Can't speak for their froyo but their smoothies are bomb!
I was looking for a restroom on a late night and they were the only store with their lights on in the immediate area. They were very welcoming from the get go and I knew I had to patron them as gratitude.
I just wanted a drink since I flushed about a gallon of "water" into the toilet moments ago so I choose to order a smoothie. But little did I know, they were actually making one of the best smoothies ever. They use real fruit and are quick. I believe I got kiwi, strawberry, and blueberry? But you really can't go wrong here with any flavor.
Basically, this place is a store done right: great staff, great food, and great location. -

Driving down Hollywood Blvd after a subpar meal at Roscoe's, I was looking for some redemption in the form of fro-yo. Cantaloop's sign shone like a beacon in the cold cold night. I was afraid of the parking situation, but the whole lot was empty to my surprise, as was the store.
We took our time as we sampled each and every flavor. The best ones were the Tart and the Red Velvet. Thats two out of ten flavors. Anyhow, I think the best thing here is massive selection of toppings. They had raspberries, blackberries, little spheres that popped in your mouth, and a whole plethora of sweet dealios.
I really enjoyed the Red Velvet topped with mochi balls, blackberries, and peanuts. Other than that it was pretty forgettable. -

My friend and I stumbled upon this place while walking down Hollywood Boulevard. Like any good Yelper would, we Yelped it, saw that it had four and a half stars, and decided that a fro-yo break sounded like the perfect idea.
I'm not entirely sure why this place has four and a half stars though. Maybe I'm just spoiled by BerryLine in Boston, but I found Cantaloop's frozen yogurt to be quite disappointing. The fruit flavors in particular were just too tart. Really, they were sour. The cheesecake fro-yo seemed promising, but I tried a sample and it really just tasted like a slightly richer vanilla.
The one thing I do like about Cantaloop is that it's all self-serve. You can sample as many flavors as you want first, and then choose your flavors and toppings. But I was disappointed even further by the mochi, which really just tasted like some flavor of gummy bear.
All I have to say is this: west coasters, there is far better fro-yo to be had! Come to Boston! Or go to Pinkberry. -

Walking down Hollywood Boulevard craving a cup of tart, frozen deliciousness, my friend and I happened upon Cantaloop. We knew it was a frozen yogurt place based purely on the typeface of the logo (what is it with these yogurt places and their singular style of pastel branding?), and a quick Yelp search revealed that it had 4 1/2 stars. Sold.
Cantaloop is self serve, which I enjoy, but the variety of toppings and flavors is limited, and the quality of the yogurt is subpar. The strawberry lemonade is incredibly sour, while the peanut butter is surprisingly burnt-tasting. It takes a lot to mess up anything peanut butter (at least in my mind), so needless to say, this was a huge disappointment. My friend and I wanted to try something new while we were in L.A., but we should have just stuck with Pinkberry.
One positive thing to note--there's outdoor seating, including a pair of comfy-looking couches. I say comfy-"looking" because my friend and I didn't get a chance to try them out. They had been commandeered by a couple homeless men who didn't look like they were going anywhere anytime soon. -

RUN.
I went yesterday for the first and only time, and while I was there a filthy homeless man, who was high as a kite, came in. The guy behind the counter gave him a free sample cup and the man took it to the yogurt machines.
HE THEN PROCEEDED TO PUT HIS MOUTH AND HANDS ALL OVER THE NOZZLES OF SEVERAL MACHINES.
I was so grossed out, and told the guy behind the counter what happened. He took a dirty rag and ran it across the machines, then went back to work.
Only go here if you want to contract hepatitis. -

This place is just blocks from where I live so I tend to go whenever I get a craving. They have a pretty decent selection of froyo flavors, and the smoothies are great.
The outdoor patio area is a nice touch, and that's where I usually sat to enjoy the treat.
They now serve Boba, but I have yet to try it. -
Review from Katie B.
Yes, their parking lot is terrible and you'd rather sit through one of those time-share seminars than try to navigate a way in, but boy do they know froyo/soft serve. Their flavors change pretty regularly (try the strawberry lemonade sorbet when it's available), but they are all quality. They don't taste like a vanilla base with some kind of sweet syrup swirled in like some other places. Their toppings selection is tiny but juicy (mostly fresh fruit) and they have a wall of syrups you can drizzle on your bowl of icy wonders.
They also have boba and while it is nice, their ice for the over ice drinks is so large and in charge that it makes enjoying the boba a little hard. And it's the scooped out middle type of ice, so pieces of boba actually get stuck in the cubes.
Regardless of their few hangups, I will risk a dent in my filthy auto for a chance at a spoonful of their tasty yo.Listed in: LA's Fro Yo, You Don't Know Fro, Yo, Bobalicious

Stopped by Cantaloop for a couple reasons last week:
* We like frozen yogurt, and Cantaloop happens to be located on Hollywood Boulevard where we'd planned to spend some time on Sunday.
* Had printable Entertainment coupons for Cantaloop. Since I was with my mom and boyfriend we were able to take advantage of both a buy-1-get-1-free coupon and a 20% off coupon.
Very good frozen yogurt, though there were fewer available flavors than I anticipated. I served myself up a big refreshing bowl of plain tart fro-yo and some sort of citrus/orange fro-yo and really enjoyed my chosen flavor combination.
Outdoor seating areas--often, I find, having a color palette of white and pastels or neons--are undeniably trendy at frozen yogurt shops, but Cantaloops's dedicated outdoor chill area is particularly nice. There's both a covered and uncovered section, and the magazine spread is an appreciated touch.
Big bonus points for the small shared parking lot!
Also noteworthy is the fact that the Walk of Fame begins directly across the street on the opposite corner of Hollywood Boulevard from Cantaloop.
Would return here in a pinch the next time I find myself in the area. -

Wow! I love this place. They have delicious frozen yogurt and smoothies!
The seating is outdoors and is quite nice. It would be great if they would add a couple of folding chairs inside, but that's just my opinion.
The staff is extremely friendly. The boba is delicious! I've been to other places which have chewy tapioca balls, similar to boba, but they have been flavorless and not good.
But Cantaloop's boba is delicious - so when they ask if you want "Boba" in your smoothie, definitely say yes!
The selection is very nice too!
Cantaloop is perfect for those sunny, hot days in Hollywood. -

three words: i heart cantaloop!!! They change the froyo flavors all the time which makes it great to taste all kinds of flavors. They also have BOBA! The boba is always soft.
btw...the restroom is clean and they have free wi-fi!!! :) -

This place is pretty good for fro-yo. I only like fruity flavors when it comes to frozen yogurt so I wish they had more of a selection, but the orange flavor is really good. They also have a good selection of toppings which is always fun.
This place isn't decorated all cute the way Pinkberry is but in my opinion their flavors are much better (obviously more important). ;) -

Fuuuuuuunnnn!!
Cool flavors with lots of fresh toppings and syrups that you can drizzle and frizzle allll over your frozen yogurt. I personally liked the pomegranate flavor mixed with their original. What made this spot super cool was the option to put your yummys into a waffle cup instead of a regular cup! hahahha .. maybe i've been deprived but i thought that was super cool beans! -

Mango Yogurt w/ Mochi is my favorite.
The selections are amazing as well as the toppings they offer. As soon as you walk in they offer sample cups for you to sample the yogurt.
The staff are friendly and the price is just right. Actually too low if you ask me. Not sure how they stay in business.
*Parking is limited.
They give discount if you work near by so that is a plus! -

I came into this self-serve froyo spot and first thing that came to my mind was how much this place resembled Menchie's. Not just the fact they're both self-serve froyo but in the overall design and look of the outlets as well. There's only 8 taps and to my surprise, no sugar free flavors. That caught me off guard.
The gal at the counter must've been some out of work Hollywood actress. She seemed so disinterested and bored and couldn't have cared less about her job. At this point, I almost thought about leaving but decided to try the yogurt anyway.
I stuck with the basics and had a cup of chocolate and the consistency was excellent. Good and thick and not too liquid-y. The chocolate flavor was very strong and for a chocoholic like me, I was happy to see that. I find it a little more expensive per ounce than Menchie's so I don't know if I'll be back anytime soon. However, if I am at an event on the Boulevard and need a froyo fix, I'd rush right back here. -

Cantaloop delivers fro-yo in my preferred method: self serve. You can choose your size, flavors, toppings, and sauces - you can mix and match and create concoctions to your fro-yo lovin heart's conent. For fro-yo virgins, this is the place to go. The toppings are nearly endless - my favorites are the mochi and the mango juice boba balls (little balls of mango juice, YUM!). Cantaloop will satisfy chocolate lovers and health nuts alike, highly reccomend.
My only issues was that the mango and peach flavors tasted suspiciously alike ... did someone mix up the syrups? -

i like this place. the ol' faithful yogurtland has more flavors. but it has more options than pinkberry. toppings are about the same, and it tastes pretty dang good. i will say it was hotter than hades in there and the door was open, so heat+open doorways+sweet smelling fruit usually attracts some unwanted critters. jussayin'
i will say it beats other fro-yo joints b/c of the cute little patio outside. couches are way too comfortable if you need to be productive on a hot day, b/c youll def want to take it in ;)
service was...standard i guess. not rude, not slow, not friendly, not super quick. strong a-ok in my book

I come here all the time. Awesome frozen yogurt (and I don't even consider myself a fro-yo fan) and I love the milk teas with boba.
Staff always is friendly (except the chick with the bad half black/half blonde dye job...she's always rude and miserable -- hence the 4 star rating rather than 5 -- but luckily the rest of the staff is really nice which makes up for her).
Yay cantaloop :) -

Not as good as pinkberry, but as far as frozen yogurt goes, it's cheap! Flavors are pretty delish and they let you try as many as you want before you choose, so that's awesome. I got what I thought was a pretty decent amount, and it only came out to be $3, and it was really delish. They have a punch card too - I'll definitely be back.

Review from Cate T.
So close to work, Cantaloop SHOULD get frequent visits from me, but it doesn't. It's not because it's bad (it's not bad at all), but I'm always afraid I'm going to walk out with their one-size cup overflowing! it's going to happen some day, and I will faint from trying to consume so much!
Cantaloop offers a number of flavours of froyo for you. If you wanna try a tiny sample of one, ask for a couple sample cups at the register and vend a bit into each one to try.
Today, I tried their Red Velvet Cake froyo. You know what? It is surprisingly NOT BAD. I don't know how I feel about it, but it's not digusting. Load it with some candy and sweet things, and you may have a winner.
However, I always love the mango froyo. It's always so good. After that, I'm a fan of the Original Tart.
Today, however, I stepped out of the box and vended three types into my cup: Original Tart, Pom-Raspberry, Strawberry Banana.
What can I say? I was feeling a bit fruity. I topped it off with sliced strawberries, blueberries and a couple cherries (they still have pits in them).
The strawberry banana definitely still has that banana texture that gives it a thick creaminess to it, and the pom-raspberry is surprisingly yummy! It's like eating a melted popsicle. Downside: POM-RASPBERRY MELTS TOO FAST. That's my only gripe.
Cantaloop saved me when I needed to wash the taste of an unpleasant lunch from my mouth, and it's refreshing on a warm sunny day! -

FROYO FIGHT NIGHT
History is filled with rivalries...Hatfield vs. McCoy, Capulet vs. Montague...and now Pinkberry vs. Cantaloop.
It was a close fight, so let's go to the judges' scorecards:
Flavor: Tie
Cantaloop's original isn't as good as Pinkberry's, but the Mango, Blueberry, & Pomegranate are very good.
Texture: Pinkberry
I found Cantaloop too firm and (I know this sounds crazy but...) too cold which actually muted the flavors for me on my numb tongue and forced me to take a break to avoid a brain-freeze. Pinkberry has a smoother, more airy feel to it.
Portion: Cantaloop
Sometimes I get this hole in the middle of my Pinkberry swirl which leaves me feeling ripped off. No problem at Cantaloop with their generous portions.
Experience: Cantaloop
No line out the door, friendly staff, an efficient store layout, and no retarded sign banning you from taking pictures.
Je Ne Sais Quoi: Pinkberry
(I don't know what it is..maybe because when I go into Pinkberry I feel like I'm living inside of an iPod...)
And the winner by decision is....
CANTALOOP
but it was so close...I'd better go again tomorrow to judge the rematch :)Listed in: Top Restaurants

I don't understand why the ratings of this place are so high! The first page of reviews that are visible have some really low ratings, I don't know how it averages up to 4.5 stars.
The flavor is pretty much non-existant. The only good part about this place is that they have some more "exotic" toppings, I think we might have had lychee? There's a tiny little parking lot up front but it might be hard to get to if you're not on Hollywood Blvd heading west.
Bottom line: Not worth it. I think CeFiore tastes way better and it's just down the street.

After having read all the glowing reviews I was PUMPED to get some of that yummy pomagranite froyo. So i walk up to the counter and announce, "I'll take a Single Loop of your famous pomagranite yogurt w/ a topping of fresh lychee and granola."
The really nice clerk says, "I'm so sorry we don't have pomagranite today. There was a problem with our distributor......(blah, blah, blah)."
DOH!!! Needless to say, didn't hear anything more after that.
Insert sad / angry face here _________.
So.. I ask, "What else do you have?" Thinking of course, after all the hype, there will be nothing that could possibly make me happy again. But, lo and behold, after devouring my single loop MANGO froyo, with fresh lychee and granola, I was once more a happy camper.
Insert happy-happy face here. _________. Yay!!!
Can't wait till next time.. .and dammit, their distributor better get his sh*t together! Otherwise... someone's gonna catch one of my famous beatdowns. heee-hee.. just kidding! -

Yummy!! It was a hot day in Hollywood and just coming from traffic court in L.A. (ugh, don't remind me), this was a way to "wind-down" prior to my trek on the 101 on home to the boonies.
I chose the double (?) loop of mango. Man, it was so refreshing as the temperature was in the high 90s and this completely helped me cool down. The mango tasted just that, it wasn't too tart, or overly diabetic coma sweet. Just right. Like others have stated, it's not cheap, but overall, I would say, quite good/decent for what it is. Now, will I go insane and buy fro-yo all the time? No, but I will make sure to make a stop here if I'm in the area.
This store is located in a really small shopping center, not too far from the hustle and bustle of Hollywood Blvd. Be prepared to look for parking numerous times, as it's the worst!! The lot looks like it's made to only park smart cars, so, if you find a spot, you're lucky. Parking is a crap shoot. -

Review from Kai L.
This place is just a block or so away from where I live, which is irrelevant except for the fact that I want to brag that I live on Hollywood Boulevard.
Or am I really "admitting" that, instead of bragging?
Anyinsecureway, what I really mean is that I live close by, and so I've been here regularly.
Like, twice-or-thrice-a-day kind of regularly -- that's as often as I have meals in a 24 hour period (!)
And guess where I have my meals? (No, not in your pants, smarty... pants...)
A disproportionate number of what should be my nutritious, nourishing sit-down sessions are instead squandered in consuming empty candy calories at Cantaloop.
And I'm not a bit sorry -- for now, anyway. Ask me when I'm sixty (If I make it there) and my answer may be different -- more wrinkly, too!
Cantaloop is addicting! Like watching Gilligan's Island in your underwear while you phone your boss that you're sick kind of addicting.
And there is NO rehab for it, either!
If you're like me, you've done the frozen yogurt thing TO DEATH by now, and aren't at all sick of dying daily.
Frozen yogurt is GOOOOOOD...
But how "good" is Cantaloop?
It's better than Pinkberry but not quite as good as Yogurtland, Yogotango or Yogurt Stop -- but then you knew that already.
Or maybe you disagree with me and would really like to slap me.
(Get in line, honey)
Cantaloop will make your mouth happy, make your hands climax repeatedly as you pump your own yogurt and slather all manner of odd toppings on your dish of au-natural soft serve, but make your wallet feel a bit indifferent -- Cantaloop's a bit pricey compared to the super-value you get at Yogurt Stop.
That having been said, going to Cantaloop is really fun, and cathartic at the same time.
You really find out a lot about people, based on what they drizzle on their yogurt.
Yeah, that pretty red-haired chica over there in the Chanel sunglasses who's putting rainbow sprinkles on her mango-flavor?
-- She's OBVIOUSLY a fashion design student.
...
... Okay, I cheated. I only knew that because she's also carrying a tote that says FIDM.
Cantaloop's location is pleasant but a bit noisy, like a subway train station, except above ground. So, I suppose what I really mean is a regular train station. The employees are friendly -- they won't even blink when they see you've got enough toppings on your yogurt to sink Japan into the ocean.
So go NOW, you hot young heartbreaker, and have a nutritious meal!
(By which I mean, get some frozen yogurt, and call in sick.)
Gilligan's on, and so now the clothes
come

So I had to try out this place since it's only a few blocks from my apt and I was obviously craving froyo, but I have to say I was a little disappointed. The price per ounce isn't bad, but I tried at least 4 flavors: original, chocolate, blueberry, and red velvet. Nothing to sing or rave about. Even their original didn't really taste original, if that's possible. I felt like I was eating diet frozen yogurt. HA! Their toppings didn't look very appetizing either. I guess I'll have to stick to Pink Berry which is also near my apt. I'm still a fan of their original!

I have come to the conclusion that Kyle Minogue was not singing about a stellar male speciman with her obnoxiously catchy ditty "Can't Get You Out of My Head." While Cantaloop wasn't exactly open when her song was a hit, and she does reference a "boy" in the song, I am still fairly certain that she had Cantaloop's tart blueberry, pomegranite, banana and other yogurt flavors in mind when she sang, "Your loving is all I think about."
I have never been one to harbor serious addictions. Yes, I drink exorbitant amounts of tea, stock dark chocolate in my desk drawer and cabinets like I am preparing for the big earthquake, and pine for unavailable men who will never love me back, but I've never had a true addiction. Nothing cool or trendy or worthy of a stint in the Wonderland Rehab Clinic. It's really unfair. I could use a weekend away at the spa! Fortunately, after ingesting my small blueberry/pomegranite small yogurt with mochi and strawberries ($4.60) on Saturday, I finally may have found an addiction worth living for.
The combination of the tart, FLAVORED yogurt with the sweet strawberries, and marshmallow-like mochi was a thing of miracles. My dear friend, in town from Philly, could not stop raving about her banana one (also with strawberries and mochi), and we both finished our hefty portions with the gusto of small children at an old fashioned ice cream parlour. It was bliss. As was the stellar service by the most lovely lady who gave excellent suggestions, and even steered me away from the raspberries (a bit "tart" at the moment). She loaded our cups up witih yogurt and toppings -- no measuring or weighing here my friends! And there is a "People Love Us on Yelp" sticker in the window! I'm thinking of bringing her a new sticker that reads, "Diana H. Loves Us on Yelp, on a Train, in a Car, in a Plane, and Sometimes in Rehab."Listed in: Frolicking in Frozen Dairy…

If there was a froyo street fight between Pinkberry and Cantaloop, the Loop would win by a KO.
I had been so insistent about not going to any Pinkberry imitators for so long but after reading the reviews for Cantaloop on Yelp, I finally took the plunge. Now I have a reason to make the long trek out to Hollywood! Let me tell you, it's a big effort to drive out to Hollywood from the Westside.
I went to Cantaloop thinking that it would pale in comparison to PB. I was totally wrong. First of all, the service staff were very friendly. They offered samples of all three flavors: Blueberry, Mango, and Plain. They get 5 stars just for the stellar service. Secondly, Cantaloop has more toppings than PB offers, such as lychee, granola, dried fruit, and other healthy options. Thirdly, the staff at Cantaloop didn't act like the topping Nazi (excuse the term) police like the staff at PB do. They piled on the toppings I chose, as opposed to carefully measuring the exact amount of topping like they do at PB. Various times, I've seen PB staff get berated by their superiors for providing me with "extra" topping, even as I am standing there. How rude is that? Finally, the froyo is cheaper and more plentiful than PB. My favorite is the blueberry flavor.
I should have tried it sooner!
**Update: Went to Cantaloop (again) after watching Transformers at the Arclight. My new favorite flavor is now Pomogranate The owners are very appreciative to their Yelp reviewers. It's nice getting feedback from business owners about our reviews. -

Move over Pinkberry there's a new fruit in town.
I was so excited to see a new frozen yogurt spot pop up in my neighborhood, I missed the traffic light while I sat in my car as I gawked in disbelief at the bright orange sign that said Cantaloop.
I finally stopped by today and not only was the yogurt totally refreshing and yummy but the employees there were so friendly, and helpful. Cantaloop has 3 different selections of fro yo (phshaw to Pinkberry's 2) plain, mango and du da du daaaa....POMEGRANATE. They have a selection of fresh fruit and dry toppings. The prices are totally reasonable, I walked out of there with 1 scoop of plain and 1 scoop of pomegranate (my fave) with mango topping and it came to $5.14. The shop is CASH ONLY so stop by the ATM before you visit. The parking lot is small but there is also street parking very nearby. I will definitely be back again and again. -
