Review from Ryan Q.
Some places just hold a place in your heart because they bring back memories of a fun and more care free time. Campus pizza was our go to joint freshman year when we were too young for the bars but wanted to get the hell outta the dorms. I can't even go there without having a certain group of people with me and every time we do, stories and memories of being stupid 18/19 year olds still always come up.
The place is usually pretty empty, well, until game day rolls around. Located on Washington near most the major Gopher sports venues, all the alumni coming back for the games know what's up and head here for a pre-game feast. The place literally gets packed from wall to wall with a line out the door sometimes. So just a heads up, if your lookin to get your thin crust pizza munch on, have you schedule handy and find a time to go when there won;t be a mob of hungry sports fans enjoying dinner with you.
Another tip, go on Sunday's, large pizza's start at only 8.99 + 1.50/extra topping. Also, look for them in your Daily Card if you're lucky enough to possess one of those bad boys. They have two different deals in there annually also. -

Campus Pizza is within walking distance from the University. I wouldn't recommend parking because street parking is hard to come by.
I ordered the thin crust pizza 4x4 which comes with canadian bacon, pepperoni, hamburger, and sausage. Delicious meat heaven! The thin crust is crunchy and has a soft doughy center.Comment from Jim R. of Campus Pizza 9/26/2011

My son lives just off campus and suggested we try Campus Pizza, so we did. Washington Ave is closed to traffic with the construction of the transit system on Washington. Parking can be an issue during daytime hours. Meters are bagged.
The place was mostly empty on a Saturday night at 6pm, but it was Labor Day weekend so that may have been the reason why, or students were still settling in for the new year.
We had a Yelp coupon for Italian Fries so we tried that as an appetizer. Italian Fries is a small pizza crust with just cheese on it, cut up into thin long pieces, like a FF. You get a side of pizza sauce to dunk the fry into. I hate to rag on food that I get for free as it is not the proper thing to do. It was OK, but I would not order it if I had to pay for it. I hope Campus Pizza keeps doing the yelp coupons for other items if they don't already. It's a wonderful way to get folks to try other items.
We ordered up a couple of pizza's with thin crust. Toppings were plentiful for your money, cheese was stringy and gooey...mmmmmm. My son and I shared a 4 x 4 which is a meat lovers. I think they forgot one of the meat types as I could find only three. I would say I have had better thin crust pizza's, but I also have had worse.
If the place was packed, I would not wait around for pizza and I would adventure out to try other pizza joints. This place probably is a great place for students to hang out in and get a pizza that they can afford.
We'll stop back again and give it another try next time we are in town. -

I'd been meaning to give this place a try for awhile now, and this past weekend, I finally got the chance. I stopped in for a carry out. For 7 oclock on a Saturday they place was pretty empty, I grabbed a seat at the bar, and ordered a Paulson (pepperoni and sauasage). It only took about 10 minutes and I was on my way.
The pizza was very good, with a thin crispy crust and a full flavored sauce. The sausage had a nice kick to it as well. A medium was more than enough for one, so I had leftovers. Its good cold as well, which in my opinion adds a lot to the quality of a pizza.
I will certainly be back. -

With a different pizza place literally every 10 feet on the U of M Campus, Campus Pizza is my favorite pizza place on campus. Their pizza is great and surprisingly so are their wings. The pizza is seasoned well and the service is always great. Their wings are perfectly juicy and tender; I prefer their wings over Buffalo Wild Wings any day. The wings are kind of mild, so I usually ask for them to be hotter.
This is the one pizza place on campus that is good for large groups because there is actually enough space to sit down and enjoy a game. Campus Pizza is one of two places on campus that I suggest to people who are looking for some great pizza. -

So, with a name like "Campus Pizza", I expected some crappy pizza intended for drunk college kids on their way home from the bars, too drunk to know the difference. I was so wrong.
This pizza is GOOD. The crust is crunchy and chewy at the same time; a delicious sauce combined with Wisconsin mozzarella cheese makes for a great pie. I had a 9 inch personal sized pizza and it was perfect for lunch.
I've been here for more than three years and have walked by this place more times than can ever be considered acceptable. Don't be me. Stop by and have some delicious pizza if you are on campus. You won't regret your choice.Listed in: We like to study

Reminds me of pizza my dad and I used to get from Chips Pizza in Ramsey on Sundays between church and bowling.
Campus Pizza has really good thin crust pizza, the kind cut into the little squares. Plenty of tangy sauce and a thick helping of cheese, and the crust doesn't wilt when you hold it. My favorite is their pepperoni, but I also like their hawaiian.
We have been ordering this at work for several years and we are always pleased with their customer service. Also, delivery is always on time or even a few minutes early.
If you like thin crust pizza, Campus Pizza is a solid choice. -

I have to give Jim the owner of Campus Pizza some serious credit.
My friends & I didn't have the best experience (during our first visit to Campus Pizza). So I posted a review to reflect our experience.
Jim emailed me personally within a matter of minutes willing to listen to my concerns. He then told me his plan of action to resolve the issues at hand.
It's clear Jim has a passion for his business. He's invited us back in to give Campus Pizza a second try and for that I had to change the reviews.
Afterall, the only reason I post reviews is to give credit where credit is deserved and also if a not so postive review is necessary, hopefully by posting such a review, a difference can be made. That's the situation here.
I look forward to my next visit to Campus Pizza and again, I need to give serious props to Jim for being so professional and truly caring about my experience. -

Love it! Such good pizza, always excellent service. I live in NYC now, and I avoid eating pizza there (yes, there is amazing pizza available but most of it is crap) but I long for Campus Pizza.
I always get green peppers and black olives and wash it down with a root beer. PERFECT!!!
I got pasta there once or twice, and I think it was pretty good, but it was so long ago I don't really remember.
I just went to their new location across the street last night (I momentarily panicked when we tried to go to the old location and it was closed). It's really nice! And now they have a full bar. I wish I lived around here...I would go drinking there. -

I started coming here, somewhat by accident, as a freshman at the U. I had just made my first friend and we needed a place to go for dinner. And honestly, I am so glad we did.
After that fateful evening, we would come here every Friday for lunch because they have a great veggie mostaccioli for their lunch specials. But honestly, even their non-special pasta dishes are pretty good. I love the lasagna (which was the first thing I ever ate here).
I was at first kinda pissed that they moved across the street and left their old, kinda retro building. But for my favorite pizza, I just had to suck it up and deal. They are trying to get into the college bar market, which is fine, but I am glad to know that they haven't compromised their culinary skills in the process.
Definitely one of the best places for lunch and pizza on campus. -

Campus Pizza is a completely serviceable place to grab some pizza for lunch. The individual-sized pies are satisfying but not excessively filling, and the service is up to scratch. The pizza tastes reasonably good overall, but they skimp a bit on the toppings and the crust is a bit flavorless. The 9-inch sausage pizza with a Coke sets me back $11 after tip.
The restaurant is a clean and pleasant place to sit and read a magazine while waiting for food, and most of the times I have gone there have been few if any other diners. There are numerous TVs around the restaurant, but most are small. From certain spots in the restaurant, it would be hard to get a good view of any game. -

The pizza served here is ok, not too bad. They seem to have some kind of specials every day. The price seems reasonable...I suppose you have to keep the prices down trying to attract a college crowd.
I came here with a group of 6 people, and pretty much everyone had a different entree. The server was fairly friendly and attentive. They brought out our food at a reasonable time.
With the bar and the various TVs, I am guessing this would be a good hang out place for large groups of people wanting to watch some sports and eat pizza.
Overall, not a bad place. I wouldn't say the pizza itself is spectacular, but the atmosphere and service are good for people to get together. -

Campus Pizza offers the best pizza on the University of Minnesota campus for a very reasonable price. The homemade crust and sauce are mouthwatering and the fresh cheese and ingredients make for a steller dining experience. Not only do they have great pizza, but they have awesome pasta options as well.
The atmosphere is amazing too! Big screen TVs grace the walls so you can watch your favorite Minnesota sports teams. The service is friendly, and it's a great place to meet friends with a big dining area.
Go for the food, have a beer or drink at the fully operational bar, and enjoy the game! Campus Pizza is a must for everyone. Even Badger fans! -
Review from Chris W.
Campus pizza moved across the street from it's previous location into a nicer larger area. I arrived with a party of 22 people they were able to serve us and had tons of seating for plenty of others. A pretty packed place Saturday night with HD Screens on various walls. They had a nice beer selection on tap. The iced tea was good. We had some pretty good apps including deep fried jalapenos. Friendly and competent staff. The pizza was outstanding. I am definitely going to return.

Review from Anne M.
I had their Friday lunch special (pasta, not pizza) and wasn't all that impressed. I received a TON of food - Mostaccioli al Fornoi, garlic bread, a side salad, and two slices of white bread to go with the salad. I only gave this place 2 stars because (1) I waited forever for someone to even take my order (they make you wait at the bar for the bartender to take your order if you get take out instead of eating in), (2) I had to pull one of the waitresses aside to ask if my order was ready after waiting 20 minutes after my order had been placed, (3) my pasta sat there getting cold while the waitress then went to get my side salad, (4) the salad used iceberg lettuce not romaine or green leaf lettuce, (5) the garlic bread was dry and hard - not really edible, and (6) the pasta was only okay. It's the kind of stuff that I make at home, but mine tastes better. It really shouldn't take more than 30 minutes to get the customer out the door for pasta that you're just warming up in the oven.

really good thin crust pizza in a place that feels like it hasn't changed much in the last half century.

Campus Pizza is great. It's hard to go here though with it being so close to so many other good options. But it is good. I love the calzones especially. They have a good lunch special.
