I last used Canterbury Media Services a little over 2 years ago. However, since I constantly recommend them to my friends, I thought I should write a review.
I'm a graduate student in the sciences at UC Berkeley and Canterbury is basically a lifesaver for printing research posters. They have incredible customer service, very reasonable prices, and can do same day printing. My experience with these guys has been fantastic and I've heard similar experiences from all the people I have recommended them to. Highly recommended. -

Perfect experience with no issues.
I printed an academic poster for a Department retreat.
I sent my poster at 9am, and got it at 12pm same day.
They have a thorough and intuitive online uploading system that lets you specify a format (PowerPoint 2003, 2007, pdf, etc.) to avoid issues.
They send a pdf file so that you can check before they print the poster.
Printing posters here is cheaper than at Kinko's and other competitors.
They have great customer service. I got a phone call after starting my profile because I took a while before sending in my upload.
Even if you don't have a car, you can take the bus to pick up your poster. They can also ship the posters.
The final printed poster looked great!

I had a fine art print done here after a print by a different company failed (color was very incorrect).
Art (Argyris) printed it in no time right on the spot and the price was even less than the other place.
I've worked with several fine art printers before, and I know that a good printer knows how the printout looks like before printing it because of the experience and also the fine tuned computer monitor that is matched to the printout color temperature.
People in this company know what they are doing. This place was recommended by someone who knows that I am very fussy about colors on fine art prints. -

Call me the great procrastinator...I needed slides for graduate school applications and was putting off getting one shoddy slide redone until this week...and I need to have the slides in by next week. My wonderful bf found this place in Berkeley where you upload your picture to their website (from photo-shop) and they make slides for you at a very very reasonable price. I just got it Fed-Ex'd today (one of the shipping options) and the quality is great! I paid sooo much more for images to slides before and this place is fast, reasonably priced, and if you are a procrastinator like me and need them quickly, it can be shipped out super fast. I will definitely be using them in the future, or until art schools stop wanting slides!!
ps...Their website says they do other stuff too: "We are a corporate imaging center specializing in trade show graphics, event displays, scientific poster design and printing, and fine art Giclee printing services."

I used Canterbury to print an academic poster. They are very fast and have fantastic customer service; single day turnaround is guaranteed if you're there by 9am and in my case I went in later than 9am and the poster was printed in under 20 minutes -- they said that this was faster than usual.
They aren't open on weekends. -

Very professional and friendly staff, not to mention their speedy and quality delivery of prints. I have used them consistently to produce the past two sets of company (MedImmune) posters (both 48x72 on easy fabric material). I admit I was doubtful of this easy fabric material, but I was glad that I tried, the material was good and had a very professional and lasting look to it. Also, if you are traveling, it's sure easy to pack.
The staff (especially Art) were very friendly and helpful. They usually do next day fedex delivery or if you are really rushed, they will do the print same day and you can usually pick it up in 2 hours. Trust me, I know, because I did it and they kept their words and delivered on time. I was super stoked.
If your company does not have an internal printing facility or if they give you the option of doing external print, then definitely consider this place. Great service from a nice bunch of folks.
More than 5 stars in my book. -

I've printed several large scale poster presentations here and had them ship it to various states on tight deadlines every time. Art and his team were always extremely helpful, quick, and gave us the best finished product from all the other printing vendors we've used. And additionally, they have very reasonable prices.
The customer service is top notch... Art was always on top of everything. I never had to worry about the usual tricky color issues I had with other printers. He seemed to keep a memo of our recurring needs. When shipping, I was promptly provided with a tracking number for my shipped posters. And my package always arrived as scheduled.
The organizers at one of the national conferences we attend annually recommended them for poster presentations. I've used them since, and have never thought about switching to another printing vendor. I'd gladly recommend them without any reservations. -

Occam's Razor exemplified. Easy processing, phenomenal customer service, top notch quality (perfect colors!)... all in the least amount of steps and time. Their service is intelligent and thoughtful. It is obvious that Canterbury Media Services takes pride in their business, their customers and their deliverables. To sum this up... WORRY-FREE SERVICE.

Art and his team are professionals. They care about the job they do & want you to be happy with their work. I emailed one file to them & Art called to say he wanted to fix something in the artwork....he did it, with my permission, and it looked MUCH better. He is a perfectionist but lovely about it. Great to work with such great people.
