I walked passed Caribou Coffee as I was looking at it - wondering what kind of place 'Caribou' is (there is no Caribou back in Northern Cal). When I realized it was a coffee shop, I decided to give it a try. I just remembered my Peet's coffee was running real low at home.
So I was standing there in front of their whole coffee beans rack - all confused (the mixed up feelings that I got from an interview earlier did not help), then one of the barrista approached me and helped me to pick one. I even got a chance to taste their today's brew coffee (complete with cream! :P)
Anyway - Caribou coffee turns out to be good - much better than Starbucks (yet I still love Peet's!). This particular shop has great and friendly barristas - and my new office will be just around the corner from it. So there - (almost) perfect! :) (will be so perfect if there was a Peet's! :P)
Dear C.C.,
I don't know what the "secret" ingredient you put in your mochas, but it is kicking my ass. Seriously? Seriously. I feel 10 times jittery and am more wide awake than I started out this morning. I just wanted to say thank you because I have, er HAD, a total case of the Mondays. Also, thank you for being located here amongst the 3+ Starbucks located near where I work. I would try the pastries because they look tasty, but I have to break my habit (at least once in awhile) of these goodies.
Now if I can only answer your trivia question you post on the board, I could get 10 cents (I think that's what I recall) off my purchases.
Gracias.

Edit: My initial review stated 10% when it should've said 10 cents. It's been corrected. ;-)

I go to this Caribou once or twice a week on my way to work. The coffee is good, the staff is friendly and the line in the morning is short- this makes Caribou a great morning stop!
Although I try my darndest to resist paying 2 bucks daily for gourmet coffee, I usually lose the battle and stop here on my way to work.
This is one of those places where I'm 'a regular.' I see the same super-friendly employees there every day and if I had an outgoing, extroverted personality, we'd all totally be on a first name basis. But I don't and so we're not. But in my imaginary, extrovert-me world, we have too many inside jokes to count and they sneak me a free coffee every now and then.
If you're going to get corporate coffee anyways, get it from this Caribou.
(answer the daily trivia question correctly and get 10 cents off!)

These are all over the place and they are yummy! They have a more comfortable feel on the inside than other coffee shops which makes it a nice experience.
Great staff, good coffee (granted, I'm not picky), and shorter lines than Starbucks. I'm in

It's almost like they try harder here (I guess having the big man in town, Starbucks, breathing down your neck helps to motivate you). The counter people are very nice and the drinks are great. I also like their specialty teas, and the fact that their coffee is not as strong or bitter tasting as some other coffee houses. It's very tiny though, only a few tables.
Although it's small the fireplace adds a nice touch. Good coffee and tea and yummy treats.
