Our three hour sailing trip Sunday afternoon could not have been any better with the highly responsive 50 foot "Bay Wolf" tearing up the bay, fabulous 20knot apparent (~15knot true) breezes and the tremendous "Captain Kirk's San Francisco Sailing" crew stewarding the voyage with insight and courtesy.  This was the kind of day that makes you want to buy a sailboat (once again)!

Pickup was at the Horizons restaurant dock in beautiful Sausalito which made for virtually immediate access to the "slot" under the Gate.  Our route was allowed to be as flexible as we liked and so we choose to go first out under the Gate as the ebb was scheduled for later in the afternoon.  We then criss crossed the Bay several times, generally staying in the windier sections as that was our preference.

Porpoises frolicking under the gate, kitesurfers skittering across the shimmering bay, Indian summer at its best, all added to a day to be fondly remembered.

What a awesome experience! I wanted to do something different for my 30th birthday celebration besides the usual restaurant/bar/Vegas type thing, and it was definitely what I expected, and more.

Captain Kirk was super accommodating and friendly from the get go. I had a million and one questions and everything was set up and done to the very best! There were 20 of me and my friends on the Bay Wolf, and Captain Doug, Tara and MJ were super awesome, totally made my birthday a memorable one. Captain Doug is knowledgeable, and everyone that got to steer the boat had much respect for the crew.

We sailed under a tad foggy weather but everyone on board had such a good time coz the crew was amazing and the views were still spectacular. Extremely reasonably priced, 10% goes straight to charity (thanks so much for always doing this, much respect). Definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a wonderful time or to do something different.

When I learned my work's "team building" was sailing, I was a little hesitant since rain was in the forecast, and puking over the side of a sailboat in a storm isn't exactly the the way I envisioned bonding with my coworkers.

I was pleasantly surprised by the experience.  The rain mostly held off, Captain Kirk and his crew were great and gave us a nice smooth ride in the bay, even in the inclement weather.  And 5 minutes into the ride, they started handing out beers.

    Nobody puked.  Highly recommended.

We had the pleasure of sailing the bay on Captain Kirk's, Bay Wolf. We had a blast! Captain Kirk is great guy. His crew were really nice guys too.
He allowed his guests to take the wheel and steer the boat giving them detailed instructions. My 13 year old son really enjoyed it. Our trip started at Pier 40 and went under the Golden Gate Bridge and back. It was a beautiful scenic route. This is the perfect little boat for a small party of 20 people or less. The rates are really affordable and Captain Kirk gives back to the community by donating to charity.
    Thanks Captain Kirk!!

What a great afternoon!  Wanted to organize a treat for my cousins from the UK who are keen sailors.  The excursion on Bay Wolf for 10 friends and relatives was really good fun despite the chilly weather.  Captain Andy and his crew were very experienced and professional but also relaxed and fun.  Anyone who wanted to participate was welcome to get involved, but it was also fine just to kick back and enjoy all the new perspectives of the city. We saw dolphins close to the Golden Gate Bridge and got a look at the new Bay Bridge under construction.  I would do this again in a heart beat, even on a winter afternoon!

I had the pleasure of sailing with Captain Kirk and his crew for my friend's surprise 30th birthday party.  As a first-time sailor I didn't know what to expect, but the late afternoon/twilight cruise was a breathtaking way to see the bay from a whole new perspective.  We even got to hang out at McCovey Cove and listen to the Giants game!  The crew made sure to have our drinks poured and our appetizers ready. All in all, everyone was friendly and professional, and we had a fantastic night. Thanks Captain  Kirk!

Going out on the Flying Tiger for a trip around the bay was amazing.  Doug, our captain, was totally cool and chill but serious when he needed to be.

I strongly suggest bringing a wind breaker, pants, and gloves.  The wind and water make for a cool trip but if you are prepared, there are no worries.

I think I'm going to take sailing lessons!

What a great day on the bay!  There were 14 in our group;  it was a birthday present for my son's 40th from his wife.  Our sailing date was Dec. 3, 2011 from 1-4 pm.
Captain James and crew members Dogen and Brian were fantastic.  They answered any & all questions we had, served us refreshments and in general were
at our beck and call.   Anyone who wanted to "pilot" the Bay Wolf could and did.

The weather that day was fabulous--sunny with a little wind.  Sailing on the SF Bay was something my son (and the majority of people in our group) had never done and was on his bucket list.

I would definitely return for a second sail!

Sailing on Flying Tiger was a memorable experience that will give you spectacular views and perspectives of the bay that you've probably never seen before.

The six of us set sail on FT ($165 per hour on the weekend for 3 hours) to celebrate my boyfriend's 30th birthday.  I highly recommend celebrating a monumental occasion in this fashion.  You get to relax (well, there is some maneuvering around the boat that is involved), learn to sail, and munch on goodies (food is included).   Onlookers from shore will be jealous - promise.

This was our first time sailing; my boyfriend and our friends had a blast.  We even got to sail underneath the Golden Gate Bridge which was incredible. I def recommend trying Capt. Kirk's sailing if you're looking for some fun and adventure.

P.S. Dress appropriately (jackets, closed shoes, and even pants are recommended).  It gets mighty windy out there.

Six of us went out with Captain Kirk as part of a bachelor weekend.  None of us had any sailing experience, but Captain Kirk and his crew taught us the basics and in the first hour we were sailing the boat on our own.  The crew never let us get into trouble and continued giving us sailing tips throughout the afternoon.  I particularly enjoyed when they pointed out what the other charter boats were doing wrong as we went speeding by.

Three crew members took us out, Captain Kirk, Doug, and Brian.  All three were very knowledgeable about sailing and had some great stories to tell.  They really made it feel like we were out sailing with old friends.  They provided excellent food and drinks, including sandwiches, veggies, chips, soft drinks, water, and beer.  The beer was good beer too.

I would highly recommend Captain Kirk if you are interested in sailing the San Francisco Bay.  It is a very unique experience that can be customized to appeal to anybody.  Captain Kirk and his crew did a great job pushing us to get exactly what we wanted out of our experience.  We got the adventure of sailing a boat on the San Francisco Bay, and the relaxation of drinking some beers while enjoying the sights of the city.

15 of us went sailing in April for a birthday celebration and it was a really good time. Captain Kirk and his crew were super nice, accommodating and helped to create a relaxed atmosphere on our ride. We sailed for 3 hours and got as far out as Angel Island. For some reason I was picturing a yacht or cruise boat - something with a deck and lounge chairs and standing bar- but this was not the boat we were on! It's sailing, not a cruise so ladies, don't wear your dresses and heels here. People had to gingerly walk about the edges of the boat to move around but it was still a lot of fun. Also, safety is a priority for Captain Kirk (which is always appreciated) so you do have to wear a life vest at all times on the boat (also something I wasn't expecting but I see how it's a good idea).

We brought beer, champagne, and an assortment of snacks and one of the crew members prepped it and served it up. SO NICE. We had a fabulous time and I'd recommend Captain Kirk to anyone. He also lets you drive the boat so everyone got to play captain at least once during our ride.

SIMPLY AMAZING!!!!  We shopped around and only Kirk could fulfill all of our personal requests! I hope you enjoy these pictures... Kirk and Brian helped to create the perfect day- picking us up at South Beach Marina (Pier 40) in San Francisco- and then marooned us out (on request! ; ) ) on Angel Island after a 3-hour tour!  (By the way, we made it back to SF by ferry.)  We chose a gorgeous day and they were great hosts for our surprise birthday party!  Their plastic wine glasses were way better than ours and magically stuck to every surface keeping our champagne flowing into our mouths, not onto the deck!! We played U2's "It's a beautiful day" in the background and it really was a day to remember for our crew!!! Definitely recommend Captain Kirk and his crew to EVERYONE!!

We sailed with Captain Kirk's San Francisco Sailing for my 30th birthday on Sunday and it was a wonderful experience from the boat to the crew.  There were 10 of us on the Baywolf and everyone had an amazing time, some even getting involved in sailing.  This has to be my favorite way to see the city! Captain Doug and Tara truly made our trip memorable.

Captain Kirk is all that!  He, and his team, were great at explaining the trip, safety, the boat, items and point so interest, history and much more.

We started out from near AT&T Park, went out to Sausalito, relaxed a bit and then returned, all in about 3 hours.  I wish we had gone under the Golden Gate bridge, but given the amount of wind we had been subjected to between the Bay Bridge and Angel Island, it was rather nice to spend some time floating near Sausalito and not battling the winds again to get under the GG Bridge.  The problem with the wind didn't have anything to do with the boat, its handling or there being a safety issue -- it was just a little too cold and blowing hard, and it was nice to break it up with a relaxing break.

You won;t be disappointed, and in fact, you'll probably be wanting to go back out with Kirk and his crew soon.

Captain Kirk and his crew are AWESOME. They're skilled, friendly, and hilarious. 7 of us spent a delightful evening cruising around the Bay and under the beautiful Bay Bridge. We uncorked a few bottles of wine, snacked on some cheese & crackers, and huddled together to keep warm. Advice - wear nonskid shoes and lots of wind and waterproof clothing! Also bring as many bottles of vino as you wish!

Best birthday surprise ever! I've been dying to go sailing for years and my sweet husband surprised me with a 4 hour excursion with Captain Kirk our of Sausalito under the Golden Gate Bridge. We were blessed with a bright and sunny day out on the water and managed to find enough wind for a fun afternoon on the 36' Flying Tiger.

I would highly recommend Captain Kirk and his gorgeous boat and can't wait to return myself. It was the perfect combination of hands-on learning with relaxation, time to enjoy the incredible views, delicious lunch, and great conversation. Captain Kirk is a delightful instructor and entertainer and we greatly enjoyed our afternoon with him. He and his wife seemed life perfect role models for my husband and I....even got us dreaming about a sailboat in our future.

We will definitely be visiting the Flying Tiger again, hopefully with friends and family next time! Thanks Captain Kirk for a great sail and thanks to Keith for the perfect surprise!

I wanted to give my husband a sailing trip for his birthday and one of my criteria was that he be allowed to sail the boat.  So I searched online and found Capt Kirk, who loves to let his passengers get involved.  He let us steer and if we wanted to, could have done even more with his instruction.  We had about 21 people on the Bay Wolf and the crew showed us a really good time.  Every single person that joined us thanked me profusely for arranging this trip.  Its a great gift and a great way to see the bay.  Capt Kirk also provided a nice lunch for us, which we ate on calmer waters.  I would highly recommend this for your next get together!

We brought lots of food and his crew helped put together and serve up the delicious goodies (in ways we didn't even think of when we bought the food).  It was a gorgeous day out on the bay and very relaxing.  I would definitely charter a trip out w/ them again!

I surprised my girlfriend with a sailing adventure out on SF bay and I found Captain Kirk to make that adventure the best it could possibly be. We packed a lunch and headed to the piers and Captain Kirk was their with his skipper Mia, his daughter. They immediately greeted us with open arms and gave us the low down of his beautiful boat. Captain Kirk was hilarious and was very knowledgable of the lay of the water. He had great stories to tell and really just had a warm heart. It was the best sailing trip a girl could ask for.

I would highly recommend Captain Kirk and his crew for the best experience ever. His knowledge, sense of humor, and teaching skills really made us feel like he was a part of our family. You will have the time of your life if you pick Captain Kirk!

I went out on the boat with Captain Kirk last weekend and it was awesome. We got to experience some fast sailing as well as some mellow hanging out in the bay. He is obviously an able sailor and I felt comfortable on the boat.

Also, his heart is in the right place as he donates 10% of proceeds to charity.

Captain Kirk and his crew showed my friend's birthday group an awesome time on the Bay.  The boat is medium sized and friendly to non-boaters, with good railing and seating areas and a high boom.  The price was reasonable for a luxury-ish scenic event and you get great pics and a chance to txt your friends "I'm on a boat!"

Sailed in the bay with Kirk , Brian and my six friends for part of my fathers memorial  Went out on the 50 ft boat for about 1:45. Kirk and Brian were professional and respectful.  They let me hang my dads sailing flag up. They served champagne (that we provided) after spreading the ashes.  The boat was perfect for this size group.  Thx Kirk !

    What a great experience!!!
I wanted to take my hubby sailing on our anniversary and found Captain Kirk on Yelp and decided to go sailing with him. Captain Kirk is absolutely fabulous, fun and super patient....I must have called him a thousand times to make sure everything was perfect especially because the weather wasn't the best and we were visiting SFO for just a day. But, he assured me that if the rain gods showed up again he would do a full refund, so that was great. I prayed n prayed that the sun gods triumph over the rain gods so that we could make it and we did......YAY!!!

We took the smaller sail boat- Flying Tiger since we were 4 people. Captain Kirk shared some of his sailing stories and instructed us on how things work on the boat. He involved us and taught us basic sailing terms and tricks. He also had some yummy wine, chips, turkey sanwiches and delicious chocolate for us to munch on. Being on the water was extremely refreshing and relaxing...the breeze misty and cold hitting our faces as we sat back and enjoyed the view while sipping fine Californian wines and sharing some laughs and stories with each other....it was perfect. It's a great way to spend a morning in SFO with your friends and family and also  experiencing the city and the golden gate bridge. I would highly recommend going Sailing with Captain Kirk...

I found Captain Kirk from their perfect Yelp record.  Our buddy was coming in to town for a bachelor party, but something different than the typical night party.  So, I signed up 5 of us for Captain Kirk's BayWolf 50' yacht for 4 hours, and we had an awesome day.

Each of us got a chance to get behind the wheel and steer the boat (you can really feel the movements).  Some of us helped out with the ropes and sails.  But, most of the time, we just chilled out, ate, drank, and laughed.

We started in Sausalito, sailed under the GG bridge, came back, then went down and around the Bay Bridge, and then back.  Great food and drinks on board, and awesome sailing lessons and stories from the crew.

What fun!! I've sailed on the SF Bay before, but this time was like no other. First, Captain Kirk is the consummate coach. He loves to teach - which means you get to drive the boat (if you so desire), under his watchful eye. He has been sailing in the Bay for quite a while, so there is a lot of knowledge to be had. Plus, it was just plain beautiful...from the misty golden gate bridge to the SF skyline - it was simply stunning. A wonderful trip overall...

First time on a real sailboat and l loved every minute. The crew of two had just the right balance of professionalism and familiarity. We were able to see the Golden Gate Bridge up close, cruise past the city and then on around Angel Island. Very educational and worth the price. We had seven of us (including a three year-old) plus two crew members and it was perfect seating. Able to move around, visit, take the helm off and on, and we even had a light lunch on the boat. Highly recommend this "three hour tour..." Good for any age.

Some friends and I decided we wanted to go on a boat on the Bay. Some Googling and Yelping later, we came up with Captain Kirk's SF Sail! They had the most reasonable prices around, as well as the most alluring packages (includes great food and drink from Mollie Stone? Yes, please!).

I gave Captain Brian a call on Wednesday and scheduled a Sunday afternoon sailing trip for 3 hours. He was busy sailing when I first called, but very timely in calling me back to confirm the appointment. I put down my credit card and we were good to go.

Come Sunday, my friends and I show up a bit late (definitely follow the directions on the website!) and after a brief run-through of safety procedures, we were off. We sat on the front of the Flying Tiger enjoying our turkey, provolone, strawberries, grapes and drinks.

Captain Brian was SUPER friendly - he taught one of my friends the basic sailing procedure and that friend enjoyed taking over the boat for a short time. When I started feeling seasick, he was helpful in finding a remedy (look at the horizon in front of you). He knew some interesting tidbits about the huge yachts and islands around us. We took silly photos, enjoyed some champagne and had a great time sailing on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. All in all, the trip was superb and Captain Brian was a great lead.

We're definitely going to go sailing with Captain Kirk LLC again and I'd strongly recommend going with them because there's a very personal, friendly feel :)

Sailing with Captain Kirk was an absolutely phenomenal experience. Captain Kirk himself is incredibly fun and kind, making the trip that much more entertaining; the crew members are also hilarious and personable. They offered all the passengers the opportunity to sail the boat, and the views and sights during the trip were just unbelievable. A portion of the revenues even goes to local charities...

Captain Kirk is the way to go, and we spent 3+ hours in the SF Bay.  We launched off the Pier 39 area by the sea lions.  Yes, the sea lions are back!  I've been told the best times are in the Fall to enjoy the calmer waters.

It was quite the sailing adventure, and we went on a beautiful clear day.  The Captain also taught several of us how to steer!

My friends and I went sailing with Captain Kirk last Saturday and had a great time.  He clearly has a lot of expertise and experience, was very friendly and a good host (cold beers go a long way) and made us all feel comfortable on the boat even though some of my friends had never been sailing before.

If you are someone who sails, you'll love the boat - we went out expecting pretty high 20-25 knot winds.  Usually that means a lot of water spray and getting wet!  The weather picked up when we went out and we were well over 30 knots by the time we went out!  But the boat handled really well in those conditions, I had a blast sailing it, and all but one of my friends stayed dry.

We'll definitely do it again sometime.

Had an amazing and fun time, we went on the cruise for a friend's birthday. Captain Kirk makes the trip very fun and his crew was very attentive, the snacks and food was really good. Trying to gather some friends for a repeat.

    GREAT DAY!!

I coordinated a Team Building Event for our Dept of 17 attendees with Captain Kirk and he couldn't have been easier to work with!

He was very responsive to my emails/phone calls and we quickly found a great date appropriate to our dept's Calendaring needs - Which I thought would be my greatest challenge in making this reservation.  Captain Kirk made it surprisingly effortless!

Captain Kirk and his crew were extremely informative, fun to sail with and very pleasant all around - We couldn't have had a more enjoyable day.

Captain Kirk let any of us who wanted, drive the boat and gave us great direction and information while making the day absolutely delightful and entertaining for all.

Definitely a great find in Captain Kirk's Sailing Adventures!
