Finally.....my long overdue review of the gallery/studio of my friend Richard Stephens.  
Cannery Row Studio, Richard's live/work space, is located just down the street from my house.  Last evening I went to the opening of one of the best shows Richard has ever put on, in my opinion (see photos).  Of course....I am partial to photography.  

Richard hosts & curates shows almost monthly.  In fact, he is a tireless, long-time promoter of the arts.  He works with kids painting murals as part of an LA city grant program.  Richard's own murals are to be seen in many places around South Bay, including Harmony Works shop in Redondo as well as several local schools.  

Richard's own paintings are colorful and passionate.  He is featured in the book "Palos Verdes Peninsula Artists", an autographed copy of which adorns my coffee table.

I don't know where this man gets his energy.  I pass the studio frequently, and there is always some interesting project in the works.  Richard is friendly & welcoming, always takes the time to chat with me.
He gives local artists opportunities to show their work at Cannery Row.  The gallery space is amazing.....an industrial building from the early 1900's.....unique to say the least.  

So...thanks to Richard for his countless contributions to the arts, and for the many good conversations we've had, and for all the great parties at Cannery Row.  
Art enhances our lives.....and so does this artist.  Well done.
