This is one of my all time favorite MidWesten Fine Dining Experiences. I have eaten here right around a dozen times since 2004. I live out of town, but have a condo on Table Rock lake here in Branson, so I get to the Candlestick at least twice a year, and have spent my last two wedding anniversary dinners here.
The atmosphere is top notch 10 of 10, with the beautiful view of Tanycomo and the fire/water/light show coming from across the lake at the landing.
The Bar 9 of 10. Everything you would expect with a vast wine selection and a decent selection of beers(for a fine dining establishment)
The Service 9 of 10. They would probably get a 10 of 10 if they were anywhere else but Branson. Not that the service elsewhere is better, but servers here are used to giving a very professional performance for shat tips from time to time, being in a tourist town that focuses on old peoples money and tips.
The Food 10 of 10. Between my wife and I we have probably had everything on the menu. Never had a bad meal there. The Cheese platter for and appetizer is one of the best I've ever had. There is always a couple of Chef's Specials, and the couple of times I ventured out and tried these, I was blown away by the execution of the plate. Food cooked perfectly, Great flavor combos on the plate and the presentation of the food is exquisite. While it is fine dining you are served much bigger portions than you may be accustom to at most 4 and 5 star eateries. -

I so wish I could have eaten here. This is exactly my type of spot: 1) old school 2) smelled fantastic 3) awesome patio with view and 4) old neon sign. I just missed last call for food so I enjoyed a drink.

Well.. I made reservations ahead of time, when I arrived with my husband, the table was not ready and they were not busy.
We sat outside for dinner...overlooking the water...lovely. The food... $12 for a salad that barely contained a cup of food is ridiculous. Not to mention it was bare bare bones what was in the salad. Literally 10 pieces of lettuce/spinach/arugula.
The meal cost $77 and I left hungry... so I'm not happy and told the next 5 people I met in Branson to pass it by!
When you want big bucks for a meal...serve some food...don't be stingy. -

I've tried it over the years about 4 times. Haven't been back since 2007

I'm glad to see that someone finally reviewed this longtime Branson landmark. With the addition of The Landing on one side of Lake Taneycomo, and Candlestick Inn on the other side, the good view is now spectacular. This is one of the most upscale restaurants in the vicinity and they do have good food and service. I object to the a la carte pricing for potatoes etc. but you go here for ambience in a celebratory mood, so guess you have to pay for that!

After hearing bad things from people who haven't stepped foot into the place for 10+ years, we were blown away. Great specials, huge shrimp, beautifully cooked elk, great atmosphere and staff. Yes, it is a little pricey, but it is not somewhere you go twice a week for a quick bite. Highly recommend.
