wearing short dress:) but this you need to request when making reservation. Funny part is my boyfriend got the "wood stone oven flat bread"  on the check it was plainly listed as a pizza- they should keep the fancy  name in the check  just to give you an illusion that you are paying $$ for some fancy bread.

We tried a new wine too-had been introduced to us at one of the wineries in the area and it passed for both of us which is a good thing.
After that we stumbled to our cottage happy souls :)

I really had a good time and felt rested though our stay was brief. I would like to go back when the weather is better (B if you are reading this take note:))

I am long overdue in writing my review, but I think I remember everything clearly enough to be accurate....
Our general feelings about our stay at the CI were positive, and I think we'll end up going back, but we're not dieing to, if you know what I mean.  The property is huge, and the layout is more than a little odd.  I felt like I was in a very luxurious camp - little cabins dotting "courtyards and plazas" and a lot of them - we got very lost more than a few times.  The pools seemed miles away; actually everything seemed miles away except our neighbors.  How could a place be so big but not feel private? Somehow it manages to be so, unfortunately. And we were there in the fall when it wasn't very crowded.  I fear what it would like in the summer.  But in fairness it was POURING when we were there, which did make it harder to navigate and made distances seem larger.
Our room was very nice - we had an outdoor deck/patio that was a little strangely conceived - walled in for privacy but small enough that I'm not sure what you'd want to do out there - no views cuz of the walls etc.  I would have loved to have that space included in the relatively small bedroom. The bathroom was huge and lovely, and the linens were yummy.  As was the fireplace - cozy!  Perfect for the rain.
Speaking of yummy - oh my goodness - the Boon Fly Cafe - breakfast place at the edge of the property - to die for - might be where I'd go for my last breakfast on earth if given the choice.
"Farm", the main restaurant is absolutely lovely and very fun - I didn't love the food, but loved our evening there, and liked the food just fine.  We had lunch at "Market" up by reception (seemingly miles from "Farm") and it was decent - service was a little challenged, but food was tasty.
All in all we had a great time - it will remain in the rotation.

This place is GORGEOUS and honestly, I have no desire to stay anywhere else the next time I go back to Napa.

Our cottage was beautifully decorated, it was simple, comfortable, clean.   The shower was huge and it even had an additional spout (for an additional person or more coverage for yourself).  The bathroom had heated floors.  Loved their soap - it was like a big gumball and it fit perfectly in the palm of your hand and in the soap dish.  We loved it so much we got the soap and dish (dish was different, not as nice as the one in room) from the spa shop.  So funny - another couple had the same idea and got it too.

Drinks in the fridge were complimentary (love it b/c 99.9% of places charge you).

Unfortunately, we were only there for a day and did not get a chance to take advantage of the outdoor patio furniture and outdoor shower!

We walked out to the pool area and it was the most amazing view, it's straight out of a painting!  I had only wished we had taken a picture in the evening instead of the next morning :(

I CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK!!!

4.5 stars...

This is our third time staying here.  Our first time was in 6/2004 before the property was bought out by the Plumpjack Group, 2nd time was 7/2005, and finally 6/2008.    Our overall experience here has always been exceptional.  The registration/check in process, the housekeeping personnel, the in cottage dining, and the amenities are top notch.   There has been a few changes that we noticed this time around.

* The grounds have been expanded with additional pools and restaurants.

* The "target market" has been widened from adults only to include children.  This is most obvious with the "family-friendly" pool and the small wading pool.

* They have started adding chlorine to the Hilltop Infinity Pool.  This is a huge bummer for us since my husband loved swimming in their chlorine free pool and not having his eyes sting.

*  They have changed their turn down chocolate from Scharffen Berger chocolates to in-house Cocoa Bons.  I was told that this is because they serve whatever is available locally during that season.  Frankly, I found that reason odd since Scharffen Berger is local.

* The lounge chairs on Hilltop Pool area are getting a bit old.  Perhaps they need to refinish them a bit to fit the rest of the resort.

Despite some of our tiny disappointments from this recent stay, we will be back for another special occasion.  It's an ideal romantic getaway place for us.

I cannot say enough good things about this establishment! I have stayed here two times so far, and both times were fabulous! If you are heading up to wine country and want to add a more memorable experience, STAY HERE! The woman who helped us, remembered me from my previous visit. They know how to take care of you. Rooms are immaculate!

We wanted a five star, private, but luxurious experience and got one for our 20th wedding anniversary.  We had a bottle of champagne delivered within 20 minutes of check-in.  Nice.  Based on a couple of hiccups in service on this visit, we received responsive VIP treatment on our next in June making this a lock for future return visits.

Cottage dining service is speedy and friendly.  The food is excellent.  Walking around the grounds is a peaceful, uncrowded experience.  The pools are heated and peaceful at non-peak hours.  The fitness center looked great - was too busy relaxing to use it.  There is a decent DVD library in the reception area.  On-site market/deli wonderful.  Did not check out the spa.

Outdoor shower, indoor multi-nozzle shower, heated bathroom floor, blood orange toiletries and fireplace are to die for.

Walking distance to on-site dining at the Hilltop overlooking vineyards and the pool, Farm for upscale dining (outdoor covered bonfire with beautiful cushioned seating) and Boonfly Cafe for casual dining, are right up our non-car bound alleys.

The proximity to fine dining in Yountville and shopping ecstacy at Napa Premium Outlets for me = a real winner for a simply stressless,  hedonistic stay.

I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at this absolutely stunning location this summer. The grounds, the service, the staff, the location and the food was impeccable! Brooke Baglietto did an amazing job and the entire event ran perfectly! If you are looking for a truly outstanding wedding day in Napa, look no further!

I was so impressed with the Carneros Inn, I wanted to treat my husband  and was thrilled that The Farm was doing thanksgiving dinner, we made reservations and the Carneros experience did not disappoint.

We had a beautiful and memorable thankgiving. We will be back soon! Thank You!

This is literally, maybe, one of my favorite places on earth.  It is a bit pricey, but I can't imagine somewhere more worth the $$.  I went for a trip to Napa with a friend, learned that this was owned by Plumpjack (my original favorite Napa winery, great cab) and decided to give it a go.  SO glad I did.

They have private, separate cottages settled along a crunchy gravel path that is well lit with low lights for night walking, so it doesn't detract at all from the ability to look at the night stars.  The cottage we had was fairly large, with two beds, a large wooden patio with a table to dine at or to enjoy a bottle of wine picked up that day at a winery, and two flat panel TVs (one for each bed).  Dining is also outstanding - we tried the hilltop restaurant and room service, with good results both times.  I'm sure it's a very romantic setting, but as I said I was there with a friend, so that part didn't apply to us.

And the bathroom... oh, the bathroom.  The tile floor was be heated, the blood orange soaps and sundries were sumptuous, but it's the shower that really took the cake for me.  I hope it's not too odd to go off on a shower like I'm about to, but ... it was literally a little slice of heaven.  There were something like six shower heads along the wall - situated for two, but completely awesome for one - as well as an al fresco shower.  Really, what could be better than the capability to comfortably and privately shower under a the night sky or a cool morning sunrise?  It was truly amazing, though my friend did (and occasionally still does) tease me about being in there for so long!

Long story short, it was awesome, very relaxing, and I would definitely go back again.

This is my happy place.  We went here mid-week in November for my 30th birthday.  My fiance and I spent a weekend driving around the area searching for the perfect place before picking the Carneros Inn.  We found that for a lot of places that we'd rather stay at the place advertised on the website than the actual inn.

At first, I was a little skeptical of the Carneros Inn because the outside construction sort of metal/trailer park-is---but we didn't leave because i loved the idea of having our own "house".  The inside of the houses are very pottery barn.  The outside private yard is amazing, heat lamps, roses and an outside shower connecting to the inside shower.
The pools (hello 2 pools) are beautiful and I would recommend to have breakfast by the upper pool--great view.  Great romantic getaway.  They also arranged a private tasting in Napa which was a unique experience.

The only negative I can think of is that the room was somewhat small--I think the outside area is larger--but this is the Napa Valley--who would want to spend that much time inside?

This is a 4.5 star review.

The space itself was rather amazing. We ended up with a two-part suite, a large deck that looked over golden fields, two al fresco showers, and just a world of great space to be in.  The hilltop restaurant was great for the guests to have a quiet, beautiful view for breakfast.  The view is truly stunning from there.

We were huge fans of the al fresco showers, with windows, and the ameneties were lovely, with blood orange being one of my favorite scents.  Having free wi fi was also a lovely touch.  It's a steep price to get the room, but the it does provide a wonderful experience.

Why is this not a 5.0?  Well, two things stopped it.  One is that they have some issues with insects.  We had flies and yellow jackets all over the table at the Hilltop, which can be avoided with slow moving fans just to keep the air moving. Also, we had a few mosquitoes in our room, which we managed to dispatch, but it's not an ideal situation. Also, someone decided to be nice to us by providing a double lounge chair for us to enjoy, but they gave it to us about 15 minutes before we were going to check out.  We ended up refusing it, as it was a little ridiculous at that point.  I think if it was delivered the first day, we would have loved to have it.  C'est la vie.
