Carmela's Mexican Restaurant

We love their fajitas as well as their chicken enchiladas w queso.
They have been a favorite for us for more than a decade.

Horrible customer service from cashier.
If you come here on a lunch break don't expect to make it back on time, and not because of the wait or customers, it's because they don't know how to charge your bill. They charged me the wrong check, made me wait 20 mins and wouldn't explain what happened. Until the person who's ticket I paid for came back they charged me. Ridiculous

Our family LOVES Carmela's - best queso and hot sauce in SE tex! Good food for a decent price as well. Service is typically good as well.

Did not like the food. They tried to cover up our food with some kind of cheese sauce that was no good on food that was dried out. Sorry but we will not be back!

I can't believe I waited so long to try this place. The atmosphere is perfect, the food was great and the customer service was spot on. I will definitely be back.

The chicken fajitas, salsa and chips are the best around. The chicken is plump, tender and juicy! And the salsa is tasty and just perfect! The chips are fresh and crisp and also made to perfection! Yum!

Stopped in for lunch. Seated immediately by a cheerful hostess. Was waited on immediately and placed our drink orders. Then ordered the Carmela's May Bueno Lunch Special. It came out quickly, was hot and delicious. Everything was great. I'll be back.

The service at this restaurant was horrible! Not to mention that I could see all of the staff in the back with their face masks pulled down to their chins. We got there at 10:00am and ordered the migas which are simple scrambled eggs with tortillas, well 30 minutes later we still had no food and the waitress hadn't even came to check on us. There was also people waiting to get their to go orders who had been waiting for over 15 minutes. I got up to get the attention of the staff and to tell her that I was dissatisfied with their service and her reply was "well sir you have to understand we are short staffed." There was only one other couple in the restaurant and there was at least 6 staff that I saw... one was even sitting on a chair fanning her face with her face mask. I will NEVER come here again!

We used to love ordering from Carmela's but the phone service has been terrible lately! Tonight I called 6 times over 15 minutes and kept getting a busy signal then finally got an answer but all slept said was hold please, and didn't even let me speak! I'm still on hold 14 minutes and 32 seconds later ...just waiting to speak with the owner now. We already called in our family's dinner at Tony's (great fajitas there!) and my husband already left to go pick it up. This is unacceptable business behavior and it has happened several times but they usually say "our phone system has been acting up" no...your lazy employees are putting someone on hold to tie up the phone so they don't have to deal with to go orders. What a shame
