Like others have said, this is a chain Italian restaurant.  The food isn't half bad, but it won't knock your socks off either.  Lots of red sauces, very heavy food, but pretty tasty.  The lasagna is excellent.

One thing going for this place is they have a "Dinner for 2 for 19.99" special, where you can select from a limited set of entrees and get soup/salad, bread, two entrees, and two mini desserts.  I really liked this because the portions for the food were a bit more appropriate than usual restaurant fare, and the mini desserts were just the right amount of dessert to finish a meal.

The service is quite slow, but the waitstaff is friendly and pleasant.

I have one critical piece of advice, though: GET A BOOTH.  It doesn't matter if you normally don't mind sitting in the dining room at a table with chairs, you will want a booth here.  The chairs are, quite possibly, the most uncomfortable wooden chairs in which I have sat at a restaurant.  It was incredibly painful and irritating.  I would have waited 20 extra minutes for my table if I could have had a booth if I had known.

All in all, this is decent Italian in the middle of a decent shopping area and movie theater.  It's better than the Olive Garden, but it's not as good as some other Italian places in the area.  It's definitely a restaurant whose location works in its favor.

Chain italian food, heavy on the cream sauces and cheeses...
Decent wine selection though and if you're craving Italian before heading out for a night at the movies... Carinos will do.
I can't say I'd be returning anytime soon though...

If you've been to one chain Italian restaurant, you've been to them all, and this Carino's is not different. You get the same food here as you would any other chain Italian restaurant.

It's a chain again, but whoever designed those recipes needs to get a gold star.  I know how lame this is going to sound, but it's the best spaghetti and meatballs I've ever tasted.  Everything else is good too, but I am stuck on S&M.  And that bread!  With the crunchy garlic!
Service has historically been one of the worst around, but it seems better lately.
It's also one of very few places that my MIL and I can agree on.  She doesn't complain about the menu being too fancy or too podunk, and she gets enough food to get her moneys worth and keep her ass fat.

Very similar to other italian chains but as pointed out, more of a "red-sauce" variety than say, Olive Garden.  They also have a selection of dished touted to be spicey, which i was excited about.  I had the Skillitini and while it was good, it wasn't very spicey.

I very much enjoyed that they have a $2 desert selection.  It's a trend I hope to see other restuarants following.

The service was ok but a little slow to my liking.

I had two problems:

1) All but one table in our particular room was organized into only 3/4 of the space.  There was about 6 feet of room between that table and the next closest while the rest of us were camped with barely any room for walking between tables.

2) This particular room was designed for the maximum concentration of noise and while that wouldn't have normally bothered me so much, the table next to us was full of loud people.

Ever hear Ricky Gervais laugh?  Imagine that laugh constantly.

Good food, decent service, lousy layout.

As Paulie Walnuts would say, It is what it is. It's a red-sauce Italian food chain, whaddya gonna do? If you are starving and you go in there, you will be fed and the food is not bad. It's just what you expect it to be. The fact is Carino's has more atmosphere than Olive Garden, in a chain-y sort of way. I feel a pang of guilt when I eat in here, twice a year or so, usually in the context of some kind of networking thing where I have no say in the venue. I imagine my Italian ancestors looking down at me and shaking their heads in dismay. And I'm 100% Irish.  But really, who is Carino's hurting? No one. No baby seals are clubbed here. If you love this place, hats off to you.
