It was one of the best getaways we had and Candlelight Inn made it perfect. Beautiful surroundings, family atmosphere, excellent breakfast, knowledgeable and attentive personnel - there is nothing we can say that we didn't enjoy!
Thank you so much to Carol for suggesting La Toque and Greenhous Spa, it was great!
It was a pleasure staying at Candlelight Inn and we will definitely be back!
A fantastic little bed and breakfast. We were only there for one night and so we didn't get to enjoy the lovely pool and garden area. But it was exactly what a good bed and breakfast should be. Very helpful and friendly staff, lovely rooms that are all unique, and a delicious breakfast that changes daily. The poached pear starter course for breakfast was delicious.
We stayed in the candlelight room, which was the original master bedroom. It is a beautiful room that is relaxing and quiet and makes you feel like you are someplace special. It would have gotten 5 stars except that the bathroom in this room feels like it could use some updating. Otherwise, there was not a single complaint.
We actually liked that it was in the middle of neighborhood so that you didn't get any car noise from any of the major roads that so many of the b&bs are off of. And everything was very clean and well cared for.
Overall, really excellent value and we were so happy staying here. We will definitely be back.
This is my first review on Yelp, though I've been checking reviews here for a few years for restaurants and hotels.
I was so pleased with my stay at the Candlelight Inn that I booked for my boyfriend's birthday. We're pretty mellow, and just needed a nice place to stay after a day of wine tasting.
I mentioned in an email that BF is gluten intolerant, and they made a very impressive breakfast for him. The same delicious recipe of caramel banana pancakes we all ate, but bought the flours he can digest to make the dish, and made it up special for him. And they made a lovely egg dish special for him as well. My man loves a good breakfast so we were so happy.
The hot tub in the room was perfect. The bubble bath is kinda insane with the jets turned on. In the morning, there was a coffee service right outside the room with good coffee and tea, and a friendly fat cat:) So much better than the regular coffee service, even in fine hotels.
The service, staff, and everything were perfect. Sam was wonderful with making sure his guests has a great stay in Napa. This inn is really friendly, warm, and well managed. I'd recommend.

I booked Candlelight Inn based on the reviews from Yelpers and was very happy with it. I must admit I was a little scared though because it was our first B&B experience and I didn't want it to ruin my new years! But now I am so glad I did. It was such a great experience. Way better than a hotel and way more relaxing and it felt really homey.
I agree with all the positive reviews from other Yelpers. I thought Candelight Inn was great. Although yes they are in a neighborhood and it was a HOUSE but isn't that what all bed & breakfasts are???? Small little Inns converted from homes that were renovated.
Candlelight Inn was really cute and people there were very friendly. There were little snacks served throughout the day and a 3 course breakfast is served in the morning with orange juice, coffee, tea options of course.
I certainly had a great time there with my bf and breakfast was GREAT. Quantity was more than enough and it was made from a normal kitchen! It felt soooo homey and relaxing. I wasn't bothered that the pool was not heated during winter time... I mean its Napa! Go wine tasting! You can swim anywhere else!
We would be going back again and oh price was just great.

Wendy and the crew at Candlelight do their darndest to show their guests the sweetest hospitality this side of Napa Valley. Tucked away in a suburban neighborhood, the CLI has a huge pool, romantic dining area and hot tubs in every room.
Very, very romantic. Perfect for anniversaries, birthdays and newlyweds!

People should research what a Inn is before they go and then have to write bad reviews on here.
We went to Napa for a hot air balloon ride and chose to stay in town for the night. Candle light inn was very nice to let us stay there for one night, almost all nicer Inns make you stay there for two nights.
When we arrived we were greeted with a big welcome and showed around, everything was really beautiful and charming. What caught my eye is how clean and sparkling everything was.
The pool outside was amazing, with big padded lounge chairs and a little garden with benches.
Our room was more beautiful then it was pictured online. We stayed in the Vista room, both of us fell in love with it. They had chocolate waiting for us and made sure to turn on the air conditioner so when we arrived it was nice and cool, it was about 105 degrees outside.
reading other reviews I see that people don't know how to use buttons to turn on and off heaters LOL
The staff was amazing, everyone seemed to bend over backwards to accommodate us. We went downstairs to see if they could make us reservations at a nice restaurants, but I really wanted to sit outside. When he came back he told us that he called the Bayleaf restaurant and that they were setting a table, just for us, outside in their beautiful wooden garden gazebo. I am glad that Candle light Inn has great pulls at nice restaurants.
I have been to many hotels, but this charming Inn had to be our favorite, we will be back.
Please dont let the pictures fool you. The house.....yes its a house....not an inn....is in the middle of Napa.....not tucked away in some remote vineyard somewhere. Its actually located at the end of a dirty cul-de-sac.
I went there for Xmas eve....can they roast us alive in there? The heater must've been set in the high 90s. The pool wasnt heated...so that was useless....the House was so over-stuffed like your grandmothers house....and Mary?? the innkeeper was a bit shabby in welcoming us.
Im sorry but Im only giving 2 stars....coz the jacuzzi in the middle of the bedroom was phenomenal.....the complimentary wine-tasting was very tasteful....the bathrobes were sooooo soft.....and they had the fattest cat I've ever seen!! Im SO not a cat person....but this fat furball made me like cats a little.....just a little. haha!!
Approx $150-$200 per night.

I really love B&B's. It would seem strange that someone like myself who is somewhat antisocial and generally finds the company of strangers to be awkward (I like to be comfortable and by comfortable I mean I like to scratch myself and I feel all self conscious about it with a bunch of looky-loos all silently judging me) but I appreciate the homey vibe and usually friendly staff.
Like a lot of B&B's The Candlelight has a kind of "Grandma's house" aesthetic. There's lots of nice old furniture and and stuff you feel like you shouldn't touch. Chocolate cake is available at all times and like Grandma's, there's wi-fi and a communal computer in the common area.
We stayed in the namesake Candlelight room. It's their swankiest room and I'm first class all the way so naturally, we booked this room. Also this particular getaway was on someone's else's dime so that helps too. It's a beautiful room with a high peaked ceiling, a stained glass window of, you guessed it, a candlelight and an electric fireplace that for the life of me couldn't figure out how to turn on. It was probably for the best. It also came with a LCD TV, a Wii and a shower equipped with a steam bath. The steam bath was especially intriguing to me which, within a ten minute period, goes from unimpressive, to extremely relaxing, to oppressive and tortuous. It's not like that kept me from firing it up any chance I could. Is there any better way to start your day than with a steam bath followed by a couple of frames of Wii bowling? I think not.
This is a little off topic but does anyone else feel compelled to "do the nasty" while staying in a rented room. I actually find the term "doing the nasty" pretty distasteful but when comes to sex with me, oh, it's nasty alright. Did I mention that I'm first class? I digress.
From what I've heard The Candlelight has a rep in the Napa area for their breakfast. It was indeed very good. Fresh fruit drizzled with honey, followed by banana pancakes swimming in carmel sauce (which was surprisingly light) then a beautifully cooked fritatta of artichokes and cheese. The coffee is quite good too.
So if you're in the Napa area and you need a nice little getaway you can certainly do worse than The Candlelight Inn. Just refrain from scratching yourself in front of the other guests 'cause that shit ain't classy, dude.

My husband and I came here for our mini-honeymoon. It was the first and only B&B we stayed at. We stayed in the Starlight room. It's a cute, nicely decorated place. I really liked the fireplace and two-person spa tub. The owner, Wendy, was very friendly and welcomed us into the B&B like it was our home. Chocolate cake, cheese plates, wine, and iced tea are available at all times. You can help yourself.
A three-course breakfast is served until 9:30am everyday. I wasn't too happy about getting up early, as I like sleeping in. But the breakfast was to die for! I happily got up the next day, eagerly awaiting a delicious breakfast. The breakfast nook is a well-lit room with individual tables for couples.
We didn't go into the pool but we did relax in the patio near the pool enjoying our cheese plate and iced tea. Their cat, Fluffy, was laying nearby. He's a very laidback cat. He wanders the grounds but is not allowed to go into the guest rooms.
It was a bit pricey (average for B&B's) but was worth the splurge. It was a nice little getaway. Even though we were only 1.5 hours away from home we felt like we were so far away. We enjoyed our time here.

Oh my, the Candlelight Inn....
Let me first start by saying that if you enjoy the bed and breakfast thing, then this is your kind of place. It doesn't get much better than this in the B & B arena. You are greeted by the innkeeper who is willing to do anything to please and has taken care to make sure every detail of your stay is enjoyable. There were truffles and champagne waiting in our room when we arrived. There is mint iced tea, wine, cheese, homemade chocolate cake and cookies available whenever you need a quick afternoon and midnight snack. The place is quiet and the room comfortable. There have wireless internet available.
And the breakfasts are to die for. Three fulll courses every morning served at individual tables. I still miss waking every morning to fresh berries, french toast with caramelized apples, and chili cheese quiche. Yummmm.......
Unfortunately, this 4 day stay made my husband and me realize that bed and breakfasts are just not our thing. We don't crave that sort of intimacy on vacation of staying in someone's home even when the host has anticipated our every need. We don't really feel the need to socialize with other guests. We're not antisocial and love interesting conversation, but this place was just a little too close for comfort. There are only 10 rooms and most seemed to be filled with honeymooners who seemed to also be a little awkward in this environment.
However, if you like the bed and breakfast thing, you will LOVE this place. It is truly a hidden gem tucked into a tiny cul-de-sac.

As the holiday season approaches, I am reminded of this wonderful place. My husband and I were here last year in December and what an awesome way to start the Christmas holiday.
I'm not sure what it's like during other time of year, but with all the Christmas lights and decoration, we felt like we have arrived at one of the most romantic spot on earth. Words can not express how it felt when we first arrived to the inn. It was that beautiful!!
Our room had it's own fireplace and jacuzzi. Needless to say, nothing beats cheese and wine while you are sitting in the privacy of your own tub. Everything felt so warm and cozy. It was all perfect.
The innkeeper was extremely gracious and kind. If you need anything, she is there to help you. If you want any recommendations for wine tasting, just ask.
In the morning, you can enjoy a wonderful sit down 3 course breakfast. Delicious french toast with fresh fruits. Yummy....
Last but not least, the fat, friendly cat added even more personality to this wonderful place.
We will definitely come back and will continue to recommend this place to those seeking a romantic escape.

Staying here was romantic, relaxing and elegant.
My husband and I had never stayed at a B&B before - and were kind of wary of what it would be like to stay in someone's house and eat breakfast with the other guests - would it be forced interaction? We're hermits - it was a leap of faith (based off of other Yelp reviews actually) for us to stay here instead of some upscale hotel.
It was the best decision we could have made for our anniversary.
The service here was excellent, we felt pampered and they had excellent suggestions of places to eat, things to do etc - and made all of the reservations for us.
The breakfasts were amazing, ample, and awesome. At first - waking up before 9:30 in order to make it down to eat upset me a little - I like to sleep! But the smell of breakfast cooking would get anyone up in a moment's time.
The breakfast nook was a room of individual tables - if we wanted to chat with the other guests it would have been easy and comfortable - we did not, however, and didn't feel like the outcasts for that.
Any time you could come down and grab a snack from the kitchen - a glass of wine - a cheese plate, some cake..
The bed was so comfortable - the room was big, the jacuzzi was massive, and there was a fire place!
I could go on, really.. we will be sure to visit again, and next time i stay in a hotel I might die a little inside...
OH! and the cat! Fluffy! He's awesome.

Still our favorite. My wife and I have been to so many in the course of our relationship, but Candlelight is always the standard. We celebrated there years ago. Awesome service. Great cozy rooms. We have to go back.

Ultra-romantic and cozy! We stayed in the Majestic Room with a fireplace and jacuzzi. It was (like other reviewers ) our first time at a B&B and we were a little wary of the whole "staying at Grandma's house" vibe, but it turned out to be great. True, the house did smell a little like your grandmother's potpourri, and there were little china figurines and paper doilies decorating every nook and cranny, but it didn't seem to bother us as much as we thought.
This was our mini-honeymoon and Wendy, the owner, made a cute little card wishing us a happy honeymoon and had two mini bottles of chilled champagne and some chocolate truffles in our room before arrrival. They also scored us reservations to Redd (which we couldn't get on Open Table the night before ourselves) at prime-dinner time, and gave us complimentary passes and suggestions for nearby wineries.
Breakfasts were hearty, delicious, and a great way to start a day of wine tasting! The first morning the courses were: melon fruits, apple-crepes, and an eggs & asparagus souffle with a side of sausages. The second morning: citrus fruits with honey, banana pancakes with caramel sauce, and artichocke egg frittata with some other type of sausages on the side. We were actually so full after breakfast that we skipped lunch altogether on our wine-tasting day, and just came back in the afternoon and had some of the snacks they provide in their guest-dining room (chocolate cake - yes, from costco, but still yummy; a mini cheese/fruit plate).
Our room also had a nice TV and DVD player, and they have a selection of DVDs (and boardgames, cards, etc..) for guests to borrow.

When I drove up to the Candlelight Inn, my first reaction was "Wow. It looks just like it does on the Internet." The place is a beautiful building that apparently was built in the 20s.
Stayed in one of the rooms with a Jacuzzi tub. My honey and I had never shared an in-room jacuzzi before. Very nice. We had the fireplace on and the room became a private retreat for the two of us on our weekend getaway.
Let's see... the breakfast was really good and the staff was friendly. One of the highlights of our stay was at night when the crickets were singing out by the lighted pool. With glass of wine in hand, the two of us had these great moments of peace and relaxation.
Our little whispers together that revisit every now and then when the work day gets crazy. yes. We had a very, very good time.
this place has always been a favorite...great service and great rooms...go down and grab a bottle of in heck grab 2 and tuck in early
