We got married last June (2010) at Taber Ranch in the Capay Valley, and booked out the whole Capay Valley B&B for our wedding party. It was perfect for us because the Ranch is literally about a 2-minute drive away, and many wedding guests stayed at Cache Creek which is less than 10 minutes away.
We had an absolute blast staying at the B&B. Because we were the only guests, it was very relaxing and we all got to just hang out by the pool and visit the whole weekend. We took full advantage of the hot tub and the beautiful grounds, and everyone said they had a great time. Elizabeth is so great about making sure your stay is super comfortable and relaxing--and she's a great breakfast cook too!
We loved staying there so much that my new hubby and I went straight back there a day later to spend a few days by ourselves just lounging around. The owners are very nice and are the perfect mix of friendly and fun to chat with without being overbearing or disturbing your time there. We were lucky enough to have the whole place to ourselves, and we did nothing but play scrabble, read on the porch, sunbathe, nap and swim...loved it!
The cottages are my favorite but all the rooms have lots of space and amenities. Not sure if the tortoise is still there, but he was there last year and did us the courtesy of happily eating our roses left over from the wedding. There's also a nice hike out into the meadows and hills behind the B&B...very pleasant walk.
We're so happy we found this little spot--hope others can enjoy it too! -

Very clean bed and breakfast just down the road from Cache Creek. Owned by a very friendly family. Elizabeth serves a wonderful breakfast which is included in the price.
I've been here twice - once in the Wild West Room which is easily accessible from the side door and last time, I stayed in one of the two cottages on property.
The cottage had a mini fridge, microwave, nice shower, 2 rooms with a bed and TV/DVD combo in each.
Lovely flowers are everywhere. There is a solar heated swimming pool, a nice gazebo, picnic area and lots of farm animals.
Good value for the price! -

We stayed in the Wild West room. Yup, that's right the "Wiki, Wiki Wild, Wild West" room. Themed rooms...interesting. You can also stay in the Mission, Patriotic or English room. Or go all out and opt for the Dog House or Cat's Meow cottage.
The room was decent enough though. It was even equipped with a DVD player, I don't typically need one, but it was unusual. Plus, expect a complimentary afternoon snack and beverage. They used to have breakfast but I'm not too sure about that anymore.
The grounds could use a little work but what can you expect from a little establishment completely ran by a couple...or maybe it was just because it was spring. The wife was nice enough, didn't get a chance to meet the husband. It really seems like she does everything she can to make your stay comfortable.
Note: this bed and breakfast is the closest thing to Cache Creek Casino without actually staying there.
