Just ate here for their lunch buffet and I will be going back.  Showed up at 11:40, no waiting, the buffet was all set up and ready.  The jerk chicken tasted just like I remember when I lived in MoBay.

The Johnny Cakes were great although my friend only ate half of hers.  I had 3 altogether.  The rice and beans, corn soufle (sp?) and fried fish were also deserving of seconds, which I went back and had.

The food service area was clean, the food was hot and tasty, and there was plenty of everything including a salad bar.

Service was extremely attentive and courteous without being overbearing.  The waiter had a ready smile and pleasant demeanor leaving no room at all for criticism.  He answered my questions about other menu items with knowledgeable authority and I observed he was quickly filling our and other tables' drink orders, bussing tables of used plates and checking to see if anything was needed with great efficiency.  He was a one-man show handling the whole restaurant at lunch but he was so focused and friendly, it's only now that I reflect on it that I noticed - because we were never lacking anything.

It's close to work so I know I will be going back for lunch and it's better than any of the Chinese buffets I drove past along the way, so give them a try!

Huge portions of spicy, authentic Caribbean food.  Though it doesn't beat out Elaine's as my favorite Dallas Caribbean restaurant, it is considerably more convenient (and safer), so it could become a regular spot.

With its large open space, the restaurant is built for dancing, and they have live Reggae music on weekends (wait until you hear the reggae-ized version of Anita Baker's 'Been So Long').   I haven't tried the lunch buffet, but it's supposed to be pretty nice.  The service is very slow, but I guess that's the island way.

Definitely try their homemade ginger beer (its a soda).  Sweet with a nice little kick.  It puts that bottled stuff to shame.

I will only review this place for lunch, as I know it turns into a happening house party when the sun goes down.  The buffet is so delectable that I stuff myself like a pig!  I especially love the curry chicken over rice, the shepard's pie, and the curry chicken over rice =)  The lamb and ox are prepared very well, and the dessert is always interesting.  It is never crowded but there is a steady stream of seemingly loyal patrons (since the owner seems to know all of their names).  Drinks are served by the wait staff.  It is one of the only authentic caribbean grills in the Dallas area, so I will drive the 30 minutes at lunch just to satisfy this craving.  Reasonably priced, friendly and laid back...highly recommended.
