We had reservations for a week last month.  Prior to our arrival into Carlsbad, I called the hotel to ensure a room with a balcony.

We checked in rather late and guess what..... no balconies.  I cussed everyone out and body slammed every person I walked by in the lobby and hallways.  Just kidding.  Wanted to though.

The next morning, my husband, the sweet man that he is, asked if there were any balconies.  While I was enjoying the grounds in the courtyard of the Courtyard.... he moved all of our stuff into our new room with a balcony....  I guess he really wanted some that night.... wink wink.

The girls at the desk were so helpful with area plans and directions.  Our stay was so wonderful that I almost had forgotten about the whole balcony ordeal.

I have to add that due to the previous yelp regarding the bedding,  we brought an extra blanket.   It is true, the lack of bedding is evident.    But there was an extra blanket in the credenza.... ewww.... you do know that hotels do not regularly wash those, right?

The pool is heated and the parking can get a bit cramped at night.   Here's my tip:  park behind the pool if you have a room overlooking the pool.

Reasonably priced... very close to the Carlsbad Premium Outlets.

This place gets the job done. It was clean and the bed comfortable. Free internet! That is how I was able to keeping yelp while on vacation. Hotel is a little out of the way from everything. Close to Legoland if you are into that sort of thing.

It is quiet. Small vanity and mirror, I must say. All in all nice hotel. Oh wait, except for the fire alarm going off at 7:30 AM and no one answering my calls to make sure the hotel was not going to burn down, so I finally had to decide what to save and then they answered and were rude about it.

Was 4 stars now 3 stars. Yikes, how could I forget about that!

Marriott Courtyard Carlsbad is a simple, no-frills and squeaky clean hotel.  It's a great place if you need a place to stay and don't want to break the bank.  It's super close to the Carlsbad outlets too!

There's not much around the Marriott Courtyard.  Just a bunch of office buildings.  It's quiet and peaceful around the place.

The rooms were pretty nice.  Two queen beds in my room, and the pillows were down and really soft.  My only complaint is the lack of adequate bedding on the bed.  I was freezing with just 2 sheets on the bed.  There was NO comforter!  WTH!!  Is this standard?

Other than that, the place was nice.  Free USA todays.  The food was excellent.  Oh yeah!  Check out the breakfast buffet!  It reminds me of good college food.

Juices:  Apple, Orange, Pineapple, Grapefruit
Bagels, Wheat, White breads
Fruits!: sweet strawberries, bananas, pineapple, melons
Omelettes:  Make your own!  But no egg white omelettes!  Darn.
Sausage
Scrambled Eggs

Overall all, a good place to stay for the budget-minded, no-frills traveler.

Stayed here for a mini retreat.  Quaint little place.  They gave me a room for the disabled.  All that means is the room is bigger and wider to accomodate wheelchairs, etc. and they have a different shower setup than the regular rooms.  Wireless and the Internet are free.  Big plus on my list.

Has a pool and spa, but I didn't use it and it's too cold in the winter anyway.  Large lobby / bar / meeting area and a fireplace.

It's reasonably priced.

The breakfast buffet is really good.  They have a omelet bar, but no egg white option.  It ain't the Ritz, but it's a place to lie your head down on.

Pretty much your typical Marriott. NIce pool and hot tub, didn't see too many people out there. Stopped for a drink in the hotel bar. Comfy chairs and nice TV's... too bad they couldn't get the White Sox game on there. Reasonably priced rooms, with big bed and sofa bed if you need it. No problems being on the first floor. Everyone seemed pretty quiet. Staff was all very friendly too.
