Wow, what a great find!
Excellent Italian deli that has people lined up all the time!
Tried their dipped pastrami and lasagna -fresh and delish !
Plenty of staff to fill the long line of customers waiting everytime I come here.
Need more tables outside - only 2 is not enough. -

Capri has been around forever, passed down from parents to kids and still family-run.
They make fantastic sandwiches on good bread and with fresh ingredients. Capri carries a reasonable range of deli meats and cheeses to take home, too. Their fresh sausage and Italian groceries are limited but high quality. Italian cookies are great, though inexplicably expensive.
The only thing I don't love about Capri is their sauce (what comes on meatball subs or lasagne, for example); it's a little weak.
Staff at Capri are mostly friendly and helpful. Seating area is always clean. -

My god....
was feeling pretty famished after a day of barking orders. at first, i was really indecisive as to what i wanted to quell this growing hunger. then i realized it had been a few weeks since i had been back to the Capri Deli.
i made it there before the major lunch rush, sweet! so many great choices, what the heck should i order? finally, i came to a decision on the Meatball/Sausage combo, with fried peppers, on Garlic bread. minutes later, i was back in the ride on my way back to work.
its soo hard to try and describe that feeling of pure craving satisfaction. this sandwich just nailed all the right tastebuds, and knocked it out of the park. crispy bread, sausage and meatballs hacked together, side of marinara, melty cheese everywhere..ugh, just so damn good!!
this truly is as close to sandwich nirvana, as one can possibly get. and now, a new problem.. making sure i wake up, outta this food coma, to finish out the day.1 Previous Review: Show all »

This is an awesome Italian delicatessen! They have almost everything you can ask for! I really liked how they had a Soprano's poster in the dining room! The food here is very good, not eating red meat though I could not try the staple Italian dishes. My fiance and I ordered turkey sandwiches which were really good but did not test out this places ability much. My dad ordered the Veal sandwich and said it was really good. The place is packed and definitely worth the trip!

New Favorite Sub: Meatball/Sausage combo w/ provolone and fried peppers on garlic bread (accompanied by marinara sauce on the side).
From the crispy garlic bread, to the gooeyness of the provolone cheese melted in with the fried peppers, to the soft texture of the meatballs and sausages, and topping off each bite with marinara, conquering this sub truly was an experience that will stay stuck with me forever..
Probably one of the best subs I've had to date, no joke.Listed in: GO here now!

I can't believe I've been yelping for a few years and haven't wrote a review for Capri! I've been coming here since as long as i remember. This place still hasn't changed. Sandwiches are still amazing, i don't venture out too much. I usually go with my Turkey or the Meatball on garlic bread. And i recently started getting there mug root beer. I'm not even a huge root beer fan but this stuff is sooo good it's ridiculous! Try to stay away around lunch hour, it turns into a mad house. Other than that it's great!!

Good sub but I do prefer Claros... just my opinion of course. They do have a huge variety of olives and other goods plus a full deli. It seems that their hot sandwiches are very popular (which I may try the french dip next). I got the small cold cut combo, some potato salad and a soda.. roughly around 10 bucks..... If I do get a sandwich from Capri's again, I will definitely customize my meats and cheeses (one thing I like about claros).
Would go back again though.... -

Enormous sandwiches, awesome pastrami, eclectic selection of bottled sodas/drinks, busy/fun atmosphere.
Small sandwhich is enough for me (and I ain't no ewok), but a large would feed a family of wookies.
It's so good, I'm heading there for lunch! -

Had lunch here with coworkers who rave about this place and I have got to say...I don't get it.
My food was disgusting. I couldn't even finish it because I was gagging. I had a meatball and sausage sandwich because I was told it was AMAZING.
To each his own. Everything isn't for everyone, yada, yada, yada. They just tasted like globs of nothingness to me and my sandwich preparer was rude.
I no longer eat meat, but I couldn't see myself returning here if I was still consuming animal flesh! -

They specialize in hot & cold subs. I ordered the small turkey breast cold sub & the turkey was the star of the show. It was so fresh and juicy and the best part was that you can buy it by the pound! I obvously took some home. The overall taste of the sub was too salty but maybe because I ordered it with mustard, olives, pickles , and jalapenos.
It was kinda pricey for a sub. about $10. Would I eat there again? MMMmm yes if I was nearby, but definity going back to buy turkey and make my own sandwiches at home!
Oh, and they also have pizzas and pastas, and a little market with authentic italian pastas, old fashioned sodas! and hard to find condiments. -

I miss this place since I've moved!
Capri deli has the best meatball sandwich around! My daughter always ordered the lasagna...and loved it. So I decided to try the lasagna to go. I was hooked! They have a variety of portion sizes, and the price is right. If you are in the mood for a sweet treat, their cookies are delicious. -

Capri Deli
This is a great family business that has been established in Covina for years. The owners are fantastic and their employees are always willing to suggest something delicious. I try not to go to your typical sandwich shop like 'Subway' because it's important to support our mom & pop businesses.
What I like here is their meat ball sandwiches! The meatballs are of great quality beef, the bread still tasted fresh and their cheese was AWESOME!
I've ordered a few "sub party trays" with different types of sandwiches which were all so good. My favorite cold sandwich is the Turkey with Provolone Cheese! I tend to like turkey sandwiches and this is one of my favorites in the Eastern SGV area.
The service is excellent! The employees all show to have a strong work ethic and a pleasant attitude while servicing their customers. Their store is always kept extremely clean and if you need something for a party you can be in and out very quickly.
I recommend Capri Deli any day!

Found out about this place while on a plane to Atlanta. Was seated next to a wonderful female Air Force nurse. She shared some of Capri Deli's homemade beef jerky. Now, I have never liked beef jerky, but this stuff is amazing - made from their home made roast beef. Finally was nearby today and went over. They also have amazing au jus for their roast beef. Their string cheese is delicious and goes great with the three types of jerky (regular; teriyaki; and peppered teriyaki). The help is also very friendly and fun. Also got a meatball sub on garlic bread with provolone on it. Amazing. Really a delicious sandwich. Can't wait to go back and try their lasagna.

My #1 Deli!!!
The sandwiches are gigantic-- Seriously, I can eat and these things serve as two meals for me.
I love the Turkey with Provolone-- Never had one better!
The Meatball is great as well.
I love the fact that they have a wide variety of off the wall sodas-- and chips to boot! -

My husband has been bringing me to Capri Deli for years! I'm not much a fan of deli items, but I like Capri and keep coming back. Their sandwich items are generally fresh, periodically the roll is stale or the lettuce is limp, and the deli salads are good.
We have had their pizza once and were not fond of it, but we do enjoy the side salad, spaghetti and meatballs.
Service is friendly and prompt, never had an issue with it. The counter set-up can prove challenging for ordering though; the counter is high so you have to be either super tall or quite short and there are no designated ordering spaces. It can get chaotic and lunchtime but luckily the employees are pretty good at keeping the flow going. -

Eh...? I've had two sandwiches from here..
#1 Italian: Actually tasted like mushy meat without much flavorful kick...
#2 Turkey & American cheese: Mush/Sogginess and no flavor what so ever..
I suppose im spoiled from other sandwich joints with more authentic meats.
If ever happen to be in the area and Claros is closed, ill try eating something like meatball parm sandwich, its ok if that sandwich is soggy.
FYI if your from the east coast and know what a real sandwich is like, you arent gonna be happy at capri... -

Wow! Enormous sandwiches! I have eaten about 10 different kinds both hot and cold and have never had a bad sandwich and their pizzas are great as well! The staff is always great and friendly and I love the fact that I find all of the hard to find sodas! As for the pricing it may be a little pricey but good, tasting large portions are worth it! In addition they also have a great selection of additional products that are worth looking at.

This place is really good! I have only had the cold cut sandwich but for the amount of meat that you get it's worth it. Also has a great selection of beverages, sodas that are really hard to find. They also serve pizzas, and have a small deli that you can get potato salad and other items from. Will go back soon to try more of their options that they offer. The only bad things is they charge fro extra tops but stil worth it.

We order a cold cut 4 ft sub a week ago and was decadent! For the size of it, the meats and all the works stayed fresh til the last slice. They gave us the condiments on the side which was great for the picking people at our party. Highly recommend.

Not my favorite deli...I love Old World Deli much more. My mom went in today to get a to go lunch order. We got two veggie sandwiches with cheese and a roast beef sandwich with a side of marinated mushrooms and a side of artichoke hearts.
The sandwiches are good, not the most amazing but decent. The bread is really good. The marinated mushrooms didn't have much flavor at all, the ones at Old World Deli are MUCH more flavorful. The artichokes were BAD!! and I mean bad in the spoiled sense. **UPDATE** Yeah, i've visited the toilet a few times today because of these spoiled artichoke hearts. ugh.
I like that they have an assortment of glass bottle sodas, and they do have a large menu with a good selection. It just not my favorite, but its ok. -

Came in here last week to pick up a sandwich...I requested a simple turkey provolone..
I was so grossed out. The bread was soggy within 5 minutes, and it was full of slimy gross horrible quality turkey. Then toss in the pound of pickles and tomatoes..ew! I picked at it only cause I was starving, and still couldn't eat more then a few bites.
I don't understand why this place is so popular. Gross. Overrated. I honestly would have gone to Claros instead, I only ended up here cause it was a Wednesday. :x

Usually if I'm craving a delicious sandwich I think of East side market deli in LA, but I have to say this place is pretty good for being in the area, and it's not to expensive and the sanwhiches are big, you can't go wrong with any sandwhich on the menu, oh and there bow tie salad is delicious.

Feeney Pepperoncini is the BOMB!!! So is the Turkey Pastrami. Actually...EVERYTHING you order is good! I have been eating here for some time now and I don't think I have ever had something that I didn't like or that I had to send back. I love that they also have ready to go meals when you are in a hurry and dont have time to make dinner.
The Rootbeer is so good! I get a extra large everytime I go just because who knows when I will get the chance to stop in and get another one!
The stringcheese that they have in the cooler is fantastic!
Capri Deli is a must try! You'll be hook..I promise! -

Food was OK and service was fast. Not sure why all the five stars because I wasn't that impressed. Food was bland and lacked any real flavor and I kept hoping the next bite would give me the reason for a great review. I'll return if I'm in the area and try something different, but I won't make any special trips.

Pastrami sandwich, double dipped, with mustard and pickles. Ooooh my God it was amazing, hands down the best pastrami sandwich I've ever had and probably will ever have. The bread was good, the pickles were crispy, the mustard was mustardy, the pastrami was cooked just right and full of flavor, and the jus was hot, plentiful, and amazing. Comfort food at its best!

As far as deli's go this independent italian deli has me quite happy.
Great values. Awesome lunch specials. Excellent quality meats, fun variety of different sodas still served in a good old fashioned glass bottle, tasty looking variety of cookies, nice selection of frozen take home options too! Whattta more do ya want huh???!!! fugeta bout it,,not really, get your booty over there!
Parking here sort of sucks,,I would love to see a great independent like this take up a huge corner block somewhere with one of those old school signs with blinking lights announcing its greatness. -

Holy mother of sandwiches, this deli is AMAZING!
Seriously, this is my "go-to" place for anything and everything Italian Deli.
My favorites are the Pastrami Dip & Meatball on Garlic Bread.
In all honesty, I have not had one bad thing there. I totally recommend it to anyone in the area! -
