so after 2 days of misery dealing with what may have been the result of nomming on all that yummy food at PLEY on saturday.. i decided it was time to see the doctor.

its tuesday night.. around 6pm. i was afraid i had to go to the ER because my doctor wouldnt be in. luckily i found some info on the after hours patient care here. it wasnt super busy so i was able to make an appt for 7:40pm. sweet.. it gave the pook some time to get home and take me.

i got there around 7:15 and was greeted by friendly faces. check in was a breeze and i was called in to the office about 5 mins later. checked my vitals and all that jazz and after about 20 mins i saw dr. brothers. he was extremely friendly and explained things thoroughly. he even gave me info on stuff i didnt think to ask. although there is no prescription he could give me for this awful stomach flu.. i am happy that he did not opt to write a prescription for whatever just to get me out of there. he said i have to wait it out and sympathized with what i was going through.

my PCP is in redwood city but i will be sure to return to dr. brothers if anything comes up and i am unable to make it to my PCP. highly recommended.

I understand that there is a wait for urgent care. And I understand that it is based on severity.

BUT the doctors and nurses forgot that I was in one of the rooms and started CLOSING. Yes, I had SEEN the doctor and he told me that one of the nurses would be by to administer nausea medicine. Instead, I patiently waited another 30 minutes and as people all started leaving and the lights started turning off, I realized that something was very wrong.

I ended up calling and getting my money back because neither did they diagnose me with a problem or give me any form of treatment. 3 hours of my life I'll never get back.

I really wish that it was possible to avoid urgent care but I gave it two stars just because of the hours.

before anything, this place has turned into palo alto medical foundation so whoever is in charge of this listing should update it. :)

i was seen in urgent care this past friday for nausea and leg pain in an already broken/casted leg. when i got there, there were about 15 other people waiting in the waiting room so i thought i'd have to wait at least a half hour, but i ended up only waiting about 15 minutes and was let in ahead of other people, so i guess the triage was great. i was seen pretty quickly once i was let into the room and was set up with a comfortable bed instead of just an exam table (i needed to prop my cast up on something, so the doctor was kind enough to set me up with that). the doctor also did an amazing job of explaining why i was experiencing the symptoms i was complaining of, and he was great at explaining aftercare and various other things i should be doing at home after the visit. the nurses were amazing as well. they made sure i was completely all set up with anything that i needed while in the room.

i would highly recommend dr. laroy if you have any choice of doctors in the urgent care. he was amazing! maybe one of the best doctor's i've never seen, and that's saying alot. ;)

no complaints whatsoever. if i have to choose an urgent care again, i would definitely return. thanks so much, pamf! you never let me down.

I brought my daughter to the urgent care twice recently, the waiting time is still okay to bear, the doctor is nice, but after 2 month, the bills come to asking for copay which I already paid before entering the long waiting list. I don't know what the procedure of this facility is, but it always wants to double charge me,  for at least four times as I can remember, It is very annoying to have to deal with the billing after the patient is recovered.

TIPS: keep your payment receipt if you visit this facility!!!

I have to preface this review with the fact that my entire family HAD been patient's of Dr. Edward Yu for many, many, many years. We adored him and we looked forward to seeing him. And then in the summer of 2008 my 51 year old husband almost died because of a misdiagnosis. He had not been feeling well for months, waking up with the sweats and feeling really crummy. It reminded him of how he felt when he was 22 years old and ended up in the hospital for a month with endocarditis. Endocarditis is an inflammation of the inside lining of the heart chambers and heart valves. My husband was born with a defect in his valve so that made him more susceptible. Anyway, he saw Dr. Yu at least four times, each time telling him that he thought he had endocarditis. Dr. Yu kept saying "No way you could have it twice." My husband continued to feel crummy and we had planned a vacation to Kauai and Dr. Yu told us to go ahead and go. He said my husband probably had some type of flu. We went to Kauai and my husband got out of bed twice, to play golf with my brother-in-law. He continued to look terrible and by this time was basically bed ridden. On the plane ride home his chin was on his chest, he was gray and I knew he was dying right before my eyes. We got home called the office, Dr. Yu wasn't in so we saw the doctor on call, Dr. Stephen Prescop who listened to my husband and took a blood test. Yes, a stupid simple blood test. That evening at 11:30 our phone rang and it was a lab technician calling to say that we needed to get my husband to the hospital immediately. Long story short, three days later my husband was on the operating table having open heart surgery. Keep in mind that he was filled with the bacteria that had already destroyed his heart valve and had started to attack his other organs. I begged them to give him time to fight the infection and they informed us that he had no time.
Dr. Ramin Beygui, Associate Professor in Cardiothoracic Surgery performed the surgery and was fabulous. Had a very nice bedside manner and everyone associated with him were wonderful. Now my husband is part cow and is doing very well. Don't get me started on the kind of care he received at El Camino Hospital! A nightmare! So terrible! My 26 year old daughter ended up living in his hospital room keeping track of every nurse and every medication they were giving him. Yes, at one point a nurse tried to give him the WRONG pain medication and if my daughter hadn't put up a fight and told her to check his records AGAIN the nurse very easily could have killed my husband! Hope this helps anyone out there that is looking for a family doctor. I think Dr. Yu is tired out, stay away from him

Graham Dresden (Family Practice):
Went through about 3 doctors here. Good doctors are hard to find. I only go to a doctor when I need to, and I have to take time off of work to accommodate their schedule. Fair enough, but I certainly don't have the time or patience to get into a debate over what I do or don't need, or be asked to get a 2nd opinion on an issue that has been routine for years, or be treated as if I am not being honest. Dr. Dresden was friendly, honest, and to the point. This 5 star is based on my experience with him in particular, not the other doctors or the facility as a whole.

My experience at PAMF Mt.View has been with internal medicine, optho, and dermatology:  They have great doctors here who are trained at Stanford and UCSF.  So you get academic-type MDs and MD/PHDs but without the crappy customer service you have to endure at Stanford or UCSF.

To the dude who complained that his MD was late for the appointment: Did you ever try to see a doc at Stanford?? It's standard to wait for 2hours before you're roomed, then wait another 30min before the resident sees you then wait another 30min before the attending comes in.  Once I experienced private practice, I vowed to never to back to Stanford where you're just a medical record number.

I came to CMG to see my long time neurosurgeon, Dr. Joseph Welsh.  I had a spinal fusion with him while he was in private practice and needed to follow up with him, hence my reason for coming to CMG.  I highly recommend Dr. Welsh if you are in need of a neurosurgeon, he is very conservative in recommeding operations, kind and down to earth.  His skills are top notch as well as his bedside manner, which is one of the best I've experienced.  I've always felt to be in good hands and never questioned my decision to have a major spinal surgery. Dr. Scott Wachhorst was my assistant surgeon and he is very skilled and sought after too, if you can't see Dr. Welsh.  However, he isn't as friendly in his bedside manner and is a bit brusque, but I wouldn't let that stop me from seeing a skilled surgeon.

Dr. Welsh and Dr. Wachhorst's back office staff from private practice followed them to CMG and they are very helpful, efficient, kind and funny.  I've never been to a doctor where I like the staff as much as Shirley and Yvonne.  Calls are returned in a timely manner.

I also had a CT scan at CMG.  It took a couple of weeks to schedule it.  The staff at the radiology dept. were efficient and considerate as well.  They are very busy there.  The doctors at CMG can view your images and reports on computer terminals located in every exam room.

The new building is beautiful and easy to navigate.  Love the waterfall that you can see from all the levels, the garden and the glass sculpture in the lobby.  Although this has nothing to do with the quality of care, surroundings are important and I find it comforting.

I've had nothing but fantastic service from the staff at CMG. I've been here on numerous occasions from everything from a Check-up to a Left Front Dorsal Compartment Release. The Doctors have always been very helpful and have made recommendations which are adequate for me.

The facilities are always very clean and they're working with some of the newest technology in the medical field.

I see Dr. Ronald Watson for a GP and he's great. Very friendly guy and he's never in a rush to get you out of the office. I'd recommend CMG to anyone in the market for a good medical group.

Dr. Reba MUKERJEE

Seriously, I need a new doctor.  This one is a remedial!  For real, I went in because I am not feeling well and I know I need that tended to.  First thing she said walking in the door, "Uh, I am concerned about you and your weight".    That is part of the reason I am here and went on to explain the specific problem(s) and those problems may very well be causing a wee bit of the weight loss.  She basically started yelling at me that I am seriously underweight and my health is in danger.  I said, no duh!  That's why I am here.  She ordered some blood tests (not for the specific problem) but for "anorexia" and went on to say and write on paper "anorexia" and referred me to a "specialist" for the problem I went to see her for.  Then she exlaimed she needed to leave and get her kid; left me sitting there.

You can't understand my frustration, because I just cannot explain the specific problem, however, I explained it to this woman that calls herself a doctor.  I am certain that this problem is causing havoc beyond my stupid weight - I just know it.
I am going to complain to the American board physician she was making fun of my weight.

Went to the flu shot clinic today expecting to be there forever, seeing as how it was just on a walk-in basis.  I took my book and was prepared to wait.  I was in and out in less than 10 minutes and that included filling out my paperwork and everything!  The staff was very courteous and helpful and my shot didn't even hurt!  :)

OB-GYN :  the best of the best.  Front desk Georgiana is very very sweet.  My doctor Dr. Jenny Hua is the smartest and gentle and kind and fun!  Her assistant (I need to find out her name -not the nurse name Rea) works fastest ever.
Lab : on and off.  Some staff are very nice, some are clueless.  But so far, clean and effective.
Family Medicine : Dr. Vahamaki is awesome I'm glad I got away from Dr. Elizabeth William- worst of the worst, her nurse is kinda eeek too.  Front desk?  Anyone, please help me... I don't want to be rude but those Indian women behind counter... please drop the accent and learn more about your own work.
Urgent Care : Good luck!  Don't go if you are sick, you will get more disease while you are waiting for 2 hours.
Pediatrics : I'm glad we have Dr. Hanna.  Pick her from website and never want to switch at all.

Seeing a specialist at this facility is like getting an audience from the Pope...

Well, I've used Camino Medical for the past few years. I visited Dr. Sanborn in Sports Medicine who was very knowledgeable. He explained all the possible causes for my problem, and laid out all the possible courses of action we could take. He basically treated me like a thinking and understanding human being, not giving me the patronizing attitude I'm used to get from the PCPs in this group.

Now I'm seeng Dr. Jennings in Podiatry, who's handled my routine issue very well. However, it took over a month to get into her schedule (that was after 2 months of seeing Primary Care Physicians who could not solve my problem). Well, now that I'm trying to reschedule my 2 week follow up appointment with her, it seems like it would be another month before I can get a new time slot. And, after not getting a call back on the re-schedule for tomorrow, I called one more time and finally got a different operator. She tells me that the (very rude) operator that handled my previous calls had actually cancelled my appointment for tomorrow, even though I have no guaranteed date for a reschedule! So now I'm left with an unpleasant couple of calls, and no appointment!

Such a nice new facility, Camino Medical, please spend some of the $$ on efficient clerical personnel

If I could give 0 stars I would...

First of all, the urgent care is ridiculous. I waited 3.5 hours to be seen. I was seriously sick. My lymph nodes were swollen to the size of eggs and I had a fever. The doctor gave me a mono test and when it was negative, he sent me home! He gave me nothing for pain or anything. I went and saw my PCP (who is NOT part of this group) and she diagnosed my in 10 minutes. Ridiculous!

Second I went to an endocrinologist here. I was referred by my PCP for thyroid problems. This witch spent all of 10 minutes with me. In that 10 minutes she told me I was obese and should go to a weight loss clinic (I am actually within a healthy range for my age/height, my PCP could not believe she told me to go to a weight loss doctor), told me that I would get sick from diabetes since my grandma has it (I have no signs of diabetes), and sent me for a bunch of tests that my PCP had already done and sent over. She claimed she wanted her own, even though the test had been done that same month! She never followed up. All I got was a bill for over $500 that I fought for 6 months. She coded the tests wrong, so my insurance would not cover them. I contacted her and she had the nerve to say that she felt it was "unethical" to change a code, even though she knew she had used the wrong one. I finally go it resolved, but it was months of phone calls and letters, such a waste of time!

The most recent experience was when I went to a podiatrist for an ingrown toenail. First, they made me wait two weeks to come in so by the time I got in the infection was traveling up my foot.  The doctor cleaned it out, gave me an antibiotic and sent me on my way. Well last week I got a bill for $800!!! So now I am fighting this bill. The billing department said that all their prices have gone up. I told them last year I had the SAME procedure done and it was $200 and my insurance has not changed. She looked it up and said I was right, but now the cost is $800. They are ripping people off!!! I am going to fight this too. I do not mind paying for services, but $800 is ridiculous.

Do not go here unless you have money and don't mind throwing it away.

Totally not understanding the bad review on here.  Have you people ever been to Good Samaritan Medical Group?  Eek!  No comparison!  Camino Medical Group is fast, super clean, efficient, and everyone is very helpful.  The buildings are up to date and your charts are kept on a computer system that all the doctors have access to.  Not that old school shit where your files are in a manila folder.  I used to have to wait for hours to see my doc at Good Sam and it was dirty and terrible service.  Switch to Camino if you can!

Even there Urgent Care clinic is great!  Don't worry if you don't have an appointment.

My favorite doctors here are:
Dr. Heidi Tonken (Orthopedic) is wonderful, she takes the time to explain everything and makes the referrals to rule out everything so that you feel confident your issue(s) are addressed, and there are no surprises later on.
For the lab to get blood drawn, I always ask for Leo, he makes it painless (almost) and gets it on the first try.
For dermatology,  I like Dr. Ellen DeConnick; she's very patient and answers all of my questions knowledgeably.  I didn't like Tin Tun (dermatology), she was rude when I saw her, maybe I caught her on a bad day?
For Primary doctor, I haven't found one I love yet...

There's a PEET's Coffee in this building, what more could you ask for?  While I was waiting for an appt once, I asked the front desk person if I have enough time to get a coffee, and she actually went back to check with the nurse, and came back to tell me to go ahead!  And then I was seen very quickly after I got back with my coffee in hand.

This new building is aesthetically pleasing.  But, the signs could be improved.   When it was brand new, all you see when you look down each hall, were pictures of body parts to identify each station!  Couldn't they have put a WRITTEN Sign under the picture so there is no guessing needed??  Don't even ask me what the picture was for Obgyn.   The front desk staff for some dept. could be improved.

Location wise, this is much better than their Old San Francisco Rd location.  Really close to 85 and 237.    There is also a wonderful Baskin Robbins across the parking lot, so you can get yourself an ice cream after getting your boo boo fixed.

So, I don't know what's been going on with my body lately.  After doing my best to stay in shape and ahead of the curve (which has been working thus far), 2008 has been the year of my illness for some reason or another.  Chalk it up to increased work stress, home stress and...well...advancing age I guess ("Honey is the door creaking again, or is that just you?")

Anyway, I was a victim of the Great Flu Strain of 2008 and never really recovered.  Most recently, I've been the victim of a bad eye ailment/infection.  It's like pink eye on steroids or more like whatever the Incredible Hulk took.  Actually, I could be an extra on a remake of 28 Days Later, so long as they shoot me from one side (drats....that's right, they already made one).

So my health care provider is Camino Medical Group, and they've recently finished a grand spanking new facility in Mountain View on El Camino Real.  The building is awesome and quite a welcome location compared to the old facilities on Old San Francisco Road.

But strangely enough, the Urgent Care facility is a grand spanking new mess.   Although you can walk-in, you have to wait 3 hours(!) just to be seen by a doctor (most visits being about 10 minutes long).  It was never this bad at the other location, which makes me believe they've consolidated operations.

Fact is, some people can die, be reborn and die again before getting their names called.  And if I didn't have anything serious going in, I sure as hell might have something going out having spent 3 hours in confined quarters with a host of other sick people.  Aiygo.

The doctor I met was cool enough and prescribed for me some drugs that appear to be working.  May not have been an infection per se, but more like a bad allergic reaction to something.  But if I waited any longer in the waiting room, my eye would have sprouted a new zip code.

There's gotta be a better way, other than never get sick again.  Can drive you to drink.  Sigh.

Here's pink in your eye!  yeah......

I've been a patient with Camino Medical Group for many years. They have provided me and my family with quality health and medical care.

I am a cancer survivor - and I can't express enough appreciation and gratitude to my medical team (Carla Cassani, Cindy Russell and Peter Yu) for the excellent level of care and support that they have given to me. I'm so very fortunate to be under their care and I am doing very well.

I have seen a general doctor and two orthopedic doctors. The fiance had seen two Ob-Gyns when she was pregnant, as well as her primary doctor. I have already requested for a new primary doctor who is NOT in CMG with my insurance, but right now this crap organization has a monopoly in the local area.

Issue #1: I had requested an MRI for my back. I had seen one ortho specialist and he couldn't do anything for me. After hours of arguing on the phone about seeing another doctor before the MRI, I finally gave in and saw the second doctor who provided no better information than the first. I finally got the MRI and was able to provide it to a chiropractor (not affiliated with CMG) and he WAS able to make my back much better. I never needed to waste my time with a second ortho, and CMG just wanted to be able to bill my insurance more.

Issue #2: While trying to get a chiropractor, I spent hours on the phone between my insurance, my primary doctor's nurses (who are ALL incompetent), and the business office at CMG. NO ONE knew who I could go to and everyone said it was the other groups responsibility. It took over two weeks to determine which doctor I could see, because the "hospital" has no idea what they are doing.

WARNING - The following contains an UNPLEASANT story. Read with caution:
Issue #3: My fiance was pregnant and requested an initial appointment. The Ob-Gyn nurse told her they would not give her an appointment until she was 12 weeks pregnant. We experience some minor complications, requested an appointment, and again were told no. We experience bleeding, and again were refused an appointment. We experience HEAVY bleeding and were finally given an appointment the next day. By then it was too late...the sonogram showed our child had died about 1-2 weeks earlier. What kind of medical group does that? They refused to provide us care when we asked.

This group is the WORST bunch of doctors I have ever seen in my life. If you can go somewhere else, go there. It may save a life. :(

Five stars for my gynecologist and our family doctor, and their nurses. They always respond quickly on the phone, and are good about getting us in to see the doctor, even on very short notice. Earlier this year, my husband hurt his back very badly, and Dr. Souvignier (or his nurse, Patty) squeezed him in for an emergency visit the last day before his vacation (the doctor's...my husband's and my vacation was ruined due to his poor back!).  And Dr. Inouye, and his nurse, Teresa, are wonderful and have gone above and beyond for me many times over the years.

Also, CMG was nice to my dad when he came in for a flu shot while he was visiting with us.  Gave him the shot, and answered lots of questions patiently, all for free and he's not even a patient there (well, I guess he is now? Since he stays with us a couple months out of the year now that he's retired, we signed him up with Dr. Christopher Chin)  Anyone who treats my family well is ok with me.

The phlebotomists in their lab are very gentle, and are somehow able to extract blood from my non-existant veins.  Urgent Care is excellent, and I don't even want to say how many times I've had to go there over the years...

BTW, I like the robot who calls to remind us about our upcoming appointments.  He could give a few pointers to the mean robot from the Sunnyvale library who's always calling me with his elitist "overdue" messages.

I went here a year ago for emergency service and was pretty disappointed. I was in a lot of pain and the doctor was pretty cold and not very helpful. He said it wasn't grave and that it will go away with time - no prescription, no advice how to alleviate the condition.

I was then slapped with a ~ $300 invoice for the visit. Apparently I gave them the wrong insurance information when I was there in pain. After I finally figured out what the billing issue was, I called them several times to update my insurance info and have them resubmit the claim. Of course, they never did! So, a few days ago I got a letter from the collections office saying if I don't pay up (plus a year's worth of interest on the sum) in 30 days this will go on my credit record.

Needless to say I am NOT happy...I've called them again and the person who picked up wasn't very helpful. After 20 minutes of arguing with her that I've tried to update my info with them on several occasions and that it's their fault not mine, I finally decided to talk to her supervisor. She was friendly and I'm waiting for her to call me back - she's going to see what she can do. This is the only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars...because the supervisor is nice and helping me out.

Otherwise, the doctor was miserable and the accounting department is horrible. I would not go here or recommend it to a friend unless you were really in need of attention and it was the closest place to you!!

Camino Medical Group ROCKS!  They have great service, helpful people and their doctors are GREAT!  To me, customer service is essential for a good medical center.  The people who work there should be able to put their patients at ease and make them feel very comfortable.  After all, who likes hospitals or doctor offices?!

The staff at Camino Medical Group are all very nice and are more than willing to go above and beyond.  I highly recommend using this medical group.  My doctor is Jeff Tan and he is super nice and very intelligent.

This is a review of the Camino Medical Group _Urgent Care_.

Pros:
+ anyone can go there (apparently)
+ no need for an appointment

Cons:
- once you get there and sign in, the wait time can be HOURS (3 hours in my case). I had time to take my car to a detail car wash, drive back, and still had to wait some more.
- the waiting room hosts about 30 people, most of which will probably be CONTAGIOUS with airborne diseases. This way, the "Urgent Care" waiting room is an excellent mechanism for promoting equal health care: for equal health care, you need equal conditions to take care of. Get in the waiting room with your infectious disease, wait 3 hours, walk out with all the infectious diseases of everyone present.
- after being sent to an examination room, I had to wait another half hour until a doctor showed up to examine me.

The Camino Medical Group "Urgent Care" is obviously understaffed, and equally obviously, a misnomer.

Ok, so I feel like I'm finally entitled to write a review for this medical group since I've become a member.

Customer care line
Their customer care telephone line is a mixed bag. I've talked to some nice people while others are condescending and intentionally misleading or at times reluctant to provide helpful information. Like any organization, this area is a gamble. If you happen to get an unhelpful customer service rep just politely end the conversation and call back later.

My doctor is decent and appears professional from the one appointment that I had. Like any doctor's office, lateness and delay is normal. I arrived for my appointment 10 minutes ahead of time yet I was not treated until 20-30 minutes past the scheduled appointment time.

I had lab works done in early April and was promised by the doctor's office that I will be notified when the lab results are out. I waited for exactly a month before deciding to call in and find out what was going on with the lab results. The nurse/receptionist at the doctor's office I spoke to said they usually notify the patient and mail out the lab results within a few weeks. And for some reason--maybe feeling guilty--the person gave me a sob story saying such a thing has never happened before and this was the first such an event has occurred. I guess that is believable but come on you're a professional medical office, unless your processes for storing and distributing lab results and patient care information is manual (as in paper and ink, folders, etc.) you have no excuse--we do live in the 21st century, invest in some computers and learn how to use them.

Anyhow, I finally got the lab results in the mail a week later after I made the call. Again, they probably took their sweet time to print and send my lab results. The envelope they sent me was postmarked May 18! Five days after I called the office requesting the results! I am expecting another sob story when I call the office next, and it better be a damn good one too!

So the doctor called a few days after I called his office to ensure me that he returns call to his patient within the week that they call and that he will review my lab results. And he does follow through after leaving a few messages on my phone b/c they only communicate through email if you subscribe to their email service which is $60/year. I haven't looked at what their email service is like and why it cost $60. I guess that is how much it cost their IT department to run it, which is fair I guess.

Overall, there are a few glitches here and there with this medical group from the interactions I have with them so far. I hope the quality of service and health care provided will proof worth the sacrifice of putting up with below par services mentioned above. Let's see what happens. 2 stars for now.

When I first moved here and were living in Sunnyvale, I had a minor problem and visited the Urgent Care facility, where I received excellent care.  We now live in Redwood City.  When I had trouble finding an internist closer to my new location, I thought of Camino Medical, based on my past experience, and chose Dr. Lisa Gervin.  Again, I only have positive things to say about Dr. Gervin, who is thoughtful, thorough and responsive.  When I had a more serious problem recently, she referred me to the group's Gastroenterology department.  Their responsiveness was also terrific; I'm seeing the specialist tomorrow.

All in all, despite the geographic inconvenience (not too bad a drive from 280, though), I'm a big fan of Camino Medical Group.  And I love the artwork!

Okay, I'll admit it - I'm a klutz.  I have two left feet, can't dance worth a damn, and once almost electrocuted myself while clearing brush from under my house.  I have no business doing anything requiring coordination but I do anyways because I enjoy things like mountain biking which get me out of the house and away from computers.  That said, it is important to know where to go when things go wrong.

I've been a fan of the Camino Medical Group's UrgentCare center since it was at their old location in Sunnyvale.  I once went to a regular hospital emergency room because I thought the UC was "too far."  I left because 1) it would take longer for me to wait in line to sign in than it would have taken to drive to UC and 2) the guy next to me was bleeding on the floor (no, really).  Now, it's straight to UC for any (major) owies.

They tend to process the cases fairly quickly, far faster than a standard emergency room.  I've never spent more than 4-5 hours for a visit here.  The doctors are great and since they're part of a larger medical group (conveniently in the same building), they can refer to specialists if needed.  After my wife's most recent trip there for a broken wrist - yes, my wife's a klutz too - we saw Dr. Ahluwalia (urgent care), Dr. Hay (orthopedics) and Dr. Nguyen (occupational therapy) on referral and all were great!  The staff in radiology and casting were very friendly and helpful as they answered our dumb questions that they've likely heard a million times.

I'd prefer not to injure myself, but if I do I'm glad that Camino Medical Group's UC is close by.

Nice facility with two beautiful Chihuly art pieces hanging from the ceiling.  My doctor always call me back within half day with messages I left with concerns that I have regarding my pregnancy, and when he's out the on duty doctor was good in calling back too.

People at the lab are pretty good too, some technicians working at the lab drawing blood have good sense of humor, so that kinda relaxes me...

This is my first year here and my experience with my doctor and his staff - so far so good  =)

Dr. Patrick Fann, otolaryngology

I've got nasal problems for years. This time I went to see a doctor decided to make sure what is the problem and how to fix it. A doc. named Patrick Fann (sp.) assigned to me. As the beginning, he could not tell that I have problems in my nose, then I told him 5 years ago, I was diagnosed with nasal polyps. Then he started examining it, telling me I got Deviated Nasal Septum, need surgery. I am not sure what it is. He did not confirm it either.

2 nd time,  I arrived 15 min earlier, but he was 30 mins. late!  Rechecked, then confirmed, but never mentioned sth about nasal polyps. Then said, for surgery, at my age, I can skip blood test and drug test.....

5 days before the surgery, I am still not sure about the diagnosis. I think I need to see another one.

The doctor and staff were wonderful. When I went for my visit I was so impressed with how efficiently everything is run there and the facility was excellent.  No wait in the waiting area either, which I can't say for any other doctor's office I've been to.  My one complaint is that I received a bill twice for the visit and I was marked as "self pay." I have now given them my insurance information three times and spoken on the phone with them twice to straighten it out.  Not sure why they're having difficulty with something so routine, but their staff is so nice that it doesn't really bother me!

My fellow female yelpers....BEWARE.

I had a routine mammogram done here and after 2 months I still haven't received the results.  YES, AFTER TWO MONTHS AND NO RESULT.  I did receive a letter in the mail telling me that the mammogram "needed further evaluation" but nothing more beyond that.

As if that's not enough to make you freak out, I've called repeatedly trying to get more information.  Nothing.  Either you get Radiology's voicemail (and no one returns your calls) or you talk to the OB-GYN group and they tell you that they will "check on it" or that they've asked for it to be expedited.

Just thinking about how understaffed (disorganized?  incompetent?) they must be to be this ineffective is just plain scary.  Your health care is not exactly something you should gamble with so I will definitely avoid this place in the future.  Too bad.  Nice, new facility.  What a waste...

I went to Dr. Kimberely Carlson at the Camino Medical Group after finding her through my new PPO network.  I have had several doctors over the past few years because I have moved around quite a bit, and was hoping to find a good, female family doctor. Well, she was awesome!  She spent a lot of time asking me questions about my medical history, she was knowledgeable about my concerns and risk factors, and best of all she focused on women's issues that were relevant to me.  She will definitely continue to be my primary care physician.

The office itself was very nice.  The staff was pleasant and I only waited five or ten minutes to see the doctor.  Also, a few weeks after my appointment I received a check from them because they had apparently over-charged my co-payment amount.  I have to say that was the first time I'd ever received money from a doctor!

I grew up in Sunnyvale and have been coming here since I was a baby.  Literally.  My pediatrician was here, my gynecologist was here, I've been to their Urgent Care on more than one occasion and I still come here for all the routine stuff.     Not all of the staff or doctors are amazingly wonderful or anything but I'm not dead yet, so they must be doing something right.

I've been uber sick for the last couple of weeks. I can't get into see my own primary physician at Stanford Medical. So I went to the urgent care at Camino Medical. Its a toss up for me about how much I like this place. They did spend a lot of time talking to me about my illness but the whole visit took about 5 hours and then some. Well, I'll have to revisit this review in a few months after I select a new PCP with this group. I am definitely not going back to Stanford.

My primary care physician, my OB/GYN, and my daughter's pediatrician are all from Camino Medical Group and we love them all. We've had nothing but excellent experiences here over the past 3-4 years. We've also made several trips to their urgent care department and have been seen fairly quickly. I also liked all of the birthing classes we took there before I had my daughter. They had a good selection of classes.

This new facility has been open now for about a year I think and not only did I find my new doctor there, I have used their urgent care center and it's great!  Everything is brand new, the reception areas to check in are very professional with friendly staff.  I don't know if I have just been lucky, but the last 3 doc visits I didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes after my scheduled appt. and was in and out in no time.  Last week I needed to go to the urgent care there and my UTI superseded all of the cold and flu peeps.. When I arrived it was packed in the waiting area but shortly after I signed in I was already seeing the doc!!  In fact the next day, the doc who saw me called me at home in the evening to see how I was doing..such service!

Despite all the trouble I had getting to this place (why - see below), I was pleasantly surprised by the overall layout/approachability of the place, and the (almost) efficient environment.

It would help if they had a board outside of the "Urgent Care" section so people don't go into the "Family Center" off to the left.

It is called an "urgent" care center, but be prepared to wait for atleast an hour, if not much more, once you get there. The staff at the entrance seem to be more occupied in chatting with each other than in getting patients to go to the right place, but that is only a minor complaint.

Unless you are close to dying, in which case you are in the wrong place, expect a shallow comforting response from the doctors here. Which isn't too bad I guess.

When is "Sicko II" coming out ?

Almost forgot - about the problems I had getting here
 a) My service provider (that will be another review sometime) 's site allows searching for doctors/pharmacies etc, but apparently not urgent care centers!
 b) I called up customer service to find out the nearest urgent care center, and the girl (who I reached after waiting for 3 minutes on the line navigating some absurd voice menu items) gave me the Sunnyvale address for Camino Medical center.
 c) Interestingly, the Sunnyvale center does NOT handle urgent care anymore! Ouch - if you have survived till now, you will have to wait a few more minutes before you swoon. At the Sunnyvale center, it says outside that urgent care is available in Mountain View, but it seemed to indicate that the notice applied only for late hours.
 d) At the Sunnyvale center, there is absolutely no personnel at the entrance. I had to walk around before a lady helped me out saying that Mountain View was my only choice.
 e) So I drive, and almost get there, except that heavy construction/lane-closings and heavy commuter traffic make it extremely hard to get to the hospital. Aren't there some laws to make road-construction near hospitals a bit more organized and to be done only during lean hours ? I can imagine an ambulance ... oh well.

Atleast I didn't get dumped by the hospital on skid row.

When is "Sicko III" out ?
