2 reviews for Carl's Jr Restaurant
We were somewhere around Bakersfield, on the edge of the universe, when the six dollar burger began to take hold... I remember saying something like: I feel a bit lightheaded. Maybe you should drive..." I found this place between a $29 dollar a night motel 6 and a place named Lita's pupuseria. And right on queue while I type this from my car I start to see the bats. And "women of leisure" begin to congregate around my car. This explains the motel 6, so what's a pupuseria?
Around late afternoon, I'm pulling a Forrest Gump (I gotta go pee) and decided to stop at the first place I passed by that didn't look like I would have been robbed/raped/shot/carjacked by a meth addict, Carl's Jr. (Note to self: This is where all the rednecks have gone, Bakersfield...) I will give them this though, this is the best burger I have had in a long time. I mean this thing was so fresh I seriously contemplated pressing on the fcuker with my hand just to see if it would Mooo.
The only way this would have been fresher was if I had dropped my $8 on the counter, walked outside to the pasture to pick the cow, cut off the part I wanted and rode the rest of it back into the restaurant before grilling that baby up myself. I guess when the cow's are right outside your restaurant you are as close to the source you are going to get. I almost contemplated sleeping at the Motel 6 as that was a good Angus high I was riding, then I came to my senses. Bravo Carl, bravo.
This Carl's is a staple whenever we drive down to Anaheim. The burgers are always juicy and served promptly. You're also near the turnoff for Bakersfield, as well as conveniently near the 5, so you can jump back on as soon as you're done eating.
