I could go on for days about how great this beach is but I have to admit my review is a little biased. My aunt and uncle own a house on Beach Road and I've spent most of my summers there..on the private beach. :) But I have made the long walk down to the public beach many times.

The public beach is really nice, sometimes there is trash here and there but for the most part it is very clean. There is a basketball court along with a couple volleyball courts which are always full of people. There are many restaurants and other services nearby. And access to freeways are also very close. One downside to this beach is it can be very rocky at times. This makes it difficult to do any skim boarding, and boogie boarding and surfing can be dangerous. The public beach opens daily at 6:00 AM and closes at 10:00 PM. It really is a beautiful family friendly beach. There are also really clean bathrooms and there is always plenty of parking. With this beach being nestled between two cute little beach towns one day of exploring is not enough. Rent a house on Beach Road grab a beer and walk down the beach.

Nice beach to view the water, but I don't see myself running on the beach at this location.  Rocks, rocks, and more rocks.  It's impossible to run around the rocks.

Capo Beach is the small little community nestles in between Dana Point to the north and San Clemente to the south.

Super easy to park...they have metered spaces in lots in which you can park between the hours of 6am and 10pm...and plenty of restrooms to utilize if your gun-shy about getting in the frigid Pacific to tinkle during winter months! lol Plenty of showers and picnic tables as well. Wonderful beach for sittin' on the sand and for surfing...

Capo's one of those place you can go in the evening and chill on the beach since it's a simple and quick walk from the lot.  Also great in that there a few hotels and restaurants sprinkled just on the other side of PCH from the beach...including Olemendi's Mexican restaurant (highly recommend!).

Highlights on the beach include a bike path (great for rollerblading to and from Doheny State beach to the north) and lots of volleyball (so bring a ball...or a Frisbee!).
