Just a quick shout out for my office Caribou Coffee. The staff could not be more friendly; In fact they know a lot of the regular's orders and greet people by name.
During the sultry summer months, I recommend the cold pressed coffee. It retains its delish full coffee flavor because it is not poured hot over ice, which tends to make most iced coffees watered down. Also a great deal at just over a few bucks for a medium or large coffee.

Caribou is nice option if you don't want to give into the Starbuck's evil empire, although I am sure someone is going to say that Caribou is just as bad in terms of coffee prices and how much people waste (monetarily speaking) on caffeine. At any rate, I enjoy my iced coffee from Caribou. The light roast has a much nicer taste, yet still seems to make me as buzzed as Starbucks. For those new to Caribou- you can choose the roast you want, i.e. light, dark, etc. Everything is clean and organized and the line moves faster than other coffee places.
This location is a little loud- I think the workers are experiencing caffeine for the first time in their lives (a la Will Ferrell in 'Screaming and Kicking'), but it gives me a nice jolt in the morning. I don't like the air vent that blows down on the doorway, but what can I do? I doubt the will turn it off upon my request since its a large building and it has to be a vent for some important purpose.

I frequent this Caribou afternoons for iced or hot decaf coffee. Both are probably better than the other local options (Starbucks, Corner Bakery). But, I must admit that I mostly come here to hang out on the riverwalk, smoke cigarettes, and drink coffee with my previous co-workers.
There is a big outdoor area with tables and chairs that probably seats 30-40 people. There is always nice foot traffic in that area which inspires good conversation.
So, I don't necessarily give Caribou 4 stars, but the 222 S Riverside Outdoor Seating area.
