Every time we go to Disneyland, we make reservations for this cafe for breakfast (except the last day of our trip- that honor goes to Goofy's Kitchen.) We've never been disappointed in the food, the service is great, and Oscar makes the whole thing perfect.

The menu is very limited, so our humongous group has tried every possible dish- they're all fantastic. The scrambled eggs definitely could use some help (they look like powdered egg mix or something) and the strawberry topping could be heated up (its cold on your waffle) but those minor complaints are overshadowed by the whole experience. The potatoes have a slight bite to them, the waffles and strawberries are gratifying, and the eggs benedict and croissant sandwich are delicious.

Oscar has visited our table every year we've come and I hope to see him many more years hereafter, even though he's been saying he's retiring for two years now! No retirement for you!

Here are my three tips- make reservations. Number two- make reservations. And finally, make reservations! There's nothing like walking past two dozen hungry people waiting in line, and sitting at your table. Also, if you're here on a sunny day, bring your sunglasses, as the umbrellas don't block every nook and cranny of the sun.

This is a definite must-do for breakfast, especially with reservations.

Loaded Potato Soup = Party in your mouth

Seriously, how can you resist that?

The steak melt is also superb! Although it's probably because I'm always a sucker for sourdough bread loaded with butter.

Haven't had breakfast yet, must try that!

Probably one of the worst breakfast I have ever had. What are these other people on yelp talking about? I ordered the egg scramble and the following other plates were ordered on my table:
1) croisant eggs
2) egg Benedict
3) waffle

The eggs look like they are fake or have been microwaved or something. The taste and texture is horrible. The only item that was decent was the waffles.

I would never come back. I would rather eat anywhere else than come here again.

If you want a moment to chill from the craziness of Disneyland and don't want to do the other fast food type of eateries in the park, this place is a nice alternative.  I came here for lunch for the chicken pot pie.  The food is not bad, but if the park is crowded the day you visit and you don't have reservations, then you can wait awhile to get seated since there aren't a lot of tables.

Best Breakfast ever at Disneyland.

After reading some reviews, I  made first reservation of the day. The operator  suggested to get there early to avoid the wait.

Once we arrived all of the wait staff was attentive to our needs. I always wondered why there was long line for small place. Now, I  understand why.

The huge portion for reasonable meal prices were  superb bonus for our Disneyland visit.
I ordered the Mickey Mouse waffle with side of scrambled eggs. If you tell your waitress that you are a vegetarian, you could replace a different side.  Great bonus
My boyfriend ordered the egg croissant  sandwich. Honestly, it was super huge that  he wasn't  able to finish it.  It's unheard for him.

On my next Disneyland visit, I will  definitely  make  room to visit  this cafe.

I love the Mickey Mouse waffles. What's not to love?

Came here at 8:30 am and waited for 20 min. It wasn't bad considering the place is small and there were only 2 tables that can accommodate 8.

We tried most things on the menu and it was ALL delicious! Service was great!! Food portion was great and the price was definitely great too!

What a great start of the day.

I tried Carnation Cafe because my brother told me their meatloaf.  After a few hours at Disneyland, meatloaf sounds pretty good (didn't really feel like eating burgers or chicken tenders that they would have at the other dining options).  It was a small location, but we only waited for about 2 minutes before we were seated.  My husband ordered the meatloaf (comes with a side of vegetables, mashed potatoes and a piece of bread) and I had their chicken club on a croissant (with a choice of side salad, french fries and potato salad).  The prices were pretty reasonable especially when you are at a theme park and the food was pretty good too, I think the meatloaf was about $12.00 and my chicken club was about $10.00.

I think the best part is the free refills on their sodas.  It's usually not a big deal but when you order from the other places (not a sit-down restaurant), there are no free refills.  You order a drink that is filled with a lot of ice and barely any soda and I'm usually done with my drink before I'm even half-way done with my meal.  Plus, our waiter asked if we wanted a soda to go as we were finishing up our meal....of course we do.  So that was a definite plus, I would eat there again next time I visit Disneyland.

Came here for breakfast during my first visit to the park. Line wasn't too bad around 9:30am, we only had to wait around 15 minutes for a table.
I ordered the classic Mickey waffle with sausage and it was delicious! The waffles never get old!
Service here was also friendly. My friends knew the head chef, Oscar and we were lucky to have him visit us and sit with us during our breakfast!
Definitely would love to come back here for breakfast again when I visit Disney Land.
Prices for entrees were around $10 and under.

DECENT PRICES AT DISNEYLAND? NO WAY!

It was a short wait in the morning for this small cafe off Main Street in the park. The portions are fairly large and the price is fairly good at about 8-10 per plate.

The eggs were pretty good! The potatoes are were pretty good also. The croissant was plain/boring.

The croissant benedict was a real treat. Hollandaise sauce smothered over the potatoes and the poached egg was a little overpoached but still easy to eat over the croissant.

Great choice for breakfast in the park. Just be warned if you have a large party. It takes them awhile to accommodate.

My wife and I frequent this joint often. It's definitely one of the best places to eat in Disneyland, with food that is tremendous! In 2008, the "Year of a Million Dreams," we won a dream that included an all-you-can-eat dessert bar at the Carnation Cafe and it was tremendous! The Disney characters came out to take pictures with us and we had cheesecakes, carat cake, chocolate cake, and just about everything else you could imagine, not to mention MILK (woo-hoo!), soda, tea - whatever they served, it was available and amazing!

If you're not that hungry or you're on a budget, I would recommend getting a complete dish and splitting it with someone. The portions are enough for two people to share and no one wants to spend $40 between two people to eat at Disneyland when you need to save some cash for the churro's!

Tip: Carnation Cafe accepts Disneyland passholder discounts!

This hasn't been the first time I've come here for breakfast but it was the first time I made reservation which they seat you right away at your required reserved time. I think this is great way to start your long awaited day at Disneyland, especially when it comes to a breakfast menu. The menu is small and limited but  what is on the menu is delicious, and FYI  Lunch starts at 11:30am. It was a great way to start the celebration of events for my sister's 40th Birthday.

So glad we made reservations ahead of time because the place was packed.  Our reservation was for 9am (earliest time) and we were seated promptly.  However, service was a little slow.  It took our server a while to take our order, to refill our water and to get our check.  You'd figure that with all the time they took to get our food to our table, it'd be hot right?  Nope...I guess our server took his time to get our food to us as well. *sigh*

Despite the lukewarm temperature, I still enjoyed my breakfast.  I ordered the croissant benedict and it was as good as everyone said.  The Oscar's Choice was pretty decent as well.  Eggs were scrambled nicely and the sausage was good.  Overall, pretty good meal.  I just wish they'd speed up their service (I overheard a few other tables complaining as well).

I have passed this place dozens of times and each time it catches my eye. I never ate here cause I usually like to eat a quick breakfast and start my day.

This last Disneyland visit was an odd one. my wife and I were in a "relaxing" mood. Did not care what we did and walked by this place again. We looked at each other and had the same Idea. We made reservations for breakfast the next day. And are we glad we did!

The food was GREAT! I ate the eggs benedict and they were delicious. My wife ate a breakfast sandwich on a croissant. Very Good.

I think we have found our new breakfast place at Disneyland!!

It has become quite a tradition of mine to dine here frequently. I suggest calling the Disney Dining line to make a reservation.

I love the Minnie and Friends breakfast because not only is it awesome to have pancakes and Pooh at the same time, but you don't have to stress about catching characters the rest of the day! I always see tons of my favorites every time I go!

I love the breakfast buffet because for 25 bucks I can stuff my face full of delicious pastries, Mickey waffles (which are to die for), homemade omelets, cold cereal, hot coffees, milk, and fresh fruit. The food is always quite good!

Yes I will wait 30 minutes for those delicious Mickey Mouse waffles and Cafe Scramble.  I don't know what it is about this place but every.single.time
I am at Disneyland I have to make my stop here.

The basic breakfast (Scrambled eggs, crossiant, sausage (or bacon),  and potatoes) is always a good choice at this cafe.

I usually order the crispy, sweet and delicious Mickey Mouse shaped waffles and  share  them with my husband.  Make a stop here fellow Disneyland lovers!  It will fuel you for the rest of the day and have you dreaming of Mickey Mouse shaped waffles at night.  Yummmmmmmmmmmm.....

As an AP, I've passed the Carnation Cafe tons of times and seen the enormous line of people waiting to be seated during breakfast. After seeing that visit after visit, it peaks your interest.

We decided to make reservations for a weekday morning via the Disneyland Reservation Line. We arrived during the first hour the park was opened, and there was absolutely no line for seating -- which was great, since our reservations had apparently disappeared. Breakfast was yummy, and the service was top-notch.

We were able to see Chef Oscar walking around and introducing himself to most of the tables. The only reason Carnation Cafe didn't get a full 5 stars was because Chef Oscar didn't come to our table! Sure, that might be a petty reason, but dammit, I felt left out. He seemed to visit every other table there, except ours.

Chef Oscar, you better watch your back. I'm coming for you -- and your fantastically delightful breakfast!

the carnation cafe is as classic as you can get in disneyland. make sure to come for breakfast and be sure to stay for lunch.

sure it's a busy place but your going to find lines everywhere you go. it's not as bad as you would think and it's faster than most of the lines for rides. unlike other meals i have had you can tell it's made to order and isn't sitting around in chaffing dishes. they have many great items on the menu most you can find at other places in the park so try something new. you can't go wrong with my faves....

croissantwich -  croissant filled with scrambled egg, cheddar cheese and honey ham. served with fresh fruit. $8.49

cinnamon roll french toast - a soft, gooey, cinnamon roll coated in savory egg batter, then lightly grilled to perfection! topped with cream cheese icing, powdered sugar and fresh mint. with whipped butter and maple syrup, plus a choice of smoked bacon or sausage links. $8.99. be sure to add the apple or strawberry topping as well.

croissant benedict - hollandaise sauce atop poached eggs and honey ham on an open-faced croissant. served with potatoes. $9.49

seasonal pot pie- turkey, chicken, steak and more. be sure to ask what's on tap for the day. served with sauteed vegetables or fresh fruit. $9.99

main street meatloaf stack- meatloaf on a bed of mashed potatoes, nestled atop sourdough bread, then crowned with caramelized onion and mushroom gravy. served with sauteed vegetables. $10.69

cafe steak melt - grilled beef slices, melted pepper-Jack cheese and caramelized onion on grilled sourdough. with potato salad, green salad or fresh fruit. $10.29

Ok my friend isabelle and I came to the park early to get my annual pass and decided to get breakfast. we stopped by the Carnation cafe, which I've always noticed but never eaten at and it looked like there was no wait so we thought we'd try. We got sat immediately and the breakfast menu looked delicious compared to other options at the resort... we both bought the croissant eggs benedict... and they came out very quickly... and the eggs were perfect. the hollandaise sauce is great and rich... I mean this whole thing was rich and flavorful. It was the best way to start our day. The eggs came with breakfast poatoes and a strawberry and slice of orange for garnish... both of which were sweet and juicy... I had a coffee I had earlier from a coffee place across the street and the waitress offered to refill it, so I thought that was very kind of her. The check came out to only $20.65 that was the most filling and cheapest meal I've had in the park ever... especially for a table service restaurant... Next time I really want to try the french toast... I'll definately be back...

The Mickey Mouse waffle is worth it! I had ordered the special Mickey waffle which came with fruits and sausages. The sausages were very good also. The waffle was fluffy and tasted like it was freshly made and not some pre made frozen cake. My friend had ordered the Oscar special which came with scrambled eggs, bacon, a croissant, and their special potatoes. My friend's breakfast was definitely indeed an Oscar winner and I was eating his potatoes and eggs. We were lucky enough to find the Carnation Cafe because I was searching all over the park for the special Mickey Mouse waffle. I am glad I did and note, their is no breakfast being served at Cafe Orleans. No Mickey Mouse waffles there =(

Had all the makings of a great meal.  Shared pot roast and a ceasar salad with the husband.  I was famished and everything looked great, except the gravy for the mashed potatoes.  It looked like the same gravy as the French Market in New Orleans Square and that stuff was N-A-S-T-Y.  So I skipped it.

The first bite of most of the meal was really good, but by the 3rd bite the salt began to take over.  WAYYYYY too salty.  The pot roast gravy was like liquid salt with some brown coloring thrown in for good measure.

There were some positives- may daughter spilled almost all of her milk & they gave us another one "free."  The fountain regular coke was quite good.  Extra syrup, I think.  The chairs were comfortable.  The dining room roomier than others around the park.  Close proximity to a bathroom.

I can't complain!  We came right in and got a table on a Friday morning.  We were able to use Disney dining vouchers to pay the full amount of our breakfast for three.  Even though we are adults, my boyfriend and I were permitted to order from the kids' breakfast menu, though the kid's drink was not included.  I got Mickey waffles, and he got the breakfast with eggs and potatoes.  My mom ordered the grown-up Mickey waffles.  We were all delighted with our food and the service!  You can't go wrong here.  Get here early to avoid a wait for breakfast!

Who knew you needed a reservation for breakfast at this place. I got there right when the park opened and yet I needed a reservation. THat was crazy. You would think that they would save a few spots for those who don't have reservations. I forgot how popular character breakfasts were. I had my very first mickey mouse pancakes here as a child with my mom and my two cousins. I loved it. It was so special and so much fun. I wish I had pictures from way back when, with the blueberries too. I loved it. This time around, I had to have the same. But, I got a waffle. It was so tasty. The syrup was warm and the butter was rich. I loved it. I know that they have all kinds of more "grown-up" food but I'm not there to be a grown up. I'm there to be a kid and to enjoy myself.

Zac and I wanted to explore Disneyland to its fullest, as it was our first visit together.  We did not want to waste any of our precious time at the local IHOP or Denny's because of the abundance of people standing in front, so instead we drove straight to the park with empty tummies.  While standing in line for tickets, we agreed to have nothing, but breakfast food.

After a few quick shots in front of Disney's infamous Main Street Railroad Station, we found Carnation Cafe on Main Street.  We were instantly greeted by the staff and was led to our table by Oscar, head chef.  He chatted with us for a while before our waiter, Bob, took over.

For $8.95, we each ordered our own Oscar's Breakfast Special.  It came with scrambled eggs (the fluffiest ever), thinly sliced/scalloped potatoes with melted cheese on top, croissant  and fresh fruit.  All with a choice of either bacon or sausages.  We sampled both and was in awe at how non-greasy and delicious the food was for the price.  However, our breakfast experience was capped off when Oscar returned to wish us a good time in the park...A mighty good start to our day!

This is an absolute MUST every time we go to the park. I am dead serious when I say our day cannot officially begin until I've had my Croissant Benedict and non-fat mocha from Carnation Cafe. Food is priced decent, it really is comparable to eating at IHOP or Denny's across from the park. The servers are really great, considering the amount  of people they pack into the small space. I swear to God their Mocha is laced with crack, it is soooo delish!

Oscar is the Chef that has been cooking there for years, and he comes out from time to time to check on the guests and make sure they're enjoying their experience. Also, if you go as often as we do to Disneyland you'll see that the wait staff there is pretty much the same every time. I so see a Disney trip in my immediate future....

The waffles aren't as great as the ones at the Cafe Orleans, but they did have a larger selection for breakfast than at the Cafe Orleans.  I love how the restaurant is on Main Street so you're able to enjoy all the scenery while dining.

One thing that I did like about this place is they had coloring pages for my daughter...

My family and I ate here during our last visit to the Magic Kingdom.

Don't forget to call and make a reservation for breakfast if you plan on eating here, otherwise the wait is a good 20-30 minutes. We normally eat at Cafe Orleans for breakfast whenever we visit, but we decided to try this place out the night before.

After we put in our names we were seated by the hostess, our very polite server was with us in no time. I looked over the list and had a hard time debating whether or not I wanted to get the Croissant Sandwich or the Croissan Benedict. I came to the decision that I wanted my runny yolk so I went w/ the benedict. It was ALMOST as good as the Eggs Benedict from Cafe Orleans.

My daughter got the Mickey Waffle, which was huge compared to the other ones that she got, but it was just as good. We spent a good 30-40 minutes here, taking our time and enjoying our food.

If you plan on eating here, don't forget to call for a reservation, it's not usually booked up like the Blue Bayou but it is nice to come prepared.

Out of all the places to eat in Disneyland I have made Carnation Cafe part of my routine while visiting the park.  Being able to eat a great breakfast right on Main Street USA is the best way to get your morning started at the Happiest Place on Earth.  The eggs Benedict are delicious here and are my favorite though both the waffles, shaped like Mickey Mouse himself, and Oscar's scramble are also both very good.

At certain times of the day the restaurant isn't so busy and it's the best time to sneak in for an early dinner.  Being able to sit down to enjoy dinner is much better than having the crowd in lines at many of the other buffeteria style restaurants throughout the park.

*UPDATE* Laura L. and I chose to eat the hot apple pie slice dripped with caramel & whipped cream, and cold vanilla ice cream on the side & strawberry topped dessert. An excellent choice for a really good ending of a great meal. I love that the chicken pot pie used real chicken strips as opposed to chicen cubes (I didn't know the world had square chickens!).

OMG!! I have found the mecca of all ice cream sundaes! CC has the biggest one I've ever seen...it's called the Matterhorn Sundae...4 scoops of ice cream, fudgy chocolate goodness in the middle, a fist size of whipped cream, nuts and a cherry on top. I believe it measured nearly 8 inches in height from the base of the glass. WOW!

My friends and I have finally tried this place for lunch. I was hoping for my inverted pot pie, but they offered regular chicken pot pie (side of sauteed veggies), and seasonal pot pie which is Beef Stroganoff. Both are excellent and really good for those mid morning overcast days when you need a bit of warmth. They had really nicely portioned pieces of chicken/beef inside the pie...great ratio of vegetables to meat.

The Meatloaf Stack - Tender Meatloaf over a bed of mashed potatoes, on sourdough bread topped with caramelized onion and mushroom gravy. Served with sauteed vegetables. The waiter said it was the most popular dish...and I can see why. It's really moist and savory.

Service here is excellent. We had a really nice guy who was very attentive. The chef came out twice to ask us how the food was and if we were enjoying ourselves (a first for me in Dland). They offer a coloring activity for kids to keep them from going nuts which is always a plus.

We have to come back to try the breakfast. I really enjoyed the meal here and would recommend this place to any dland freak.

Cute and kid-friendly little outdoor table service eatery on Main Street in Disneyland. This restaurant had it's own printed gluten-free menu, so right away it is on my good side.

I had a tuna "sandwich" which was really swapping out the croissant for lettuce, but it was delicious anyhow. I suppose I could have hand-held it but it was easier to use the knife and fork. My wife got the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and smothered with lots of gravy, which looked incredible and she said it was delicious.

A couple of the characters came by on the street and waved to the kids - Eeyore, and what looked like a raccoon. Really fun little shop.

Would have given it five stars, but they were out of everything on the drink menu that I wanted: Lemonade, Raspberry Iced Tea, and Root Beer - went right on down the list and the very embarrassed waitress shot each one down as I spoke 'em. I then suggested a margarita, which she laughed at (no alchohol in the Happiest Place on Earth(tm) - go figure...) and eventually settled for a Coke(tm).

Weather was perfect for eating outdoors, considering it is January 31st. Last time I was in SoCal around this time of year, the rain was non-stop. Today was mid-60s and sunny.

Anyhow, great little celiac-friendly lunch spot. Highly recommended.

The cafe is situated next to the coffee bar and clock shop on main street, USA in Disneyland.  It is a nice outdoor place to have a full serivce meal.  I enjoy it most for breakfast.  The menu is limited but covers all the main elements for a main meal.  Try Oscar's Favorite.  It is named after Chef Oscar. A park employee for over 52 years.  He is a often seen walking around and chatting with the guests.  The servers will even find him for you to say hi.  The breakfast is good, the coffee keeps coming and the opportunity to speak with Disney history is priceless.  Go and have a great time watching the tourists walking down mainstreet.

I went here one morning on a whim because I had heard about the Eggs Benedict Croissant.  We had no wait and I LOVED my croissant.  Considering this IS Disneyland, I was expecting the prices to be out of this world, but it wasn't that bad.  My son & I ate and got the best hot chocolate EVER for $19.  The croissant was YUM and my son got the kids Mickey waffle, so good.

They didn't have our reservation, even though I called and made 2 reservations during the same call (they had the other one).  But the girl was kind enough to take us in anyway, she was so sweet.  We had a standard breakfast with eggs, sausage and a croissant - overly greasy though.  In our opinion it was overpriced for what you get.  Really, I would have enjoyed going to Mimi's cafe across the street more - and it would have been cheaper and you didn't have as big of a line of people staring at you waiting for you to finish your food.  Nice though was the service, they didn't rush you out the door or and into the park to seat the next person.

Stefanie W. and I went here on our recent Disneyland trip in February. We were starving, it was in front of us, it smelled good, so we decided to stop even though there was a long line. Luckily the line moved pretty quickly. Overall this was a perfectly acceptable dining option for lunch. I like that it is a full service restaurant but the seating is outdoors. I had half a veggie medley sandwich and the awesome loaded baked potato soup. A little expensive at almost $10, but hey this is Disney, what did I expect? Everything was good and left me energized so I could walk a few more dozen miles around the park.

imagine a golden-brown waffle, lightly dusted in powdered sugar, accompanied by an orange slice and a juicy strawberry, sausage links or crispy bacon strips and maybe a glass of orange juice or a cup of coffee, all served by one of the happiest waiters youll ever meet.
not too bad right?
now picture that same breakfast, but imagine the waffle shaped like Mickey Mouse.
did you smile? i did, and you probably will too =) cant think of a better way to start any morning!
happy breakfast!

Much healthier than a lot of the options around the park, Carnation serves a small variety of sandwiches, salads and soups (and by small variety, I mean that you have maybe 2-3 options in each category). I liked their loaded baked potato soup, but I wished their portions were a little larger. Of course, everything was served with a Disney-smile, so how could I be left unsatisfied?

Finally, a place at Disneyland that I would actually go back to over and over again (well other than the Blue Bayou of course).  The food is much better than all the other counter places and for the same price (with the exception that service was slow).  It's a nice little outdoor cafe with pot pies, hot and cold sandwiches, soups, salads, and desserts!  I had the beef pot pie and bf had the open face meatloaf sandwich.  Both were very yummy.  We'll definitely go back there again.
