6 reviews for Carlos Bee Park
Today I decided I needed to get away for lunch so I Yelped parks that were nearby and found Carlos Bees and being it was only about 10 minutes from where I was working, I decided to eat a lunch here sitting under the trees.
I sat over by the creek that runs through the park under a big Oak tree and enjoyed lunch. There were ducks in the creek and lots of birds (even woodpeckers) all sharing the sounds of nature. Really, it was almost like going out camping (less the "pup tent".
During the time I was there, I saw a handful of people bring their dogs to wander around the woody area.
The park was clean and appeared well maintained. The entrance is quite easy to miss so you have to be looking for it. There is about a 100 yard walk from the parking area to the grassy park area. There is lots of woody area around the park and the grass in the park was nicely cut and green. There was playground equipment for the younger kids.
As I walked back to my car to leave, I sat by the car for a few moments before getting in and noticed that about 20 feet away there was "a Doe, a Deer, a Female Deer, Ray, a Drop of Golden Sun, Me, a Name I Call Myself, Far, a Long Long Way to Run...." WAIT!!!! All I was trying to say is it was cool sitting and watching this Doe eat leaves off the trees so close to where I was standing and watching...then next thing I know I am off in song... "Doe, A Deer, a Female Deer..." What the heck was that all about? Wow, it must have been a good day!
If you looking for close East Bay (located in Castro Valley) get away from the rat race I recommend you check out this park.
Take 238 East toward Hayward. At the light at Grove Way turn Left up the hill. Go about 6/10 of a mile and turn right into the small entrance into the parking lot.
This is a nice get away that is only 10 minutes from home. I'll be back
YELP COMES THROUGH YET AGAIN!!!

Scary man, mean guy and druggies, oh my! ..getting faster still!...
I came here on my lunch break to see what this place was like based on the reviews. As I turned off the ignition, I heard a snapping sound in the car next to me and looked over to see some woman untying rubber tubing around her man's arm.
To my right was a mean-looking dude in his truck, and next to him was an unkempt man wandering around yelling incoherently.
COURAGE? Hell no. I fled!

It must have been 6 or 7 years since we been here twice, walking our fierce min pin and daschund. I don't know the conditon of the park now but it was a decent place to walk our dogs back then. The park is small and hidden. I belive there is also a man made lake in the park where you can swim and play in the sand. I must admit that Castro Valley and Hayward area has changed for the worst for the past few years. So, I won't be surprised if there are thugs and druggies hanging out in this park.

After a long day of looking at homes in the Hayward, and Castro Valley area. We wanted to rest before embarking on another journey to Dublin. We checked the area for the nearest park and get some R&R before we headed out.
We found Carlos Bee Park. You need to keep your eyes peeled or else you will miss this off the beaten path park. As soon as you enter you will see no more then 8-10 parking spots. We picked the one that had the most shade and reclined our seats for some needed rest.
Low and behold I spot an elderly man on his motorized wheel chair from the Scooter Store or Hovearound. With a small mutt on a leash and a 6 feet orange pennet flag bouncing in the wind as he rounded the last portion of the trail. He noticed us lounging in our car and quickly came charging at the passenger side window. He just gawked in the car and rolled his scooter to my side and gawked in. He again went back around to the passenger side and did it again. Then moved to the back of the trunk and just stared through the back window. This was the creepiest thing I have ever encountered. Several min passed and several times he did this back and fourth, and he finally left. Beside that lone experience this park looks to be very beautiful, its just the people who frequent these trails seem to be loony.
Never again will I set foot into Castro Valley. I don't care if this review is more about the creepy old man but he was in the Carlos Bee Park so it counts in my book.

Carlos Bee Park makes a good shortcut from City Center Dr. to Grove Way. Its kinda hidden but its cool.
My arms and back hurt. And I'm itchy. But I'm a happy camper. Except I didn't go camping.
I wanted to go outside yesterday and get some fresh air. I went over to my friend's house, we grabbed some fast food and headed to this park.
The entrance is shady and wooded and shields the park from a lot of street noise. There's a creek to your left and birds making happy bird noises...except for the fecking crows which sound awful. There were the requisite stoner kids hanging around, but they were mellow and respectful, so no big.
The entrance opens out into a field with a large picnic tabled gazebo, restroom facilities, a few large trees and a new playground.
We ate, while fighting off bees and mosquitos, and then clambered around on the monkey bars, slide and swings. We trekked a little way down the secluded trails, but it was getting dark and we had to go.
I had more fun getting exercise here than at any gym, ever. Plus, my inner child got to play.
