Review from Mark H.
Caramoor is a gem outisde the city that attracts some of the best musicians from around the world. It's a luxurious estate in a Mediterranean style, in beautiful Katonah. If you're in the area, it would be a nice treat to visit just to walk around the grounds (pretty both when the flowers are blooming and also when the leaves are falling, I think), but why not go on a concert day and see the house/museum and grounds before the concert? There are classical concerts, but also jazz and cabaret, morning concerts, indoor concerts in the beautiful music room, and summer concerts in the Spanish Courtyard.
And as a little treat for Metro North-taking classical music lovers, you'll pass through the station "Valhalla" on the way to Katonah! -
Review from Daniel F.
Great Outdoor Venue for Jazz and Classical Music. Wonderful concerts throughout the summer and a wonderfully ran Concessions stand by Great Performances. Not much to really say about this place, just a very peaceful and relaxing place to visit.

Amazing venue for outdoor Summer jazz or classical. Gardens aren't as well maintained this time of year as they are come peak season but architecture, ambiance, and music all gel here on mid-Summer nights.
Specialties
Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts - a unique Westchester County setting of Italianate architecture and gardens - enriches the lives of its audiences through innovative and diverse musical performances of the highest quality, mentors young professional musicians, and engages young children through interactive, educational experiences that deepen their relationship to and understanding of music.
History
Established in 1945
Caramoor is the legacy of Walter and Lucie Rosen who built the luxurious Mediterranean-style villa and filled it with their treasures. Walter Rosen was the master planner for the Caramoor estate, bringing his dream of creating a place to entertain friends from around the world to reality. Their musical evenings were the seeds of the International Music Festival of today.
With its outstanding performances, engaging arts-in-education programming, the extraordinary Rosen House, and beautiful grounds, Caramoor is a cornerstone of the cultural life of Westchester County and beyond. Since 1945 visitors have delighted in the exceptional music--from classical to opera to jazz--and the enchanting garden setting that makes Caramoor such a unique and treasured resource.
