Went there last night with my wife and daughter. Were seated right away by friendly hostess and within seconds our waitress came by. Restaurant was Not overly busy however they we're pretty full.

From the appetizers to the dessert everything was cooked to perfection and the vegetables were tasted very fresh.

I had the rib eye with blue cheese cooked to perfection. My wife had the chipotle wrap and my daughter had a buffalo burger.  All of us were very happy at the same restaurant which doesn't always happen.

The best part was our service. I eat out a couple times a week in a metro area. The waitress we had was the best waitress I have had in years. I don't remember her name but she had an asian word tattooed on her right arm.

I will eat at camp robber anytime I am in Montrose. Well worth the trip.

Honestly this place is pretty cutesy.

The servers are dressed up  like they are at a Hawaiian luau and they encourage diners to dress up as well by giving them a free cocktail if they come dressed up.

The food is regular restaurant fair.  Salads, sandwiches, seafood, Mexican food,  and house made desserts.

I got the crab cakes to start.  Very deep fried.  The crab on the inside was actually a dark brown from the oil.  Still tasty cause...what is deep fried and DOESN'T taste good.

I got the ahi tuna salad for my entree.  I really wished they had spring mix or spinach for an option for their salads.  The tuna was a good sized portion but it was extremely rare in the middle.  I like it that way but others might not so just a warning.

Both things tasted MEH....honestly probaby on par with Applebees or some other restaurant chain...nothing special.

That is, nothing special until I had their dessert.  Best dessert ever.  I had the fudgey banana chocolate cake.  The chocolate ganache was rich and had a deep chocolate flavor.  The banana filler between the layers of the cake was almost pudding like!  The cake was moist and the banana sauce that was drizzled over it was creamy and added another sweetness factor to the whole thing.  If you do NOT like sugary stuff, skip this..but for my chocolate and dessert loving heart, it was perfect.

My advice is to skip the meal and just order dessert to go here.

Camp Robber has been a community standby for quite some time, and over the years, they have kept a consistent product, slightly above average service, and a clean, modern atmosphere.

Their menu is standard American fare with just enough uniqueness to distinguish them from the flocks of locally owned American family restaurants. That is to say that their burgers, sandwiches, salads, pasta, Tex-Mex, and some creative specials are what you should expect.

Their Sunday brunch is probably their crowning achievement, with wonderful waffles and pancakes, delectable crepes, quiches, Bene's, platters, fresh fruit, among other options.

Whether you lunch, brunch, or dine, you will be pleased, even impressed by whole package resented at this fine establishment.

I absolutely LOVE this place!  The menu is wonderful and creative, the food is abundant and never fails to please, and the service is usually amazing.  My boyfriend and I frequently go here, and we are never disappointed.

I would highly recommend the firecracker shrimp appetizer.  Also, the Sunday brunches are amazing.  They start you off with free pumpkin, banana, and lemon bread slices, and the menu is to die for.  I had the green chile, ham, and cheddar quiche this morning, and it was wonderful!

If you are looking for a variety, Camp Robber is a great way to find it.  There is adventurous food as well as normal American food.  I highly recommend this if you are looking for a place in the Montrose area.

I've been coming here for years especially for the Sunday brunch. The waffles are the BEST and are crispy, I recommend the cinnamon butter with it.

The "benies" are a new addition to the menu. I've tried the crabby bene and it was delicious!

Lunch and dinner are consistently good. I can't remember ever having poor service here. A must stop for Montrose!

Talked to some locals and the first restaurant they mention is Camp Robbers.  They are right, very nice place with a great vibe.

The owners are always in the restaurant, visiting tables and making sure things are right.  Always a good sign.

The food was great, we had the pork with pistachio chile coating, salmon, spicy shrimp and the ribs.  Everyone was happy with the selection and portion sizes.  We kind of made up our own combinations of meat, vegetable and starch and they happily accommodated us.

The deserts were wonderful too!  All are made onsite and the peanut butter pie was delish.

After getting two very enthusiastic recommendations for this place, I had to try it during a brief visit to Montrose. This place has a great menu. There are so many choices that it was difficult to decide what to try.

My favorite part of the meal was the appetizer--fried poblano pepper strips with a yummy queso/salsa. What a treat! They had just the right amount of spice.

For dinner, I had spinach and black bean enchiladas, which were very tasty. Both the green and red chile were good. The rice was made with lots of ginger--what an interesting twist.

I wish that I'd saved room for a house made dessert. They have a ton of options.

There was live music in the bar too.

I was working in Montrose for an entire week and found a few decent restaurants in this small valley with a population of ~25,000.  I was in the mood for a decent filet mignon and Camp Robber was recommended by one of the locals working at the hotel I was staying, so I decided to check it out.

I believe it was a Wednesday night, and the place was not too terribly busy.  The hostess sat me immediately and the waitress was very friendly and prompt.  The menu seemed to have many Mexican-American inspired dishes, but I opted for a cup of their house green chile chicken soup for an appetizer and the bacon-wrapped filet mignon with rosemary glaze dinner with vegetables (asparagus and pea pods) and changed the standard baked potato to their ginger rice, because it sounded like it would be very tasty.

The soup was delicious, as I found myself finishing it in what seemed to be less than a minute.  I cleansed my palette between each spoonful with gulps of New Belgium's Fat Tire Ale.  It had just the right amount of heat, the chicken was moist, and it was garnished with a dollop of sour cream and a couple tortilla chips.  Anything with sour cream gets praise from this big fella!

I ordered the only Pinot Noir on their wine list to accompany my filet and was pleasantly surprised with it.  My steak was cooked to perfection (medium rare) and was covered in a rosemary glaze.  The glaze was OK, but I am not sure if the steak would be better with or without it.  The vegetables were well seasoned and tasted great together with a bite of the meat. The rice was OK, but I just didn't taste the ginger at all which disappointed me.  Regardless, if I were to be stuck in Montrose for another week I would most likely return to Camp Robber for another meal.

OK place.  Good selection of wine and beers.  Ordered a shrimp appetizer that was supposed to be spicy, but instead was bland.  Had a chocolate flourless cake that was good, but good in that it was milk chocolate tasting.  I wish it was a darker chocolate.  I would have to go again as I did not order dinner.  Just appetizers and desert.

This wonderful restaurant has moved to 1515 Ogden Road, Montrose CO 81401.  We have eaten there whenever we are in town and have never been disappointed.  Tonight I had one of the specials, which was ribeye steak with crabmeat and an asiago cheese sauce.  It was wonderful!  My daughter swears by the sirloin steak over pasta with a chipotle cream sauce!  This is a place that is definitely worth a stop!
