My brother is vegan, so I get the opportunity to experience all different types of vegan cuisines on a regular basis, and Caribreeze definitely ranks up there with one of the top experiences ever.  I went in there not knowing what anything was, but the guy who was serving it up gave us tastes of everything and explained all the ingredients.  The callaloo was AWESOME, and I definitely did not think I would like it.  Try the savory pie/pocket things- they're to die for.

Not much to look at, but a friendly place with excellent Caribbean vegetarian menu that changes every day. The variety is incredible -- stews, pilafs, dumplings, stir-fries. I always get a little bit of everything in the large size dish and I usually go for one of the 'meat' pies ... stuffed with soy meat, veggies, tofu, etc. You can choose a small, medium or large dish and choose whichever of the available dishes that appeal to you. I recommend the large size!

Also, the people who run Caribreeze are lovely. Try it.

The no-frills, bare-bones atmosphere (there's a video rental store in the restaurant) makes you totally unprepared for the excellent vegan food at Caribreeze. Pleasant staff makes you feel welcome, and the prices are great for the quality and quantity of food.

Jamaican style dishes are offered along with a variety of other fake meat and vegetable dishes. The menu changes daily, but you get a choice of about a dozen different items. All of them are fresh and delicious.

Order as many or as few items as you like, because you're charged by volume, not by selection. Choose a container size, tell them what you want in it, and a few minutes later you're looking at a bowl, a pail or a bucket of some seriously tasty stuff.

Nothing is ordinary here. There's an unusual selection of beverages, snacks and homemade desserts. People drift in from the street and try to give you literature or ask for donations to charity, and in the middle of it all, customers are browsing or renting videos.

Parking can be a problem, and street life around the restaurant can be sketchy. Yet the food is so good, it's worth it.If you're looking for good vegetarian / vegan food in Rockland County, you have to check out this place.

Definitely best vegan food I've had so far. Taste, price, value = all excellent! Yes, it's a bit of an odd combination of stores (take-out and videos) but the quality of the cooking make me sad I won't be able to go more often. Light, well-flavored, and absolutely delicious!!

Okay, the carrot-pineapple muffins maybe not so light - rather rich. Just share one, you won't be sorry.

The menu was nicely balanced between 'meat' items vs vegetable items which made a good variety on the smallish menu. Curried goat, BBQ chicken, Spicy jerk chunks (YES SPICY! WOO!!) all made with soy. I'm not a huge fan of mock meats but they did a good job with the ingredients here ... so, "Yea I'm a fan!"

My only knock from 5 stars was location and parking (since its a mostly a take-away place). But seriously. Fantastic food and worth the trek in from hwy 87/287.

Such a strange place! In the middle of a random town full of Caribbeans. This place is part cafeteria, part restaurant, and part video store. Menu changes daily and the food is quite good and cheap. The prices are based on size, not what you get. You chose the size container you want, and whatever fits inside it, is what you get. The lady behind the counter was very nice.
