My friends and I were on assignment and found this place to eat on Yelp. Didn't actually read the reviews, but still decided to go.

      GREAT DECISION.

I've never had Haitian food before so I was optimistic. The menu wasn't enormous, but it was enough and very simple (which I liked). I decided to go out on a limb and get the oxtail (it was only $10!!!!!!!!). Great, great prices. It came with red beans and rice and it let me tell you, it was all awesome and worth the price. Also had the mango shake ($3 and worth it, pretty sure it's made from fresh mango).

My friends tried the curry chicken and fried pork (came with red beans and rice) and mango shake. They said it was delicious and ate everything up!

TRY IT. This is such a great little hole-in-the-wall restaurant and the guy who helped us out was super nice!

Most people have no idea how excellent Hatian food is. In life, as well as in food, it is always better to stand out and NOT be like most people.

The fried pork is incredible. The best I have ever had. I will be asking them to cater parties for me going forward. The rice and peas were also a cut above. This place is a foodies treasure!

We ordered oxtail and goat curry with rice&beans, mac&cheese, plantains and freshly baked corn bread. Everything was delicious.
The mango shake is too sugary.
Service is slow and disorganized. But server is nice.
      Good value for money.

Tried to like it. Can't recommend. The food smelled and I think we became sick because of eating it. The mango shake is NOT fresh. It was pulp puréed with ice. The goat curry was over cooked. The proprietor was lovely but the food was terrible.

While I have only had Hatian food in the US -- namely several spots in DC -- I did grow up eating Jamaican and know what fresh curried goat, jerk chicken and peas and rice should take like. We did not find it here, which is a shame.

I just had the jerk chicken and red beans and rice, salad and corn bread. And all I can say is that it was delicious. I'm in Hagerstown for business but if I lived here I would definitely go back. If you like Caribbean food then you will love this place. So glad I gave it a try based on previous Yelp reviews.

We are so glad we finally tried the Caribbean Restaurant! I was much more than we expected. Besides the generous portions and authentic food, the dinning room is bright, clean and pleasant. Highly recommend this gem.

Wonderful dinner, red snapper and curry chicken. So glad we final made it in to try their food. Very clean, bright and pleasant.

Don't judge the place by the cover. Great authentic food, nice gentlemen to prepare food. Jerk chicken is excellent and spicy. Red beans and rice are good, but have him put some jerk sauce on it for an extra kick. Chicken curry is good as well although not spicy.

A hole in the wall. Didn't expect much from the place going in. However, the owner is super nice and the food is pretty good. Their salad was a few slices of tomatoes, cucumbers, and lettuce with a bottle of ranch dressing. Ordered a sweet tea, which was super duper sweet. The owner brought a lemonade to mix it together, which was a nice gesture. The oxtail and the rice was pretty good. As everyone else stated, for the price, you can't beat it.

I have been aching to get here and try this authentic Haitian cuisine. You enter through the side door, and I actually love the layout of this restaurant. It is very hole in the wall, but they've maximized the space wonderfully. I ordered the jerk chicken with red beans and rice and a piece of cornbread. Unfortunately, they were out of collard greens and baked Mac n cheese, but am I glad they were in this case. The prices are so low for these meals, I had a great Portioned meal for less than $10. I couldn't even finish it all. The jerk chicken is so tender and so flavorful, and so spicy. It was fantastic. The red beans and rice was flavorful as well and it's the best red beans and rice I've ever had. The jerk sauce found itself to the rice and beans which amplified the flavor tenfold. The cornbread was great too, a wonderful sweetness with little corn kernels throughout. I was so pleasantly surprised and I will be back for the chicken curry.

Jerk chicken, red beans & rice, and a side salad.

Hole in the wall place, but great food. Jerk chicken was more bones than actual chicken, but excellent flavor. Rice and red beans were delicious. Entree never came with cornbread for some reason. The owner was enjoying some WWE on the TV as we finished our meal. If you can overlook some oddities of this local joint it is worth checking out.
