This is a must whenever I visit wine country...
The sandwiches are incredibly fresh and I love the options they offer! Perfect with chips and soda, providing a nice break from wine tasting. You can eat there in their covered patio but would be great to go as well. Reasonably priced, too! -

Cool little sandwich/wine tasting deli. Ordered a hot pesto chicken sandwich, was ok. Will come back again.

Apparently I stepped into the Carneros Deli that's in the Fringe universe because the sandwiches I have been served, several times now, have been seriously lacking. Reminds me of that poem about self-awareness...the condensed version:
I walk down a street. I fall into a deep hole. It takes me a long time to climb out.
I walk down the street. I fall into the hole. I climb out.
I walk down the street. I see the hole but I fall in anyway. I climb out.
I walk down the street. I walk around the hole.
I walk down another street.
To get the gist of my experience, replace "fall" with "eat" and "hole" with "sandwich." This is exactly how many times I've eaten here without learning my lesson. Stubborn much? In my defense, I have been ravenous and when that happens my brain can only generate enough brainpower to blink. Hence, mistakes have been made.
Well, no more Carneros Deli. I rather eat pocket lint than one of your sandwiches. Take, for instance the hot dog (or whatever that thing is). Raw, tasteless and sloppily assembled, it looks fit for, well, the dog.
Scratch that, the dog would make his canine contempt pretty clear "I shall attempt to assassinate you once again by weaving around your feet as walk, in fact I'll wait until you are going down the stairs. That'll teach you not to feed me this pile!"
BTW, Angelo's is down the street. You are welcome. -

I really love this place! It's a great stop on your way into Napa if you're planning on picnicking with sandos. It's also a little cheaper and a lot faster than the infamous Oakville Grocery. They have quick and friendly service, a wide variety of choices, and they even give you little hershey's kisses with your sandwiches! Definitely a must-stop in Carneros.

After some reviews on Y, I tried this place while in Sonoma. GREAT sandwiches. Fresh made to order and big. Very impressed. Lots of local business during lunch. Great place to grab a quality sandwich and eat at a local winery.

This is a great place to stop while wine tasting for a quick inexpensive bite to eat. Their sandwiches are awesome! I especially loved the Havarti Dill cheese on mine :-)

They make a fine sandwich at Carneros Deli, and they make 'em quick.
It's conveniently located at the crossroads of Highways 116 & 121 (there is probably some local nomenclature for this intersection but I don't know it).
You can also get a cold drink of any type, add a bag of chips and you're on your way.
P.S. There are some picnic tables outside but it's not particularly bucolic. -

My hubby and I are North Bay natives and we like to spontaneously go wine tasting. So halfway to the wineries I realize that I am starving and I'd better eat something before we start tasting!
We spot this little deli next door to a gas station. And we really were expecting to just grab some pretzels or something. But, instead I ended up with a delicious meatloaf sandwich (might be the best I've had). All the sandwiches are made to order with fresh ingredients. They have all kinds of snacks and drinks and even a wine bar with patio seating. And they aren't insanely over priced like most things are in wine country.
We were so surprised. And I am still thinking about that sandwich .... drool -

Stopped in for a quick sammie. Ended up with..
SPONTANIOUS LUNCHTIME WINE TASTING!
score!
Dude in the back used all the right adjectives. Lets review:
rosy bouquet? check.
oakey? check
hints of honey and spice? check
pallette? check
aged in blah blah? check
and so on. and so forth.
Dude was so happy to see someone midday on a monday that he pulled out all the stops. Got the special bottle from under the counter even.
I started stacking bottles on the table and totally blowing smoke up his butt like he was the greatest tasting dudey in the whole west coast plus wyoming.
Then my sandwich was ready. I told him to "hold tight" behind a wall of cabernets and pinots... Dude went to look for some empty boxes in the back.
Paid for my stuff. Waited a few. Walked back to the table.
Casually left him with: "on second thought dude. er. Nah."
and left him with that... "damn, that felt like a sale.." look on his face.
Good sammie though. -

This is a great stop for a snack while on a tasting tour. They have a good selection on sandwich fixings. I love chips and I have never seen a bigger selection of chips in my lifetime! The staff was nice and service had us in and out promptly!

I went to Carneros Deli last weekend for the first time with a date and had quite possibly the best pulled pork sandwich I've ever eaten. The pork was incredibly tender and the BBQ sauce was excellent (I had it with extra sauce). The pulled pork was the daily special, but I hope they add it to the permanent menu as I'll definitely be back again!

Here's the deal, you get everything in this place including great, quick service, and excellent food!!
Family owned and operated, the Carneros deli NOW has something for everyone!!! Let's talk food: Have you seen their all new grab and go Gourmet Foods Deli Case?! Holy smokes, this thing is just packed with amazing goodies from wonderful gourmet cheeses, to pates, meats, pre-made salads, homemade fresh & spicey salsa (this is to die for..sooo good they make it fresh daily) they always have a daily special...which is always sooo tasty! They now have a huge array of food and drinks for the health conscience too! Huge assortment of teas, green tea drinks, protein shakes, and other all natural juice beverages! They offer lots of new gourmet and everyday picnic items, grab and go food for wine pairing or a wonderful afternoon outting. They make killer sandwiches, have a full coffee bar, ice creams, fresh fruit and fruit parfaits, all their toppings are prepared daily too..... none of this crappy, left over veggie selection you find in some Deli's.. they do it right here, and it is clear their motto is fresh is best!
Did I mention they have a beautiful new, enclosed patio?! The atmosphere is so warm and inviting, it is a covered patio, full of nice tables and chairs.
Did I mention their wonderful, new little wine bar in the back?? Oh my gosh, seriously ultra-premium wines.. soo good! and, even though they could charge pretty hefty prices for their Bonneau Wine selection, they keep their prices very reasonable and offer lots of great discounts too!! They serve wine flights for $10 dollars= 4-6 2 oz pours of different wines, and they serve wine by the glass, so you can enjoy some vino w/ your lunch! The wine bar hosts are very knowledgable, funny, outgoing, and show you a great experience!
This sweet Deli is a must stop for all of your food, beverage, and wine needs!! don't miss this one, located at the corner of 116 & 121, it is such an easy stop to grab whatever you need! In a limo? No problem, they accomodate limos, busses, vans, and even take pre lunch orders! So bring a picnic basket, fill it up with goodies, and make this your everyday/every reason "in-between" the valleys stop! You won't be sorry!
