This is the place to be for any sports events. I would always go here for all UFC events, it was 5 dollars to get in which is better than any other spots. They have TV's all around even in the bathroom stalls so you dont miss a second of what you're watching even if you have to go to the bathroom. The food is great, my favorite item is the nachos with some beer. My favorite area of this place was the upstairs with comfortable couches and it also had a balcony so you can go out for a smoke. Some of the waiters are great and some are not, the manager Brian is a cool guy couple of times he sent our table tequila shots on the house. I know this place closed down but I still wanted to write a review for it. I think they're opening up some kind of a Cantina here but I hope they still have sporting events.

Review from Michael M.
Los Angeles, CA
I went to Capitol City for the first time yesterday for the F.C. Barcelona v. Real Madrid soccer match, and I was really impressed with this place.
First, the place is visually appealing. The decor is modern and sleek, and it doesn't have the feel of a typical Sports Bar. There are T.V's everywhere as well as a projection screen in the main area which means that you can watch the games from every angle and not miss a play. There is also a second floor and a patio that will more than accommodate the overflow of the bar and main room.
The food is really good. I had the pepperoni pizza and it was excellent. On the other hand there is something to be said about the service. When my party and I arrived, we were promptly seated, given our menus, asked what we wanted to drink and then...nothing. Out waitress never returned. She did however manage to help other patrons that came AFTER us. After 15 or so minutes of waiting around we asked another server to help us and afterward is was smooth sailing.
The place is great. It's situated in a rockin' area of Hollywood, the drink selection is great, the food is excellent, and the ambiance is chill. The only reason why I didn't give this place 5 stars is because of the crappy service we got and we first arrived, otherwise this place rocks. Especially when Barcelona plays and the BARCA
Locos are there!

Review from Amie B.
Los Angeles, CA
This place has SO much potential. SO MUCH. The atmospehere is stellar and the food is pretty decent. We've been there a few times and I'm always pleased with the huge screens and comfy seats. There really isn't a bad seat in the place. For this, it gets 5 stars.
Subtract 1 - We ordered buffalo strips and got screwed - there were 5 small lukewarm, dried out pieces that looked like they had been sitting under the heat lamp for too long. The sauce was dried, not juicy so I suspect they had been left for some time. We saw other orders getting carried to tables that had double the amount and looked delicious...but we missed out. I would have told my server or ANYONE who worked there, but they are scarce and nobody ever came by our table.
Subtract 3 - their service is ABSURD. It's so terrible it makes me laugh. We sat down and weren't helped for 20 minutes. We were watching a game so we weren't as bothered by it as we may have been if there was nothing on, but after we got sat about 6 other groups did and were all helped. Just when I was starting to fume a busboy came and gave us waters, we hadn't asked for them. He didn't say a word when I asked where our server was.
After our first 20 minutes an annoyed looking lady came and asked us what we wanted. She never said she was sorry for the wait and didn't even introduce herself. She said 'what are you going to have to eat' and that's literally ALL she said. We never saw her again. Our waters were empty the entire time we waited for our food (it took so long for her to take our orders it was empty when she got to the table).
Once the (disappointing) food came, nobody ever came to check on us, refill drinks or ask if we wanted more. We had fully intended on ordering a few things during the games, spaced out but literally couldn't because nobody ever came by our table. After we were done the dirty plates stayed on our table for another 30 minutes, even though the busboy walked past us about 50 times. He seemed more interested in the games that were on than anything else.
After our plates were finally taken away a different server came to us, refilled our waters and told us she was taking over for Esmerelda. We were like...'who is Esmerelda?' and she told us it was our server., the one we only saw once. So she left without telling anybody, god knows when she left.
Worst service ever. Even with good food and great atmosphere, service really makes or breaks an establishment. This place could be great for large groups and if the service was better I would come back with lots of friends...I might even be a regular, but I know this isn't going to happen. Very disappointing. -

It was the first time I was there and had a great time.
The food was great and the atmosphere was lively. We watched the Barca vs Arsenal game.
Our waitress did not submit my friends food with mine so that was a minor issue.
The bathrooms have TV's in them and you'll never miss the action.
I will definitely be back and enjoy the good times.
C'mon Chelsea!!! Cheers!!! -
Review from Peppur C.
Los Angeles, CA
It's hard to rate this place because I had such a great time in spite of poor service I experienced. (My first time attending.)
I think the main issue is the bar staff is so over worked that they don't or can't give a crap if you get your drink or not. Some guys waited for-ever to get a drink at the main bar...being a girl, I tried the girl-thing to try and get them a drink...as did two other girls who had seats at the bar. The bartender very rudely snapped at the girls and told them to worry about themselves and to not order for anyone else. All three of us were shocked...what kinda bartender behavior is that??
The female bartender took my order at one point and when I said to put it on MY tab, she said, "You'd better not be ordering drinks and putting it on someone else's tab." Rude insinuation.
Two girls waited to get a drink. A bartender chose to get a drink for the guy standing BEHIND them and shouted the order over the girls.
Maybe this is a place where you have to be a familiar face and/or super aggressive.
A group of us witnessed a manager SHOUTING and gutter-swearing at a customer (maybe they knew each other, maybe they didn't) still, incredibly unprofessional.
The nachos were amazing. The beer choices are great. The prices are reasonable. The people in the bar are awesome. I made friends with the guys I tried to order for! I didn't mind standing for both the Packers and Steelers games and I still had a great time for great games.
I wish very much that the service had been better....and I tipped all of them inspite of it all. -

How does a NON-sports fanatic like me end up at Capitol City for the 3rd time in the past 5 months? Mostly because I went there with a friend who IS a sports fanatic. So if you're one of "those people" then Capitol City is a pretty cool spot. Even if you're not one of "those people," it's still a pretty cool spot.
My first experience here was overwhelming. First USA game of the World Cup. Crazy crowded but tons of fun in the back area with all the cheering, rowdiness, and rivalry. My last experience here was quite the opposite! Very chill and laid back Monday night football. Met up with said sports fanatic friend for his birthday and 49er game. Relaxed with a glass of cabernet sauvignon. I also got a side of steamed veggies for $5. My bill was $14. What!?! That's a pricey glass of wine! But it was one of the tastiest glasses of cabernet sauvignon I've ever had! And it's just fun to say sauvignon with my best french accent ;)
This place is HUGE! Great for accommodating large groups. Lounge areas upstairs, bars and dining areas on the main floor. Televisions all around...including the bathrooms. One GIANT screen in the main dining area for your football watching pleasure (or sport of choice.) I would be happy to kick it in there if only I could watch episodes of The Office and old reruns of Friends ;P
Service is good. Staff is friendly. Valet is $8 but there is also a $5 parking lot one block south of Capitol City on Cahuenga.
Not necessarily my first choice in places to hang out but it's nice to know it's there. 3.5 stars rounded up :) -

I'm so sad to say that this place has gone way downhill since it opened.
Once a trendy and accessible sports bar with great food and attentive service, the place looks run down and the service, while nice, was very slow. Like someone else said - they are all over you and then forget about you.
The salad was only OK but the bruschetta was tasty, if an interesting way to serve it. (The tomatoes and mozerella were on the side)
The Tomato Basil soup was luke-warm.
The folks we were with loved the burgers and I'd give 3 stars for this if I hadn't been there when they opened and known how great they used to be. -

When they first opened it was amazing! Now I feel like they are too "big for their britches"!
If I had written this review 6 months ago it would have been 5 stars! Great staff! Great food! Great Fun
Now the food is crappy and The service sucks!
Oh.. And never make reservations here at all, they won't honor them if it's busy! (which is why you make a reservation in the first place right?) This has happened to be 3 times. As crappy as this sounds.. (big wangs has better food now than Cap City.
Cap City.. I used to love you with all of my heart.. Then you broke it.. And smashed it.. -

After reading the other reviews for this place, I feel that my friends and I just got lucky one random Tuesday, because everything was great!
We came to watch the Lakers game, but came wayyyy earlier for happy hour. I didn't eat, but my friends said they enjoyed their food.
Candy was our waitress, and she was WONDERFUL! Being in the restaurant industry, I know what makes a good server, and what does not. She had it all - knowledgeable about the food and beer, had personality (made all of us feel comfortable), and was very communicative about EVERYTHING.
Eventually we had to move because there was a buyout that evening, and Candy was nice enough to let us continue our evening in her section on the outdoor patio. Honestly, I would have to say that Candy was the highlight of our evening. We haven't laughed so much in a very long time...she's hilarious!
So, my advice to people who come here is to be ready for whatever. You may get lucky like us, or you may end up having a bad time. Just remember, it's a bar, and when it gets busy, you probably should just stay away if you don't have the patience. -

How does a star fall so far, so very fast?
To the Patron:
Like so many of you have already stated....."This used to be my Favorite place". Now, I prefer Dillon's, because atleast they appear to appreciate my business, and the drinks and food are very reasonable. The ambience is definitely not as hip as Cap. City (CC), but when there is a big sporting event on, both places draw such a huge crowd that you end up standing the entire time any how.
To the Bar:
My Dearest CC, why have you strayed so far from who you once were? You were so pure, humble, accommodating, and unique. Now you are like every other "Hollywood" spot. Servers are rude, your prices are unreasonable, your entire organization is unorganized.
Why does your security need to be so rude? I have been to your bar over 30 times, with several different groups. Do they not know how to distinguish between regular paying customers and Riff Raff? Why are your servers and hostess so pretentious? Maybe we should just mail them our money, and not even come to the bar. But then again, I'm sure they would still find cause for complaint.
As much as it pains me that you have fallen to such a low place, at least in the eyes of the socially active professional crowd, sometimes it is necessary to hit the bottom for reality to set in.
To the Man:
Mr. C is a charming man, with a good heart, and seemingly good intentions, but for some reason those traits have not found their way into the DNA of your pub. Good luck righting that battle ship Bro.
Cheers! -

CONS: Service - that needs some help. First you are greeted by the hostess with the mostest attitude.. Seated at a table that the table was not wiped down.. The waitress forgot my water 2X and never came. We got a new server after being there for 30 minutes and the service was much better.
PROS: The set up was AWESOME!! I told my husband that if he wants me to watch sports..he has to take me here! I LOVED IT! A HUGE bigscreen and tv's everywere.. Great mixed crowd!
Will definitely be back - Most likely this weekend.
The food is just ok.. but as long as there's STELLA.. I'm sold!
OH! and saw a celebrity.. dunno if you'd still call him a celebrity!

So, what do you do when you wanna watch the Oscars (or a game) with someone you don't really want to just invite over to your house yet (or at all)? Head to Cap City to watch on the big screen while snacking on nachos and tater tots, of course.
Pluses: crazy big screen action, the aforementioned tots, and the last time I was there I ended up seated next to this woman who had what might have been the biggest hair I've ever seen outside of Dallas, Texas.
Minuses: mediocre service (always), questionably maintained loo, and the valets may or may not have your keys at the end of the evening. Fortunately they managed to find mine, but not until I kind of lost my temper a little bit.
I'll go back - but I won't valet there again. -

I was going to give Capitol City a nice three-star review ... you know, it's not bad for a soulless, generic Hollywood sports bar that features the HUGEST television I've ever seen ...
That was until I met the downstairs bartender and well folks, that's when my tenuous admiration of the place fell apart.
See, it really chaps my hide when I, the customer, whilst making no unreasonable demands, get treated badly by my waiter/bartender/barista/cashier. Since when it is a prerequisite for me, the customer, to put up with your shitty little attitude?
See, by the way this guy was acting, you'd think that I'd waded into a bar that was forty-deep and he was up to his neck in drink orders. He wasn't -- there were about four other people there.
Soldiering on, I ordered my beer and my Dewar's on the rocks, and Mr. Cranky ran my card and when he came back with my receipt, he tossed the little black folder over the bar at me with such force that said receipt AND my debit card fell out.
Yeah, real classy, dude, thanks a lot. Even children know not to throw things at people, I mean, c'mon, it's just rude.
It's not like this guy was so harried that he couldn't have taken the extra, I don't know, half-a-second, to gently set it down in front of me, instead.
Whatever man, I totally regret that $2 tip I gave you.Listed in: Au Revoir

Was disappointed when I came back to LA to find this place closed. I enjoyed going to watch Premier League games with my friend and having a Corona or two before we went about our day. Half decent food and fantastic service with a smile. There were cheaper bars but the relaxed open atmosphere was what drew us in. Sad to see it go genuinely enjoyed my time here.

I had a business meeting at Capitol City, the the day for lunch. I took two of my buddies there, and we wanted to sit on the patio. Server was nice and let us take forks and menus out there.
I got a chicken caesar salad, it was good.
My friends enjoyed the food as well, no complaints there.
I will def. be back. -

It's true what everyone else says: the service here is appalling. (When servers are so angry, it makes me feel like the management must not be treating them very well.) But if there's a game I want to watch that's not on TV, I'll walk down here because it's not quite as rowdy as other places nearby, and the food is decent.
(CAVEAT: This place is two-star during football season, one star during basketball season. During basketball season, this place is an overcrowded, drunk, trashy, depressing disaster -- don't even try it.) -

Los Angeles, CA
Being a fan of sunday football, my boyfriend and I wanted a great place to watch the late game. I recently heard of Capital City and wanted to try it on this rainy sunday.
We saw the menu online which was the first draw. The choices were a nice mix for people who still want to have healthy options. The restaurant was not crowded which led to our great seats. The positioning of the many TV screens was great and not distracting. The restaurant set up was nice for a couple or a group.
I loved the extended list of beer choices.
The food was quite good.. sirloin burger was very tasty and came with a generous portion of a mixed green salad. The tri tip salad was a nice mix of veggies and the sweet potato fries were crisp and yummy!!
Although the servers were nice, the actual service was shoddy and lame. No beverage napkins under the wet draft beer glass. I had to ask for S&P which was not even on the table as well as the proper dressing for my salad. When it arrived, it was in drippy cups placed on the table, rather then just putting the cups on a side plate.
The menu, price range and atmosphere was good enough for me to return. -
Review from Ben K.
Pros: Lots of TVs, clean, pretty good food, great drink specials
Cons: Smallish, so feels a bit more crowded than it should. A bit pricey
TCU had a game watching party for all the L.A./OC area alumni here, so I made the trip north from Irvine to attend, especially since it was against Utah, the number 5 team in the country. We defeated them pretty good, so I got to spend less time stressing out about who would win and more time enjoying Capitol City bar.
Located right in the middle of Hollywood, the bar is nice and clean. There are many large TVs and nice tables and chairs to sit at. Since TCU had a big congregation at the game, they gave us the main room with the huge screen. It was fun having the room to ourselves.
The food is pretty good. Bar standards such as wings, burgers, fries and melts mixed alongside more Hollywoodish cuisine such as sushi rolls, vegetarian options and more. I had the wings and thought they were good. Drinks are pricey, but they do have specials and if you get those, the drinks shouldn't be too bad.
The place is kind of smallish, so even when it's not super busy it still feels a lot busier than it is. Hollywood isn't a big sports bar kind of a town, but for us transplants that live here or near here (and there are many of us), Capitol City is a great place to meet up and watch our teams. -

Well people let me tell you, this is THE place for all you fanatic sports fans. There are flat screens galore everywhere, a wide range of seating and a plethora of beverages to chose from, it's Hollywood's take on the "sports bar" that's for sure. It's a great open space with awesome views of "Hollywood" street life and tons of places to sit lounge and kick back.
Now me, I'm not, I repeat not a fan of waiting. So, please for your dear, sweet soul MAKE RESERVATIONS! Especially if there is any sort of playoffs, post season, championship, World Series, ANYTHING. You will never get a table. I mean never, ever. You will wait and wait or stand around at the bar, which is cool, but just not for me. Mind you, the wait service is pretty cool, when they do come around. I think they are just working out the kinks of a new establishment, but if you're hungry and don't have reservations, I high suggest eating before you come.
We did in fact meet the owner Curtis and he was fab. We never got a table and he bought us a round of drinks, which when they run like $13 + a pop, was A-OK in my book and brought Capital City back up in my books.
I'm not a huge sports fan, except of the YANKEES!!! But I def think Capital City had done sports fans justice for sure. This is as much fun you can have at the game without actually being there.
p.s. street parking is a mofo; you will have to valet (around the corner $6) -

Came here to eat this time. Let's just say THIS review is for Capitol City as a restaurant experience, and the first is as a drinking experience.
Minus points for:
-slow ass service. woof.
-the worst grilled cheese ever. I KNOW - how hard could it possibly be to fuck up grilled cheese? well.... the bread was blackened and burnt, with char-marks as if it had been tossed on the grill ... but the 5 slices of cheese were relatively untouched, in that only the outermost slices were even starting to resemble melted. no thanks.
-not telling our table that one of our meal items was 'not available, according to the chefs' until 5 minutes AFTER every other item was cooked and brought out to the table. this rendered one diner completely outta luck, as the game was ending and we didn't wanna stay extra later to wait for slow service and an all new meal
so yea, moral of the story: drink here, watch the games on the actually-very-kick-ass-and-abundant-flat-screens, but don't bother ordering any grub. and stick to ordering from the bar, if you can.1 Previous Review: Show all »

This place has become my spot. I've been there about 5 times now and each time it gets better and better. The drinks are always right and the food is pretty good too. I've had the Fish and Chips, two of the burgers, hot wings and sweet fries.
Since I work in food service, what always stands out for me is the service and each time I've been the service has been awesome....well there was this one time when they were very slow and the manager closed over three hours early and rushed us out, but since then the service has been on point.
When you first walk in the bar sort of has this wanna be feel to it, but once inside the place settles and the vibe is great. If you are a sports fan, then this place rocks. HUGE main screen and plenty of smaller screens. -
Review from Libby W.
Seattle, WA
2 stars for the establishment overall.
5 stars for our server, Silvana!
I took my friend out for his birthday last night and we decided to try this place because neither of us has ever been. The vibe was definitely sort of strange, like it doesn't know what it wants to be - a trendy Hollywood club or a sports bar. After spending an evening there it is decidedly NOT someplace I would come to watch sports - it's just too...uppity. As an aside, it was pretty ballsy of them to open a giant sports bar practically directly across the street from Big Wangs, the giant sports bar mainstay of Cahuenga for the past 5 years (and where I will continue to go to actually watch sports).
When we entered there was a giant, scary bouncer at the door (as mentioned by previous reviewers) and we were greeted by 2 hostesses who informed us that there were going to be not one but two back to back private parties that evening and the main room as well as the entire upstairs were all reserved for those, so we were welcome to stay as long as we didn't mind being restricted to the bar area. It was pretty full but definitely not overcrowded, and a table was leaving right then, so we decided to stay.
I went to get us a couple of drinks from the bar while we waited for our table to vacate and the bar service was slow - too slow for the number of people sitting up there (it wasn't even full). There was only one bartender working and there probably should've been two at 8pm on a Thursday. I wasn't even acknowledged and just stood there for about 5 minutes. When I finally got our drinks and went back to the table we were expecting a waitress at some point. Ours was in the back or on break and no one told her she had a table! And there was only ONE other waitress working (who ignored us) - two servers is definitely not enough for a place this size.
So, we were not off to a good start. We sat there for at least 20 minutes and no one even acknowledged us. We were actually just discussing where we should go instead when our waitress rushed over to us, totally apologetic, and explained what happened. We decided to stay and placed our order. I noticed that she didn't write anything down, which made me recall a previous review where the waitress didn't write anything down and then everything was wrong. Our expectations were not high. Well, not only did she get everything right, but our food came out in literally 5 minutes flat!
My friend got the burger, which I tried a bite of and was surprised by its tastiness. Would def recommend the burger. I got the spicy tuna on crispy rice, which was good, but at $9 for 4 pieces just go around the corner to Katsuya and pay a couple bucks more for the real deal that will blow your mind. We also got the chili cheese fries, which again were good, but the chili (beef & black bean) was pretty bland. Go across the street to Big Wangs for this instead - their chili is made with brisket and has a kick to it. Way tastier. For dessert we got the warm chocolate chip cookie a la mode, which was yummy - but it's pretty hard to fuck that up.
The crowd was very odd, but this may have been due to the two private parties. One appeared to be for some sort of hip hop label and the other was for some new MTV show that looks exactly like Jackass but is not Jackass.
Basically, the only reason we would return to Capitol City is our waitress - if not for her we would def not be back. She took excellent care of us, brought my friend a free shot and comped a shit ton of our drinks for his birthday. If you decide to come here despite the mostly horrible reviews, ask to sit in Silvana's section. She said she usually works Thurs, Fri & Sat. -

I went here last night for their last night in business. Their mixed drinks were good but not too strong. They offered free food for the night as they were clearing out their kitchen. I was really surprised how good their macaroni and cheese was. I'm disappointed that they are closing because I would have loved to have gone back here. We were informed that they were closing for two weeks for renovations to reopen as a cantina.

Pros:
- Big screen for watching sports
- Televisions everywhere
- Nice seating
- Good food
- Friendly staff
Cons:
- Noticed that some of the televisions were not in sync with each other. I'm sure they could fix that.
Found this place by accident. We were going to go to Big Wangs for the Lakers but they had a private event going on so we walked a bit and noticed a huge screen playing the game. Staff is really nice and the food was good. It wasn't busy at all so I'm not sure how it's like when it is busy. I'll have to go back again. -

Parking is horrendous so just prepare to valet. Otherwise, this is a very nice place. Great atmosphere and if anybody knows me, they know I love flat panel TV's and CC has them EVERYWHERE! :-)
I also like the private little patio area out front and the modern seating. Looks like the owners spared no expense in making the place appealing for modern times. Kudos to them. I went for a movie screening and it was a great place for it. I wonder what it's like as a club? I guess I'll have to go back on the weekend.

This was a fun place to gather with friends and catch up. It defied the traditional sports bars where sports memorabilia usually line the walls and darts/pool tables abound. Instead, there were hard wood floors, glass doors, and more modern decor in terms of furniture.
A huge projection screen was @ the back of the main dining area. And on the way to the bathrooms, which were on a path behind the screen is another outdoor bar with flat screens and cute little enclaves for small groups. If it weren't so freakin cold that night, we woulda been outside. There were also TVs in the ladies room so you could stay posted on the scores while you freshened up! -

Very cool spot to hang out with your boys & not the ones with no money because a burger, fries & 2 heinekins set me back a little over $27. Not counting the tip $ the $50 parking ticket I got literally one minute after I walked in the door it was so not worth it.
Now don't get me wrong, I like the place but it is way overrated. The seasoning on the fries was more for looks than taste & my burger fell apart in my hands after first bite & it wasn't really that big.
If I were rich I would look to have a wing of my house look like this, since I'm not it will be rare that I go back but if I can scrape the cash together I will. -

Love me some CapCity!!!
Great atmosphere and great place to watch sports with a group. I don't go there for the TVs and the fancy seating though...I go there for the FOOD. The cripsy rice & tuna appetizer is my favorite thing on the menu. I've introduced it to so many people and everyone falls in love. A MUST!
I got the veggie burger there last week and was impressed with the quality. It wasn't just a heated up garden burger but a house made burger with quinoa and brown rice. Quinoa! On a wheat bun. Wheat!
Although I wasn't impressed with the service on my first visit, I've had much better luck these past few visits. So far, "Silvana" has been my favorite...quick service, friendly, and she made some great recommendations on what we should order. :)
I take one star off for prices. While most of the food is reasonably priced for the quality...the drinks are bit pricey for me. I've been dying to try one of their delicious-sounding specialty mojitos...but I can't bring myself to drop $13 on a drink at a sports bar. Yeah yeah yeah...UPSCALE sports bar...but still. GREAT beer selection though.
Definitely give it a shot next time you're in Hollywood. It gets especially busy and fun at night. And order the crispy rice and tuna...and ask for Silvana! -

Space - Great.
It's a beautiful space. Bi level and open. They have the main cabin, the outdoor patio, a private room upstairs and seating along the balcony overlooking the central bar area. There must have been over 15+ TVs all huge. All in HD. It's the sport's bar of your dreams.
Service - Crap.
The service was pretty shoddy. REALLY shoddy. In fact, 25 minutes in with no one even coming to take a drink order or give us a menu, I was contemplating on leaving. Luckily, the manager made an effort. It's not his fault his waiters are incompetent. He told the busboy to buss the shit out of those tables over there, put more paper towels in the bathroom AND told our waitress to take our order it one walkthrough. And he sincerely apologized for the wait which was nice.
Food - Generally crap with one highlight.
We ordered the calamari which was rubbery and the sauce was heavy. The fish and chips which was really fishy and cooked unevenly. One piece I had was awfully hard and chewy while another tasted fine. The redeeming food item was the mac and cheese. It was fantastic. Pasta shells, bacon, green onions and mushrooms = all my most favorite things in the world. Mmmm.
The drinks are delicious but I question how much liquor is in it cuz I drank two huge cup fulls of vodka lemonade and I didn't feel a thing. :-/
I finally realized why it was OK for them to give us crappy service (or ignore us completely) when we got the bill and notice that they automatically tip themselves 20%. Mind you, we were a party of 3. Whatever.
Patrons - Be white, graduated from college 6 years ago but still secretly enjoy beer pong, fratty, loud - one or all of the above.
Nothing against the bar itself but when your only redeeming value is your mac 'n cheese. It's not the greatest incentive for me to go. Besides, I don't really like partaking in delusions and tool academy rejects believing that this is anything more than their version of a "matured" college frat scene.
I'm ultimately not a bro. or a bro's gf and I don't wear clothes that used to be trendy in 1998. If it's any help or gauge of audience, Brody Jenner and Jayde would LOVE it here. Heidi and Spencer would think these people are losers, Lauren Conrad would pretend to like it in a passive aggressive way and roll her eyes at the 1998 fashion rejects and Kristin Cavallari would love it cuz she's like the female version of a bro. She, like, totally loves burping, beer and sports dude. Of course you do. -

I went to Capitol City to watch several World Cup matches, including some that were at 7 a.m. The menu was pretty limited at that time and not too great but the place made up for it.
A high end sports bar it definitely is. Great furniture, plasma screens all over the place, topped off with a giant projector screen on the first floor.
The 2nd floor has VIP areas, with U shaped couches and a plasma for each. Best place for groups to watch games together.
Although breakfast wasn't too great, we were there for a lunch game too and the food was much better. Definitely on the pricey side.
I'm a bit disgruntled that their website says they accept reservations but when you call they say they do not. A busy sports bar like this, should not rely on 'first come, first serve'. That doesn't allow for loyalty to be built between them and their clients. I can't always schedule 2 hours to be at a bar in advance for busy games. That is the one draw back for me...it's a big one. -

Sports bar? Really? A friend and I rushed over here to find it hosting a charity event that looked more like a movie premiere. When we asked if we could go in, we were told it was a charity event for Haiti but anyone could come in with a donation. We would have happily paid the donation but we came to watch a game and when we looked in, all of the TVs had a logo on them, no sports were being shown even though the Cavaliers were playing the Celtics? (The door people weren't exactly selling us on the event either) I am down with charity events but I'm not down for part-time sports bars who sometimes want to be Hollywood glamour. Either you're a sports bar that broadcasts sports all the time or you're not. Don't make me show up at the door to figure out what kind of place you want to be tonight.
I'd still like to try this place and will update if I ever get back there. Hopefully they can settle their identity crisis. -

If you like waiting 1 hour and 30 minutes for a refill and to get threatened by the owner to be thrown out for simply complaining about it, then by all means come here ! ! !
btw stay away from the pizza, the crust is made out of card board
and the waitresses... omg dont get me started on them. as you can see in other 1 star reviews, although they look good they are dumber then a box.
- cocky owner
-dumb waitresses
-this place makes hooters look good

This place suffers from a bad case of identity crisis, it's as if there are two owners; one wanted a sports bar and the other one wanted a trendy Hollywood cocktail lounge.
It wouldn't be such a bad concept if they at least figured out how to design the seating. The first table they tried to seat us at had 20 seats and we would have had to eat our mediocre food with a bunch of strangers, thanksgiving style... If thanksgiving was about mingling with people I don't give a sh** about. The next table only had chairs on one side of it, so we ended up eating dinner like we were in a love seat. It's not a bad place to bring your date if they normaly refuse to same side booth sit with you, hopefully it's not me, I don't do ignorant stuff like that.
The tv's were also all on the same channel, well guess what Capitol City, not everyone wants to watch the Lakers over the Winter Olympic hockey games that only play every four years.
They have a decent selection of beer and it's not overly priced, but miller light is a $1 more than budlight, which confused until the beers we ordered arrived 10 minutes later... Were quickly drank and not refilled again until our food arrived. In fact we only saw her twice the entire time we were seated, she may have been the only waitress in the 100 seat bar though.
The food was served on a square plate, which was interesting seeing as how nothing else that was occuring around us fit inside the box. The food was ok. Oh, except my chicken sandwich came out medium rare. Gross.
Overall I only gave it a second star because of the amount of televisions and the fact that my sandwich did come with a salad. -

So I've been here twice...first time during football season to watch a game...GO CHARGERS!!! and the second time was just two days ago for St. Patrick's Day.
So the first time it was a very hot day and we were sitting upstairs watching the game. Instead of having air conditioning on, they had the giant window/wall open letting in more hot air with no breeze. It was stuffing and I was sweating just sitting there. Plus the wait time between beers was a little too long if you ask me. Needless to say I was annoyed. But the owner came up to us and said he loved me for my enthusiasm toward the game and since he was cute it made the experience better.
Second time the seating a little strange, and the waiting staff not too quick. They are seriously lacking employees. Plus I had to tell the waitress 4 times that I wanted to close my tab as she kept providing drinks to the table next to us and "Kept forgetting" to bring my card back. Annoyed once again, and this time no owner to make it better. But the sweet potato fries were pretty damn good.
The place definitely needs more employees or at least faster service and waitresses who aren't so forgetful! -

As a female sports fan, I've long talked about a superior sports bar. One with plentiful TV screens, a menu with offerings that range beyond the deep fried and comfortable seating that your bum doesn't stick to.
Don't get me wrong, I frequent dive bars and consider myself somewhat of a dive bar connoisseur with a penchant for beer.
With a muted and modern color scheme, cushy chairs and food that is actually pretty tasty, Capitol City pleases people who just want to watch the game (with it's many TVs) or gawk at waitresses (with their cute staff), but more importantly, it provides a posh haven for the new breed of sports fan - the females who love sports just as much as they love a good martini and a pair of Manolos.
It's casual enough to show up in jeans and a pair of sneakers, but posh enough to wear a dress and heels. I had a few of the pizzas here and they are all quite good. Thin-crusted, but crispy. Their sweet potato fries were yummy, although I would love if they served it with honey mustard. Ketchup just doesn't jive. The servers were very nice and attentive. Prices are reasonable with some domestic draft beers at $4.
All in all a good break from dive bars or a great place to see a game with a date.Listed in: Westside Watering Holes

Food was excellent, may have been the best turkey club I've ever had, I regret not ordering the sweet potato fries, they looked and smelled amazing.
Service: Bad. Waitress took our orders without writing anything down in a very noisy room. Tip to waitstaff, if you're going to try this, you better nail everyone's order 100%. Not writing down our order is 75% of the time a warning sign that we're going to have problems and instantly sets me in a negative frame of mind. Anyway, sure enough, 1/2 the orders were wrong, and when my brother-in-law asked where his salad was he got a long winded explanation about how the menu reads incorrectly. What? Not his problem lady, just bring him the salad.
Interior is really nice (with the exception of the cloth chairs with huge stains on them), and the bagillion screens were great to watch the games.
I'd go here if I really wanted to watch a game and didn't mind putting up with their bad service. Like another reviewer said, their screens make up for what they lack in customer care. -

I've done the standing thing at Capitol City for playoff games, superbowl and the finals hoping in vain to get a table but no more. I decided to plan ahead this time. I remembered the many flatscreens at this place - superb for watching games. But I could not remember why I hadn't gone to this place in almost a year.
I have been trying for the last 2 weeks to reserve a table to watch the NBA all-star Saturday night and all-star game at this place. Called 4x and each time the person took my number and said "oh the manager will call you back" or it was the manager and he took my number and said "I will call you back". That never f*%#ng happened! So, for pure punishment I called again a few minutes ago. The 'manager' that answered the phone had the balls to tell me that NO they don't normally take reservations except some Sundays and that NO, they were NOT going to be busy that night (!) so I will have no problem getting a table! If you have ever in your life been to this place on any major sporting event night you know damn well that place is overflowing with people and you will NEVER be called for a table. I had to laugh when he told me that blatant lie.
Oh and it gets worse. I asked for a table for Sunday's All-star game and I get this reply: we can take your reservation but if someone comes earlier than you then they will get your table. HUH? Then that isn't a muthaf^&%in reservation then is it! I have never in my life heard of such a backward-ass policy.
Now I remember why I don't go here in anymore. Well this being LA, I'm sure another incarnation of this same concept will be opening up soon elsewhere. -

Capitol City opens just in time for B-Ball season.
With it's huge screen dominating the room, and many regular screens scattered about, I'll be able to see Lamar Odom's gloriously bald head blown up ad infinitum as we get continual updates on his brilliant marriage, and he manages to squeeze in a few rebounds and no-look passes.
I can eat reasonably well while watching highly magnified beads of sweat roll down huge toothy faces. Not just cheesey nachos. Actual food. Delicious tuna tartar on crispy rice. Frat boys stay back. Big Wangs is down the block. Boundaries. -

What can I say but WOW. I freaking love this place. Where the hell
did it come from? My friends told me to that we were meeting up to
watch the undefeated Saints play at a sports bar on Cahuenga so I just
assumed they meant Wangs. Ladies and Gents, Capitol City is not Wangs
by any stretch of the imagination. Don't get me wrong, if you want a
frathouse experience with a bunch of obnoxious drunkards spilling
beers on you, then by all means go Wangs. If you want a classy place
to hang with your friends while cheering on the Saints, then it's
definitely Capitol City.
We got there a bit late (around 6:15pm) and the place was packed.
Luckily the nice hostess found us a cabana in the back patio. The
back patio is freaking huge and the cabana has its own huge plasma in
there. Kelsey was our waitress and she was excellent considering she
had like 100 people yelling at her for food and beers the whole time
we were there.
The food was really good and priced reasonable and you can't ever go
wrong with Blue Moon on tap so I was happy. All in all it was a great
experience and I will be back. Capitol City is an amazing addition to
Hollywood and I for one will be back many times over.
