This place is a great value! We've been a few years in a row now, and I would pick this place again. It's a very nice motel, and if you are planning to spend most of your time at Disneyland, then why not save a few bucks and stay at the Candy Cane Inn? Seriously, yeah, I'd love to stay at a swanky hotel, but when all I need is a clean bed, shower and some food, I can save a ton by staying here.
The free park shuttle is a great bonus, along with free parking for your car. The breakfast is pretty carb-heavy, but hey, it's included and will get you going til lunch. The pool isn't huge, but it's got enough shade around it to sit and watch the kiddos cool off, and pool towels that aren't teeny postage stamp-sized. I've always had great customer service on check in/out, and the rooms are clean and cool. If you are a repeat guest, you get a $10 off certificate for the next time you stay.
High reviews from Trip Advisor led me to try out this "luxury hotel" (that is what they market themselves as believe it or not!). It sounded great and had very reasonable prices.
I would call this a nice motel. But certainly not a luxury hotel?!?!?!?!
The room itself was a standard motel room with semi-decent wifi access free of charge.
In terms of the free breakfast - you get what you pay for. It was fairly lame with stale "bagels", strawberry cream cheese, a few fruits, some dry cereals, etc. I skipped it after the first day to get a proper breakfast elsewhere.
Alas - when something sounds too good to be true, it is.
If they marketed themselves as a nice motel it would be a lot more accurate!

Stayed here 3 times so far. This place is a charming motor lodge. What makes it a stand out is the excellent customer service, cute grounds, and their private shuttle to the park. We've stayed in all 3 levels of rooms and our favorite room so far was a regular room. I think the location of the room was what made it ideal.....near the pool, near a nice table to eat breakfast. The differences in the room quality were indistinguishable at least to me. The premium room we had last time was beautiful but located at the back of the hotel which made the jot to the shuttle with 4 kids a bit of a pain. Breakfast delivery for the premium room was a nice touch.
The walk to the park is easy. There are lots of stores nearby. We'll be back.

I adore this hotel. My group of 4 friends stayed here last week on a trip to Disneyland and we had a blast at the Candy Cane. I would 100% recommend getting the premium room - getting breakfast delivered to our room every morning at our choice of time was really convenient, and the late check-out (2pm) on our final day made things really easy. The location is beyond stellar - the idea that you'd even take the shuttle is absurd - it was maybe a 5 minute walk on a nicely landscaped Disney sidewalk to get to the park entrance.
Proximity to good restaurants was great too - a 15 minute walk to Buca di Beppo was great, but there were plenty of good ones much closer too. Across the street is the Anaheim Gardenwalk mall which has great food and a nice movie theatre.
Back to the hotel, though - the other amenities rocked as well. Microwave and fridge in-room was amazing, and the front desk staff was wonderful with advice and even offered coupons for nearby restaurants. We loved checking out videos/DVDs for free as part of the premium room deal. We never hit the pool but it did look nice, although as twenty-something girls it was a bit crowded with kids, great for families I'm sure.
If you need shuttle transport to/from Candy Cane from nearby airports, it was only $8 per person with Advance Shuttle, which was also prompt and polite.

Although, this place had great reviews on Yelp and Trip Advisor, I was still a little worried about staying at a Inn or a Motel type of place since my experience in such a place has been less than great in the past. Candy Cane met our expectations and more!
They pretty much located right next door to California Adventures. The Inn is also a short walk to the Anaheim Gardenwalk if you wanted to go watch a movie, do some light shopping, get a bite to eat, or just to pass time.
We'd arrived to Candy Cane Inn about an hour before our check-in time, so we decided to see if they'd let us check in early. We didn't even have to ask actually...We just well...checked in and wah-la we were in our room. The first thing we did was tried to get our the internet (internet addict!) since they offered Free WiFi, but the connection in our room was pretty on and off. I gave the front desk a ring to see if they could fix the WiFi connection problem. They called me back shortly and notified me that the room we were was between two access points, so unfortunately they couldn't do anything about the shoty internet connection, so they upgraded our room to a bigger room which had better internet connection. Free upgrade!! Score! And they were totally awesome about it.
The place itself has reminisce of a motel but they have some beautiful landscaping and the aroma of the place is quite nostalgic with a charm all it's own. I believe all the rooms are double occupancy. Makes a great money saver if you are coming with family or friends. Their pool area is quite small but it does the job, and the water isn't freezing, but actually quite warm! Very nice.
Ever morning from 7am to 9am they offer free breakfast stocked with juices, pastries, cereals, fruits, and all sorts of other breakfast goodies. Great way to start off the day. Also, they have free shuttle service to and from Disneyland/California Adventures from about 9am to 830pm. It's totally walkable since it's on the same street as the amusement parks, but who wants to walk more than they have to after walking around the amusement parks all day, right? Our last night of stay, we decided to go to Downtown Disney, and the shuttle driver was about to call it a night but he was nice enough to drop us off at the shuttle drop off area, and they were totally awesome every time! So don't forget to tip them here and there.
We stayed here 3 nights and 4 days. Our room had all our belongings thrown all over the place, but everyday our little piles were left undisturbed but our towels were cleaned out and replaced with new ones, trash taken our, and our bed was always made. Awesome.
Great stay all around!
I think I'll be staying at Candy Cane Inn whenever I make a trip to go to Disneyland/California Adventures from now on. =)

Tonight I found myself enthusiastically telling somebody about this place where we stayed 4 years ago and thought, "why didn't I write it up on Yelp"? Well, they didn't have Yelp then, or did they?
A trip to Disneyland involves complex logistics. It is expensive and you will be figuring ways to get the most for your money. The obvious choice for convenience is to stay at a hotel inside Disneyland but crikey, the cost! Candy Cane, which was enthusiastically recommended by elementary school friends in SF, is a smart alternative.
Everybody in the hotel is there to go to Disneyland. This is helpful because you can exchange notes on waiting times for rides etc. And though there is a regular shuttle it's pretty easy to walk. The room amenities, pool, continental breakfast are fine as the other reviewers have said. Bottom line, this is a safe saver's choice for your stay at Disneyland.
The Candy Cane Inn is the only hotel we ever stay at when visiting Disneyland.
The staff at the Candy Cane Inn are always so welcoming and go out of their way to engage with kids who are obviously super excited to be visiting Disneyland. The pool is clean and inviting and the breakfast is just what our family needs before heading to the park for the day.
The price is reasonable and you definitely get excellent service and fair accommodations. We wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else and consider ourselves to be loyal customers.

It's just so darn cute!
As we pulled up to the Candy Cane in, all the girls couldn't help but let out a big "awww..."
In unison too.
And, of course, the guys rolled their eyes and still couldn't get over the fact that they were forced to stay at a motel that had anything to do with Candy Canes.
We arrived around 11:00am - a good 3 hours before check in - and went straight to the front desk to see if there was anything they could do about our luggage while we headed over to Disneyland. The woman at the desk greeted us with a really nice smile and offered to take all 8 of our bags up to a room that was already cleaned; that way we could go to Disneyland for a few hours and come back to rest without having to lug our bags up to the 2nd floor room!
What a relief (:
So we dropped our things off, headed to the park, only to return about an hour later thanks to the earthquake. Damnit that earthquake is like a thorn in my side...
Thank God there was already a room ready for us before our initial check in or it would have been a long wait out in the sun.
And by sun, i mean it was super hot. And by super hot, i mean it was like 79 degrees max. But I'm from San Francisco and I have a very small comfort interval when it comes to temperature.
After stepping into the room, I was relieved that 1. The air conditioner worked. and 2. There was a refrigerator to put all of our waters in. The beds were big and comfortable - we got two queens - and the only problem we had was that we paid for a roll away cot and it never came (we had a room with 5 people).
So...my brother volunteered to be the one to sleep on the floor. Kinda ew even if the Candy Cane Inn did look exceptionally clean. And it was probably really uncomfortable too but he isn't the kind to complain much.
The staff brought us an air bed - which was flat within an hour or so - in their attempt to rectify the situation. Still kinda crappy but we weren't charged for it so *shrugs*
Although I have to be honest and say if I was the one who had to sleep on the floor, I'd be kinda pissed...
We paid $333 for two nights, 5 people, two queens and an air mattress. Not bad at all considering there's free 'breakfast' - college student breakfast: cereal from a dispenser and muffins, bagels in a basket - and a free shuttle!
The Candy Cane Inn will probably be our regular go-to motel whenever we go down to see Mickey and friends; I can't wait to go back!!
Maybe next time, there wont be an earthquake to ruin half the day either.
Can you tell I'm bitter? Ugh.

I love the Candy Cane Inn and always stay there on my numerous trips to Disneyland each year!
First of all, the grounds are gorgeous and so well-maintained. Flowers are always in bloom and are all over the place.
The staff has always been kind and accommodating. The rooms are just as charming as the grounds, and are always clean. The shuttle is also an amazing feature when you've been walking around the parks all day long.
They also have one of the best complimentary continental breakfasts I've ever seen-- bagels, toast, cereal, oatmeal, fresh fruit, pastries, and assorted beverages.
The best part about the Candy Cane Inn is that you get much more than you pay for, and that's never a bad thing.

This is a fine place to stay if, like me, you're coming to Disneyland/California Adventure and want a clean place to rest your head at night and take a shower. I would have loved to stay at one of the Disneyland hotels, but they are way too expensive! Candy Cane Inn is definitely steps above a motel, but it is not a standard hotel either (no robes, pretty artwork, nice shower products, etc). It is a 15 minute walk to the parks main entrance and a shuttle is offered every half-hour or so. The front-desk people were courteous and helpful and had no problem giving us our parking pass early so that we could start our day at the park and return for check-in "anytime after 3." We had to wait 10-15 minutes when we arrived back at exactly 3pm, but it was no big deal.
Upon entering the room for a late afternoon nap, I was taken aback by a strong chemical smell (cleaner?) that required the windows be opened for airing out. It didn't bother the SO, but I am sensitive to smells and it gave me a bit of a headache. We were in the room directly next door to the maintenance/laundry room - so I could hear every conversation and spin cycle they were doing in there - this was irritating at 7 in the morning. Also, being on the first floor, kids were running by our window early to go to the complimentary breakfast in the main lobby - also pretty annoying. Apparently we were given a handicapped room because the toilet seat was extra large and raised and there was a stool in the shower - slightly odd, but as I stated earlier, the point of this place was to have a place to shower and sleep in between 2-days at the parks. The bed was comfortable and the room adequately sized.
There is nothing 'candy-cane' about this place save the pens in the front lobby - not sure why it's named so! I received a coupon for $10 off my next stay, good for one year. $105 for a king bed.

I love staying here. It's clean, the service is good, and the continental breakfast is excellent... the best continental breakfast I've had on Harbor Ave for sure.
The free shuttle is an awesome service this hotel offers... the majority of the hotels don't have them (they use the general red ones employed by Disneyland). It leaves on every half-hour, I believe. Anyone taking off stars for not making the shuttle is being kind of sheisty. If you can't be bothered to make it on the half hour, that's YOUR problem. Not everyone on the shuttle who made an effort to make it on time wants to wait for all the last-minute types. Either sit and wait for the next one, or walk. It's not that far. But don't complain just b/c you were the one who was late... that's not the shuttle driver's fault.
For the price, this place is a great, snug little hotel to stay. At night, the grounds are lit up with white fairy-lights (particularly pretty by the pools)... it's almost like an extension of Disneyland. The rooms are a bit on the smaller side, but if you're one of those people who don't care to spend the majority of their time in the hotel room, then it won't matter.

My family and I stayed here during our Disneyland vacation. The hotel is just a short walk away. They do have a free shuttle service but we did not use it as the walk was that short.
They do have a continental breakfast with a good variety of things like fruit, pastries, cereal, bagels, coffee and juices. It is not just donuts and coffee.
The room was nice. It's not huge but it's not small either. For one day, we had to sleep 2 adults and four kids in the room. My wife, 4, yr old daughter and I slept in one bed, the twins slept in another. The oldest had to sleep on the floor. We could have gotten a roll away but it was for only one day and we were broke from our time at Disneyland.
The only complaint would be the parking. The handicap parking is not clearly marked and I accidentally parked in one one night. I didn't realize it was a handicap parking spot until the next morning.
Being our Anaheim home away from home when we're visiting the mouse, we stayed at CCI last saturday. Room was clean as usual, but service was off a bit. The room wasn't ready in the am, but we don't really expect that, so no biggie. Checking in later we had to have them rekey the door as they only had one key and who knew where the other one was. The in-room safe was locked and wouldn't reset, so the valuables got put into the car when we returned to the park for fireworks. And the shower never got hot. Tolerable yes, but not hot.
We love this place and will, of course, return.

We stayed here in March of 2007.
Pros- the breakfast is the best along Harbor Blvd. The beds are comfortable. There is a 7-11 and convenience store next store. They have two pools. They do offer their own shuttle and those that drive it were so nice to me with my baby and stroller and helping me on and off the shuttle. We found that it did leave when it said it would. The grounds are beautiful and there is plenty of parking.
Cons- the rooms are a little smaller than we have stayed at along Harbor Blvd. There was no room to put our clothes. The fridge does not have any setting control on it. Our water bottles got cold after being in for 24 hours. Housekeeping had until 4:00 to clean the room. We did not know this and came back to take a nap at 2:00. They wanted to come clean and we told them we were sleeping and could not do it then. We then had housekeeping call us and ask if we needed them to clean and we explained the same thing to them.
Our philosophy when we go to Disneyland is that the place we pick is just to sleep. We still have not found a hotel that we would stay at over and over with. Unfortunately Candy Cane Inn falls into this category. We found it too hard to juggle our time to try and make the shuttle. We found it more convenient to just walk across the street. The walk is not that bad, but it is longer than we would have liked with three small children.

We really enjoyed the Candy Cane Inn... Although the price may be a little steep, it really IS worth it in the long run for the free continental breakfast (rather spend the money on some good food at Disneyland!), the shuttle to and from the Park (definitely worth it when you're exhausted or just dying from the HEAT), and its location (near everything - who could ask for more?).
My husband and I kept saying to each other that we wouldn't mind staying there again. The standard room was perfect for 4 people, but we wouldn't mind upgrading on our next trip for a deluxe - just to see what that's about. :)

Stayed here and celebrated New Years at Disneyland. Location of this hotel was great. A very short walk to the Disneyland entrance, but after a full day of rides and waiting in line, I still end up taking their free shuttle back to the hotel. Price is definitely reasonable and they don't charge you for parking like some hotels do. The only complaint I had was about their internet reception, which hit rock bottom. But, you most likely stayed at this hotel to go Disneyland, so doesn't really matter.
Great place to stay! The price was reasonable considering it was a half mile walk into the park. I was attracted by the ratings from other visitors but skeptical considering many had families. I rarely give a 5 star rating and try to reserve them but the staff went the extra mile for us. I was concerned about the Beds and air Conditioning. The Beds were VERY comfortable Double pillow Sertas. The Bedding was also good quality clean and well taken care of. I was surprised because usually Motels don't seem to have such attention to detail. The AC was fully operational and quite. Had my Girlfriend not been with me.. I probably would have gotten eight...hours of sleep. What really impressed me was that the nightgown accidentally left behind was shipped to Pennsylvania where my girl lives after we called lost and found. Danilo, the executive housekeeper, wrote us a note that said "What lost is now found. We are happy to say....We'll look forward to serving you on your next stay :-)" Its nice to know that a place that serves so many visitors can be so thoughtful and sensitive This was a sentimental article so it meant a lot. This will definitely be the place I stay on my NEXT visit to Disneyland....
We stayed here on our way through LA. We were basically looking for something cheap, clean and safe. We picked this place predominantly because of cost (~$118) and it is listed as # 2 in the ratings by http://tripadvisor.com.
Don't expect the honeymoon suite here. It's a motor lodge. Having said that, perhaps it was our expectations but we were both very pleasantly surprised. It is cute, clean and well maintained. Little things like the cobblestone drive and shutters in the room windows (instead of those big awful curtains) are a nice touch. Even though it's next to DisneyLand (we're not going) and there are quite a few kids around, we didn't hear any noise at night such as doors slamming, kids yelling, neighbors etc. It was all nicely quiet.
The free breakfast is decent. It was nice to see that the continental breakfast wasn't just donuts and coffee. We had bananas, oranges, raisan bran and bagels. And we got to eat it on the nice little patio next to the pool.
The rooms are clean and current. They are comfortable without trying too hard. And I actually like the pink tile in the bathroom. A nice little perk was the free wi-fi (hotels that charge extra for wi-fi are completely suspect).
I think what I appreciated most about this place is that it didn't feel like yet another business hotel. It's cute, quaint, clean, friendly, comfortable. I'd stay here again.

Has no one else really ever reviewed the Candy Cane Inn? It's definitely one of the best cheaper alternatives to official Disney hotels. It's an independently-run motel about a 15 minute walk from the main entrance to Disneyland and California Adventure (on the same side of Harbor Blvd as the parks).
We've always found it to be friendly, clean and well-run - the rooms are a cut above basic motel rooms, and the continental breakfast is decent (and enough to get you going, plus you'll want to snack in the parks anyway). They have a shuttle that runs either once or twice an hour to the parks, but unless you're exhausted (or have little kids in tow) it might be easier/quicker to walk.

I just stayed here with two family members for a long weekend trip to Disneyland. It is literally right next door to Disneyland, so location-wise, it can't be beat. They have a free continental breakfast every morning with a good selection of breakfast items. The room was clean and well stocked. The staff was friendly. The bed was comfortable. We used the shuttle to/from DL if it happened to be leaving when we were, but really, The Candy Cane Inn is so close, it's not a big deal to walk. The bar soap for the shower smelled great. The landscaping involves very pretty trees (they were just blooming when we got there). Nothing about this place was over-the-top amazing, but it was a pleasant place to stay for the weekend. I would have absolutely no problem going back

Friendly front desk. Clean room. Easy parking. No problem leaving car in lot for the day after checkout. Easy walk to Disneyland. Paid a third of what a Disney hotel would have cost. Bottom line, great value for price paid. Go.
We stayed here on a trip to Disneyland, and loved it! We had two conjoining rooms, and they both felt so homey. :) The rooms came with a fridge, and a microwave, if I recall. There was, of course, complimentary coffee, a hairdryer, etc. It is close to the park, and the shuttle comes by frequently and on time. The complimentary continental breakfast was surprisingly good for a motel, and their little breakfast set-up was great (it was all set-up right by the pool). It is really closeby to restaurants such as Morton's Steakhouse and Buca Di Beppo's, as well as a nearby Target. I definitely would not mind coming here again; it has to be, hands down, the best motel I have ever been to while on a trip to Disneyland.
